Welcome to Era, a once-prestigious kingdom, and now a mere shadow of its former glory. Rebel forces have dethroned the monarchy, aiming now to bring down the nobility. Ambitious Nobles meanwhile vie for power, though others simply wish to keep what they have. Others are Loyalists, believing some former-royalty could end this anarchy. Then there those who see a prime opportunity, and others who don't care at all. Some form Gangs, fighting for personal gain or unique causes, while others are more interested in the resurfacing of Shadow Pokemon. And naturally, there are those who just want to ignore everything and live their personal lives. There are no clear lines in Era.
Where in this chaos do you fall?

Again, there are no clear lines in Era. As such, many characters have more than one affiliation.
Be respectful, friendly, and PG-13. Listen to staff and be nice to each other and guests~ Lower end of PG-13 for the box, too, generally, please. People can avoid topics they don't like, but the box is just kind of out there in the open.
Dark font only, please. Lighter colors can clash with some skins.
When discussing works of fiction, no spoilers. If you want to discuss too much, make a topic in the Socialize board. Kthxbai~
Do not link adoptables and/or ask for clicks. If you want to put something in your signature on the board, that's cool, but asking is just annoying.
Have fun, or face the consequences. D< (The consequences may involve chocolate.)

Name:Jacob Stone | Age: 45 | Gender: Male | Player:Dare
Jacob was destined to lead his family's buisness with high hopes of wealth and glory... which were cut short by the unexpected pregnancy of his then-girlfriend. While "there" for his son until the boy grew up, Jacob largely turned away from responsibility and instead focused on his new job... with the Rebels. Today, he is extremely high within their ranks.
Name:Sofia Brooke | Age: 13| Gender: Female | Player:Elayne
Though technically a teenager, Sofia acts notably younger, retaining an eternal childlike innocence. She never runs out of energy, and loooves to talk to everyone, though the recent bombings have humbled her a bit. When her best friend Harvey ran away from home, Sofia decided an adventure with him sounded fun, and has been on the road ever since.

Homeward Bound -------------------
While on the way to visit her brother, Justice lets her Togekiss take a break in the Tanglethorne Jungle and is greeted on ground-level by Seles and her Ditto, Duke, who has taken the form of a human. They introduce themselves and, as the conversation continues, Justice tells the woman where she's going, which prompts Seles to mention that she, like Justice's brother, is also a knight!
As the weather starts to pick up in an uncharacteristic snowstorm, the group looks for cover and finds a small hut in which they can take shelter and set up camp. Seles tries to make it more comfortable by releasing her Arcanine, which causes long-supressed memories from Justice's childhood to start coming back. While she is able to quell them at first, they prove too much and the girl eventually breaks down from her fear of fire and Fire-types. As she hallucinates that the hut has caught fire, Seles, Duke, and the other Pokemon present all try to calm her, to no avail.
Eventually, it occurs to one that if they can just find the Togekiss's Pokeball and release her, perhaps she will be able to calm the poor girl. After a brief search, they are able to find it and the Togekiss successfully comforts her trainer. After some time of letting Justice calm and offering as much comfort as she can manage, Seles mentions that she wants to meet someone as well: her cousin, who was once captain of the royal knights. The difference is she has no idea where he is and is searching for him rather than just going to visit as Justice is. Eventually, the storm dies down and they start to head out again, ready (they can only hope) to face whatever is in store.

Winter Festival « Thread Started on Dec 1, 2011, 9:17am »
Welcome, welcome, one and all! Need an escape from the harsh cold overtaking Era? Then Duchess Adrian Bane is pleased to invite you to the grounds of the Desert Palace for a Winter Wonderland hosted in a comfortable, temperate environment~ (No really, she is pleased to have you and is in no way only hosting this in attempt to prove her festival will be the best one.)
In light of the err.. "unfortunate disappearance" of Her Grace, the Lady Marcella Velloa of the Western Waters, the Fall Festival cannot be held as usual on the ground of Riptide Castle. In order to compensate, the Lord Nikolai and Lady Adrian have agreed to each extend the summer and winter festivals to compensate.
During this unique Fall-Winter festival, all Winter prizes will be released early right alongside the Autumn-themed events and prizes. The majority of the decor will change over the next month, shifting more toward winter and away from fall as time passes. The Winter Festival will take over fully on New Year's Day, with a grand party held on New Year's Eve!
This year, fall's primary mascot will be the image of the Legendary Bird Trio; Articuno, Zapdos, and Moltres (as Autumn's wind mixed with one of each other season's elements) images and merchandise will be found throughout the event. Lesser mascots will be Sharpedo, Jellicent, Drifblim, and Honchkrow- representing Dark, Water, Ghost, and Flying respectively.
Meanwhile, celebrating the glory of Winter-like Pokemon- Ice, Psychic, Fighting, and Steel- this year's primary mascot will be Jirachi, while secondary mascots shall be Glalie and Froslass, Gardevoir and Gallade, the Hitmontrio, and Klinklang.
Likenesses can be seen throughout the festival, and- excluding the primary for obvious reasons- their basic forms will be in the prize exchange all season long~
During these next few months, the courtyard will be transformed into a vast fairground hosting such things as the following:
Holiday Cheer~! For most of December, the decor throughout the festival will be chock-full of every manner of winter holiday themes from all sorts of cultures (although, admittedly, it will be mostly commercial-Christmas with candy canes and flashing lights and Santa Claus and little elves and presents and oh right I think there may be a nativity scene over there maybe I'm not sure; most everything including religious-Christmas will be here, but the superficial one is the most extravagant and Adrian Bane does nothing subtly.)
Winter vs Fall Appeals Contest Two contests will focus one on each season, with the top two from each festival facing off in a glorious event. This event should be taking place quite early, before Fall's involvement elsewhere officially ends, but exception will be made to include it if issues arise to postpone it.
The Great Winter Gala Is one night really enough for any ball? Of course not. Thus, beginning Dec 21, the grand hall of the palace will be opened each night for nearly a week of dancing and sophisticated socializing, ending with the biggest celebration on Christmas Night.
Token Exchange Store. Even if you don't win a big contest, the festival has plenty of opportunities to win either tokens or money~ In fact, as a means of showing her endless sympathy and doing her part to help after the tragedy in the capital, this Festival's exchange will include a wide variety of PokeBalls (as the country's main supplier was unavailable at the festival's start). LINK
Rides, Games, Food, and More! Ferris wheels, tea cups, darts games, guessing games, hot dogs, cotton candy, and just about anything else you can imagine~ (Even one mid-sized roller coaster, because Adrian Bane is so much more gracious a host than those other cheap-ass nobles~)
For the most part, the last bit and general carnival atmosphere is free-play, and you can play your characters winning inconsequential prizes like stuffed animals or anything that isn't a Usable Item (potions, evo items, etc), money, or tokens. :3
However, a few times through the month Staff will post an announced topic with a special game/event/contest which will give out tokens and other prizes. Think of it as a sort of promo, though depending on the details of each topic, there's no solid guarantee of getting free stuff, just a chance. ;P SOMEONE will win something, but it may or may not be everyone.
For those who haven't been around for past festivals, Tokens are just another form of currency given for various prizes. This is tracked on a per-character basis, not per-player, and all tokens are non-exchangeable. ^^ You can certainly trade the things you've bought with tokens, but in order to win big prizes they must be accumulated on a single character. ;3 This just puts that little extra challenge in, and prevents people with masses of characters (*coughI'mLookingAtYouMahBirdehcough* x3) from having an advantage over those with less~
Feel free to reply with any questions about the festival. Please let us know here if you're interested in the contest or if you have ideas for another event as well. The apparent amount of interest will help determine exactly when these events will be held.
We hope you enjoy the festival~

(* DISCLAIMER - Any claims or decision made 'by' Adrian Bane may or may not be done on her behalf by her PR team.)
Also someone appears to have put up a number of fliers around the palace sputtering some gibberish warning against staying too close to the castle without the safety of a crowd. We assure you there is no such danger and the Duchess is absolutely sane. Please disregard any rumors of disappearing guests or torture chambers.
(Note: If you had any prizes you still needed to claim from games in past festivals, you may still do so. If the threads aren't in their original boards, they will be in Festival Archives, where you may still post.
Naturally, any older festival threads may still be played out. You simply cannot make new ones for any festival but the current. :3)
