Homeward Bound -------------------
While on the way to visit her brother, Justice lets her Togekiss take a break in the Tanglethorne Jungle and is greeted on ground-level by Seles and her Ditto, Duke, who has taken the form of a human. They introduce themselves and, as the conversation continues, Justice tells the woman where she's going, which prompts Seles to mention that she, like Justice's brother, is also a knight!
As the weather starts to pick up in an uncharacteristic snowstorm, the group looks for cover and finds a small hut in which they can take shelter and set up camp. Seles tries to make it more comfortable by releasing her Arcanine, which causes long-supressed memories from Justice's childhood to start coming back. While she is able to quell them at first, they prove too much and the girl eventually breaks down from her fear of fire and Fire-types. As she hallucinates that the hut has caught fire, Seles, Duke, and the other Pokemon present all try to calm her, to no avail.
Eventually, it occurs to one that if they can just find the Togekiss's Pokeball and release her, perhaps she will be able to calm the poor girl. After a brief search, they are able to find it and the Togekiss successfully comforts her trainer. After some time of letting Justice calm and offering as much comfort as she can manage, Seles mentions that she wants to meet someone as well: her cousin, who was once captain of the royal knights. The difference is she has no idea where he is and is searching for him rather than just going to visit as Justice is. Eventually, the storm dies down and they start to head out again, ready (they can only hope) to face whatever is in store.

It seems the Easter Bunny has been through Era, but he dropped a whole basket of eggs before they could be finished and hidden! D: Just look at the poor things!
:D You know what I bet would make them REEEAAALLY happy? You should take the eggs and paint them! ;D Who knows? Maybe if you do a good job something reeeaaally SPECIAL will HATCH from them!

x3 For this event, which runs from today to 11:59pm EST on Sunday, Apr 15, you may submit UP TO fifteen different eggs, limit three per character unless you have less than five total characters. In that case, try to keep it pretty even. If you have three chars and submit fourteen eggs, give them 4, 5, and 5; not 1, 2, and 11. :P
You must start with one of the eggs shown above. It doesn't matter if you end up replacing all the original colors on it. The egg you "started with" determines what kind of hybrid is inside. There is no limit to how often you can use an egg. You can use fifteen different ones out of the 26 available, or you can use the same egg fifteen times, or one egg seven times and then eight other eggs, or whatever. Any combination is fine as long as you remember to say "which" egg you supposedly "painted".
Each egg MUST look like an EASTER egg, NOT a Pokemon Egg. (Ex: polkadots are good, blue with white Azurill cheek spots isn't; stripes are good, yellow with black Elekid stripes isn't; etc.) Each egg MUST be different from any of your own or anyone else's. There are bound to be some that end up similar, but they should always be clearly coincidental on further inspection. If it's discovered someone has taken someone else's pattern and color-swapped it, they will not receive ANY eggs. Trying to color swap your own will just result in those not being counted.
After the event is over, each egg will hatch into a definite-hybrid of one eastery Pokemon (listed below) and one or more random Pokemon! :3 You will have a 5% chance of a 3-species hybrid and a 1% chance of a 4-species hybrid. The PRETTIER AND/OR MORE CREATIVE/ORIGINAL your eggs are, the better chance you have of stronger/rarer Pokemon being included in your egg.
You also have slightly higher odds than normal for alternate colors (regardless of quality). We'll say double, so 10% for Shiny, 2% for most things. .... 8U OH WAIT, what's THIS? Hey! Hey you, come back here! Give those back!

WHEW! T__T THAT was close. Dx It seems there are a few Smeargle hanging around like vultures just DYING to dye these eggs themselves! You'd better be careful. :X I predict a roughly 5% chance that these guys might want to paint your little babies even AFTER they hatch! Probably in some fancy eastery colors. Of course, special Smeargle-dyed Pokemon won't pass down their colors, so it won't affect your breeding, but still. I'd watch the poor things closely! (xP Or not.)
Note that this is not an art contest, and poor quality with an obviously good concept will still be given high points. Coloring the outline is a good way to improve quality, also, as is increasing the number of shades. If you aren't too confident with Paint, look up a tutorial- and I DO recommend and borderline require you use Paint or a similar program.
(Also, though quality ISN'T the end-all of judging, if you save as JPEG I swear I will shoot you. PNG or transparent-GIF only please. PNGs can have a background or not; it won't count against you. If you don't know how to make a transparent GIF, don't safe as GIF; it'll more likely mess it up than anything. Just stay safe with PNG. ...............Unless, of course, you WANT a really "shitty" hybrid. :B If you want Magikarp/Rattata/etc, make that shit as intentionally bad as possible. It STILL has to be original and you can't just submit a blank egg or one with a few pixels, but make it horrible and save as JPEG and you'll guarantee a horribad hybrid. x3)
When posting PLEASE INCLUDE:
The character the egg will go to. WHICH EGG YOU COLORED. The colored egg, of course! :3 I recommend making one image that has both your starting egg and the finished egg next to it.
^___^ The eastery Pokemon you might get are as follows, and include bunnies, lambs, chicks, ducklings, seeds/flowers, and eggs.
^_^ Please note that while the color determines which hybrid you get, the colors do NOT correlate to what is inside (unless by sheer coincidence) as they have been pre-painted with a base coat, making it impossible to tell what is underneath. If it wasn't obvious, they're also not in the order listed.
X3 Also note that I am not immune to this game. If I want eggs I will have to color and submit some too with the same quality rules. I will have Jay or possibly some other staff randomize the species list to match to eggs so that they will have a different pattern than I will, making the only difference between my participation and yours the fact that for everyone else, the dark green egg will be one species (for part of the hybrid) and the light blue always another, etc, and for me they will all most likely be another. It doesn't change my odds of getting any specific species at all, though. :3

Since there are a LOT of possible eggs, I'll help you out a bit. If you name ONE Pokemon from the list that you really want most, I will give you a vague hint of which egg it is in. That will improve your odds of getting it. ;3 Even if there's still a chance you'll miss.
I was thinking of giving a hint for all, but I'll make you put forth the effort to ask and also that way they probably won't all be said. x3 So there's less chance of someone who's really good with that kind of thing figuring out for sure what any eggs are by cross-examining clues or something.
As a note, when I refer to the "top half", it means the first 13 reading left to right, so the first three rows and the light red one on the fourth. The other three on the fourth row and all the rows below it are the "bottom half". Left and right just split columns evenly. Warm colors refer to red/yellow/orange-ish and the two pinkish ones on the left; cool colors refer to blue/green/purple and the two pinkish ones on the right; dull colors refers to the softest colors, whites, grays, and browns. All of the color ones should be roughly 10 eggs each if you're having trouble deciding what qualifies. All hints specify less than 15 eggs. :B I'm just giving different hints for all so people don't all get the same sets. Which hint you get is random.
Egg1: Salem stared at the egg that he was supposed to be painting. This is frivolous.... he mentally sighed before looking sideways at Brina who was happily painting her own egg. Not wanting to disappoint her, he took what artistic design talent he had and started to coat the egg.

Egg2: Haiiro didn't know wtf he was doing. It had been forever since he had ever painted an egg, and what few memories he had of such consisted of him later chucking said egg at someone. However, after -ahem- some pressure to at least try, he decided he might as well.

Egg3: Though his mood was lower than usual, Felis managed to pull together some paint and things, if only to make Rosa happy. As he worked on the egg, he actually felt a bit of satisfaction come to him, and a quiet smile touched his lips.

Egg4: Jack always knew he had issues. However, after finding himself spacing out as he painted his egg and zoning back in to find that Third was thinking of something quite different than Easter eggs, he sighed and decided to just leave the egg as it was.
Egg5: Jayme stared at his egg for a while and seemed to frown a little. He couldn't decide what to do with it, it seemed. However, a thought suddenly hit him and the double meaning of it only shortly after. Well, he did want to be a fully trained pokemon nurse, and it was Easter....
Egg6: Nami might have started watching Maggie and the Ferocious Beast...... or maybe, after years of neglect, she had returned to it. Either way, something in her was suddenly reminded of it as she stared down at her newly painted egg. Face/tabling, she sighed and fought back nostalgia.
Egg7: "Is that a Naruto reference to Tobi?" Indi asked looking sideways at Luana whose eyebrow raised in stoic confusion. Oh, he guessed not. "It's Tigger," she stated flatly frowning at her own lack of creativity. Indi only smiled.
Egg8: ......Lyall face/desked and groaned. He worked so hard, and it still looked horrible.
... I want a Farfetch'd. :U I don't even... just... I do. I've actually really been wanting one for a while I've just been too lazy to go searching. XD (Also, I'm just going to add eggs to this post as I go. :B)
Egg one: Rubi stared at the egg silently for a long few moments. She'd finished her "masterpiece" a little while ago but... eggs were a lot more difficult to paint than skin was to tattoo. It just looked so... silly. Oh well. What was done was done. She wasn't about to paint over what she'd already worked on. Hopefully it wasn't too unrecognizable.
Egg two: Ruka excitedly looked over her cute little egg before giving it an affectionate pat on the top. Spots~ Blue spots, of course! Did anyone expect anything else from her? If so... well, they're silly!
Egg three: Tom was not pleased. This was completely absurd and... "You can hardly see the yellow, Tom," came a curious voice from beside him. Turning his attention to the girl, he sighed. "I know, Rosa... Discreetness is sometimes a good thing," he tried to explain. "Oh... Okay then." Clearly she still thought he should be more colorful but... this egg was finished. He'd just make the next one more flamboyant to please her... Why had Lance left him? ;-; ((Also, this egg was done by my boyfriend. X3 If that disqualifies it, that's alright. I just wanted to include him in my craziness and it was appropriate for Tom. XD))
Egg four: Arcadie grinned mischievously as she looked over her finished product. It wasn't eastery at all... but it was HER egg and it was eastery enough for her. She loved it. Just creepy enough to properly portray her own interests while not... really being creepy enough to disturb anyone. Wait... was she being... caring for the feelings of others? She decided to add more eyes...
Egg five: Jemma had taken a while to actually calm down enough to hold a paintbrush straight enough to paint his egg, but when he'd finally gotten his giddiness down to a minimum and started, he got excited again! This was just too much fun~ When he finished, he actually made the mistake of hugging the egg and had to repaint the majority of it, anyway... but he loved it, regardless<3
Egg six: Jemma got a little lazy with his second egg. After all, that first one was just so much work that he decided it was best to just... go easy with this one. Stripes. Simple, yet elegant~
Egg seven: Tom stared at this new egg. "Colorful enough, Rosa?" he asked, showing it to her. "Oh, that's much better. Why the random blue stripe, though?" Pulling the egg back, he peered at it. "I figured it would be too plain without it," he explained, to which the princess looked quite amazed he'd thought of it. Still... it was pretty random.
Egg eight: Arcadie grinned at her next masterpiece, extremely proud of it. Will-o-wisps, which Flambeau was observing excitedly. Incredibly well done, an amazing idea. Not eastery, of course, but of course that was her way of doing things.
Egg nine: Ruka giggled slightly when her Leucistic Dratini held up his finished egg. She'd chosen a blue egg (well, duh) and let him do whatever it was he wanted to it. It was cute. Quite appropriate for the little sea snake, too.
Egg ten: Rubi shook her head at the second egg. It was even worse than the first one, though a bit more holiday-appropriate. That is, if anyone could determine what it was supposed to be. She needed a fine paintbrush and she didn't have one, so it just looked horrid to her.
Egg eleven: Jemma put the final touches on his third egg and sighed gleefully and with relief. He had almost thought he wouldn't get to finish this adorable masterpiece! A little double-sided tape went a long way for those fuzzy ears and he currently wore the headband they'd previously been on. The damage done to them to get the ears off was mostly minimal; he'd just have to add some cloth to it later to make it immaculate again.
Egg twelve: With the previous, more serious eggs, Rubi had decided that a more light-hearted one was in order. "Haha, look. It's corny," she expressed to a random passerby, receiving a strange look before the person was quickly retreating. She snickered. So worth it.
Egg thirteen: Okay, so admittedly, Arcadie was a little crazy but this egg she at least attempted to be a bit less... creepy. It wasn't entirely void of strangeness, but at least it wasn't outright Halloween-like.
Egg fourteen: Ruka simply smiled at the last egg she'd done. Simplistic, random designs. That's what painting Easter eggs was all about, right? :D Regardless, she loved her eggs and just couldn't wait to see what was inside of them~
Egg fifteen: Tom just... gave up at this point. Colors. That's what was required, so he just randomly splattered red and blue on a yellow egg and was done with it. It wasn't until this point that he peered at the eggs a bit more closely. ... Pokemon eggs. Wait, he'd need to feed more mouths? His head promptly met the table, startling the princess next to him.
Ari was putting the finishing touches on an egg when he felt a slight nudge at his arm. He then glanced over to his right, and saw his friend Faith. Faith was his egg painting partner who now lay asleep right beside the boy. Ari let out a light smile before putting down his egg , paint brush and his glasses. The Boy then put a blanket over the girl before leaving the room to go and sleep.

Hope stared at his egg and had a completely blank expression. This poor egg is all he could think .
X'3 It suddenly occurs to me that I can go ahead and determine general type of partner(s) and do rolls for submitted eggs and be doing sprites for the babies WHILE the event is in progress; I don't HAVE to wait until AFTER. SG is smart like that.
Egg One: Ana bit her lip, tenderly holding the egg as she put the final touch on it. It wasn't anything complex, but she still thought it was pretty, the same thing her grandmother used to say about her. When finished, she set it somewhere to dry. As soon as that was done, she'd hold onto it, never let it leave her side.
Egg Two: Charisma was never really one who put pride in her artwork, but the bassist was proud of this one. Her hand was steady as she made the final details. When done, she sat back and admired her work. It may not be the best egg, but this little guy was the most rockin' little Easter egg in all of Era.
Egg 3: Tray sat back and admired the egg he'd just finished painting. This by far would beat out all of the rest of them; after all, he made it. A smile crossed his face; it would probably be a good idea not to tell him it wasn't exactly symmetrical....
Egg 4: Tempo studied her egg as it dried; the design was rather simple, but she gave it her own little twist by changing the colors to two of her favorites. She gave it a nod of approval, resisting the urge to put her initials on it.
Egg 5: Holly gave a squee as she finally finished it. It was so pretty! And all the colors! She practically bounced as she just looked at it. It was just so CUTE!
Egg 6: Fang's dark eyes remained focused on her egg, painting it just as if she were tattooing herself. However, nothing about this egg looked Eastery; it was...unorthodox, to say the least, but it was her masterpiece.
Egg 7: Ty sighed, looking at his egg; he'd done his best, but he didn't see much special about it. The flames were kinda....eh. But still, it wasn't that bad...eh. He was his own worst critic, he supposed. Maybe it was alright, after all. He smiled.
Egg 8: Sean finally finished his egg; he'd put alot of thought into this, and he figured what better painting for an egg?
Egg 9: Kel blinked, staring at this eyesore. It was bad enough he was hung over like never before, but now he was staring at...ohgod. "How far does a man have to fall to get drunk and paint an egg?" Grah. He missed the days when he had to worry about having knocked a girl up instead of what he lent his horrible artistic skills to...
Egg 10: Ari.
Egg 11: Ace.
Egg 12: Muse had the perfect image in mind, however art was in no way her thing. Her idea was to put musical notes of different bright colors onto an egg. But every time one didn't look right, she blotted it out. Her end result ended up having ONE decent looking note and a bunch of scribbled out ones. Oh well.
Egg 13: Mikey
Egg 14: Mason didn't know why he was painting an egg. Oh right, because his writer told him to, that's why~ The man facepalmed as he finished painting shades on his egg, fighting this strong urge to crawl out of his writer's head and beat the crap out of the guy in front of the computer.
Egg 15: No one knows how it started. Chase Tagran had found an egg on the ground, and was aiming to paint animal-looking stripes on it when a purple haired woman snatched it and began painting on it in purple. Then Jade came up and added some green, followed by Wolf, then Damien, who painted a creepy smile on it before Chase snatched it back. What resulted was a massive scramble for this one little egg, before one Joel von Meijer strolled up, whacked everyone with his wooden spoon, then took the egg home and attempted to pretty it up the best he could.

Vicki couldn't believe she had been talked into painting an egg to begin with and was even more surprised by the color choice. Purple......like Jack's hair heh.... ah well, she'd give it a shot. The end result ended looking more like a flaming monster rather than the Gengar looking through purple flames she had wanted but hey, Vicki never claimed to be an artist and never wanted to be.
Egg 2:
Sofia had been excited when she had been able to choose an egg to paint. Painting was so much fun, and of course she had to use ALL the colors... Plus rainbows were so pretty and Easter-ish so it worked~
Egg 3:
Elayne smiled as she put the finishing touches on her egg and turned it over carefully. Painting eggs had always been fun for her when she was younger and that certainly hadn't changed. She had to wonder if the baby inside knew what was being painted on its shell...perhaps she would see if Elly would be able to tell later but for now Elayne would just enjoy the finished product.
Egg 4:
Miguel finished painting his egg and sat back, he certainly wasn't the best artist around but he was happy with what he had done. The sword and the shield were at least clear enough that it was easy to tell what it was but that meant little considering they were rather easy to paint to begin with. Sighing Miguel dried his hands (which had become covered in paint during the process) and resumed going about his duties while he waited for the egg to dry.
Egg 5:
Carly had jumped at the chance to paint an egg after all it was fun and- oh shaddap who cared if she acted like a little kid once in a while. After fiddling with a few ideas (and repainting the egg quite a few times) Carly finally settled on one idea. A puppy was cute and well besides that and bunnies Carly wasn't very good at drawing much else... so a puppy it was~. It had taken a while, mostly because Carly wanted to make it look perfect but the end result was sooo adorable she wanted to just hug the egg and never let it go...probably would have too if the egg still wasn't wet from paint heh ^_^;;
Egg 6:
Chizuru had stared at the egg for quite some time before finally figuring out what she wanted to do. It probably wasn't the most original idea but it was special for her so cherry blossoms would simply have to do. Besides, cherry blossoms always bloomed in the spring so it was perfect for Easter.
Egg 7:
When Jae had brought an egg home and told him he needed to paint it Dedrick had just stared blankly at his older sister. .........paint an egg...... that was girly stuff..... before going back to his Mario kart racing game. Wait.... Princess Peach kind of looked like Rosa didn't she.... What no of course he didn't have a crush on Rosa or Princess Peach that was crazy and and GIRLS HAD COOTIES!!! Deciding to paint the egg after all, Dedrick painted it with the first thing that came to mind (which just happened to be Rosa/Princess Peach). He initially had put the princess in a nice blue dress but of course Jae just had to come along and paint it that atrocious pink D''X
Egg 8:
Jalicia had had a hard time deciding what she could paint on such a small egg. It wasn't that she didn't have ideas it was well...she was supposed to paint the egg versus design outfits which was more her forte and she just wasn't that great at painting. Looking at Nerina who was waving around her ribbon covered shell Jalicia smiled before looking back at the egg...well shells were always pretty~ that would work.

Delilah was very artsy.... but Easter was one of her favorite holidays. So instead of anything awesome, she painted a fluffy bunny with hearts all around it, because what could possibly beat a bunny? She then got bored and decided to make a traditional egg too.

Van happened across the festival and noticed the egg-painting going on, and snuck in for a few minutes. Finding an egg the color of aged parchment, he began scrawling a passage from a favored novel onto the egg. ...Of course, given the paint quality, large brush, small font, and his total chicken scratch, it was all but illegible even to him when he was done. ...Ah well. Maybe with a magnifying glass and a serious effort some judge or passerby might recognize it...? Eh, good luck.

Alessia Egilart stood next to a lovely blue egg with lighter blue swirls and markings brushed over it. It was simple, but pretty, she thought. Not far from her, an egg lay alone. It was sky blue, literally painted like the sky, and on all sides, top and bottom included, various birds flew around it. From where she sat, she could see a cardinal, a blue jay, and a... hawk of some kind? ...Heh. She certainly wasn't about to say out loud she didn't recognize the bird, especially if her husband was in earshot. ...Said husband, however, was suspiciously absent, which would have seemed odd to anyone who knew them, because he shouldn't have had any qualms about standing next to his wife with her egg. In fact, it was really a little odd for him to run off too far from her at an event like this, where he didn't know too very many of the attendants. It was almost as if he was avoiding or hiding something. ...Cough.

Eli always liked Christmas more than Easter. It was much more vibrant and jolly! Easter was fun too, but it was also really soft and kind of somber, and didn't have as much good candy as Halloween. So Eli painted his egg like a present-- Christmas or Birthday, take your pick-- instead. xB

Ryan wasn't really good at this sort of thing, but Kitty wanted to come participate in the egg-painting so badly and.... /sigh... All right fine. He found a nice red egg and.... ................................................. Wow that... Was that even fire? .... He was going to blame this on his head injury. Obviously he was just still struggling with some things from his concussion and he absolutely did not just suck that badly at this. (God he hoped.)
Meanwhile, Kitty painted a (crappy) pink kitty on an egg, along with some pink and purple hearts, stars, squiggles, etc. ^w^ It was byooteemous.

Crystal was enjoying the event more than most; this was her time to shine~ She was an artist (and not a nurse), and she was going to show that~ With a lot of effort, but fairly little time, she ended up with a wonderful spring day: partly cloudy sky, rolling hills, a cherry tree nearly done shedding its blossoms, and a field of colorful flowers in the foreground stretching down part of the bottom of the egg~
