Homeward Bound

While on the way to visit her brother, Justice lets her Togekiss take a break in the Tanglethorne Jungle and is greeted on ground-level by Seles and her Ditto, Duke, who has taken the form of a human. They introduce themselves and, as the conversation continues, Justice tells the woman where she's going, which prompts Seles to mention that she, like Justice's brother, is also a knight!

As the weather starts to pick up in an uncharacteristic snowstorm, the group looks for cover and finds a small hut in which they can take shelter and set up camp. Seles tries to make it more comfortable by releasing her Arcanine, which causes long-supressed memories from Justice's childhood to start coming back. While she is able to quell them at first, they prove too much and the girl eventually breaks down from her fear of fire and Fire-types. As she hallucinates that the hut has caught fire, Seles, Duke, and the other Pokemon present all try to calm her, to no avail.

Eventually, it occurs to one that if they can just find the Togekiss's Pokeball and release her, perhaps she will be able to calm the poor girl. After a brief search, they are able to find it and the Togekiss successfully comforts her trainer. After some time of letting Justice calm and offering as much comfort as she can manage, Seles mentions that she wants to meet someone as well: her cousin, who was once captain of the royal knights. The difference is she has no idea where he is and is searching for him rather than just going to visit as Justice is. Eventually, the storm dies down and they start to head out again, ready (they can only hope) to face whatever is in store.

Marco couldn't hold back the laugh at that, not that he was trying. "Expert? You severely overestimate me, darling." It was as if she honestly expected him to know what he was doing. And right now he was making it up as he went along about as much she was. He hadn't even noticed that the 'darling' had slipped out.

His smile swapping a bit of amusement for tenderness, he added, "I'm willing to leave 'what now' up to you." He wanted her to know that she could set the pace of...this.

This, however, darkened when he said it was up to her. She'd never really thought a whole lot on this subject until now. And the whole idea of saving yourself for marriage is a lot easier when you never really have anybody.

Tentatively, a hand slid up Marco's shirt to let her dark purple fingernails trace a pattern on his bare back as she kissed his neck, leaning into him. "I...I don't know. I've never really given this sort of thing much...thought, until now..." Her heart knew he was sincere here, her body knew she wanted him, but her mind was debating. "Uh...let's....just see how this goes, she whispered, leaning up and kissing him gently, but letting her lips linger on his.

Charisma's touch was enthralling, and Marco's eyes half-closed when she kissed his neck, but he was still listening to every word. Despite his lifestyle, he understood. He really did. He hadn't always been this way, after all; maybe he'd tell her someday exactly how pathetically awkward he had been as a teenager. He just wanted to make sure she didn't feel like she was being rushed into anything.

He kissed back softly, one hand finding its way to her hair and toying gently with a few strands while his other hand stroked her back, remaining on the outside of her shirt for the time being. He pulled away very slightly, whispering gently, "If I ever do anything to make you...uncomfortable...just tell me...okay?"

"You know I will, but it means alot that you'd say that, Honey," she whispered softly, leaning into him, still rubbing his back.

The moment however, was ruined when a newly awakened Babygirl jumped onto a chair, onto the kitchen table, and then leaped gracefully onto Marco's head.

"Purrrow?"

Charisma bit her lip, tears coming to her eyes as she tried not to laugh.

The sudden feeling of paws on his head made Marco jump a little in surprise, being so wrapped up in the moment that he hadn't realized at all that Babygirl had come into the room. However, this was a man who owned an Espeon who had been doing much the same thing since she was an itty bitty Eevee, and thus his next action was an attempt to look up at his new fluffy hat, cracking an amused grin. "Hi, kit-kat. Are you saying you want kisses too?"

He reached up to gently pull the Purrloin kitten off his head and hold her in his arms instead. He planted a little kiss on her fuzzy forehead and scratched her under the chin, chuckling and wearing the slightly dopey-looking smile that Babygirl tended to induce in him.

Marco couldn't summon even a tiny bit of annoyance toward Babygirl--she was just such an adorable widdle kitty cat and he wuved her so much yes he did--and so he simply chuckled at Charisma's comment. "Yeah...looks like the kitty has spoken." He stroked Babygirl gently, his voice becoming a particularly adoring coo, "Though I'm wondering if kit-kat would let me take her mommy out for dinner tonight."

He flashed Charisma a grin, just to confirm that that was a genuine asking out. Of course, that did mean he'd have to go home and fix himself up...You know, eventually.

Charisma smiled as Marco offered to take her out to dinner, and she gave a small chuckle. "Yeah, I'm pretty sure she will. I mean she'll get leftovers, and a few hours with the house to herself."

Babygirl gave a purr, snuggling into Marco in agreement. She still wasn't too sure what was going on, since she was still a kitten and all, but she liked Marco, and she much preferred being the center of attention. But ooooh....food.

Marco chuckled at Babygirl and gave her another little kiss on her head. "Good, because I think I know just the place, and they'd definitely have leftovers worthy of the kitty."

If they were open. He knew the restaurant he was thinking of was fine, not being all that far from his apartment and well away from the wreckage, but he wouldn't be surprised or blame them if they'd closed up for a little while anyway. He really hoped they were open, though, because it really would be the perfect place to just enjoy dinner together.

Another thought came to him. "Hey...maybe her and Lilac could have a playdate while we're out?" He wouldn't have even considered suggesting it if he didn't think his espeon would be on her best behaviour, and the mental image was so adorable.

The kitten nodded her little head, and Charisma smiled at the suggestion. "Yeah! I think that'd be perfect for the little one. I say we have ourselves a plan." Charisma looked at Babygirl, who gave a Mrow of approval, jumping out of Charisma's arms and parading about happily.
