Welcome to Era, a once-prestigious kingdom, and now a mere shadow of its former glory. Rebel forces have dethroned the monarchy, aiming now to bring down the nobility. Ambitious Nobles meanwhile vie for power, though others simply wish to keep what they have. Others are Loyalists, believing some former-royalty could end this anarchy. Then there those who see a prime opportunity, and others who don't care at all. Some form Gangs, fighting for personal gain or unique causes, while others are more interested in the resurfacing of Shadow Pokemon. And naturally, there are those who just want to ignore everything and live their personal lives. There are no clear lines in Era.

Again, there are no clear lines in Era. As such, many characters have more than one affiliation.
Be respectful, friendly, and PG-13. Listen to staff and be nice to each other and guests~ Lower end of PG-13 for the box, too, generally, please. People can avoid topics they don't like, but the box is just kind of out there in the open.
Dark font only, please. Lighter colors can clash with some skins.
When discussing works of fiction, no spoilers. If you want to discuss too much, make a topic in the Socialize board. Kthxbai~
Do not link adoptables and/or ask for clicks. If you want to put something in your signature on the board, that's cool, but asking is just annoying.
Have fun, or face the consequences. D< (The consequences may involve chocolate.)

Jacob was destined to lead his family's buisness with high hopes of wealth and glory... which were cut short by the unexpected pregnancy of his then-girlfriend. She never runs out of energy, and loooves to talk to everyone, though the recent bombings have humbled her a bit. Homeward Bound -------------------
While on the way to visit her brother, Justice lets her Togekiss take a break in the Tanglethorne Jungle and is greeted on ground-level by Seles and her Ditto, Duke, who has taken the form of a human. They introduce themselves and, as the conversation continues, Justice tells the woman where she's going, which prompts Seles to mention that she, like Justice's brother, is also a knight!
As the weather starts to pick up in an uncharacteristic snowstorm, the group looks for cover and finds a small hut in which they can take shelter and set up camp. Seles tries to make it more comfortable by releasing her Arcanine, which causes long-supressed memories from Justice's childhood to start coming back. While she is able to quell them at first, they prove too much and the girl eventually breaks down from her fear of fire and Fire-types. As she hallucinates that the hut has caught fire, Seles, Duke, and the other Pokemon present all try to calm her, to no avail.
Eventually, it occurs to one that if they can just find the Togekiss's Pokeball and release her, perhaps she will be able to calm the poor girl. After a brief search, they are able to find it and the Togekiss successfully comforts her trainer. After some time of letting Justice calm and offering as much comfort as she can manage, Seles mentions that she wants to meet someone as well: her cousin, who was once captain of the royal knights. The difference is she has no idea where he is and is searching for him rather than just going to visit as Justice is. Eventually, the storm dies down and they start to head out again, ready (they can only hope) to face whatever is in store.
(See link at the top for greater detail of the above and more plot thereafter! Thanks to Tere for this detailed desc and various smaller help with these spotlights.)
Ancient Eran legends say this was once a great singular mountain overlooking the land, and the nesting place of dragons. Some say that when knights began to rise up to slay them, the great dragon queen split the mountain apart herself and carried her brood far away; others that wizards combined their powers to either destroy the mountaintop or teleport it off. ...Of course, ancient Erans didn't really understand what a "mesa" was, and in truth that's all this is, though there are a few Dragon-types around at least. A ridable flier or advanced rock-climbing skills are highly recommended when trying to explore this ancient landmark.
A fairly harsh expanse of terrain running along its border with the West. It is not so hot or unforgiving as the desert. There are a number of small rivers and scattered watering holes throughout even still, however. Naturally, as one gets further north, the grasses become more meadow-like, while further south they become thinner until it fades into the desert.
This city is a sanctuary in the middle of the desert. It is surrounded by a massive wall of sandstone with ancient architectural carvings on the sides. The entrance to the city forms a stone archway. Within the walls are those escaping the endless desert. It is a pleasant place to stay, and the sunsets are especially beautiful.
The arena used for the yearly Era tournament. It is the only coliseum in the entire region. The exterior is made of metal which shines in the desert sun. Inside the amphitheater are many seats and the floor is reflective.
Once a fully-functioning shadow pokemon factory, this lab fell into ruin at the fall of Nolan and the fall of Alice after. It has been fought over quite a lot after the fall, yet it has been taken up by a researcher named Yue Leon Alias and is once again in function.
Even the most experienced of explores may find it hard to come across this ancient library. It was said that once long ago, a queen commissioned for the library to be built and stocked, but now it is buried all the way to its highest pillar in sand. To get in, one must climb through a window in the pillar and then scale downwards. Inside are seven stories filled with not only book shelves lined with history but also relics of the different times in Era's history. On the very bottom floor, a large map made of floor ties depict an ancient wart of some sort though the bulk of it is covered in sand, and on many of the free walls, there are tile images of historical events. Some have said that there is a specter in the library that guards it from bandits, though none can be sure of just who or what it is.
Home of the resident noble - the duchess of the south. This blinding white palace exists in the middle of the desert on one of the highest dunes. It casts a large shadow over the sands and is the only thing in miles. Its architecture is unique for it has tall pillars, domes complete with spires, and several watch towers. Growing outside its walls are vibrant desert blooms and palm trees.
This vast desert seems a massive 'sea' of quicksand that fills more of the area than not, and the thin sand making a wave-like effect in the wind. Fortunately, it's shallow enough that most adults can wade through most places. All the same, it's probably a good idea to stay close to the solid places if you can find them just in case; look for cacti and shrubs. Perhaps more than the water-like qualities, however, another mysterious factor contributes to the sea impression: an abandoned ship, allegedly a pirate ship, sitting wrecked out in the sand. Of course, everything of real value has been long-since stolen, but many adventurers still search in hopes some small secret was missed. Rumor has it some modern-day sand-pirates wander the area in much smaller vessels seeking unfortunate travelers to pillage, but these are most likely just children's stories.
A sparkling pool of fresh water in the middle of a desert is the definition of paradise. This palm tree-filled speck of relaxation is the closest to a tropical vacation spot that Era has. It was once a popular tourist destination, and now it is mostly forgotten.
A still-thriving city just north of the Orren border. While far from a tourist attraction, it has long-since been famous for its high-quality metallurgy of every sort, which is the primary source of income for this industrial town. When Nolan began suffocating the rest of the economy, Anvilla seceded from his rule, relying on its trade with and proximity to the Orre to continue working as its own entity. Only recently have relations been mended with Era, though the town remains particularly rough to outsiders due to its long period of near-lawlessness.
Deep out in the desert is a somewhat active volcano, the last time it erupted was 50 years ago. There are deep craters that lead down into the volcano's core. Deep within in its bowels are pools of hot lava, that sit waiting to resurface. Before you reach the volcano itself you will see hundreds of trees that are burnt and dead, these were the trees that were hit 50 years ago.
A mighty ravine that was carved with the hands of heavy winds. The same gusts still toil at its steep rocky walls today. An ancient stone tower sits among jagged outcroppings at the highest rise in the middle of the gorge. The area surrounding it is relativly flat, which makes the tower a good place to rest. The only path across this precipice is by way of a rickety bridge. You could climb down the walls and see if you can make it to the other side, but that might be just as treacherous as the first option. Barring those, you'd better hope you can fly over, or you'll be making a very long trip around. During Nolan’s reign outlaws took refuge in the gorge and some still do.
Lexicon City is one of the most advanced cities in Era with it’s high skyscrapers and factories covering every inch of the city. The sky in Lexicon latterly turned gray with smog as the factories continued to expand. It was said that the city has one of the highest employment rates in Era as jobs could be found left right and center. However, after the rebellion the city took a hard hit and many of the factories shut down causing thousands to lose their jobs. Poverty hit the once busy streets causing the smug filled city to lose what little glamour it had left. Despite the many abandoned factories, business buildings and rising crime, the city it's self is still rather busy and most people will travel here to find work.
