2.5. Timeline

The following shows a timeline of exactly when major historical events occurred in relation to VC, in order to help everyone stay on the same page when creating characters and personal plots~

• Dec 1989
  Nolan is crowned the new king of Era. Economy begins to slowly decline, small and selective at first, escalating in turmoil over the years.
  
  
• Feb 1996:
  In Orre, Ein gets the idea for Shadows and begins research.
  
  
• Dec 1996:
  The winter that would freeze shut the mines begins.
  
  
• Apr 1997:
  The state of the diamond mine is discovered.
  
  
• July 1997:
  Nolan issues first in string of increasingly heavy taxes.
  
  
• Sept 1999:
  Heavy tariffs are placed and trade quickly drops.
  
  
• Feb 2000:
  Era officially enters near-isolationism.
  
  
• Nov 2000:
  Cipher is officially founded; begins building in private.
  
  
• Apr 2001:
  Team Snag'em is developed by Cipher and sent out to steal Pokemon for research and Shadowing.
  
  
• Jun 2002:
  Cipher goes public. Chaos erupts.
  
  
• Apr 2003:
  Cipher falls to Wes and Rui; goes underground.
  
  
• Aug 2005:
  Nolan bans Pokemon training.
  
  
• Jan 2007:
  Cipher reappears officially.
  
  
• Jul 2008:
  Cipher collapses to Michael; XD001 defeated.
  
  
• Aug 2008:
  Without the support of Cipher, Nolan starts falling; shit hits the fan all over Era.
  
  
• Nov 2008:
  Adrian Bane becomes Grand Duchess of the South.
  
  
• Also Nov 2008:
  Nolan declared dead.
  
  
• Dec 1, 2008:
  Alice is crowned. Taxes are eased greatly and Pokemon training becomes legal again.
  
  
• Feb 2009:
  The Rebellion occurs; monarchy dismantled.
  
  
• Later Feb 2009:
  Feliciano Rossi becomes Grand Duke of the East.
  
  
• Jul 2010
  Yue Leon Alias regains control of the Shadow Lab.
  
  
• Aug 2, 2010
  Akira Naozumi becomes Grand Duke of the North.
  
  
• Sept 2010
  Marcella Velloa, Duchess of the West, goes missing.
  
  
• Jan 2011
  The Shadow Lab becomes operational again, and Shadow flow back into Era slowly begins.
  
  
• Late May, 2011
  Akira is deemed unfit to rule after a series of mental breakdowns over several months; Nikolai von Einzbern is appointed as acting-Duke while he recovers.
  
  
• Nov 26, 2011
  Two large bombs are set off in the Capital, destroying the Clock Tower and demolishing much of the Commercial District. Only the latter would be repaired. At the time the identity of those responsible for the attack was unknown.
