Continuing from the Sign-Ups, which ARE still open! Feel free to sign up~
SO SG FORGOT SOMETHING. x'3 Please post in this topic prior to starting your threads TELLING ME EFFORT VALUES for each Pokemon. (I only need its name and species here otherwise.) Basically, you get 510 points to divy up among your Attack, Defense, Special Attack, Special Defense, and Speed. No more than 255 can go to any one stat, though only 252 make a difference. Since, as stated, this tournament will run damage calculation (with some mild variation for more unique cases), this just gives you the opportunity to specialize. Each 4 EV points will add one extra stat point. Adding 252 each to two fields and 4 to a third is recommended and easiest on mods (mostly me x'3), but you can divy it up more if you like. Please be sure to note this is for YOUR OWN Pokemon, NOT the ones you'll be battling with via the roulette. :3
Short version of EVs: You have points. They make you stronger. Just tell me which fields you want to be stronger in. (Ex: Atk: 252, Def: 252, Speed: 4) x3 SG will handle actual stats. ALSO, if you divy it up so that two or more stats are even, please tell me which you want MORE due to how I'm doing IV's; don't worry about IV's otherwise though. 'x3

If two of your own chars get pitted against each other, you can just make a single large post summing up a quick battle and progressing the one you think would win, though you're ALLOWED to have them battle for real with a mod judging if you want. For Round 1 I'm just going to put char names and Pokemon name/species, so be sure to look at the Sign Up thread to find your team's full info. And finally, the first person listed in a matchup has priority to start the thread, but they can allow the other player to if they want. However, if the other player declines, it remains the first's responsibility. Treat the battle as taking place outside on the palace grounds, and PLEASE include "Name vs Name" in the battle thread as either the whole title or in parentheses or something. x3
DUE TO DESIRE TO KEEP THREADS ACTIVE, ALL PLAYERS MUST[/u] POST IN THEIR BATTLES AT LEAST ONCE A WEEK IF THEY ARE ONLINE AT ALL OR THEIR TURN WILL BE FORFEITED, continuing once a week until they post. THREE WEEKS WITHOUT POSTING OR ONE FULL MONTH WITHOUT SHOWING WILL CAUSE YOU TO FORFEIT THE MATCH. Apologies to any this inconveniences but we can't have the tourney sitting for months, right? 'x3;

Because it was asked, I'll specify here. You will KNOW what you're battling with, but will NOT have a chance to get to know them prior to the battle.
You CAN play your own Pokemon under the other person's control FOR THOUGHTS, but you CANNOT control their actual actions. And no "Omg Vulpix refused to attack her friends!!" x3 All the Pokemon should know that they're expected to do this, even if a lot of them might not LIKE it and disobedient ones will generally stay disobedient.
Also, you CAN enter other people's battle threads as spectators/cheerleaders. x3 Just don't get too distracting.
For battling, you are allowed UP TO two moves per turn, but NOT every turn. About half the time should be all right. Not necessarily every other post, just if you go two or three doing it you should then go the same number with just one move. (Three in a row should be cap.) Also, we ask you not use two DAMAGE-DEALING moves in the same turn more than once per Pokemon. :3
For charging two-turn attacks, if used alone they will be executed in one post, where if used with another move, the other will go first regardless of order stated (in the event of "Pokemon used (2-turn move) and then (normal move)" narration, the poster will be asked to edit), then the charge will occur with the hit coming in the next post round. Whether used alone or with another move, moves that require recharging such as Hyper Beam will prevent a damaging or afflicting move to be used in the following turn. (No Crunch or Toxic, but one Captivate would be fine.) A move used during a recharge turn will go last regardless of speed.
When posting, the first person should select a Pokemon, then the other, then the first will attack, then the other. Speed, not post order, decides hit order. After an attack turn has been taken on each side a mod will come in to post after each full turn.
EDIT: No more than one of each Recovery move may be used per Pokemon, excluding Heal Pulse, which can be used as much as you want, just not self-aimed. This means most Pokemon can use only Rest, and only once. If Ditto transforms into different Pokemon through the course of the battle, its Rest does not reset. If a Pokemon has Rest and Recover, it can use Rest once and Recover once. Alternate means of recovery through abilities and such are unlimited, but of course items cannot be used as with most tournament scenarios.
