Orion had to fight off the next few words that came to his mind, and instead, green spheres shot rather accusingly at Rigel who looked back at his prince and said nothing. After a few seconds, Orion looked back again and stared at Alia. As the jewelry was produced, Orion found himself confused. She'd found something of the queen's and yet it didn't have her name on it? However, when the name was stated, something in the prince's mind sparked a little.
She did not have my mother's ring... Orion's mind threatened rather viciously, and for a brief moment, his eyes narrowed at the ring that was held forwards. However, slowly, Orion reached forwards and took hold of the right twisting it around and inspecting it as carefully as he could. Looking inside at the name engraved, Orion found that it did indeed say Jennifer. That fucking bitch....how the hell ... where the hell did she even get this? I never had one sign of my mother and right here...what the .... Of course his mind went to cursing Alice as it did often enough.
After a brief moment, Orion fought the urge to suddenly take off running with the ring and actually held it back to Alia forcing a somewhat blank expression on his visage. He didn't want it. If Alice had had it then fucking hell he didn't want it. Even if it was his mother's....if that little wretch had had her hands on it, he didn't want it any longer. "Interesting," the black haired young man forced himself to mutter after a few seconds.

Alia watched the man before her carefully, noticing a wave of anger and resent within his eyes. She obviously struck a nerve, but he wasn't showing it. When he began to hand it back to her, however, she stepped back, keeping her hands up in an almost innocent manner.
"Oh no," she stated. "That's not for me. I obviously got what I could out of that ring, so it's of no use to me. Besides, that ring seem rather valuable. Since you're looking for treasure here, I believe you would get more use of it compared to me." She turned around, but kept talking to 'Noah'. "What am I supposed to do? Am I to tell people that they are the key to restoring Era with only a piece of jewelery to back me up? A rather weak and foolish way to go about it, I would say."
She didn't feel like leaving just yet. She still wanted some more information, and since Orion didn't want to speak, maybe Noah will share what he feels on the subject. It's as good of a chace as any.

Orion's hand retracted a little, and green eyes stared down at the ring for a brief moment. Ugh that bitch... came to mind, yet after a few seconds, he pushed back the thought and ended up putting the ring in his pocket. Looking back at Alia, the prince shook his head. "You're weird," was all he answered back with though a bit of a smirk was now on his features. "Gold is still gold, and money is still money." That being said, Orion had no intention of selling the ring. If it did belong to his mother, Orion preferred to keep it close.
Looking sideways at his trainer, Rigel made a sort of 'heh' sound but didn't say anything just yet. In truth, he had expected more of a negative reaction from Orion, but the young man had held it together well enough, it seemed. After a moment, the Lucario slowly began to turn and walk around the room inspecting it carefully. 'I don't think anything else is here, Noah' Rigel spoke his thoughts out towards both his trainer and Alia.
Orion let out a sigh and slowly reached back setting his hands behind his head like he would a pillow. "Guess we'll have to look somewhere else, c'mon Ri," he said looking towards Rigel before making to walk forwards. "Ri" which came out sounding more like "Rai" then "Ree" sighed, rolled his eyes, and started to follow after his trainer.

Alia sighed in defeat. They keep avoiding the subject, and it was really getting on her nerves. She could be blunt about it again, but that is what led her to be in this perdicament in the first place. Maybe it would be best if she just left the castle and let Noah be about his own business.
The girl stepped aside, letting the trainer and his pokemon through, but as they walked out, Ellie kept pawing at Alia's leg. "What is it?" Alia acknowledged, finding the Purrloin started to follow them before looking back at Alia again. Alia just shook her head in displeasure. "Let them go about their business. They obviously don't want to talk to--" The trainer was interrupted by Ellie screeching, enough to make Alia cover her ears from the unpleasent sound.
Now that was a first. Since when did Ellie start acting so forward? Well, if her pokemon wanted to do something helpful for someone, how could Alia oppose such an act? "Fine! If you want to help them search, I'll come along, but only because of you." Ellie gave her own smile before jogging up behind the Noah and his Lucario... Ri, was it? Could be a shortened version of his full name. Alia kept true to her word and caught up with her pokemon, staying well behind the two before her.

As if Alia's final admission of helping the man and his Pokemon was actually all it took, a Togepi could be seen up ahead. The little Pokemon was running around the burnt-out hallways of the castle without a care in the world. His giggling easily reached the trainers and their Pokemon. Although it didn't seem he was being watched over, there was a lazy-looking Heracross just... lounging.
In addition, there was a faint roar from outside. The noise made the Togepi pause and perk up.

Orion was walking rather quickly down the hallway. Though he wasn't sure where he was going any longer, his speed almost appeared as though he had somewhere he needed to be and was now late for something. His Lucario, meanwhile, kept up with him and didn't seem at all fazed by how quickly Orion was walking. The screeching of sorts was enough to cause Rigel to jump a little, yet his aura skills allowed him to be more aware of the pokemon and woman behind himself and his trainer. Thus, he knew it wasn't anything dangerous as of now. Looking back for a brief moment as Alia was now catching up, Rigel smirked a little but didn't say anything.
Ugh why is she following me? Orion mentally groaned. Though she had given him the ring, he didn't want it. Though she was talking to him, he didn't want to talk with anyone. Though he wanted to be alone, he was being followed. Despite this, he didn't shoo her away or walk faster. Instead, he actually slowed down a bit. It was only when he actually slowed down that Orion caught sight of a Togepi moving down a different corridor. Stopping, Orion had to take a double take. Rigel, who was walking so quickly behind Orion actually smacked right into his trainer causing the price to take a few steps forwards in the process. "Ow, damn it Rigel," Orion snapped. The Lucario was quick to back up and shake his head a bit silently.

Alia was basically following her pokemon's lead at this point. She honestly felt like leaving, her face holding a slightly bored expression. There wasn't much to do anymore, since the only person here wouldn't talk and the rest of the castle was totally bare. What else could she find here other than silence...
Suddenly, Alia heard a sound like a light chuckle. It didn't sound human, which then the realization of what it could be widened her eyes full, a rare sight to behold for those who know her. At that time, the owner of the giggle swept by a different corridor, making her and Ellie stop and watch it go by.
"A Togepi!" Alia exclaimed, totally ignoring the little scene that happened with Noah and his Lucario. Based on what she learned from her mother, such a pokemon is very rare. To be able to see one is such a delight that Alia couldn't help but want to keep a closer eye on it. As such, she started running after it, but kept to the corners of the corridors as to not startle the creature.
By the time she caught up with it, she noticed just how cute it was. Very small, still in its egg (even though it was natural), Alia smiled by the time Ellie started to show a hint of jealousy toward the way Alia was acting around this Togepi. However, before either of them could make a move, a faint roar was heard. The Togepi paused, just like Alia and Ellie. 'What was that?' Alia asked herself, trying to remember what would make such a sound.

The Togepi briefly turned his head to blink curiously at the human that was apparently following him! "Tooki~" Almost immediately after stating this, he turned and started to scurry off again. If the two humans knew the layout, of course, he was heading toward the courtyard... and thus, outside.
"KARAAAA!" Suddenly, Karrablast! One attempting to kick Rigel in the head... and promptly failing one way or another. If the Lucario didn't move, the Bug-type at worst felt like a tiny pebble hitting him and then falling onto the floor. If he did move, the Pokemon was sent flying into a wall and slid to the floor. In either case, he immediately started to cry.

Watching as Alia went after the Togepi, Orion blinked and sweat dropped. "Jeeze girls and cute things," the black haired young man mumbled to himself as green eyes rolled a little. Rigel, meanwhile, caught the sudden rush of aura coming at him and did move quickly only to watch as the Karrablast hit the wall. Orion's head whipped to one side and stared to the wall as the pokemon began to cry. Looking sideways at his Lucario, the prince sighed a moment. "Really, Ri? Picking a fight with a bug?" Orion asked only to cause Rigel to then look offended. 'I didn't do anything...' the Lucario answered back only causing the prince to chuckle. Upon realizing that it had been more of a joke than not, the Lucario released a 'hmph' sound and shook his head. Orion, meanwhile, turned and walked towards the Karrablast. "Hey, hey don't cry..." Orion said rather quietly to the bug type. Rigel just crossed his arms and sighed.

The Togepi started to scurry off, making Alia and Ellie follow it even further. Alia started considering catching the Togepi since, after all, she was trainer. To have more pokemon would mean having proof of her understanding of them. Actually, she felt more comfortable talking to pokemon than other humans and trainers. Why she felt that way, though, was a total mystery.
After rounding a corner, the two saw that the Togepi exited a craked door letting in a lot of light. Since the entrace was behind them quiet a ways, the only other explination would be the castle courtyard. Not knowing how big the courtyard was, Alia was ready for a search, pulling out two more pokeballs containing her other pokemon. Ellie dashed out the door first, following her trainer. However, they did not expect what they saw as they exit.
"Oh my..."

The Karrablast slowly, but surely, stopped his crying and just stared, sniffling up at Orion for a long moment. Then, he promptly stood and brushed himself off with one final, long inhale/snort to clear his sinuses. <I jus' wantid tah pertect teh castle,> he mumbled in heavily accented Pokespeech. <Mama used ter teel me all about tha thieves 'n scavengers 'n... stuff. She gone now, but I needta git strongah!> Upon this announcement, he attempted to flex, but tiny arms and no real joints made this difficult... He kind of looked constipated.
Indeed, what lay outside the door was rather shocking. The Togepi was sitting upon the tail of a Gyarados... But rather than upset -- if those beasts could really express much beyond anger -- the serpentine fish looked absolutely pleased. Her tail was raised up to her head, allowing her to nuzzle the baby Pokemon gently. So far, she didn't seem to notice Alia. Or maybe she just wasn't worried.

Though Orion only had a vague idea of what exactly the Karrablast was crying about he simply sighed and pat it on the end. Meanwhile, Rigel, who actually knew what was being said, frowned a little and turned his head to one side. 'Protecting the castle from thieves and scavengers?' the Lucario repeated with a bit of admiration in his aura-induced voice. Though he didn't appreciate being attacked, he could understand wanting to defend something.
Upon hearing Rigel's words in his own mind, Orion blinked. Slowly looking up to the ceiling above before looking back down again, the prince sighed and smiled a bit. "Thanks for that," he answered back. Just like Alia, Orion felt more comfortable when pokemon were around and thus felt he could trust them more. Looking back down at the Karrablast, he offered a better smile. "It's a special place here, ain't it?" he grinned. "It should have been protected a long time ago..." he sighed deflating a little.

Uncertainty suddenly took over Alia, now suddenly thinking about slowly backing into the castle. She was doing just that too, but her back hit the corner of the door, making her drop the other two pokeballs she was holding. They both hit the ground on the buttons, making both Viny and Aideen come out, expecting a task to be at hand. They faced their trainer first, but Alia's startled expression made the Rapidash and Snivy look back to see the Gyarados before them.
'Don't panic...' Alia tried to calm herself, hoping that her other pokemon coming out didn't startle either pokemon. She tapped the back of her shoe twice, a little gimmick that her pokemon caught on to, telling them to put their attention on her. Once they all looked, she motioned them to get behind her, which they did. Hopefully, the pokemon will be willing to listen... At least the Gyarados will... "Um... Hello..."

The Karrablast nodded toward Rigel, giving him a look that essentially said 'Duh...' before his attention was drawn to the human. The nod in response to what he said was much more enthusiastic. It was a special place! Of course it should've been protected better. He didn't actually know the history of the place itself... once being ruled by people rather than the Pokemon that now inhabited it, but he loved his home. He just wasn't strong enough to ward off most intruders and it made him sad! It also apparently made this human sad... Which prompted the little creature to walk over and awkwardly pat at Orion's... shin? knee? Whatever he could reach...
Upon hearing the Pokeballs drop and seeing the Pokemon that came out of them, the large dual-Water-type looked about ready to attack. She assumed they'd been released on purpose, but seeing the look on Alia's face, the Togepi tapped the large beast to get her attention. Blinking in surprise, she looked toward the baby Pokemon and then back to the trainer and her Pokemon. Oh... they weren't attacking after all. Lowering her head a bit toward the ground so she wasn't towering over the courtyard any longer, she watched them and nodded her head at the greeting given by the girl.

The pat on the shin slowly brought a weak smile to Orion's face. "Don't tell anyone.. but it was once my home too..." Orion sighed shaking his head. "And then my cousin took it over after my dad died, and ....then nasty people burned it..." The last few words of this statement were sighed, and a rather suffering look came to Orion's face rather unintentionally. "I wasn't unable to protect it back then...but I want to be able to protect it now...." he explained.
Rigel slowly nodded at Orion's words mentally wishing there was more he could do for Orion than just stand there. Sure he could protect him from anything and everything that dared come to harm his prince, yet he couldn't do everything that he wanted to for him. He couldn't give his boy back the crown nor could he restore the castle instantly to what it was. It all seemed so far beyond capability at least at the moment. He needs followers.. and friends... Came the Lucario's thoughts, yet he didn't speak that.
Shaking his head again, Orion slowly stood up straight again and looked upwards at his castle. "Karrablast... can you help me?" the prince asked after a moment. "Just... defend this castle from... anyone who dares defile it...I can't....I'm... not strong enough..." Orion sighed quietly.

When the Gyarados lowered its head, Alia put a fist over her heart as if the extra pressure would keep it from racing. By this point, they were basically on the same level, physically at first, but once the pokemon nodded its head in greeting, Alia realized it wasn't going to attack. This was a big relief to her, making her release a breath she didn't realize she was holding. She glancned to the Togepi, giving a nod of thanks before putting most of her attention back on the Gyarados.
"I'm glad you're understanding," Alia stated, being totally honest. Well, since she had the pokemon's attention, might as well have some introductions. "My name is Alia, and these are my pokemon; Ellie, Viny, and Aideen." Alia motioned to each one respectively, eaching giving a nod of greeting except for Viny who literally bowed like a knight referring to a queen. He could be such a character at times.
"We didn't mean to intrude on anything. You see, I was just curious about this Togepi running around the castle alone. I thought it could use some looking after..." Alia then looked between the Togepi and the Gyarados a couple of times, wondering in the back of her mind of how these two found each other. "But you obviously have that role taken care of." Many people would consider how Alia is treating other pokemon unnatural. She was a trainer, but instead of wanting to capture them right off the bat, she was communicating with them like they were humans. Not treating them as pets, but as partners in life.

The Bug-type just stared up at the man in amazement. He had lived here before? They had so much in common! It was so incredible and almost unbelievable... When Orion made his request, the Karrablast nodded quickly and with determination. He would protect this castle! It would be difficult and arduous and all that nonsense from the fairy-tales and story books but he'd do it. For sure!
Hearing the introductions, both the Gyarados and the Togepi looked between each of those introduced and seemed to smile a bit. At mention of intruding, the Water-type shook her head. She wasn't intruding, really. At least, if she was, it wasn't in any majorly negative way that she could see. Alia seemed like a piss-poor thief if that was her aim. Peering over at the Togepi when the situation was explained, the big Pokemon looked amused. <He wanders alone because he knows the rooms to hide in where there will be others to protect him. I don't think I've ever met his actual parents,> she explained, then looking thoughtful.
Then, she lowered her tail and set the Togepi down on the ground. <Having one being take care of him would probably do him a lot more good than having a dozen or so parent-figures, though. I think he should go with you,> she added, pushing him gently toward the girl. Plus, he wasn't getting any stronger with all the others take care of him the way they did. The Togepi looked a little upset, but the human was new and that made her scary! Though, the idea of adventure did dim his discomfort regarding the idea somewhat.

The teen grinned at the bug pokemon's reaction and stood up tall before giving a surprising salute. Despite how much he despised protocol and the like, he found his body never forgot it. "Then I as Prince Orion charge you with this task, Karrablast, and I thank you in advance for defending our home," he grinned after finishing his salute.
Rigel blinked but couldn't help smiling a little at his trainer. Well now, that had been a name he hadn't heard in almost three years... It was nice to hear and nice to know that Orion, for all he was and wasn't, didn't forget who he was. 'Orion,' the Lucario mumbled but didn't say anything. Instead, he looked towards the bug type before kneeling a little in a bow. 'I am sure you will grow stronger, my friend' he reassured the bug type.
After a moment, Orion sighed a little and slowly looked upwards. He wasn't sure what he wanted to do now. A part of him wanted to stay close to home, but another part of him knew that he had more things to do. He had to talk with some Dukes or... something... "I wonder if that chick is still here..." he frowned a little before shaking his head "Want to help me find her, if she's still around?" he asked looking at the Karrablast.

Alia got rather confused as the Gyarados started to... speak? As those untranslatable words came from the pokemon's mouth, she started to turn to her own pokemon, not that it would help. The easiest one she could understand was Viny, but even he couldn't speak. However, there was one part that Alia did understand.
As the little pokemon seemed upset, Alia's face softened slightly as she walked up to it and crouched down, petting it lightly as to try and assure it that she was much nicer than she looked. Still, she wanted to ask the Gyarados a quesiton about this.
"Are you absolutely certain? After all, he seems more comfortable with you rather than me." During her question, though, Aideen walked over and gently rubbed her head against the Togepi, apparently doing the same thing Alia was trying to do. Viny just watched, but Ellie had her eyes down slightly, seemingly jealous at all the attention the Togepi was getting.

ooc ;; Err... before I actually put up a response: the arrows (< and >) mean Pokespeech. It's just much easier to do that than babble in whatever the Pokemon's name happens to be. If she can't understand her own Pokemon, she's unlikely to understand the Gyarados. (Sorry this took so long.)
The Karrablast nodded again with vigor, his eyes glittering with his new-found determination. With the assurance from the Lucario, he grinned brightly. <Yer durn tootin' I weel,> he responded with a fist-bump into the air... sort of, anyway. Upon hearing Orion ask him to help find the girl, he brightened even more and turned around to scuttle off a few feet. He sniffed the air at first but... bugs aren't really known for their sense of smell, per se. Then he looked at the ground, trying to find tracks... but there isn't quite enough dirt for an amateur tracker to be successful. So, tapping his 'chin', he let out a loud buzzing noise.
It probably seemed odd at first, but he was concentrating so deeply... and for good reason. It attracted three Pokemon: a Clefairy, a Burmy, and a Ledyba. An... orange Ledyba. All three converged on his spot from different directions, peering curiously at the man and Rigel. Immediately, the Karrablast asked for their help, describing Alia to the best of his memory (which, in truth, amounted to something akin to 'this short girl with bright pink hair and... and she's skinny... I think'). They seemed perfectly fine with helping him and the Clefairy began to concentrate. After a moment, it seemed she'd been able to sense, at least, which way the girl had gone and pointed in that direction. All four Pokemon headed off down the hall, the Karrablast giving a pointed look back to the prince and his escort for them to follow.
The sea serpent Pokemon nodded her head. <Of course he is more comfortable with me... He doesn't have to learn if I am caring for him. He simply survives because I make sure he does. He needs to grow, and you can give him that opportunity.> If she realized the girl couldn't understand, she didn't let on. If nothing else, the other Pokemon understood what she hoped for the young Pokemon. The Togepi giggled a bit at being nuzzled by the Rapidash and seemed to relax a bit now that he realized that they weren't all that scary! Still a bit intimidating, maybe, but not nearly so much anymore.
