All the same, she did share the sentiment. "... Me too..." Sighing, she leaned against him in a way that certainly wasn't cuddle-like at all. She didn't really see the scenery going by or even realize just how annoying the hair blowing in her face should have been (was that even her bangs or his ponytail?) as she thought on it. After a bit, she offered, "I...'m sure she's fine... She's tough, you know..?" All the same, she was worried. C'mon... You gotta come through for me...
-----
Some time later, a young and rather important nobleman neared Glacial Village, a Pokemon at his side helping him search. He'd been pretty surprised to hear from Dávid, as well as.. well.. hesitant to comply, honestly. It was... well... At least it was near a city, and that was good. Anyway, for a chance to see Alex again? How could he refuse~? Thus it was that the young man ended up scouring the outskirts of Glacial Village until he found the woman that matched his friend's description.
.... Oh. Oh wow, she-.. She was stacked. For just a moment, Alex's earlier concern actually did cross his mind, but-- Oh fuck, no, c'mon, even he had standards. A passing thought was not nearly the same as actually doing something. That said, he'd have been lying if he'd said he didn't take perhaps just a little more pleasure than he should have in picking up the woman. He'd found she was a bit heavier than expected (which probably had more to do with the fact he just wasn't that strong but ssshhh D<), and had to carry her on his back (quite find with certain parts of her pressing against him |3).
The Pokemon that accompanied him did notice the man struggling a bit and offered to help, but.. No, really, he had this. |3 Or he wasn't about to give up his 'don't you want to thank your savior' leverage at any rate. Now, where was the closest inn or Pokemon Center...?

"Yeah, she is that," he mumbled as more of a confrontational after thought than anything else. Red eyes continued to stare forwards, and legs tightened slightly on Cia as though that would somehow press the Rapidash to run faster. All it did succeed in doing was pissing off Lyall's mare, and Cia ended up making a few extra irritated neighs as she ran refusing to speed up. She was going fast enough, damn it, and this seemed like a long trek even for her!
Cia continued to run at her high speeds, and after some distorted time, Glacial Village could be seen in the distance. As red spheres caught sight of this, Lyall all but physically jumped. "Hey there it is!" he called a bit too excited at that moment. This actually occurred to him, and he fell a bit more somber again. They still had to locate Iris and make sure she was alright. Damn it she better be alright. [/scrolly] |

Alex returned Lyall's outburst completely inconspicuously. How she could fall asleep on a horse in the first place-.. Well, Cia was a very good horse, anyway... "Oh. ...I guess I should.. call..."
Unlatching herself from her pillow leader, she pulled her phone out again before stopping, hesitant. ... Actually, Dávid sounded great, she'd do that. Her brother was.. surprised, at best, and possibly a bit annoyed for the continual interruptions, but they both knew he'd always answer her calls if at all possible. "D'you.. know if he found her?" His dry question came just as expected, but though Alex had already known she'd have to answer it she still found herself snapping. "Because quite frankly I don't want him to have this number, okay?" His laugh did nothing for her mood. Their childhood friend had had the same number forever and a day, but Alex was still a little ashamed to remember it. Her own phone, however, was newer, and she'd really rather not have to change her number again.
In the end, though, he was compliant, and she sighed as she waited. "All right.." He really had to change that hold music. It sounded like the theme song to a 90's cartoon or something... =3= Some fancy business executive.. "Just a second," she offered to Lyall. After a minute or two, Dávid came back on the line. "Oh thank goodness. ... All right.. .. Yeah, cool. ... Okay, thanks again. ..... Okay? ... <_< I know.. .......... Dáv stop I-....." Oh no, not the guilt trip. Please, just-- "Fine. Iloveyoutoo, shut up, bye." With that, she hung up rather quickly, thankful that Lyall couldn't see her face burning.
"Iris is all right.. Nik's-- our guy-- he's got her at a Pokemon Center on the south side of town her, apparently." Audibly reluctant, she added, "..He's supposed to be looking for us.."
Indeed, somewhere a bit deeper in town, Nikolai had just left his Mienshao to watch over Iris where he'd laid her on a couch in the Center's lobby, and was now heading outs--... Actually it was cold. The door was glass so he'd just look out that. Yeah that sounded better.

Alrighty then. As Alex called, Lyall only partially listened. His attention was mostly on Cia and her direction, as if the horse hadn't already gone who knows how many miles without getting lost. As Alex hung up, Lyall looked back slightly again. Iris was alright? A sudden grin came to his face, and his eyes lit up considerably. She was at a Pokemon Center.... safe and alright... Good.. The name 'Nik' didn't mean much to him at that point, but it was someone, at least keeping an eye on Iris...
South side of town? Lyall quite literally whipped around. "Cia! Look for a Pokemon Cnter!" he all but pretty well shouted before starting to look around as quickly as he could fo one. Cia, meanwhile, snorted at her trainer's odd excitement and simply nodded her head before continuing to run. Upon actually seeing the Center in question, the Rapidash slowed down considerably and came to a full stop in front of it. Lyall slid down rather quickly and all but tripped on the ice as he went. Regaining his balance, Lyall started walking towards the pokemon center in question, lance still at his side. Cia snorted, wondered if she was going to be returned or not, and stomped the ground before shaking her head.

Alex slid down after Lyall, stumbling just slightly. While she knew her way around a horse pretty well, the snow and ice was something she'd have to get used to again (she really couldn't say she missed northern weather), and Cia- like most Rapidash- was a fair bit bigger than the average plain horse. A few quick pats ensured her phone and sword and everything were in place before she started to follow Lyall. As much as she tried to tune it out, she couldn't help but notice his aura seemed fairly... warm, even if that was about all she could make up it. She could only hope that was just excitement.. Beh.
She didn't have much time to think about it, however, as Nikolai's eyes-- and whole face for that matter-- had lit upon seeing that the new arrivals were indeed his friend and her-- er, "his", hehe-- boss dude or whatever. With quite a grin, he'd stepped out of the Center to green them, arms spread as if inviting a hug despite a good fifteen yards or so between them. "AL-LEX~!" The named being froze, all color draining from her face. "Mah brother from anotha mother! What. is. up, my man?"
Had Alex been a more sensitive soul, which was to say if she hadn't spent a good ten years of her life learning not to be a 'wimp', she could have cried from embarrassment. As it was, she at least got a pounding headache and a sense of dread that built up deep in her chest. Groaning, she covered her face with one hand and made to catch up with Lyall.
Naturally, Nikolai wasn't bothered in the slightest. Rather, he became a little wry. "Ah c'mon, bro. Jasna's watchin' your friend for ya. Can't even spare a hug for a brothar after I helped 'er like that?" Alex just shot him a simply exasperated glare from between her fingers. Yeah, he wasn't getting his hug and both of them knew it.
Sighing, Alex finally spoke in a voice that made bones seem damp. "Lyall..." Lowering her hand, she half-nodded a little gesture toward the.. man.. "... Nikolai von Einzbern..... current Duke of the North...." =___=
Nikolai in turn finally dropped his arms and slid his hands in his pockets instead, shooting Lyall an odd look. It was technically a smile of sorts, but more neutral than anything.. aside from that slight gleam in his eyes, anyway. "Sup?"

However, as the white -er grey? Bah lighting- haired man came out of the Center, he stopped. The articulation from the kid -he looked like a kid, pft - was enough to make Lyall quite literally blank out. He stood there just sort of staring in a mildly taken aback sort of way. At the interactions between the two 'bros' of some obscure sort, Lyall's eyes dodged both and ended up staring at the Pokemon Center while his brain systematically tuned out what had been said.... that was until his name was registered, and his head turned back again to focus on--
WHAT?
What.
The....
Hell??
Current Duke of the --.......Lyall had no words and just stood there with an expression that wasn't quite blank but wasn't quite discernible either. After a moment, an awkward laugh escaped from Lyall, and he rubbed the back of his neck slowly. He had no words. Lyall Zander had no words.

Lyall Zander had no words. Alex Tesar was too ashamed to speak. And Nikolai von Einzbern was left there wondering why no one was answering him.
... Eh, whatever. Dropping to a flatter expression, he finally picked up the conversation. "So ya guys wanna step in or what? I'm freezin' my balls off out here an' I'm way better-dressed either o' you guys." Where 'better' of course meant better-suited and not more fashionably, though the latter could potentially be argued, it was quite true. Where he had on a thick coat and snow pants and the same damned stocking cap that-... Alex had literally never remember seeing him without a bandanna or hat, now that she thought about it, which was especially shocking considering-.. Eh actually, she guessed she must have as a kid and just couldn't recall it clearly.
Anyway, while he was in all that, she and Lyall.. Well, they hadn't exactly been planning a trip to the Land of Snow and Morons. And while Nik's... colorful description didn't actually apply to her, she'd suddenly realized other parts of her were starting to ache and yyyeah let's get out of this cold right now. "Please," she said simply, making her way for the door. To her surprise, he actually opened it for her.. though the same wouldn't be said for Lyall, considering the only reason he was as nice as he was to Alex was because they were childhood friends.
As he began to walk through behind her, not particularly caring how close or far behind Lyall was, he glanced back to notice Cia still standing there, then stopped and blinked a moment. "...Ohey dude, don't forget your Rapidash there. Doubt she'd care for this cold." He smirked slightly at the last bit.
"... Nik. ... Don't."
The accused blinked, then gave something between a pout and half-leer. "What?"
"Don't."
"I didn't say shit! Just because I--" She held up a hand, silencing him for a second. It only made him more annoyed. "For fuck's sake, it's not like every--"
"Just-" she cut him off. ".. Don't."
Finally, he just leered and huffed heavily before rolling his eyes. "Bitch," he muttered under his breath as they both went in at last, causing Alex to cringe slightly. Fortunately, even if Lyall heard that, it didn't actually stand out of Nik's typical vocabulary at all, so... All right, that was fine then... So where was-.. " 'ey Jasna, how's she doin'?"
The Mienshao glanced up from Iris's side, then gave an indeterminate paw gesture that was intended to mean 'so-so, she's all right'. Nik smiled in minor gratitude at his dear partner, then looked between Alex and.. Lyall, right?.. to see how they were doing. Really, he was just kind of excited to wake this chick up, but he wasn't gonna rush them.. yet, anyway. Alex meanwhile just.. waited for Lyall's lead.

Her head was throbbing; her back hurt, and she had very little feeling in her right leg. The woman had a vague recollection of what happened, and when her eyes finally focused, she saw Alex, and Lya--oh shit. He was going to be so pissed at her. But, really with her leg having FINALLY stopped bleeding, and her clothes bloodstained, whether or not she'd be in trouble was far from the question.
"Ow...Fuck..." she murmured, rubbing her head.

Following after Nik and Alex and having to snatch the door before it closed, Lyall stopped when the -ugh fml - Duke noted his horse. Looking back towards Cia who was standing there more or less staring at Lyall with one of those 'well what are you going to do' looks, Lyall pulled out his horse's pokeball and returned his sparkling horse. The notion of the 'don'ts' was lost on Lyall, but he assumed it had to do with them knowing each other previously.
Of all the people to know, ugh....
...
Well.....
He'd think about that later. Iris. Remember Iris.
Nikolai's mumble hadn't reached Lyall's ears
As they finally came to Iris, Lyall's entire form went on edge. He took a step forwards and then had to fight the urge to step back. Damn... Forcing himself forwards still, Lyall stood then by the couch thing and stared down at her trying to fight back a sudden rush of emotion that was swamping him. He didn't say anything for nearly a minute until Iris came to which, upon seeing this, he broke into a rather fast-paced highly uncharacteristic speech. "DamnIrisare youalrightImean Iknowyou'renot butdamnthank Godyou'realive," slurred out of him before a breath filled Lyall's lungs after this, and after a moment, he sighed and managed a weakened smile. There were literally no thoughts of being angry at the moment.

For all her jealousy at his great concern, and for all that his aura still concerned her (damn her colorblindness; she hoped anyone even knew how much simpler her life would be without this shit), Alex couldn't help but chuckle softly at Lyall's response. Taking a seat on an adjacent couch, she waved casually at Iris and shot her a light smile. "Glad you're all right."
In the meantime, the Nurse Joy on duty had stepped into the lobby, having heard the door a bit before, to see if she was needed. Upon spotting the newcomers, she deadpanned a little at the sight of-.... Why were there weapons in her-.... For just a moment, she started to head over to ask them to please put away those weapons, but suddenly she realized that man who'd come in earlier was with them and.. wasn't that the new Duke? Or.. acting Duke or whatever? .... :X Oh, well.. Maybe they were his bodyguards? Yes that made sense, she'd... avoid those sharp weapons now and just kind of be over here if she was needed...
Nik collapsed on Alex's couch next to her, resting his arms on the low back of the lobby seating; he only smirked when Alex moved away. He debated introducing himself to that busty babe, but figured he'd wait to make sure she wasn't gonna pass right back out. Instead, he realized that Lyall still hadn't really acknowledged him, which oddly reminded him he should probably ask. "So is she your girl or what?" Not that it was going to stop him, but this guy was pretty huge and carrying a large object made to impale people, so it was nice to know whether or not he should wait until he was gone or not before trying.
Instead of an expected yes or no from one of them, he found the first reaction in the form of a horrified glare from Alex, as if exclaiming why. would. you. do. that?! [/b] Relative position meant she'd had to turn a bit away from Lyall and Iris to shoot him this look, but she tried to shake it off pretty quickly either way and did her best to look... uninterested? ... Was she being suspiciously uninterested? Fuck this got awkward; maybe she'd get lucky and they'd assume it was because she liked Iris instead. (As if her damn breasts weren't eye-catching enough to build that suspicion anyway fuck her life she swore she was straight.)As it was, the look was kind of lost on Nik anyway. He got that he'd obviously said something wrong, but not exactly why. Eh, maybe he was being too straight-forward or some shit. This guy was her boss, right? Mm.. Maybe he should try to tone it down a bit? ... He probably wouldn't, but maybe he should.[/blockquote]

At the question of her being Lyall's girl, Iris....blanked. No witty, half-implying comment came to mind. And this....sucked. Finally, she had to force something out before that thin time-frame where a joke became irrevelant ran out. "I'm no one's girl--yet," she replied, trying to stand up. But...she instantly lay back down on the couch. "Well...this blows. Apparently I have no use of my right leg as of yet..."

"You tell me," he challenged slightly at the question that had been posed to him. Damn though, he was just thankful she was alright.
Nik's question was what drew Lyall's attention away, and as his head turned, he realized both Alex and Nik had moved to the other couches. For whatever reason, he simply hadn't heard it. He would have blurted out something humerus had he not caught the expression on Alex's. Only to blink in another moment and wonder if it had even been there. Hu? Uh .... >_>; Maybe he was just seeing things.
Regardless, by that time, Iris had already answered well enough before adding a finishing comment which only served for him to look back at her and frown and slightly flinched at that thought. "We'll need to get ya to a proper hospital soon," he mumbled more to himself than not before standing upright again looking towards Nik and Alex.... Mmmm the Duke, lovely =3= just lovely. "........Yeah... thanks for bringing her here," he sighed after a moment deciding that he at least owed him that.
Continuing to look around the room, his eyes settled on the Nurse Joy. "Are there any human hospitals around here?" he asked if a little snippy sounding.

Alex fought the urge to deadpan at Iris's response, but managed to keep being hopefully-inconspicuous, while Nik just grinned. He was pretty sure that didn't mean she was interested in him, but why not take it that way anyway? Before he could milk that, though, Lyall asked a more serious question, and... After a few moments of silence, he blinked. "Oh you'ere askin' me?"
Shrugging nonchalantly, he answered flatly but honestly. "Hell if I know. Never been to a public hospital." Scoffing a bit, he rolled his eyes, turning a bit more sour. "Kinda doubt it though, considering what a great job my dickass uncle did of everything." He'd really never had strong feelings one way or the other about the man, but in the short time since he'd taken the Dukedom he'd sort of discovered what a mess the region was really in. Really, it wasn't like he'd have been funding charities himself, but even he knew that a zero percent approval rating was bad.
Suddenly noticing the 'really?' sort of look Alex was giving him, he snapped, "Hey I've only had this job like a month, okay?" It was hard enough just learning his way around the palace and which servants he needed to ask for what and dealing with the summer festival setting up and every immediate request that poured in to be addressed. He hadn't had time to figure out every little thing about the region.
Alex sighed and rolled her eyes in turn. "Eh, the Capital's got the best one anyway." Glancing sideways at the Duke, she asked, "I don't suppose you could arrange some transportation for us, 'bro'?" What no she wasn't mocking him. That sarcastic tone meant nothing, why would she ever do such a thing?
Nik thought on it a minute, but then half-shrugged. "Suppose I could do that." Slowly, though, he grinned. "...Depending on what you'd do for it~"
The sound of a harsh facepalm rang out. "... No."
But she was just too much fun~ "C'mon, dude, you know you love me." Alex only shot him a glare. He couldn't resist. "Well what about that Amph-"
"Fuck. Just. NO. What is wrong with you?" But she was too cute when she was mad~ He'd definitely already considered blackmail, but... Ah, that wouldn't be as much fun.
Nik's eyes slid over to Iris, though not exactly to her face. "...Your friend then--?" Alex grabbed the hilt of her sword with her next glare. Both of them new it was an idle threat, but it shut him up... for the moment anyway. "Nah I could call some'ne to drive ya anyway," he shrugged with a smirk. 'Call' actually meant 'text', it seemed, as he promptly pulled out a phone and began doing directly that.
In the meantime, Alex looked to Iris, and did focus on her face.. for all but a quick second dammit. "So what happened, exactly, anyway?" After a moment, she glanced to Nikolai just long enough for a gesture and added, "Don' worry, he should be harmless, aside from being a dickwad."
"I heard that," said dickwad muttered while continuing his texting, though the latter still seemed to have the majority of his focus at the moment.
"Bastard."
"Ass."
... Meh.
At some point during all of this, Jasna had finally left her place by Iris and crawled up onto the couch next to her trainer, lying on the opposite side from Alex. Once there, she streched out and flattened herself with her chin on his lap. If someone didn't know better, she could almost have been mistaken for a blanket tossed on the couch. Fortunately, they weren't likely to get many visitors who might come sit on her.

She'd disobeyed orders in an attempt to impress him--or mostly to handle personal business. And it backfired.
On account of this--and her still dizziness, most of the proceeding conversation went unnoticed by the woman. But she did catch Alex's question. "Long story..." she murmured. "I'll explain later." The latter comment was her way of saying 'it involves something best discussed in private.'
The woman cast a glance at Nik. "I may be one-legged but I can still kick ass if need be~" She groaned, following this comment. "Assuming this Arceus-awful headache ever passes...."

This was who was running the country up here, and one questioned why the country was still in disorder? It would be so much easier to take him out right now-- but as things continued, what moved from initial irritation went slightly to confusion which narrowed down back into irritation again. And what exactly would this Duke want? Especially to have Alex react that way. However, something about the way Nik looked over towards Iris confirmed something in Lyall and he was already making noes on how to best stab this guy. The head was too honorable for question, so maybe he'd just lance him through the stomach... or maybe lower even, pft.
However, as Nik finally complied and started texting, Lyall sighed. As the focus changed, Lyall looked back at Iris wanting to know much the same, but as Iris answered back, he couldn't exactly stop himself from looking at Nik and wish he could just...if anything kick him out of the room for a moment so Iris would explain. At Iris's second comment, Lyall just blinked and had to fight off a laugh. Damn, woman, she needed to calm down for a minute or two at least. "Yeah, no...." was what he finally answered back with before looking back towards Nik. "Well?" he asked despite only a short time had passed. No of course he wasn't impatient.

Alex did smirk a bit at Iris's threat, though Nik actually seemed about as amused. If he hadn't been so absorbed in trying to hit the right tiny buttons, he probably would have challenged her on that, but as it was she got off free this time.
The youngest of the three Black Knights did not respond immediately to the other woman's follow-up, but shortly after a mumbled 'hang on' from Nikolai to Lyall, it did suddenly hit her. "..Oh. Hey uh.. this is a medical facility. Even if they specialize in Pokemon, I'm sure the nurse has something for headaches.." Before she'd even finished the last sentence, she was already getting up to go ask about that. It was just the gentlemanly thing to do, heh.. Though she wouldn't have minded Iris making good on that threat, either.
In the meantime, Nik leered at his phone for several moments before looking up with something akin to a grimace. This was certainly only due to the content of his most recent message and not in any way because he'd been squinting slightly to read the small print. "My guy says 'e oughtta be about an hour getting here.." he somewhat grumbled. "If ya need it faster, I can try ta kick 'is ass inta gear, though.."
Alex caught most of this upon her return with a small pill. Cocking an eyebrow a bit as she deviated toward a water cooler, she deadpanned, "Does she look like she needs ta be sitting around without treatment that long?" It wasn't like their trip back wasn't going to take long enough even with a ride. She grabbed a paper cup from the side of the cooler and filled it, taking it and the pill to Iris. "Might help.." she offered a bit nonchalantly.
For just a moment, the Duke seemed legitimately annoyed, but then just rolled his eyes. "Yeah, yeah, I'm on it.." Damn tiny-ass phone.. Why had they not invented some kind of selective telepathy machine yet? Like a... telepaphone! Fuck yeah, that'd beat the hell out of this bullshit. "For the record, it is getting late, ya know." Translated: it wasn't his fault bitches were busy or taking a while to answer. ... In retrospect, maybe he should have brought a few people with him when he came out here, but meh. Glacial Village was one place he actually sort of knew and was comfortable and he didn't need a fricking babysitter all the time.
"A likely excuse." .. She had to admit, terrible as he was, jabbing him was kind of fun, in a weird nostalgic way. Looking back, she almost wondered if her behavior as a kid ever bordered on bullying.. but then she remembered she didn't care and stopped wondering again.

"Thanks," she replied, the other conversations and goings on making her head spin slightly.
"Ugh...I lost a couple knives back there...Three piece set and I got one left," she muttered with a sigh. Yeah, Iris was complaining about lost knives, not the gaping hole in her leg. At least it'd quit bleeding.
"Ah well, I'll live."

Meanwhile, Lyall's eyes narrowed a little at Nik's statement. An hour? Seriously? "Well kick his ass into gear then," he stated with a surprisingly threatening tone that came and went rather quickly. Shaking his head after a moment, Lyall did his best to cool, yet his blood was already starting to boil. Looking towards Alex and Iris, he sighed a little trying to find something more to say. "Guess we'll have to wait..." he finally sighed, two red eyes shooting over at Nikolai for a brief moment before coming back again. As Iris mentioned her knives, Lyall had to fight off the urge to question exactly what had happened, yet again. It had already been deemed that they would talk about this later, but still....
The mention of living actually caused Lyall to sigh rather than to laugh. You'd better do more than just live... was the thought. She'd better heal and get fully better... or Lyall was not going to be pleased. After a moment, he crossed his arms and then uncrossed them again possibly a nervous motion more than anything.

Once Iris had taken the medicine, Alex again took her seat next to Nikolai, and immediately regretted it. Other than a flinch and small sigh to herself, though, she made no particular note of it. It was um... a sign of peace. Yeah, that sounded like a good thing to try to tell herself. Combined with habit of just returning to where she'd been before in normal such situations, it would eh, show her comrades that this noble could be trusted for at least this much, quote unquote... Still, in the back of her mind, some little voice wouldn't stop berating her.
Nik growled to himself- or was that more a groan?- as he dealt with his ambiguous contact, and seemed to get more irritated by the moment. At last, though, he sighed and tossed his phone aside on the couch (making Jasna jump slightly before settling down again) in a manner that in no way resembled a child throwing ragequit tantrum. "Twenty minutes," he announced flatly. "Thirty tops."
Alex grimaced and cocked an eyebrow questioningly. "You really--"
"Unless you think you can walk faster," he spat back, clearly pouting a bit by this point. "I ended up having to pay 'im way too much for this. But hey, if ya don't mind the risk you could go hitchhike instead, an' I'll pay some complete stranger t'either get you home or hack you up?"
The motion to follow was some odd hybrid of a cringe and a double-take. "Hot damn, dude, don't get your panties in a bunch." Alex rolled her eyes and huffed a bit before half-flopping back against the seat. She figured she may as well get comfortable.
In the meantime, Jasna had been looking up to her trainer with a very sad face. It wasn't like Nikki to get so mad... He probably needed a hug. :3 With her best ferrety charm, she rolled several times against him, then pushed herself up a bit and nuzzled with a little chirpish giggle of sorts. She'd had him at rolling, but by the time she started nuzzling Nik was already cracking a wide grin again, and hugged his beloved partner before coaxing her back down to his lap and just petting her, as one might a cat.
Well... Now what? Egh... Seemed like Alex's friends weren't gonna tell him what all this was about any time soon, so.... He guessed it couldn't hurt to try to get to know them. If nothing else she might appreciate the gesture. "So... You guys're all just friends then?" No one said he was particularly good at this sort of thing.
Alex blinked, unamused but pretty lax overall. "Yup. That and workmates." She shrugged. Nik may or may not have actually known a minimal bit about the Black Knights, depending on how much attention he'd ever paid to her talking at home, but that part really just didn't seem like the best topic, considering.
"...Huh." Welp, that was getting old fast. Glancing to Alex- considering both of her friends seemed like they'd be perfectly content to kick his face in or worse if he didn't 'behave', and while that could be amusing at times even he could recognize the worst of bad ideas- his mind began wandering... elsewhere.

Iris NEVER got hurt this bad. Ever! She felt so helpless, so...insignificant. Like a complete failure--not to mention the fact that she COMPLETELY disobeyed orders. All of this was finally sinking in. This situation was all her fault. If she'd just stayed where she was supposed to be instead of trying to settle a personal issue--though she convinced herself it was to impress Lyall, which was only the half of it--she wouldn't be on a couch with a useless leg right now....
She clenched her eyes shut tight, trying not to cry. "Thirty minutes? If I could stay on Knight we'd have an easier solution," she grumbled, trying to keep her mind off the pain, both in her heart and in her leg. She glanced at Lyall, wishing the other guy would just leave the room so she could explain... She figured explaining might help a little, though her pride would be shattered. ...Then again, she was pretty helpless right now; what pride was left to shatter?
