Originally posted to organize our then-current nobles into a hierarchy, this topic now serves as a list showing that hierarchy for all noble-blooded characters. Whenever you make a new noble character, be sure to post here with the information below to ensure it gets added to the list. ^_^

(Note that hierarchy and relationship are an "and/or" thing, as holding power or being related to one who does both make one of Noble blood.)

In deciding orientation, please keep in mind the number of nobles already present in a region. Below is a list to help you in this, which will be updated as members reply. There can be multiple counts and barons, but only one duke per region. The Grand Duke/Duchess of a region will not counted in the tallies, as those are pretty well required positions. "Misc" positions are noble relatives who are not power-holders themselves.

Originially from the north, but after their mansion was burned to the ground, the family moved to the east until their mansion was rebuilt. Ericka fell in love with the east and the warm temperatures and stayed there even after their mansion was rebuilt. Jacob travels back and forth for business when he is needed but prefers to stay with his family as much and as often as he can.
How are they related to other nobles?:
Sofia is Alaric's cousin through her mother's side of the family because Alaric's mom is her older sister Alessia. Sofia's father is the distant cousin of Nolan.

Elayne, if Sofia's family held Count rank up north, how were they able to just move to another region on a whim? Even after losing everything, they still had obligations if that was the case. Being related to Nolan, though, they wouldn't need personal rank to still be noble, so do you want to just drop that part, or add more explanation as to how it would have worked?

I never really thought about that...umm how about they made sure that another noble family had a handle on things in the north before they high tailed it out of there? I could also say that they visit the north quite frequently to still fulfill their duties, does that work? and then the east area is more like a summer/winter home or something...they just relocated is all

With a little fleshing out, that sounds plausible enough. :3 Mayhaps they moved out east to a.. I guess being up north they'd have a "winter home" to escape harshest weather, most likely? But yar, moved out there while old estate was being rebuilt, and Ericka fell in love with it as great place to raise younglings, so she just stayed there and daddy goes back and forth for business? ^^ <3

But if anything happens that's on a hugely massive scale to sway him, then he'll go back. But the odds of that are like, one hundred million to one. So, its highly unlikely that it'll happen.

No, the children of counts are not barons. (They COULD be, but it's unlikely. x3 Just like the son of a Prince is not automatically a Duke, they're just in line for the throne.)

The rank question is asking more "What rank does the family hold?" than what the character specifically is. So his father would be either a Count or a Baron. Like Alaric's dad is a Count, and Alaric is just his heir, etc. :3 So which did you want?
