Humming softly and apparently not at all bothered by the creepy surroundings, Cricket stepped through this supposedly scary place with her Pichu and her Pichu's hybrid brother. Paprika seemed to be at least a little afraid, as she jumped at any little sound, but Vincent remained calmly curled around Cricket's neck, comforting his sister with a reassuring pat anytime she was startled. The electric-poison type actually seemed perfectly at home in the creepy surroundings..

The air seemed to chill a bit as one proceeded into the area, yet there appeared to be nothing in the area at this point. Hm.. how odd. Looks like one will have to go further inwards in order to see anything.

Cricket suddenly felt colder, which only made her more excited to be in such a creepy area; Ghosts made the air colder, after all, and she adored Ghost-type Pokemon. She hurried deeper into the area, hoping to catch a glimpse of whatever had chilled the air. Paprika shivered and tried to bury herself in Cricket's arm while Vincent also anticipated what was to come.

The air began to chill even more than before, and finally the source of it came to view. A Haunter was moving with an evil smile on his face not too far off now. Suddenly catching sight of Cricket, he suddenly flew straight up to her and made to lick her face.

Paprika just lost it when the Haunter floated over and tried to lick her trainer. In a bout of fear and a wish to protect her trainer, she used a Thundershock on the purple ghost. Vincent was too fascinated by the Haunter to do much of anything, and Cricket didn't know what to make of anything. On one hand, perhaps the Haunter was just being friendly; on the other hand, he could have been trying to paralyze her with that Lick. She stepped back and pulled Paprika into her arms. Vincent still didn't move; not out of fear but out of curiosity.

The Haunter blinked at the Thundershock as it hit him and then seemed to frown for a moment before grinning again and then laughing oddly. "Hauuuunt," he stated with a grin. "Terr....haut," he continued trying to explain it as some sort of welcome kiss.

Continuing to shake, Paprika nodded slowly and gave an apologetic "Chu pichuu..", then further explained that she had been startled. Cricket seemed to realize that the Ghost-type had meant no harm and smiled at him, head tilted slightly to the left.
"Hi there~" she said. Vincent dipped his head in greeting but made no other moves.

The Haunter seemed to nod at the hybrid and stated that was what he thought had happened. After a moment, he addressed the human again with 'haunt' and 'ter' as though returning the hello. "Haunt?" he questioned before suddenly seeming to remember something and flying away for a moment before coming back with an arm full of berries. "Haunt?" he asked wondering if the human or her pokemon would want one... or three....

"Oh.. are you giving me these?" Cricket asked, hoping to Arceus that he was indeed offering them to her. Otherwise she would have sounded like a greedy trainer. Vincent understood the Haunter, however, and reached out with both arms to take a few, using the rest of his body and tail to remain clinging to his trainer.
"Pi kans." he said, which apparently translated to 'thank you'.

The Haunter grinned and nodded at the trainer's question, and as the hybrid said thank you, the ghost type only seemed to grin more. "Ter haunt terr~!" he stated rather pleasantly translated into something of 'it's my pleasure'.

Cricket took the berries from Vincent and put them into her bag before putting the bag back onto her shoulders. "Thank you so much~" she said sweetly, smiling sincerely. Vincent seemed in awe of the ghost, and Paprika had gone to sleep, apparently spent from her five minutes of confused drama.

The Haunter smiled and then brought up a ghostly hand to his chin. "Ter ter ter," he stated more or less trying to find something to say and inevitably failing. After a moment, he just broke off and bashfully rubbed the back of his head.

"So ah.. er.. do you want to come with me..?" Cricket felt that it was a bit rude to ask something like that when she had literally just met the Pokemon, but he seemed like a nice ghost, so she hoped he wouldn't react violently at least..

Eh? Go? Go where? Did this somewhere have something? Like... treasure? o3o Zomg did she know something? What did she know? Was this a guessing game? Was he having on overly dramatic inner monologue? Why yes he was... there... that was one answer answered, heh. After a moment, the Haunter all but flailed his arms and began questioning what she knew and where the treasure was.

Cricket gave the Haunter a confused stare, then tilted her head cutely. "Hrr..? I mean like.. join my Pokemon team.." She couldn't understand what he was trying to ask, of course, but she got the sense that he hadn't quite understood her meaning..

Yay, a Ghost/Poison type Pokemon to call her own! Cricket was overjoyed as she took a Pokeball from her bag and tapped it on top of the Haunter's head.

The Haunter disappeared into the ball, and the ball itself rang capture almost instantly.
Name: Species: Haunter Gender: Male Ability: Levitate Personality: This Haunter is a bit of an odd one. He is prone to very long inner monologues and often comes to the wrong conclusions of things. He often doesn't know how to act around others and tries to test things to see their reactions. This aside, he is generally lighthearted and friendly often greeting people with a 'kiss' or rather a lick to say hello. He loves playing with pokemon and humans and likes to make friends with just about anyone he can. He rarely gets mad and only seems to resort to crying rather than getting angry.
Farther off, a Dustox could be seen fluttering past the trees. A Murkrow made a caw from somewhere, yet it was hard to tell where it actually was. This call was all but reflected by a Hoothoot's call not far from Cricket.

Cricket stared in awe at the Dustox. She had a soft spot for Pokemon with those fluttery double-wings, and she did adore Poison-type Pokemon.. She followed after the moth Pokemon, hoping to catch a better look at it at the very least.

The Dustox continued to flutter a bit completely oblivious to anyone following. He would have continued on if not for a sudden Golbat crying out and making to chomp down on the moth pokemon. The Dustox cried out in sudden fear as the large bat pokemon came swooping down to bite him.
