Zeno walked into a section of the large structure, his footsteps echoing with each move. It seemed to be uninhabited, which is a lot less than what they were expecting. "You see? There's nothing here.." His words were directed to his backpack which seemed to rattle on its own. They had been standing outside for about five minutes debating whether or not it would be dangerous, apparently it was all for nothing. Popped his head out of the bag, shaking half from the cold and half from paranoia. Just because there isn't anything at the entrance, doesn't mean there isn't anything at all. That might have been true, but Zeno was always more curious than cautious anyway. "It's better than being out in the cold. Let's go look around a bit and make sure it's safe, if it is then we can stare here for the day." Riley his itself back in the bag. I have a bad feeling about this.
Zeno made his way through the large place, ignoring the cowardly shaking of Riley in his backpack. He turned a corner to find a large dark corridor. He walked down the hall, seeing the light of the other side at the end. He drew nearer to it, seeing a clearer image of the room it lead to.

The room was large and seemed to have different writings on the walls of it. What appeared to be an Abra was looking at the walls and had a hand on his chin as he studied the structure and the writing. A Zigzagoon could be seen at the other end of the room constantly running back and forth for some reason or another. Farther off, a Shroomish stood in a corner and seemed to be eying the room as a whole.

Going into the room, Zeno found writing on the walls. He would try to read it, but he got a bit distracted by the pokemon that seemed to act a bit...strange. Well he didn't know a whole lot about pokemon behavior, but he knew that this wasn't exactly normal behavior for anything. Or maybe the whole writing on the walls thing was affecting his judgment. "Psst, Riley. Take a look at this" he whispered. Just a bit later, Riley popped out of the bag and onto Zeno's head, taking everything into view. Well this is...odd He took out his pokedex, looking at the data for Abra, Zigzagoon, and Shroomish. Now he was briefed for the most part. The nice thing about a hand-me-down pokedex, you don't have to collect data, it's already there. He wondered why the Abra was just standing there studying the writing like a human would, it could be as intelligent. Maybe it was like Riley and could project it's thoughts. For some reason, this seemed like a large possibility to Zeno, so he jumped at it. "Hey!' he called out to the Abra and the other two pokemon, waiting for them to react to his loud greeting.

The Abra turned his head when he heard a voice and seemed to raise and eyebrow. "Can I help you?" he asked in a very fluid English voice without even appearing to project any sort of psychic thoughts. The Zigzagoon seemed to freeze in place and turned her head towards the boy in a quiet bit of confusion. Stoic as ever, the Shroomish didn't even seem to acknowledged the fact that the human was there.

Zeno and Riley shared shocked expressions as the Abra spoke fluent english. It wasn't any thought projection either, Zeno knew what that was like. His voice echoed a bit, it was definitely out loud. "You can...talk?" This was much more than Zeno expected, more than what he thought would be possible even. It was a bit of a surprise to learn at first that Riley could telepathically communicate with him, the Abra can freaking talk. He walked slowly toward the Abra, taking caution now. If a pokemon could speak english, he feared what else it'd be able to do. "How is it that you can speak like that?" Zeno asked the Abra. He seemed harmless, not attacking him in any manner, so he figured he would answer his question peacefully.

The Abra blinked upon the reaction to him talking. -_-; Sigh... He honestly hoped that this wasn't going to be a rather overly talkative human. "Indeed, I can talk," he stated aloud. "And I learned from an old friend of mine, that is all." With that, he fell back into silence and appeared to all but go back to looking at the wall. The Zigzagoon had returned to rushing around a tad bit skittishly while the Shroomish just raised a slow eyebrow.

He looked at the Abra until he turned back around, then he whispered to Riley "Can pokemon learn to speak english?" The Ralts thought for a moment, then projected it's thoughts. I don't know. I can project my thoughts in the form of the english language, but I can't verbally speak it. He looked at the Zigzagoon who had gone back to running around like a crazy pokemon, and then at the Shroomish that hadn't moved since he got there. It kind of freaked him out. He wondered if they both could talk to, but he doubted this, as excited he would be of that. He also wondered whether or not they were with the Abra, this might be so since they don't seem to be bothering each other, but that might be common courtesy, if pokemon had any that is. He looked back at the Abra who was focused on the writing still. Apparently he could read too, but that's not too surprising now that he knew he could talk. He walked up next to the Abra, looking at the writing then down to him. "So....what is all this? You seem to be very interested in it." He kept his eyes on Abra for a reply, partly because he wanted the anser,, but still because it was freaking weird to it talk.

"It's an old inscription telling a story about a civilization that was even before the royal dynasty of Era itself," he stated aloud putting a hand to his chin. He probably needed to sleep soon since being fully awake was not good for an Abra. Though he was still interested enough in it to remain awake. The Zigzagoon finally seemed to grow too tired and eventually plopped down on the ground panting while the Shroomish simply watched the small raccoon pokemon.

"Royal dynasty...Era?" Zeno didn't know anything about Era besides it being huge. He only heard briefly about how Era used to be and the war that was going on for it today, it was all nonsense to him. Zeno didn't really care about Era today or how it was a few years ago, why would it matter to him how it was even before all this? He looked at the Zigzagoon who had finally stopped running around, it was funny looking at it all exhausted. The Shroomish just stared at it and...still creeped Zeno out. He turned his attention back to the writing and asked Abra another question. "Soooo, why do you find the history of Era so interesting?" It is weird for an intelligent english speaking pokemon to be interested in history. It was also strange for a pokemon to speak english as well, so he didn't expect a really logical answer.

"I find it amusing to learn about the past so that I can better understand humans and pokemon... when one studies and understand why people think a certain way, they can better react to situations in the present by seeing what has been repeated over the years," the Abra answered back rather calmly as he continued to stare at the wall. "And I assume you're an outsider for not knowing of the royalty then?" he asked rather dryly. The Zigzagoon started to lightly snore.... The Shroomish finally seemed to twitch and suddenly started hopping off down a back hallway.... >> << >> that was...odd....

He watched the Shroomish leave silently, good thing too, he thought it might randomly attack him out of nowhere, really creepy little thing. He looked at the Abra, then looked around the walls while he spoke, "Well not really an outsider, but I was never really taught about all these things. Not like I want to know, it means nothing to me." It really did mean nothing. To Zeno, the kingdom of Era was not really his home, a small house in the woods was. He didn't care a whole lot about what happened here, he cared most about pokemon. He looked at the part that Abra was reading, then at Abra. "Isn't it a bit...unoriginal, or maybe even useless to go into the past? I mean, sure you can learn from what happened already, but it'd still be a different situation than before." Zeno feared he didn't sound like he knew what he was talking about, he never really discussed things like this, and it'd be weird for a pokemon to be smarter than he was.

"Actually, if one studies things, he notices quite a bit of a pattern in history... it's all a series of repetitions, and I am comparing things as they are now to the past..." he fell silent for a bit before taking in the understanding that he didn't consider it worth knowing. Sighing a bit, he shook his head. "Ah, whether you like it or not, I have a feeling you'll get sucked into it somehow," he sighed rather dryly. "Anyways.... why are you here, may I ask?" he asked calmly. The Zignzagoon seemed to suddenly wake again and started pacing back and fourth constantly staring at the wall.

"Is that so?' Zeno looked down, thinking about it for a second. As odd as it is to admit, Abra might be right. It was possible that society could just repeat everything over and over again. "Well I think that'd be boring. I mean, if we just go in a pattern then the results will always be the same in the end. I know that I'll probably get sucked into everything, but now it seems like I'd just hate it if we're just reliving the past." This put a damper on Zeno's mood, but he was quickly distracted by the Zigzagoon that had woken up and stared down the wall. Before he could even question it in his mind, Abra had asked why he was there. "Ahh, well actually, I was just looking for a place to stay out of the cold for the day. I figured this place was empty, but obviously I was wrong." He would've asked Abra why he was here, but the answer was also obvious. Another question came to his mind however. "The Zigzagoon, and the Shroomish from before, are they with you?"

The Abra looked back and then back at the boy before slowly shaking his head. "No... they come and go of their own accord... though the young Zigzagoon seems to have a bit of a problem with that wall...." the Abra stated back staring now and wondering what had perturbed the poor thing. The Zigzagoon just continued to move around as though unsure of whether she wanted to bark at the wall or run away from it.

"No kidding." Zeno walked to where the Zigzagoon was, inspecting the same wall. There was nothing wrong with it from what he could tell, but pokemon have greater senses than humans. He looked down at the striped animal. "Is there something wrong with the wall?" he asked.

The Zigzagoon's ears folded back on her head as she looked at the wall. Suddenly, a Spiritomb came floating straight out of the wall laughing rather psychotically. The Zigzagoon squeaked and began running in circles again. Upon seeing the Spiritomb, the Abra seemed to move back quite a bit.. possibly from fear or something else... who really knew but him.

Riley jumped into Zeno's bad in fear. The sight of the creepy floating ball, the ting made the Shroomish look like a good party host. Upon reaction Zeno hopped back and drew a pokeball, throwing it forward and releasing the pokemon inside. Senith took it's full form in the room. It didn't utter a word, only stood there poised for battle. Zeno took his pokedex out, scanning the pokemon and having the information pop up in the pokedex. It was a Spiritomb, definitely not something that could just be found. It didn't seem to be as kind or friendly as the Abra with that crazy laugh, so he decided to to take the chance and make friend. Looking back at Abra who was just as afraid of the Spiritomb as Riley, he was going to attack right away. "Senith, metal claw!" the Scizor hopped up immediately, swinging it's claw toward the spiritomb.

The Spiritomb burst into yet another fit of laughter even as his form was hit by the Metal Claw. Forming a Will-O-Wisp, the dark-ghost type released the fiery burning move and then formed a Dark Pulse immediately after. The Abra was frozen where he was and could only stare somewhat horrified. The Zigzagoon cried in fear and ended up running to hide behind Zeno.

Zeno saw the oncoming will'o'wisp. There wasn't enough time for Senith to dodge it, but he couldn't just take the full damage. "Quick, iron defense!" Senith's skin hardened greatly, increasing his durability. He had to take the attack head on, it had less of an impact than it usually would, but he could tell Senith still felt it, and now he would be burned for awhile. He had to end it quick, he caught the spiritomb using dark pulse. This time he had to counter it. "Senith, flash cannon!" The Scizor shot the metallic-like blast at the Spiritombs's, the two attacks clashing and causing a small explosion. Senith jumped back from e clash, eyeing the Spiritomb, both Senith and Zeno waited so they could counter it's next move.

The Zigzagoon was flailing around now on the ground and spinning her entire body in a complete circle. The Abra watched and sweat dropped before moving over and picking up the small spastic pokemon. The Spiritomb seemed to smirk and then formed yet another Dark Pulse as though not satisfied with the first one.
