Sen only smiled in reply when Ryan claimed his answer made no sense. It really didn’t as he hadn’t given the full answer but he didn’t matter. Ryan hadn’t pushed the question any further. Instead, Sen found himself leaning his head on his hand again as listened to Ryan’s spill of answers about himself and more. The entire time Sen smile, picking away at his wings a bit as he did.
“Hummm, wow, well that’s a lot to remember.” Sen spoke up once Ryan had finished, “I guess that means it’s my turn. Well, I’m twenty-four, currently traveling with odd jobs here and there. I have no family.” The first few question’s were rather easy to remember yet he conveniently forgot to answer where he had originated from. It kept him from telling any lies for the time being, “Umm, I’d say my favourite colour is purple. My favourite pokemon is my dear Ariados and my first pokemon I believe was also my Ariados. I love sweet foods and I like climbing.”

'Climbing'? Not rock-climbing, mountain-climbing, even tree-climbing, but just-climbing? The redhead couldn't help but give a small, if silent, chuckle. And twenty-four? Heh. He was older than he looked, then.. Part of Ryan wished he could say the same, but then it was certainly nice never having to bother with ID whenever he wanted to do something. ...Speaking of ID, had Billy's said 24? .... Eh, he couldn't really remember. Mentally shrugging it off, he decided he saw no particular reason not to trust him on something so trivial, nor any particular consequence even if he was lying about some things.
"All right, 'nother round, then?" he assumed. Hm.. Since it was apparently a game of sorts.. What would Ryan like to know about the other man that he wouldn't mind telling about himself? Backstory obviously came to mind, but that didn't really meet both conditions, did it? Eh, surely there was something... "I was a bit of a delinquent in school. When I was seventeen, I stole my old Torchic and ran away from home." There was some bare-bone basics.. "I recently quit smoking." And a bad habit. ..Or perhaps accomplishment, depending how one looked at it. Seeing how Billy did would actually tell him something else about the man, eh? He thought on it a bit as he took a bite. "And... Ah, this's the first date I've really been on with a guy, I guess." Why not? Heh.. He was just a bit bored and making random conversation, right?

Sen’s smile widened for a moment as Ryan announced round two. The next few things he told about himself were a little interesting. He was a run away from home, which told Sen that the reason he only kept in contact with his little sister was because he had bad ties with the rest of his family. It also told him that Ryan was capable of stealing, but it was uncertain if he had stolen more than just that ones. He was once a smoker which meant the man must have had a lot of stress throughout his life. That, or he had fallen for pure presser rather easily. A first date with another man. Ah, so then he was counting this as an official date then? Perhaps he had more of a chance with this man than he thought.
“And here I thought you would have both the ladies and men all over you with that handsome face of your’s.” Sen flirted a little, his smile softening for a moment before he lifted his head off his hand and let his arm fall to the table. He took another drink of his beer before starting on his own answers, “I’ve never been to school and from what I can recall. As for theft... I taken a few things here and there in my life time.” He couldn’t remember his parents or his life before he joined Kel. “I’ve never smocked a day in my life. Figure there are enough things in this world that could kill me.” Not to mention that a thief needed good lungs to keep up with his job. “I’ve been on many dates with many different men.” And not one had he ever taken out for a second date. "Stole a pokemon... That's quite the crime. Don't you ever wonder if it misses it's old life?"

It wasn't the first time he'd gotten that (though by no means was Billy right about people just all over him either), but his ego was pretty eager for whatever boost it could get at the moment. It seemed he wasn't as innocent as he looked, then... That.. was actually oddly comforting. Heh.. He almost rolled his eyes at the smoking comment, but eh. He knew now how stupid it was, but what could he say? He was a kid, and still didn't do that well under too much pressure. And hm? The way he'd said that, he couldn't help but wonder if Bill was gay, then, or at least preferred guys. Not that it mattered much.
At the last bit, though, Ryan suddenly frowned heavily, putting a half-raised wing back on his plate without taking a bite. "Ah.... No..." he mumbled, voice filled with uncertainty. "Or.. not anymore than any... eh..." He cleared his throat a bit. "Blaze died," he somewhat blurted, though he seemed near choking on the words. "He was always mine, sort of.. Just.. my family's pet. So.." At this point, he took a long drink, mainly just stalling a bit. "I made up with my family a few years ago, so's not like he never saw 'em again at least.. I.... He always seemed like 'e had a good life.." [/scrolly] |

Sen was a bit shocked to hear that the fire pokemon had died. It mildly made him want to ask how the pokemon’s death about but the man seemed to be finding it hard to even speak about it’s death. The other question that filled Sen’s mind was why, if he had made up with his family a few years ago, did he not still keep his ties with them? Was there something keeping him from being able to see other than his sister? Or perhaps they had passed away as well. Eh, it wasn’t like he needed to know. Sen was certain that after tonight he would never see this man again. After all, he made his best efforts to never see someone he dated once again.
“I suppose I should apologize for bringing up a painful memory.” Sen replied as Ryan finished answering his question. He could have actually apologized rather than just suggesting that he should have but didn’t. What was the point of a real apology if there was no meaning behind it. He didn’t regret asking the question. If he hadn’t of asked it he wouldn’t have found out that the pokemon had died. Sen had never had anyone he was close to die. At least… that he knew of. “Everyone dies eventually. Some sooner than others. Dunno what I do if one of my own pokemon passed away. Never had it happen before. Wish I could say I feel for yah.” but he didn’t.
“How we switch the rolls. I’ll say a few things about myself.” He suddenly suggested, changing the subject, “I’ve never lived in one home for more than a month. Suppose I just can’t find a real home. When I was ten I almost passed away. Or at least that’s what I was told. I can’t remember it. Hummm let’s see, what else…” He set his hand on his chin as he thought for a moment, “I’ve never shed a tear since I can remember except for when I received a bit of sand in my eyes while in the desert dunes. It’s unbelievable how much you’re eyes will water when you get sand in them.” Sen laughed at this a little remembering the day he had crossed the desert with the sailor.

The subject change was rather appreciated; actually, Ryan had been intending to suggest they switch roles anyway, so this worked nicely. "Well that kinda sucks," he mumbled, but shrugged. "Guess if that's what works for ya though." As Sen went on, Ryan's eyes widened a bit. "Oh damn. Eh.. Closest I've ever come ta dyin'd be... about three years ago I guess. There.." ..Yeah, he definitely shouldn't talk about that should he? "Was a lot o' crazy shit happen. Guess I was luckier 'n some, though." He shrugged again, leaving it vague.
The crying bit surprised him a bit, and made him a little uneasy, really. Why bring something like that up was the main question. Was he trying to show off his 'masculinity' or test Ryan's? Or did he not realize how strange and honestly cold that came off? ...Meh. Ryan was out to enjoy himself. No sense getting worked up about something that really didn't matter. "I don't cry often. I did fer Blaze, an' a few other things. Mostly when I was a kid though. Like before teen kid. Don' have ta tell me about the sand, though. I grew up not far from the beach, so've seen plen'y o' salt an' sand both," he chuckled, grinning a bit. [/scrolly] |

Sen listed to the statements that Ryan gave in return and managed to eat about half his plate of food before Ryan finished speaking. So he had almost died once… Though the man didn’t explain how. Then again, Sen knew very few people who didn’t have some sort of sad story on there hands. It seemed everyone in Era had it pretty rough with the current events in their regions history. So, Sen decided not to press that matter any further. “ Before the teen years…” Sen repeated as he set down a meatless bone, “ I can’t recall those years of my life to be certain what I was like back then. Heh, but the past wont live your future. I’ve got food, drinks, and shelter. I’d say life is pretty easy.” He looked away after saying this and waved a hand towards a waiter. When the man drew closer Sen asked for a couple more drink’s before looking back at Ryan. “ If you’ll excuses me, I need to break the seal.” He laughed standing up from his seat. It had been his code that he needed to use the bathroom. It wasn’t a desperate measure at the moment but it was a good enough excuses to find a garbage can while Ryan wasn’t around to see. He needed to get rid of the idea Ryan found before paying for the food and drinks. He wanted to have no chances of the man catching another glimpse of it by mistake. Without waiting for much of a reply Sen made his way to the back of the bar, finding the door labelled “Gent’s’. The moment he made it inside his hand slipped into his pocket before tossing the card into the lidded garbage can. He then processed to do his business before making his way to the counter to wash up. [/blockquote]

Ryan blinked several times even after Bill had left. Well wasn't that just the oddest euphemism ever.. Eh, ah well. While he was gone, Ryan just went ahead and ate. ...Or rather borderline inhaled, staying borderline only due to the fact wings had bones that would probably be less than pleasant to swallow. Just a few moments after he'd gone, the waiter walked by, and Ryan decided to order another beer. Billy'd offered 'drinks' after all. If he didn't want to pay for it, though, Ryan had no problem buying whatever himself. He was quite grateful for any of it free; it didn't have to be all. [/scrolly] |

By the time Sen made it back his new drink had already been set on the table for him. He found himself slipping back into the same spot, this time lifting his legs up and folding them in front of them. As he made himself comfortable he gave Ryan a rather wide grin and asked, “ Did you miss me?” He then lifted his new drink to his mouth and took a few swigs before setting it back down. “ So tell me, what kind of work are you searching for?” He asked trying to start a new conversation rather then going back to there game, “ Can’t be easy if you don’t have the proper schooling. I know a few fella’s who can’t even find work in the field they went to school for. Makes me happy I only have myself to take care of.” Well for the most part. He still had to make sure he brought in enough founds for the group of bandits he worked for. Don’t make your ends meat and you get kicked out. Getting kicked out meant you never had anyone to help back you up or keep you out of trouble. It was just better to be with the group than completely alone. At least, that’s what he told himself. He had never actually gone out on his own before. Besides, it kept him busy and least gave him a bit of goal in his life. [/blockquote]

Part of him debated some sarcastic answer, but he eventually decided against it (half to be nice and half because nothing specific actually came to mind). When the topic changed, though, his spirits fell as his thoughts were turned back to the previous day. "I can imagine.. This economy is just terr'ble.." Maybe he should seek out some active rebels for work... heh. He really would prefer an honest job though..
"I'd take 'bout anything myself." He paused a moment now to take another drink, which turned into downing half the new glass before sighing heavily. "When I bumped inta you, I'd just gotten out o' my sixteenth interview this month... and I don' think it went well.."
Eh, he was dwelling too much now, wasn't he.. Ryan didn't want to seem too self-centered, after all. "How 'bout you?" he asked then. "How's yer luck been with findin' 'odd jobs' lateleh?" And if you've been fine, got any tips? he thought. Honestly, he'd be willing to clean Poke-shit if it was an honest living. Or bathe old people or anything so long as it wasn't too dangerous.

Sixteenth? Wow, this guy was feeling the full blow of the poverty issues in Era. Made Sen rather glade he had gotten into the profession he had found. Or rather… it had found him. Either way, hearing that didn’t make Sen want to change his ways any time soon. Not that he ever planned on it anyway. He figured by the time he was too old to continue living his life style he’d be dead anyway. “ Comes and goes.” He replied with a smirk, “ Made enough to buy us drinks today. We’ll see what I find tomorrow.” His eyes shifted as he glanced out the window for a moment. If the weather kept up the way it was now he would have to start doing some in home work. It was more exhilarating than the streets but a bit more difficult and often required trading afterwards. “ I doubt my line of work is what you’re looking for though.” his purple eyes lazily shifted back to Ryan, “ Have you tried searching down by the docks? I heard rumour they are always looking for extra hands on the boats.” with that suggestion he took another gulp of his drink and leaned back on the bench like chair before realizing how stupid his suggestion was. “ That is, if you don‘t have any ties with someone at home. I’d presume it would require you to be away from home for months on end.” [/blockquote]

If.... it came to that... Maybe he could ask Jae to keep Kitty while he sent money home for a while? But... that was a lot to ask of Jae, and.. "I couldn't abandon my little sister.." he sighed. Searching, Ryan spotted the waiter and called him over to order another drink- something stronger this time.
As he waited for that, he wondered a bit just what sort of 'odd jobs' Billy was taking that he was so sure Ryan wouldn't be interested. For just a moment, he chuckled lightly. Well, he supposed he could rule out prostitution, given he'd all but thrown himself at Ryan earlier. Possibly... just the sort of work Ryan was trying to get out of, then... Eh... Well, he'd probably be better not knowing. "Don't s'pose you've got any other suggestions?"

So the man had his sister to take care of. It meant the sailor job truly wouldn’t be a very good choice at all. Though Sen had to admit, an older man taking care of his younger sister was rather cute. Just the idea of it made the man that much more attractive to Sen. He really had no idea why it caused such a reaction. When the waiter came to the table Sen asked to have the same drink as Ryan. He wasn’t going to be out drank by another man. The question was, who would get drunk first? Sen had a rather strong immunity to the drinks and it took quite a bit to get him drunk. But that didn’t mean this man didn’t have the same strong immunity to them. As the question was asked, Sen brought a hand to his chin as he thought for a moment. “ Not if you have a sister to take care of.” He finally replied after a moment of silence. He would have suggested the not so honest jobs but… Jobs such as those were dangerous. The man would not only be risking his own neck but could also end up dragging the little sister into it as well. Sen could do it because he had no strong ties to anyone. It would be wrong for him to suggest Ryan to do work that may make the man regret his choice. “ But I find… the best way to get a job is to force yourself into there lap. If they look like they need the extra hand then do the work for them without asking. If they can see you can do the work they would be more willing to hire you.” He really wasn’t sure where he had gotten that from but it made sense to him. Now a day you really had to fight to get what you want. That was something Sen had learned over the many years of living on the streets. [/blockquote]

Not too bad of advice, really.. ... Unless, of course.. "And what happens if they just thank me fer th' free work an' go on?" he muttered before downing most of the new glass. Wasn't he just optimistic this evening?
He.. was really drinking too much. But it was still free, as far as he knew. And he had no reason not to. For one night... Heh.. Ryan didn't know whether to feel more free or useless. He sighed heavily now. "Y'know.. I used t'be able t'do this sorta thing every night if I wanted." He shrugged a bit. "An' I don' usually wanna... but I miss knowin' I could.."[/scrolly] |

Sen shrugged at the man’s question, “ Some will. But if you get a job out of it eventually then it wont matter. He grinned though it wasn’t because of what he said. The man had downed yet another drink before Sen even had a chance to take a sip of his. If he kept drinking the way he was then Sen was pretty sure he could end up getting anything he wanted out of this man. Well, he still couldn’t let himself fall too far behind. So with a swift swig, he downed half of his drink before grinning over to Ryan. “ Well it never hurts to do it once in a blue moon,” He replied before beckoning the waiter over again, “ This was rum?” He asked the waiter as he really had no idea what he was drinking. The waiter nodded. “ Six shots of rum then.” He held up his fingers to indicate six. The waiter nodded once more and walked away to gather their drinks before Sen turned and grinned at Ryan once more. He had ordered enough that knew he would end up getting pretty tipsy. Hopefully it wasn’t too much that Ryan would end up getting sick. As he waited for the waiter to return he down the rest of drink. “ So I take it you gave up your care free life for your sister?” He asked as he picked up his last chicken wing, “ I admire that. Don’t think I could do it.” To change his lifestyle for someone… he really didn’t think he could do it. As he finished talking the waiter returned with the drinks, setting three down in front of Ryan and the other three in front of Sen before leaving. Sen lifted up one of the shots and held it up, “ So, what do you say? To one night free from your hell, and the morning plunging back into it.” ((OCC: bwhahaha I got to use that line again xDDD)) [/blockquote]

Or.. no sense being rude to someone who was paying for his drinks rather. Whatever. Ryan smiled a bit at the next comment, but frowned at the toast. "Caring for my sister.." he started, possibly the most serious he'd been that evening, "is the closest to heaven I may ever be..." Perhaps a little strange a statement given the necklace he wore. The man sighed, grimacing a bit. "No, I left my hell a while ago.... an'I'mnotgoin'back..." He mumbled the end, then downed a shot.

Sen’s smile actually disappeared for a moment when Ryan spoke of his sister being his heaven. He… he had never thought of anyone like that before and for a slight moment his mind fell on the locket around his neck. It held a picture of a young girl, probably around the age of sixteen or eighteen. He had no idea who she was but he always assumed she was either his mother or sister. Who ever it was had the same colour hair and eyes as he did. It made him wonder though; would he feel the same way about this person if he ever met her? Sen closed those thoughts in his mind and the smile returned to his face, “ I was talking about the job hunting.” he laughed a little, “ It can’t be easy not having a job while taking care of someone. But I really know for sure.” With that he tossed his head back and downed one of the three shots. Then, the second and lastly, the third. This man… he was looking a tad too serious for Sen’s liking. Perhaps it was time to change the subject, “ You know… you’re eyes are really green.” Sen suddenly blurted out, leaning in on the table a bit and squinting his own eyes as he looked at the man in front of him. "Ah. Heh.." Even still... He had a choice. As things stood, staying where he was looked to be the lesser of evils. If he noticed the momentary change in the other man, he said nothing, though it was as likely as he didn't, as part of that time had been spent on another shot. The third he down just as Billy started to compliment him. As he set the glass back on the table, Ryan blinked a bit, then smirked a bit. "I get that a lot..." He sort of wondered if Billy was flirting again or just observing, but was more thoroughly debating whether or not he wanted any more to drink. He was fairly certain he could pass out now if he tried, but did he just want to sleep or go ahead and get smashed? Hm.

“ I like them,” Sen stated, still leaning in, “ They remind me of spring right after a sun shower.” the grass and leaves all looked so bright and green on those days. He considered those peaceful days. Normally ended up being the type he slept through. As he finally moved back in chair he realized he alcohol was starting to take it’s effect. It should have been obvious a few moments ago when his cheeks and bits of body began feeling a bit hotter but he hadn’t noticed until now. For some reason when ever he drank he always began to feel hot. Not hot as in sexy at least… though if you got him drunk enough he may feel that too. “ I bet you could use them into suckering unexpecting girls into helping you things.” He blurted out suddenly, mostly the alcohol talking now, “ Give them the big old growlithe eyes. I could see it working. It’d work on me.” At least the drunker he got the more honest he would become. Though It did mean would talk more as well. The heat was starting to get to him at that point and he found himself removing the top layer of his coat like shirt. Under it was nothing more but a black sleeveless shirt and his locket around his neck. On his right arm was a brown leather strap with green lining on the inside. It was nothing worth noting unless one actually knew that it was symbol of the group of thieves he was in. Normally the only people who recognized it was other thieves. On his left arm the same sleeve as before still sat there. It seemed it hadn’t been attached to the coat at all. “ Did you want another drink?” He asked once his coat was off. [/blockquote]
