A Good Day (Wess/Mod/Open)

"Don't even toy with us," Wess said, a grin on his face. "We all know it's a picture book," With a stern look his way, Wess said, "If you're not loyalist, don't even talk about sicking your little tin men on us," Glaring in his direction, the little boy rolled his eyes exasperatedly.

"You must not know about current events either. Civil War. Loyalists versus Rebels. There -are- no laws, everything is organized chaos. Gangs attack, police reform into criminals, people are dying. And as much as people want to live life as normal, we can't, because this war has done something personal to all of us,"

The little boy crossed his arms, and seemed to glare in the male's direction.

Ookami jerked backwards when Blue rushed at him. The Swablu's fluffy white wing swept across his face, wiping it clean. He sneezed and shook his head, eyes squeezed firmly shut. <Hey!> He protested when his eyes snapped open, <What was THAT for!?>

Eon sat down and flicked an ear, obviously amused, <Interesting...> He murmured, eyes glinting. <Ookami...is afraid of being clean...>

Kit was quickly losing interest in the conversation. The only reason she'd gotten involved in the first place was because she didn't like the man's tone of voice. Wess on the other hand seemed to be really engaged. At least he sounded like he knew what he was talking about. She on the other hand really didn't care about anything. Her brother had decided to do the whole rebel thing so she had tagged along.

The girl stifled a yawn and glanced down at Kitsune who was busy watching one of her many tails flick up and down. Kit grinned, completely out of it when it came to the rest of the world.

[Lady Leaf]

She couldn’t help it though. She had to clean everything she found that was dirty. It was like… an uncontrollable urge. It drived her made to see things dirty. <I-I’m sorry.> She looked rather sad now. A picture book? That was too funny. If the boy thought he was going to get to him by claiming that he was reading a picture book then he was wrong. Kero spent his days reading and studying. It was one of his favourite things to do. But it seemed the kid needed to learn about what a Loyalist was. “Boy, before you start claiming you know anything about what’s going on you need to learn what you are talking about. A loyalist is simply someone who believes members of the royal family is still alive. They hope that someday they will find one of them and re-throne them. It is the nobles who are keeping the rebels from taking over. We will not stand for the crimes and disorder they have brought across the land. It should be stopped.” Now of course many of the nobles were also loyalists but that was a small fact that he didn’t feel like teaching the boy about right now. “It is because of the rebels that the laws are out of place and the organization is in chaos. They don’t even have a leader. They are just running amuck like chickens with their heads cut off, killing anyone who tries to make a difference.” [/scrolly] [bg=brown]

Wess' eyes seemed to narrow. Oh yes, the little child was slowly losing his grasp on patience and morality. He was so close from striking without a merciful thought.

"Basically, what you just said was that nobles are loyalists who can control people. In other words, you're a wannabe noble who does his best to grasp money, and then play a chess match with those whom you dislike,"

.....What did he just call rebels? Was he even alive? Or was he so bent out of shape on his point of view, he couldn't stretch to see the truth. The thoughts that shot through Wess' head were red hot, and he could feel that anger trying to snap out. The five year old was so close to attacking.

"Rebels do not willynilly go off and kill people. That's your kind of folk's doing, after all, you and your knights may of well been the ones that raided our encampment and killed my mommy and daddy," Narrowing his eyes, he turns to Kit. "What do you think we should do with him?"

He'd been walking around the south while Kero did his work before they actually set off to travel, and during some point in that time frame, he had wandered into Anvilla. Though not much really held his interest in the area, he enjoyed it none the less. It was a nice place and reminded him of the Orre in one way or another. Chuckling a bit, the green haired man turned into a park area only to catch a sound arguing... of some sort. I... don't really want to get into other people's argume-... Alvaro froze as he recognized one of the voices. Kero? Stopping a moment, Alvaro breathed in and then exhaled rather slowly before continuing further into the park slowly catching sight of Kero and... kids? He.. was arguing with kids?... and a mess of pokemon, it seemed... Alvaro didn't know whether to laugh or just to be confused. Walking over rather slowly, he finally allowed a laugh to escape him. "What's this?" he finally asked when he was in range enough for them to hear his voice without him having to raise it. He smiled a little at those that were there. "Why's everyone so tense?" Ookami gave Blue a half-hearted glare that was quickly knocked into a smile as Eon tackled the slightly larger Pokemon.
<Of course not!> Eon answered for the Growlithe who quickly scrambled to his paws, huffing indignantly.
<You could have told me first!> He whinned, licking a paw before quickly swiping it across his face, making sure it was clean, <You just startled me.>

Kit blinked and her head jerked up as she looked away from Kitsune to her brother. "I-...What?" She asked, eyes clouded in confusion, "I'm sorry...I spaced...is that guy still being a jerk?" She asked, turning her head slightly to stare at the man that had been hit by the ball. She shrugged, "I don't kn-..."

Another voice cut across her own and Kit frowned, her train of thought colliding into the brick wall that was the words of the new arrival. She spun around on her heel, eyes narrowed as she watched Alvaro, "Who are YOU?" She asked, more than a little weary of there being a second man she didn't know so close to her.

Honestly, asking to clean his face first hadn’t come to mind. She had simply seen the dirt and well… had to clean it. “There wasn’t time to ask!” She chirped, sounding a bit paniced, “I had to get it! It was there! The dirt!” Nobles where what? This boy was barking up the wrong tree! “Don’t you even start claiming that what I do is for my own wealth!” Kero snapped at the boy, “I am the one who has put my life on line in an attempt to help bring order and safety to communities. It is I who is organizing the arrests of every known dangerous criminal who has taken life of an innocent, be they rogue knights, rebels or just crazy. I’ve seen the faces of these criminals. I know many of the backgrounds. I’ve seen their reports. I hate to break the news to you kid, but there isn’t a single report of a noble killing anyone who hasn’t already committed a crime punishable of death while more then half of the known criminals support the rebellion and have murdered the innocent. I can’t defend or deny that a few knights have committed crimes, but I guarantee you most of them are working along side the rebels you’re so eager to defend.” Most of his words had been spoken so fast that it really hadn’t felt like he had said as much as he had. “Alvaro!” Kero didn’t even seem surprised that Alvaro had shown up and instead instantly went into complaining and whining to him, “These kids are completely cantankerous! How am I suppose to clean up the streets if our kids are just as bad as the adults! I want. Better. Schools built!” He stomped his foot down a couple times with his last few words, the entire time pointing at Wess and Kit. It wasn’t until he was finished his little outburst on Alvaro that Kero actually realized that he hadn’t actually been expecting to see the man. “Oh hey, what are you doing here?” He tone changed completely, the anger and annoyance almost disappearing completely as the question was asked. It wasn’t that he wasn’t happy to see Alvaro. He just hadn’t been expecting to see the green haired man until later that night. [/scrolly] [bg=brown]

"My parents weren't criminals! They were rebel supporters who were killed when your kind attacked our encampment!" Wess shouted with a horrified look on his face. "And likely story! Although, if you keep belittling my faction and us, you're going to have a group of wanted five year olds on your hands! I mean, who do you think you are? Mister High and Mighty, Supreme Overlord of Anvilla?!"

Crossing his arms, he looked over at the new man. "Don't listen to him! He's being a... a....-" Wess's demeanor seemed to change to more of a five year old's as he contemplated a suitable word to call this man. None really came to mind, though. Everyone should be friends, shouldn't they? "A MEANIE!" he finally huffs unhappily, developing a bit of a pouty look to himself.

Alvaro tilted his head to one side and was about to answer the girl's question with his name when Kero's voice stated it before he got a chance to. Eh... better schools? And right then and there, the younger boy who had been fighting with Kero shouted something about being the Supreme Overlord of Anvilla. Alvaro found himself suddenly desperately resisting the urge to laugh as the image of Kero all dressed up in some sort of kingly wear (which in truth wasn't far from the clothes Alvaro'd already seen him in), yet Kero's question that came after made Alvaro stop a moment. Once again, he had been about to answer when the young boy... bleh Alvaro needed a name... this 'justakid' stuff wasn't going over too well.. anyways, the young boy stated that Kero was being a meanie. In another second, a laugh escaped the air. Alvaro couldn't hold it in any longer, and he simply started laughing rather hard, his body shaking a bit from the force of said laughter. He didn't even manage to catch his breathe for another thirty seconds or so. It was just... hysterical, somehow. "Kero...." Alvaro started before instead looking sideways and addressing the children in front of him instead. "Hah... hahah I'm hahah sorry...ahahhaha you're just hilarious...." he stated slowly putting a hand over his mouth to try and silence himself. Breathe... Breathe Alvaro reminded himself before slowly composing himself again. After a moment, his eye slid sideways and stared at the girl who had asked who he was. "My name is Alvaro, as Kero pointed out....and.. heh... what in the world is going on?" he grinned lightly from the kids to Kero before finally settling for a mid-ground between the two. "Something about schools?" [/scrolly]

Kit stifled her own snort of laughter as Kero greeted the new arrival with a list of complaints. "Better schools for YOU maybe..." She mumbled, eyebrows raising slightly as the man stomped his feet. Even she wasn't usually that childish...

When the new arrival, Alvaro, finally decided to talk, the laughter that proceeded it made Kit jump. The girl was petrified for all of half a second before her eyes flashed with amusement. The girl knelt beside Kitsune and wrapped an arm around the Pokemon, "Brother is right anyway." She said pushing her head against the Pokemon's, "Brother is always ri-...What about schools? They're boring and completely useless!" Kit nodded to herself, leaning fully into Kitsune and toppling the fire Pokemon over.

Ookami rolled his eyes and Eon pranced over to Blue, <I bet there was time!> He said, rolling over and grinning, <You're just a neat freak!> Ookami nodded, <We don't mind though...right Eon?!> The little brown Pokemon shook his head, <Nope!>

[Lady Leaf]

[scrolly:h(230),w(390),sy,as(padding:4px;margin-top:10px;margin-left:10px;)] “You see what I’m dealing with!” Pointing at Wess and Kit once again, “I’m risking my life for the future of- of- those. ungrateful brats!” He had just finished complaining once more before Alvaro burst into laughter causing Kero to fold his arms over his chest. He didn’t find it funny at all but he couldn’t seem to get mad at Alvaro even though he really wanted to be mad right now. Stupid kids and not believing anything he said. The girl didn’t even like school and the boy clearly knew nothing about politics. But… Well it didn’t matter how he explained it. They just used their parents deaths as a reason to claim that the nobles and knights were all evil and the rebels were saints. Well, they would be feeling a great deal of harsh reality when they found out their hero’s weren’t any better then the people who killed their parents. Ha! Most likely rebels who killed them too! Stupid kids. “I’m going to build better schools, stronger learning environments and help the education system supply better education for kids.” It seemed Alvaro’s simply question had helped Kero make up his mind, “After the streets are cleaned up.” He hadn’t really been certain before on what his next move would be to better help Era grow back into a strong region but now he felt as if it had been obvious from the start. Everyone had kids, rebels, nobles, knights, sometimes even the bumps on the side of the street. Kids growing up in bad environments, being around pain, suffering and death all their lives… well they would fell as if nothing was left for them. If he could help the kids gain better education and understand exactly what was happening in their world then that would help keep out breaks like the one over a year ago from happening again. They could even offer education to adults! It was perfect! He truly did love himself at that moment. [/scrolly] [bg=brown]

Kit rolled her eyes and stuck out her tongue. "You're right! I am an ungrateful brat." She said, a proud smirk on her face, "Aren't you lucky you got to meet me?" She pushed herself to her feet and folded her arms across her chest.

Wess nearly facepalmed due to Kit's ignorance. "Kit, you don't agree with him! You act respected..." he said irritably, turning back towards the man at hand.

"Wait... You're risking your life?! Oh, of course, that's why you're in a park, arguing with Kit and me over you being hit in the head with a ball because you have poor sideways (peripheral) vision!" He seemed to grow a bit more grumpy at the man, and a tad bit more pouty.

Wess rolled his eyes once more. "We're five. We can read, and write, and add numbers with two digits! What more do you want kindergarteners to do? School let out an hour ago!"

Kero... was risking his life having started those wanted posters, that was true. At what came next from Kero, all Alvaro could do was half smile. It seemed Kero'd found yet another project, heh... At the girl's answer about being ungrateful, Alvaro simply turned his head to one side and stared at her. However, Alvaro found himself chewing the side of his mouth at the boy's comments. "Now that is enough," he stated rather sharply at Wess for a few seconds before slowly smiling again. "How about we all calm down for a few seconds, mmmkay?" he asked looking at all three of them before starting to speak again. "Kero, you can't treat kids like adults, they're simply not the same." Reaching one hand, Alvaro took Kero's free hand rather gently and gave a light squeeze. [/scrolly]

He hadn’t heard Alvaro raise his voice like that before. And then Alvaro spoke the very words that made him suck in a deep breath for letting it out a sigh. “Ok…” He mumbled in reply, though he didn’t fully understand why he couldn’t. He had always been treated like an adult from his father since he could remember. Alvaro’s touch and slight squeeze of the hand did calm him down though. After a moment he finally looked back at the two kids. He wasn’t going to tell them sorry but he did feel a little bad for yelling at them. Kind of. Just a smidge. “But they are still brats.” He mumbled glaring at them. He just couldn’t seem to not get the last word in. <I’m am not!> Blue chirped defiantly after being called a neat freak, <Im.. Im just clean.> Which was practically the same thing. <Why are you guys out here?> She finally asked, <Training?> Her and Kero were going to train but then they had been here first so they couldn’t. She liked training. It meant she was getting closer and closer to day the would evolve and become beautiful! [/scrolly] [bg=brown]

Kit did a double take as Wess listed the things they could do. She frowned slightly. She couldn't do addition very well...then again, she didn't care about addition. She sighed and stroked Kitsune. "So if this is work..." She looked up, "...What do you do...in the park?"

Ookami stuck out his tongue, <Training!?> The puppy rolled his eyes and sighed, shaking his head. <Of course not! We're here to play! Training is boring.>

Eon nodded in agreement, <No way we'd waste time training.>

"Even if we're brats, it's better than being a spoiled busybody who can't defend himself against a stray ball from a game of catch," With a handful of balls, red light dissipated all of the Pokemon surrounding him, except for the Magnezone, whom he was enjoying as a seat.

Instead, he simply laughed to himself and shook his head. "Eh.... depends, really...." he stated back at Wess with a smile. "And now now I said no more being mean didn't I?' he asked as that sharpness once again came to his voice. "A park is a place for everyone, and the idea isn't to go fighting over an accident now is it?" he asked. Looking sideways at Kero for a moment, Alvaro just smiled a bit at the other man and squeezed his hand again in a sort of 'it'll be ok' fashion. "How about instead of arguing, we all do something fun, neh?" he asked after a moment more. [/scrolly]

He knew the only reason the little boy (Wess) had called him names was because he had called him a brat. But, he couldn’t help it! They were brats! Damn he didn’t like kids. He found himself looking up at Alvaro when he felt another squeeze on his hand. It was comforting and once again caused his anger to dwindle. This, Kero was already starting to realize, would be one of the many really good reasons he should have Alvaro around. He was good at cooling his temper and making him think clearly. Hopefully that would be the case for all the times he let his temper take over. “Something fun?” Kero let out a sigh and looked around the small park. He really wasn’t sure what they could do here that could possibly be… “My book!” He had completely forgotten about it after being hit on the head. Why the word fun made him think of his book no one wound fully understand but it was good thing he had remembered it. It had fallen off the bench he had been sitting on and was now face down on the sandy ground. Quickly he pulled away from Alvaro and bent down to pick it up, trying his best to clear off the sand. Hopefully it was still in good enough shape that Nathan wouldn’t notice. <Boring? Training?> The tiny bird pokemon asked as they claimed they found training boring. She had always found training to be fun. It meant she was grew stronger and got closer to growing up into a strong dragon! She really couldn’t wait for that day. <‘Well… what do you play?> She asked timidly. [/scrolly] [bg=brown]

"...I don't think you understand the meaning of fun..." Kit commented dryly, one eyebrow raised as she looked at Kero. "Books are not fun..."

Ookami nodded, <Of course it's boring. It's just work.> He was now walking around in anxious circles, not content to just sit down and have a conversation.

<Anything really...> Eon said, answering Blue's question while Ookami paced. <Kitsune usually plays too...but Kitsune prefers spending time with Kit when others are around.>
