Sean Finley carefully explored the Fire Pits, followed by a melanistic Quilava, who stuck close to her trainer. This was exciting to both of them, and it was something they always did, but Dawn was always protective of the collector, since he didn't always use his head. But that's why he had her, right?
It never once crossed the Pokemon's mind what Sean would think of her if she was normal colored, or a type other than fire. But it wasn't for sure that crossed Sean's mind, either.
The young man looked carefully, watching for the slightest movement. He was hoping to find something rare; something...special.

A Fearow flew overhead, staring down at the male and his Pokemon as she looked over the area. Eventually, she fluttered over to land upon a rock -- wait, no, not a rock. A Torkoal, who raised her head from her lying position to get a nuzzle from the bird.
Slightly more interesting, a Slugma seemed to be moving over a long-since hardened magma. Even more interesting was a Flareon, tail flicking in the air as he mildly spit little bits of flame. Either something had him agitated or he was doing it out of boredom.
Most interesting -- though it could be argued against -- was a Charmeleon wandering about with a slightly nervous look on his face. In his arms, held tightly and with a small amount of difficulty, was a Roggenrola.
Unfortunately, they all seem to be normally colored, but at least there are some nice Fire-types!

Sean's eyes were drawn to the Flareon and the Charmeleon. Looking at Dawn, he nodded, and the Quilava darted to the Charmeleon, eying him warily, and the Roggenrola in his arms. She tilted her head to the side, though slightly keeping her distance. Just in case.
Then, a flash of light came from his belt, and an Albino Houndour made a surprise appearance. "Dusk!" Sean interjected, wanting to go for Brimstone, the rather lazy Numel.
"Dour!" The white Houndour cried, rushing at the Flareon with a Faint attack.

The Charmeleon blinked, pausing and turning to face the new Pokemon warily, giving her essentially the same look she gave him. <What...?> The Roggenrola just peered toward her, not moving at all within the reptile's arms.
The Flareon, being caught off-guard, was knocked off his feet by the Faint Attack. Shaking off as he stood again, he growled and arched up his back like a cat, already long fur standing on end. <How... dare you!?> Taking a deep breath, he darted forward and breathed out a dark, smoky cloud of Smog at the Houndour.

Dawn examined him and the other Pokemon farther. <What's with the uh...Is he okay?> she asked, concern in her voice.
Dusk was nailed by the Smog, taking himself off and letting out an aggressive battlecry. <Oh, I dare...> he hissed, rushing in to bite the Flareon.
Sean meanwhile watched. Dusk was quite a handfull, but at least Dawn was being peaceable.

Looking back down to the Pokemon in his arms, the Charmeleon nodded. <Yeah... She's fine. I just don't want her getting lost,> he explained simply. If one could tell age of a rock, it didn't look as though she was particularly old at all. Certainly, she wasn't a child. She still stayed silent, though she did start to wiggle just the slightest bit in his arms.
The Flareon yelped when bitten, squirming to get away from Dusk. Whether or not he was released, however, he started to bristle. His eyes glowed faintly before he moved in to use Quick Attack, either simply quickly bringing his head down to attempt to check the Houndour onto his back or actually full-out tackling, depending on how long Dusk tried to keep ahold of him.

<She. Sorry...> Dawn replied, looking away nervously. <Uhm...if you don't mind me asking, why are you carrying her? Is she a baby?> the Quilava asked, her interest now sparked. She wanted to find out all she could.
The Albino Houndour found himself knocked to his back from the Quick Attack. Scrambling to his feet, he let out a Howl, then rushed in with another Faint Attack. That Flareon was going to be sorry he messed with him!

The Charmeleon slowly shook his head. <No need to apologize. Uh...> The question clearly caused him to get a bit nervous, however, and he looked down at the Roggenrola before sighing. <I just... don't want her running away. I... like her, but...> The Roggenrola laughed softly at this before explaining in more detail, <He's possessive. Creepy stalker kind of possessive.> Despite saying this, she didn't sound all that bothered...
Thanks to the Curse attack he'd used (sorry, forgot to establish that's what the glowing eye stuff was), his defense was a bit higher but Dusk's Howl made it essentially useless. Growling after taking the hit again, he shook off and came in for a Take Down.

Dawn blinked, laughing softly. Maybe, if she ever evolved, she'd try doing that with Sean....
<I understand,> she replied with a nod. The Quilava merely sat down, thinking a moment; she knew Sean wanted the Charmeleon, but....she didn't want to separate those two. Oh Arceus if only she could speak human...
Dusk was again thrown to the ground, this time by a take down. But the little Houndour was not one to give up so easily. Scrambling to his feet, he this time began to come up with evil plans, a Nasty Plot. Then, he unleashed a Dark Pulse, sending the evil energy at the Flareon.

The Charmeleon nodded, seeming grateful she wasn't making fun of him or trying to tell him he should put her down and leave her be. <So what the heck are you guys doing out here?> This came from the Roggenrola, who wiggled her feet slightly in the air.
Eyes widening, the Flareon shifted to literally throw himself out of the way of the Dark Pulse. Rolling in the dirt for a moment before righting himself, he looked startled. Lucky! Not stalling any farther, he attempted to throw a Sand Attack at the Houndour to help himself out.

The black Quilava gave a soft smile. <Oh, my trainer's out looking for Pokemon, and he loves places like this,> she explained. <He has this thing for fire types, and just fire in general, I suppose.>
The Houndour was hit dead in the face by the Sand Attack, and howled madly before blindly attacking with another Dark Pulse. No WAY he was going to be stopped that easily.

The little Rock-type seemed a little surprised at the answer, shifting in the Charmeleon's grip to look around. <Oh,> she answered, sort of noticing a human nearby now that he was mentioned. <Maybe you can steal this guy so I can run wild!> She laughed, but the Fire-type looked both embarrassed and horrified.
The Flareon was hit, despite doing his best to avoid the blindly-executed attack. He was tired now... so tired. Shaking himself off, he charged forward to attempt a use of Fire Fang. Even if his opponent was a Fire-type like himself, he prided himself on his physical strength and hoped he might at least prove, at least to himself, that he was a great Pokemon.

Dawn blinked, then shook her head. <We don't believe in taking Pokemon by force. Unless they attack first,> she explained. <Sean cares for our feelings, too.> She looked over at Dusk, who wasn't very affected by the Fire Fang, then rushed in with another Bite attack. <Or sometimes Dusk takes matters into his own hands...> She rolled her eyes. <He is such a hot-head...>

<Oh,> the Roggenrolla responded, sounding rather disappointed. She supposed she could attack them and get taken away, but the black weasel-thing had already said the human liked Fire-types so she'd probably be neglected. Better to be spoiled rotten by someone she didn't really like than neglected by someone else she didn't really like, she figured. Both Charmeleon and Rock-type looked over toward Dusk, a sweatdrop appearing over the reptile's face. This Bite caused the Flareon to flinch, leaving him cringing and unable to retaliate.

Dawn noticed the disappointment in the Rock type's voice. <I wish there was something I could do, but...nothing comes to mind,> she explained, lying down and looking from the two of them, to her trainer.
Sean however, was focused on Dusk, who rushed in with a Crunch attack, taking advantage of the cringing Flareon.

<You're lying,> she said simply. <What you're trying to tell me doesn't make any sense. If your human actually cared about Pokemon, he wouldn't let that Houndour do those things. You just don't want another Pokemon to join you because it's competition.> The Charmeleon looked down at her carefully before looking back up at Dawn and then over at Dusk. It seemed... like the Roggenrola was right. It didn't make any sense. Not that he wanted to go with them, anyway, but that wasn't the point.
The Crunch attack was able to hit and the Flareon yowled in pain. Staggering back a bit, it was clear he was just barely holding onto consciousness. As a last-ditch effort, he steeled himself mentally and attempted a Flail at the Houndour. Hit or miss, his luck would not be with him today and his erratic movements would send him head-first into a nearby pile of rocks, knocking him out and leaving him in a crumpled heap on the ground.

Dawn's head snapped up and she instantly stood to her feet. <That's not true! Dusk isn't well behaved, but he's working on it! You don't know anything about me or Sean, or his team! I don't care about competition. I don't know why he does what he does, but he takes good care of us...all of us...> The flames on Dawn's back were more intense, showing the Rock type had obviously hit a sore spot.
The Houndour was hit by the flail, and sent staggering back. The hit was enough to knock the Albino out, but as luck would have it, the Flareon took himself out also. Sean sighed, returning the Houndour and tossing a spare Pokeball at the Flareon.

<If you don't know why he does things, then don't be so quick to trust him. He's a human. Humans only care about themselves. He lets the Houndour do whatever it wants because it benefits him. He takes care of you because you fight for him. If he didn't take care of you, you'd be useless to him. Besides... obviously what I'm saying is true, otherwise you wouldn't be in such a huff about it. If what I said had no base, you should've been able to just laugh it off,> she stated bluntly. Sore spot or not, the Roggenrola clearly felt she was just stating the truth. The Charmeleon uncertainly shifted before emitting a quiet noise somewhere between a growl and a grunt before he started to wobble off, apparently feeling it was best to separate the trouble-making Rock-type from the poor Quilava.
The Pokeball rocked gently a few times before dinging in capture.
Name: Species: Flareon Gender: Male - Bi; prefers males Ability: Guts Personality: Cocky, self-centered, and something of a diva, this Flareon thinks he is the best thing that's ever graced the earth. Think of him like a high school jock. He's a battler, but a pretty boy. While battling, he won't whine or complain about the dirt, but as soon as he's won (and had time to gloat about doing so), he will begin to groom himself. That being said, he will never give up and will fight to the death... er, until he's fainted. Outside of battle, however, he will get irritated at the slightest ruffling of his fur, especially if it's intentional. Do NOT mess with his fur! D: Besides this, he is generally rather sociable, if a bit obnoxious in his endeavour to find a way to talk about himself in some way. If attention is brought to this, he'll end up confused and ending up asking something along the lines of "You don't want to talk about me? Why not?"

The words of the Roggenrola cut deep. Unable to speak, the melanistic Quilava let out an enraged cry, the flames on her back shooting out even more now. <You..you...BITCH!> She cried, suddenly letting out an Eruption, although considering the Pokemon was being held...it could very well hit both of them, or just the Charmeleon. Dawn didn't care anymore. Someone was going to pay for insulting her entire team like that.
Sean meanwhile returned the Houndour, picking up his newly caught Flareon.

Especially considering the Charmeleon had turned away to start walking away, he was certainly hit but the moment he heard the other creature cry out, he was quick to wrap around his body as well as he could around the Rock-type. After letting the Eruption wash over him and gritting his teeth against the pain, he set down the Roggenrola and turned back to face Dawn. <Look... I understand your frustration, but if you go through with this, you're no better than the Houndour you yourself said isn't well behaved. If I stood here and said this Roggenrola only said those thing for your benefit, would you believe me?>
If the answer was 'no', his response would be to nod his head and say, <Exactly. We have no reason to believe your human cares for Pokemon after watching him let one harass a Flareon who had done nothing to any of you. He could have returned the Houndour. He could have even spoken up and told it to behave first to give it a chance. He didn't. He let it beat up on another Pokemon.>
However, if the answer was a solid 'yes', he would look a bit surprised before shaking his head. <Then you really are too trusting. It's not quite normal to trust the word of someone you've just met and it seems like a dangerous habit. Regardless, I politely suggest we all take a moment here.> With that, he'd spew a long stream of black smoke from his mouth, creating a Smokescreen between them to hopefully force the moment to think just in case.
The Slugma still fiddled around nearby, seeming not to have even noticed the entire situation with the Flareon. The Torkoal and Fearow, however, seemed to have moved on during the chaos. New faces were a Magby and Roggenrola peering over (and around in the case of the Rock-type) a rock nearby. It appeared they had heard the commotion and come, curious, to see what it was about.
