It had been...hard to tell him...to say the least and well... Okita's question made Amaya blush as she played with a strand of her hair in an attempt to hide her embarrassment. Yes....she did want to get married but....more than that Amaya just wished she had...someone... Okita's next words caused Amaya to look at him with an expression akin to a deer in the headlights, her blush deepening even more. For a few moments Amaya was tongue-tied...he...was he...serious.... >\\\\\\\< but...that smile and-.... "O...Okita-....."Amaya began quietly before suddenly punching him (half-heartedly) in the shoulder,"It's not funny!"she all but yelled at Okita, feeling like her face was burning by this time.[/scrolly]

His plan had-- OW. Flinching but laughing a little, he grinned only to fall a little somber as she said it wasn't funny. Frowning if only for a moment, he turned around towards her before reaching up and pulling his eyelids down. "Hey it made your expression change so all you need to do now is laugh," he replied before releasing his eyes again. "But ya know if you were my wife you'd have to help me do the dishes all the time..." he said fishing out some water from the sink from onto his fingers before shaking them at her. [/scrolly]

This however only made Amaya punch Okita in the arm again, a little harder this time as he pulled his eyelids down. True, it had helped her forget what she'd been thinking about before but...still...he shouldn't have teased her like that! Okita's next comment made Amaya's face redden even more...if that was at all possible. She...really wouldn't mind that...if it was with Okita... Feeling the water on her face, Amaya laughed,"Hey!"she protested before splashing Okita in turn. [/scrolly]

"Hey yourself," he laughed before stopping his end of what would possibly evolve into water wars. "Ya feeling any better yet?" he asked though rather than splash Amy again, he elbowed her lightly. Hearing the question that was posed, Amaya's face fell slightly before Okita elbowed her causing a grin to appear again as she elbowed him back. "Yeah..."Amaya replied easily, wondering all the why she had been avoiding Okita in the first place. He always knew how to cheer her up and....though the thoughts from before never really went away they didn't seem that important anymore. "You always know how to cheer me up..."Amaya said in a quiet voice, smiling up at Okita as she spoke.[/scrolly]

"Hey, this is almost done. How about we leave the rest for Kin and maybe go out and do something fun, huh? Maybe play some throwing star games or....I dunno, what else do ya think?" he asked. Well...if Okita was willing to skip out on the dishes then she supposed she couldn't really argue the matter. Looking back at Okita, Amaya smiled,"That sounds like a good idea...though if I remember correctly I beat you at throwing stars last time,"she replied in a teasing voice, eyes sparkling with delight.[/scrolly]

Nodding his head, he rubbed the back of it and flashed a cheesy grin. "Yeah yeah I know... but that was only cause you cheated," he replied before pulling one of his eyelids down and sticking his tongue out playfully. He didn't really mean it when it came down to it and was pretty sure Amy knew that. After a moment, he let go of his face and reached to take her hand. "C'mon let's go to the practice tree," he grinned before suddenly rushing his step out the door and off towards the location of choice. [/scrolly]

She knew full well that he was teasing her and if she was honest with herself wouldn't have it any other way. When Okita took her hand, Amaya couldn't stop the sudden blush that had risen to her cheeks and smiled,"Sure!"she replied easily before finding herself nearly dragged out the door before she managed to fall into step with him.[/scrolly]

Given that the residents of the town were very careful to keep their trees alive, they'd always been specific to train on trees that had already died. Thus, there were specific ones to use, the biggest one being the one the brown haired man was now dragging his friend towards.Suddenly making a flying leap down, only to use a few branches to catch his fall, Okita landed on the forest floor before throwing his arms outwards and stretching. "That was refreshing, huh?" he asked grinning. [/scrolly]

When Okita suddenly made a flying leap taking Amaya with him, she couldn't help the cry of surprise that escaped her that quickly turned into a laugh as she managed to use a few branches to break her fall. It was...nice to see Okita this way....had it really been that long since he had been bed ridden with a disease that could have easily taken him away from her...Amaya didn't want to think about what life would be like without Okita around... Landing easily on the forest floor, Amaya took a moment to catch her breath before hearing Okita's comment,"Yeah, it sure was,"she laughed before beginning to stretch as well.[/scrolly]

Flinching a little, he shut one eye out of habit and coughed once more before finally breathing in. Looking down at his hand, he was thankful to find no blood in it this time around. Shaking his head, he smiled at Amy before standing up fuller and making a gesture before starting off towards the tree only a few feet away now. "Since you 'won' last time... how do you wanna play it this time?" Okita asked smirking a little. [/scrolly]

No...he couldn't-....."O..okita?"she said in a concerned voice as she put a gentle hand on his back, frowning slightly. When he seemed to recover some of the color returned to her face...that was good...at least he was all right. When Okita started towards the tree Amaya dead panned...was he seriously going to act like nothing had happened after that... Quickly catching up to him, Amaya listened to him and smirked slightly before frowning again,"Okita...you've got to stop doing that..."she replied quietly, her eyes never once leaving his.[/scrolly]

It had scared her to see him coughing so hard just like before....the memory of seeing him helpless and weak in bed as the illness ravaged his body surfaced bringing tears to her eyes. Clenching a fist, Amaya tried to keep from crying all over again but it seemed she was fighting a losing battle...[/scrolly]

He knew very well what she meant, yet his pride kept kicking him. He didn't want to appear weak. He didn't want to seem like he couldn't do anything. Even if it meant he got a little hurt, that was ok so long as he didn't die or something stupid like that, right? Frowning a little, he sighed before stepping sideways and giving Amy a quick hug. "Hey... I'm ok..." he sighed quietly. [/scrolly]

So why did it feel like someone was twisting knots in her stomach everytime she saw him hurting... Pushing the thougts aside for the time being, Amaya forced a smile and half-laughed before looking motioning to the practice tree,"Hey, we came here to throw stars didn't we... How about....first to...say 20 bull's eyes wins, at least to start,"she suggested before pulling out a few of her own stars in preparation.[/scrolly]

It made him feel weak, and he didn't like that in the least. Shaking his head, Okita finally smirked a little upon haring Amy's suggestion. "Sounds good... pair throwing or singles? Singles would keep the game going for a bit more," he grinned pulling out his own set of stars and holding them between his knuckles habitually. [/scrolly]

Holding a few of her throwing stars between her knuckles she looked thoughtful at the question before smirking."Well, I think we did singles last time so doubles sounds good to me," Amaya replied easily,"Loser goes first though~,"she chimed in a mischievous voice before sticking out her tongue at him.[/scrolly]

"Fine then," he replied before twisting around two stars in between the knuckles of his right hand and looking towards the tree. There were several marker areas not quite exact targets, but they worked well enough. Raising an elbow and hand, he stood frozen for a moment before stepping forwards and throwing the stars outwards watching as one hit the tree just before the other. The first hit the dead center though the second hit a bit more off to the right. "Eh... not bad..." the brown haired ninja sighed a little. [/scrolly]
