The Sky's the Limit [Open/Mod]

[Jay]

Upon coming out of Forest Castle, Jayme had made sure to get out of the garden area and out the gate before pulling open a pokeball and releasing his large fire dog pokemon. Since he had begun to accompany Miguel out to various towns even when not training, he had needed a better ride and thus he had decided to evolve Tommy from a small fire dog into a rather big one.

The Arcanine that was released looked sleepily at Jayme and turned his head to one side. "I need you t take me to Aerial Tower," the young knight stated. Tommy quickly perked up and nodded his head before padding sideways and allowing his trainer to climb on. Once safely on the back of his running hound, Jayme nodded again and felt the Arcanine rush forwards dashing through the trees off to the tower.

Where it may have taken a day or more to get to Aerial Tower on foot, Jayme caught sight of the tower in less than an hour. "Slow down, Tommy, we're almost there," Jay called. The Arcanine did as he was told and finally came to a full halt right at the base of the tower. Hopping off, Jayme looked sideways at his fire dog and smiled. "Thanks, bud," he said quietly before returning Tommy.

Shortly after that, he breathed outwards and looked up at the daunting tower he was now standing at the base of. It was large and seemed to extend past the heavens. If I had a big enough flying pokemon, I could go up there... the pink haired boy thought to himself before shaking his head. He'd have to look down here for now. Pulling out a few pokeballs, he released a Cherim, Swablu, and Albino Riolu. "Guys, I'm looking for a girl. If anyone's around, can you let me know?" he asked. The three pokemon nodded and began to expand around the base of the tower. Jayme nodded as well and started to walk as well looking around for anything out of the ordinary.

They had been travelling the better part of the day and had decided now was as good a time as any to take a break, especially with the way the clouds were threatening rain. Dodging a kick, Carly smirked and aimed a punch at Saito's head only to have it blocked which was exactly what Carly had wanted him to do. Spinning suddenly, Carly aimed a kick at Saito. The Sawk's eyes widened slightly but managed to dodge the kick just in time. This back and forth continued for a few moments longer before Carly heard something behind her and stopped...what was that... Putting a hand on one of her swords she kept with her at all times, Carly turned her head slightly,"Who's there!"she called out, her voice sounding almost like a low growl.[/scrolly]

A part of him was too aware of the fact that getting his hopes up that she might be there was too much to ask for, but if he could find some clue, maybe someone whom had seen her, that would be enough. What he didn't expect was the sudden call of a voice that drew his pink eyes forwards to stare at the blond haired woman with red eyes. Blinking briefly, Jayme stared before shaking his had a little. No, he'd seen Justice with blue eyes.... "Oh...uh... sorry..." he replied. "My name is Jay." [/scrolly]

Well...he certainly seemed harmless enough but Carly wasn't going to drop her guard just yet. Turning around to face him fully, Carly nodded as he mentioned his name,"Carly,"she replied before giving a half laugh of sorts,"You really shouldn't sneak up on a girl like that you know,"she continued in a light voice before smiling slightly. Saito seemed to relax a little as the young man revealed himself. This Jay certainly didn't appear to be a threat but all the same the Sawk wouldn't leave Carly's side just yet. "What brings ya out here anyway?"Carly asked after a moment.[/scrolly]

He hadn't really been sneaking around, but then again, he assumed he could have made more noise maybe... or something. A quiet laugh escaped from him, and absentmindedly a hand reached to the back of his head and rubbed his neck. "Sorry..." he replied briefly before she asked what brought him out here. Oh! Right. "I'm looking for a girl," he replied before briefly realizing just how that could sound and blushing harder. "I mean...she...er...well... she's... not really a friend of mine but... I know her older brother and...." .....And Jay realized yet again he was making this even more awkward. Frowning, he ended up nervously laughing. [/scrolly]

She hadn't intended to make him blush but it certainly was cute. At Jay's next comment Carly raised an eyebrown and had to fight to keep from laughing,"Kind of an odd place to look for a date don't you think?"she teased, laughing slightly at Jay's apparent awkwardness,"Relax hun, I'm not going to bite~. Hey maybe I could help you look even though I doubt your dream girl's here~,"Carly continued, crossing her arms as she thought. "Before you showed up I was the only one here and you caught me in the middle of sparring with Saito here,"Carly explained, gesturing to the Sawk next to her who had remained silent throughout the entire exchange.[/scrolly]

Standing there visibly shaking for a few seconds, he found himself unable to talk -trapped up in a sudden rush of obscure emotion he often held back. He didn't even know the girl he was looking for. He was helping Miguel. And... and... Elayne.... and.... but... Haii and.... Biting his lower lip, Jay continued to say nothing as Carly spoke explaining why she was there. Thankfully the word sparring caught his ear and caused him to blink. "You were ...fighting a pokemon?" he asked shifting the conversation for a moment. [/scrolly]

A coy smile came to Carly's features and she relaxed even further, crossing her arms in front of her chest. "Mhm~, ya see anyone else out here hun'? Saito is really the only one can spar with~,"Carly replied calmly, shrugging her shoulders as if fighting a pokemon was a completely normal thing to do.[/scrolly]

He'd never thought to do such, but then again he didn't have that many fighting pokemon... "I..er...see..." he replied back reaching up and rubbing the back of his neck. "Any reason for the training?" he asked slowly turning his head to one side. Maybe she just wanted to get stronger, or ... something. Either way it... was odd.. Well...not really when he thought about it. He trained with Miguel, and though it was a different fighting style all together, someone to train with made sense. Pokemon were close to humans anyways too... especially fighting types who were bipedal. They could fight the same way as humans could... [/scrolly]

"I guess you could say that I've always liked to fight. My brother would spar with me a lot, or at least he used to but we haven't gotten a chance to lately,"Carly explained in a light voice. Lyall had been busier lately and with her being gone most of the time they hadn't really gotten to hang out that often.[/scrolly]

A small smile finally reached his features, and a quiet 'heh' sound escaped him. Maybe he just wasn't expecting a response like that, or maybe the fact that the girl in front of him looked too small to really do anything clashed kinda weirdl with what she was saying. Jayme wasn't quite sure which, but either way. "I see..." he replied slowly smiling a little more. "I'm training to be a swordsman," he said after a moment having thought over the word 'knight' in this context. People had become edgy with everything in the world today, and the attacks on the capital hadn't helped much with tension. Maybe a few years earlier Jayme would have been foolish enough to say knight, but he was growing up rather quickly, it seemed. [/scrolly]

Well now, that was interesting...not very many people wanted to learn how to use a sword lately. There were the knights of course but there were admittedly not that many around so it wasn't likely that one of them had actually taken it upon themselves to train Jay. Heh, either way it might be fun to spar at least..."That's really cool~, I didn't think many other people wanted to learn how to weild a sword nowadays,"Carly replied in a light voice before shrugging her shoulders. Pulling out her twin blades, Carly spun them around a few times with ease before replacing them in their sheaths and smirked before grinning even more as a thought came to her."Hey, I have an idea~, would you like to spar with me? I prefer dual swords but I could easily switch to one if you're not used to that,"Carly suggested, looking at Jay intently as she tried to gauge his reaction to both her little demonstration and question. It would be cool to see just how good this Jay was, hey she might even be able to discern who was teaching him from the style or method he used...either way it would be fun~, or at least Carly thought it would be.[/scrolly]

If he hadn't met Miguel, he doubted that he would ever have really wanted to wield a sword, yet there he was training to be a knight- training to grow strong enough to protect his friends. A surprising feeling of pride swelled in him not so much for himself but for Miguel that had awoken and kindled the spirit in him. The man was something else, really, and yet it made Jayme happy. A quiet blush managed to work its way onto the pink haired boy's features if only for a brief moment before it disappeared again instead floating into a calm smile of sorts. Carly's sudden question caught Jayme more than a little off guard, and for a brief moment he blinked and stood there awkwardly for a few seconds before nervously laughing and rubbing the back of his head. He still didn't know exactly how old Carly was, but she had been sparring a pokemon and... "Well... I guess..." he replied quietly after a moment. "I only use one, but you could use two if you want..." he offered unsure of just how he would manage to defend himself against not one but two swords, but if it was just practice and sparing it couldn't be that bad right? "I was asking which you would prefer me to use," Carly replied in a light voice,"Since you only use one I think I'll do the same~. Unless you want to try and fight me while I use two swords,"she continued lightly, only slightly teasing him.[/scrolly]

If she was perpetually halving her power level, that really wasn't a fair fight either way- that and she was a girl anyways....and... After a moment, something a little more interested came to Jay's face. "Would you mind using two?" he asked after a moment. "I...honestly want to see how strong my master's made me," he grinned blushing once more. [/scrolly]

She wasn't quite used to fighting with just one sword but figured she could pick it up fairly quickly again. Carly was trying to think of how best to fight with just one sword when Jay asked if she could fight with two instead. Smirking, Carly laughed and pulled her swords out of their perspective scabbards,"Sure thing~, ready whenever you are Jay,"she replied in a cheerful voice before getting into a ready stance. This way she would be able to fight him with her full strength, it would certainly make for an interesting fight to say the least. It had been a while since she'd sparred with anyone besides Saito...this would certainly be fun~.[/scrolly]

He and Miguel had only used training swords- wooden ones that left bruises rather than cuts, and this was something a bit different in all regards. Mentally reminding himself that that was what he had asked for anyways, Jayme slowly calmed again and slowly slipped into a fighting stance with his hand just reach to pull at the wooden sword by his side and swing. However, a part of him was now wondering just how much force Carly could bring to the table. If he could measure that first, maybe he could retaliate a bit better. "You may have the first move," he smiled softly as though he were giving something more than using it. [/scrolly]

That was admittedly a little odd...but after seeing him pull out his wooden sword it made sense. Well now...that wasn't really fair was it...and her swords would be too short for him to use hmmm... This put Jay at a disadvantage but he seemed all right with it at least. Carly was about to ask if he was all right with using a wooden sword against her when he said that she could have the first move. Well, that answered that question now didn't it~. Smirking, Carly nodded,"That's nice of you~...hope you don't regret it~," she chimed before suddenly charging at him, using her momentum to spin around just as she reached him, aiming to slash him with both swords. Truthfully Carly hadn't attacked as quickly as she usually did, not wanting to accidentally hurt Jayme should he not be able to block the attack. There were bound to be at least some minor cuts but for now Carly would hold back using her full strength.[/scrolly]

Wait for it... wait for it... As the slashes came at him, Jayme suddenly lunged forwards blocking the first blade's motion before suddenly twisting the handle of his sword a bit and blocking the second slash effectively keeping both attacks away. A quiet grin came to his face as Jay realized that he had managed to block. However, here came the hard part. Pushing forwards with his other leg, the pink haired young man made to shove the 'girl' backwards before forcing his own blade into a swinging motion trying to dispel the block all together and come out with a full slash at her right shoulder. He's not half bad...she mused, smirking at the grin she saw spread across his face. Hmm, maybe she shouldn't go so easy on him after all. Feeling Jay's weight shift slightly, Carly adjusted her weight likewise and jumped back. Whirling around again, Carly managed to block the slash at her shoulder with one blade while aiming to hit Jay's arm with the other. This was proving to be more fun than she thought it would be, perhaps if Jay kept this up she could show him some more of her tricks. For now though Carly would simply test his skills to see exactly what he could do.[/scrolly]
