The brick break knocked Velocity down and she snarled viciously in protest. Stubbornly shaking off the pain, the shiny dragon looked quickly to her trainer for a way to take revenge.
Seth chuckled, far too focused on the battle to really laugh. He wanted to win this and continue venturing through the tunnels. The man had heard rumors of powerful pokemon wandering below the Earth's surface. "Level ground." He barked out, hoping that both the blaziken and its dummy would be damaged.
The ground shook and caused the dummy to break. However, the Blaziken jumped and seemed to avoid any recourse damage. "Sky Uppercut," was the call, and the Blaziken seemed to take to it in less than a second. Forming the arm punch, the Blaziken released the attack when he was close enough to the dragon.
Feeling like taking a risk, Seth chose not to have Velocity defend against the attack. Instead, he sent her on a crash course that would hopefully be worth it, "Meet it halfway with an aerial ace!" He yelled out, excitedly. The shiny Gabite leaped up to fly through the air, directly at the blaziken.
The Sky Uppercut and the Aerial Ace collided, and the Blaziken took the damage from the flying move. Cringing irritatedly, the fire and fighting type seemed to twitch just a bit more. He was running out of steam and pretty fast now. The red haired man seemed to frown but said nothing on that. "Blaze Kick," was what eventually came from his mouth. The Blaziken nodded knowing he had to make this worth it or he wouldn't be able to stand it much longer.
Seth grinned when he noticed the Blaziken's growing fatigue. Of course, Velocity was also becoming worn out, but Seth was ignorant to that fact. As always, he believed that his pokemon were mostly without weakness and if pushed, would always win. That was rarely the case, but still the trainer thought it to be true.
"Wait until it comes close then stone edge!" Seth hoped to intercept the Blaziken's attack with a swift super-effective move to finish it off. Velo took a deep breath, bracing herself, then waited for the Blaziken to begin delivering the kick. Once the fire type raised its leg, Velocity ran forth aiming to strike it with her fin.
The fire kick compressed with the Stone Edge attack, and the sharp critical hit that came to the Blaziken was enough to knock the fire pokemon out. The red haired man sighed and returned his Blaziken. "Not bad man," he commented with a smirk back up at Seth. However, suddenly the sounds of running feet could be heard. A girl with near identical red hair to the man came running followed by what appeared to be a Chimcar appeared and then stopped.
"Lex, Mom said-....." she started but fell silent at the sight of Seth. her eyes narrowed a bit. However, the red haired man simply chuckled a bit.
"Relax," the red haired man he stated aloud. "This guy's ok." The girl relaxed a bit and then seemed to cross her arms in front of her. She'd seen intruders into that area before, and she didn't like them one bit. Why was... why was Lex letting this man off? Did... did they battle or something?
Seth grinned at the victory, but stowed it away to seem casual. He had won plenty of battles, yet every one still felt like the first. "Great job, Velo." He praised the shiny dragon quietly before letting her rest inside her pokeball. No sooner after Velocity was safe inside the sphere did a little girl come running through the tunnels.
The man straightened up and looked back at the girl stoically. He didn't like being stared at, even if the perpetrator happened to be a young girl. "My name's Seth." He told her, a little calmer after Lex had broken some of the tension. Seth returned his attention to his former opponent, "But hey man that was one killer battle. I may come back down her another time for a rematch." He smiled genuinely. The trainer enjoyed any opponent that could give him a fun battle, and this guy seemed to have a good sense of humor too.
Using one hand to free some dust from his hair, Seth continued, "I really gotta get going, though. I'm trying to catch some badass pokemon down here and I don't have any time to kill."
"Luck with ya then, man," Lex answered back. After a moment, he more or less took hold of his sister's arm and started leading her off mumbling something along the lines of 'Mom' and 'Not again'. Soon enough, both seemed to disappear down the tunnel area. The battle seemed to have scared away whatever pokemon had been there before. Looks like Seth needed to keep moving if he wanted to find any.
"See ya later." Seth replied with a friendly wave. He looked to his left and decided to go in that direction. He was hardly ever worried about losing his way, because sometimes getting lost could be fun. The man wandered down the oven-like corridor, his brown eyes peeled for any trace of movement.
Farther down in the cave, a Magby could be seen meting what appeared to be a large rock. Along side the Magby was a Slugma who didn't appear to be helping but maybe supervising.
Seth smirked when he saw the magby, and his fingers had already wrapped around a pokeball by the time he reached the pokemon. Not feeling patient enough to watch and wait for the little fire type to finish its work, Seth pressed the button on the pokeball. With a small click, the black and white sphere opened and released a totodile. "Hydro pump, Jaws." Seth ordered calmly and pointed toward the magby. The blue croc was pleased to obey the command and fired a flood of water directly at the wild pokemon.
The Magby was hit hard by the Hydro Pump and was sent flying back. Crying out and shaking his head, the fire type seemed to slowly force himself back up and look around for his attacker. The Slugma simply sweat dropped and stepped back a bit... well... more or less slithered, really. After a moment, the Magby sight of the water pokemon. His eyes narrowed, and he formed a Psychic and made to throw the Totodile.
seth wasn't worried, even when his totodile was lifted into the air and thrown back down. He was encouraged by his pokemon's enthusiasm for the fight, even after a hard hit Jaws was still rearing to go. "That's right Jaws. Go! Use Aqua tail!" Seth hoped that a few super effective attacks would weaken the magby enough to capture it.
The Magby was hit by the Aqua Tail and seemed to flinch for a good few seconds. Damn, that was annoying. Forming a Confuse Ray, the Magby retaliated releasing the attack and hoping to keep the Totodile from hurting him again.
The last thing Seth needed was for his pokemon to become confused. To prevent this from happening he devised a simple plan. "Lets try double team then swagger." If the magby wanted to play the confuse game, Seth would play it too.
Irritated that his Confuse Ray had hit and then hit by the Swagger in turn, the Magby all but swore to himself. Forming a rather quick Fire Punch, the small pokemon jumped forwards. However, in his confusion, he only managed to hurt himself. Crying out, he fell backwards on the brink of fainting.
Seth smirked, pleased that the wild pokemon would go down so easily. Hoping he wasn't overestimating the Magby's health, the trainer grabbed hold of an empty pokeball. "Just stay in here you little fucker." He muttered before throwing the ball hard at the fire pokemon.
The pokeball came towards the Magby, yet the small fire type was still refusing to go down. Forming a Fire Punch, he punched the ball away calling out his name as he did so.
Seth grumbled incoherently to himself after catching the deflected pokeball. "Fine, you little dick." He spat while pocketing the ball. It seemed that he would have to completely knock out the magby before capturing it. The green haired man looked to his totodile, confident that Jaws wouldn't let him down. "Alright, Jaws. Looks like we've got a tough one here, but I know you can do it. Surf, now!" He yelled and pointed a finger to the red and yellow duck..thing.
The Magby was hit hard by the Surf, yet somehow, through will or something more, he remained conscious. Forming a sudden Thunder Punch, the fire pokemon made one last ditch effort to beat the water pokemon.
