So looks like I'm locked out of the cbox for another 8-minute span... ('xD; No, seriously. Downtimes vary a good deal, of course, but 8 specifically happens a lot. Not 5, not 10, but 8, within seconds of exactly. xD)

'^^; Am I the only one who has constant problems with things like this? (I mean, I know I can't be overall, given the number of computers, locations, connections, and browsers I've used over the years with consistent problems, (unless it's hunting me specifically? x'''D *checks outside for cameras* *SHOTSHOTSHOT* x'3), but of VC's general user base, I mean.)

This one was about every five refreshes for several days last week. >3< Just glad it calmed down more since.

Then these I get all the time every day.. >__<


Do any others get these errors as often as I do? If so, or if you just don't care for cbox, what other services do you know of?

Shoutmix can't handle our traffic without payment, Jcink's service proved troublesome for some along with a pretty strong glitch with the not-clearing that never did get worked out, and Chatango is just entirely too bulky, along with having loading problems and bad glitches if opened in multiple tabs, etc.

What others are there? Jay's mentioned Xat, though I've never looked into it. Anyone else endorse that, or know of more?

I get both of those as well SG, however they got away when I refresh the page everytime.

The first one does/did for me; it just got annoying that I had to keep refreshing the page.

=/ Unfortunately, with the errors in posting or refreshing, when I refresh the whole page it leads to the "could not connect" white box for several minutes every time..

The only real problem with Xat is that it takes a few seconds to load and you can't really do much with the smileys.

... OH. <__< OOOOH. Actually, I may have been wrong all this time! Either they're quite similar or XAT is what I've been thinking was CHATANGO. Nuuuuuuu you won't get me near that glitchy, over-sized, over-complex, non-customizable thing... << (If it IS customizable I apologize for misconception, but I've never SEEN anyone that's customized theirs so..)

SG must now find a Chatango box for comparison..

'^^; But when you open it in multiple tabs- or at least whenever I have, it logs you out on both and won't let you log back in because user record already exists or some shit like that and...? And I can't stand sound effects ('xD; Like I turn them off in my normal IM and have the majority disabled on my laptop even) and it's just... too big. '^^; Like, even if not for all the other stuff there's no way to make a Xat box look right in a side table. Unless you're able to prevent it from displaying like half its features, including and especially the users online part, of course...

When I open it in multi-tabs, it logs me out of one but keeps the other open like it is supposed to. And you can turn off the sound effects pretty easily actually. There is a button that turns them off. I know the box is pretty big, but that is why most people put it at the bottom of the fourm instead of on the sideboxes. *shrugs* It's just a personal preference. I like the fact that it replies instantly instead of having to hit the refresh button or waiting 15 seconds for it to refresh. I could ask Adam from TheOtaku what service he uses since theO's chatbox is a bit different and updates just the same. I'm not sure if he made the chatbox himself though mmmm. *goes to write up a PM on theO*

I get the first one every now and then, like you said, a couple days ago it happened all the time. In the second picture, I only get the 3rd one when I'm traveling, and searching for internet connections and they're just being wonky.

So...I think the cbox works for me. I'd prefer the upgraded one, where it refreshes automatically, but it's not really a necessity.
