So my Creative Wrighting teacher is amazing, why? Cause I had my Three Days Grace CD with me, and we listened to it durning class. I mean how awsome is that?!?!?! (Is really hyper right now, and fulled with energy because of her music) So do any of your teachers do cool things like that?

Um, well. I'm in Drawing 1 right now, and the art teacher walked over to me, took one look at my finger painting, looked up at me, and was like "Why aren't you in AP?"
xD
And right now, my english teacher is starting off the year by having us pick our favorite song, and write a paper on the literary elements in it. I mean, sounds better than reading Frankenstein to me!

*resists a remark about how you could probably stand to do more of the writing part and less fun stuff based on that post* ....Wait. *SHOT* 'x3; -- Well, SG has been out of High School for over three years now, and didn't do just a whole lot in the brief time she was in college, (and misses school terribly), but when she WAS in school she had some pretty bad-ass teachers. My fourth grade teacher used to let us skip either science or social studies- very rarely both- on a fairly regular basis so he could read us joke books. x3 <33 In high school, I had more amazing teachers than seems possible during my last two years, actually. x3 ....The fact that SG had more friends on faculty than in the student body probably didn't hurt her odds of thinking so many teachers were win, but.. xD Let's go through the list~ - MATH: To start, my math teacher's name was Mr. Rogers, so that already adds lol points. He was thoroughly obsessed with penguins- not he liked them, he had a literally unhealthy obsession- and even was a bit penguin-shaped. xD Which was funnier because he was like 6'3" or something, give or take a few inches- very tall, at any rate. He had penguin books, posters, border around the whiteboard, drawings posted on the wall, drawings on the board (one of mine stayed for over 6 months once and left a faint stain for months after it was finally scraped off xD), stuffed animals, plastic figures, ceramic figures, glass figures, computer theme, and the most random assortment of novelties including such things as an ice cream scoop. ...This just in his classroom, mind you; he had much more at home. xD Needless to say after that explanation, SG did as well as she did in Algebra II and passed the semester she took of Pre-Cal because she drew penguins on every paper. xDD No shit.
- ENGLISH AND SPANISH: SG had the same teacher for Senior English and Spanish III. (This was hysterical, because the only Spanish teacher in the school was named "Linda Whilden". Meanwhile, the teacher for a large number of the English classes was named "Raul Ramirez". ...Yes. xD) What made Spanish awesome was that SG was the only student in that Spanish III class. ...xD No, seriously. There were only like four or five students enrolled in the course the whole year, so they just took us and stuck us in the back of a few Spanish I classes; due to this, a large portion of assignment after studying that week's vocabulary ended up being writing about whatever the hell we felt like as long as it was in Spanish. x3 Not like a story but like a ramble-journal. xP
She was also just absolutely adorable. xD She was in like her late 40's or 50's, and only around SG's height, maybe SLIGHTLY taller (so she was like, 5'00" or 5'01"), with a really tiny frame, and HUGE poofy bright-orange hair. So she's just kind of huggable anyway. But then one day, the Spanish I class had been learning this little poem that taught months and weather, and SG had learned it too on her own just because she was there and could, and she couldn't seem to remember one last line to finally fully memorize it. x3 So I saw teacher in the hall and was asking, and I rambled it off up to the part I was having trouble with, and she got so excited she started JUMPING UP AND DOWN and nigh-SQUEED "EN SEPtiEMbre HAY neBLINA!!! " I couldn't stop laughing for like five minutes. xDD
As to why the ENGLISH half was own, other than the fact SG just loves English. (<< >> SG may want to BE an English teacher.) Well, we read a lot of books I ended up really liking. She was extremely lenient on the smarter students and if she knew we'd read up (or would eventually) would let us go do other things during class occasionally. At one point she divided us into the "smart" class and the "dumb" class (xD not called that but no one questioned that's what it was) and had the dumb class review grammar while the smart class did some epic reading/deep analysis/discussion stuff, led by one of the students of course. One lengthy assignment we did was create-a-Superhero. xD Like full-on bio creation with in-depth list of powers, weaknesses, history, allies, enemies, costume/hero-form design, etc. We spent like a full week or more on that and then had several days of presentation. (xD My friend Chris later dressed up as his hero for 'hero day' during Spirit Week: Captain Random! He had a water gun that shot acid, could fly (but only 3 inches off the ground), and had a slinky, among other such things. x3)
But the MAIN reason this teacher was so win, even over the jumping up and down in the halls story, was because she was FUCKING EVIL. xDD Once during her Senior year, SG got in-school suspension for being tardy too much (mostly due to staying too long after class talking to all her winsauce teachers, particulary difficult in one case in which the next class was not only a long walk across campus but then upstairs to boot AND it was one of my two best friend teachers AND it was art so I'd just stay absorbed in whatever I'd been working on x'33), and as teachers often did, my wonderful English teacher assigned me a special extra assignment as additional punishment. (There was logic, too, of course; if it was a class participation thing planned for in-class, a different special assignment proved you did do something as opposed to just saying you had and was easier to grade.) xD But yyyyyeah. What did SHE assign? Well.. We were reading the Hobbit. So she decides to give SG- SG- the assignment "Write a narrative from Smaug's point of view. It must use details from the story and be sympathetic of the dragon." SHE GAVE NO LENGTH REQUIREMENTS. I'm pretty sure you can all imagine from the length of this post alone, let alone SG's bios and so on, exactly what happened here... x''D Did I mention you can't be released from in-school suspension until all your work is done? So THREE DAYS AND FOURTEEN PAGES LATER..... x'''D YES<3 But the assignment. It was SO much fun. xD And after she'd finally graded it and stuff, she was seriously strongly encouraging me to try to expand it some and get it published as official Tolkien lore. x33 (This was only made better by the fact that back at the beginning of the year when we'd done that superhero assignment, she'd described my char's (9 page) back story as "better than Tolkien", choosing that specific author to compare with no correlation to class work at that point in time. x3 Yes~<3)
- ENGLISH/ART CROSSOVER: I mentioned she let us go work on other stuff sometimes. x33 WELL. One of those times was as many days as not for a few weeks for the entirety of her class letting a few of us go to the art room to work on an extra-credit project, which the art teacher also decided to count as our grade in her class the days we wanted to work on it. This was also during reading The Hobbit, and started with a few of the guys deciding they were going to build a hobbit hole, which ended up amazing. (The roof/hill could roll back in one part and reveal tiny furniture inside and everything.) They picked up one other guy and then built Gollum's lair in the mountains. Then I joined (along with one other chick, though she only came to work a few times) and we made SMAUG ON THE LONELY MOUNTAIN~<3 ... :] Afterward the guys wanted to make him a pinata. Once I pointed out the wires would keep him from bursting right, they changed it to explosives. .. xD So teachers told me I could take him home instead, where I kept him until just the beginning of this year when certain events resulted in the loss of almost everything I had, including Smaug unless he's just smooshed in a box somewhere and I don't know about it, but my hopes aren't high.. 'x3; But ANYWAY. I gots to keep him for as long as I did, and that part owns~
- More to come; I'll spare you for now. xDD
