In the Shade [Elayne]

[Ryder]

RYDER

It was a nice day out, the wind was blowing, the park was still with a cooling breeze. Already it was clear that fall was here, and pokemon and people alike were enjoying it. In the middle of the garden, lay a trainer, laying on her back, with a fire pokemon laying on top of her. A Flareon, sleeping so deeply, on one side a Houndour was laying his his head resting in his paws, and on the other side a Vulpix as curled up. Ryder sighed feeling the heat from her fire pokemon clash with the cooling winds, it came together and made the perfect temp for Ryder to enjoy.

Even though Monster was sleeping, he would wake up in anyone came into the area. It was nice to have all three fire types out, and she smiled when she thought about how her whole team had turned mostly into fire. What could she say, she loved the fire types, and planned to get as many as she could around here.

[Maid Melody]

Elly walked into the garden, looking around for anyone or anything that could be a potential danger to Elayne when she spotted the flareon, houndour, and vulpix.
"Wait here, I'll go check it out...don't let Lily out though, I think she'll get worried if she sees this." she said in a calm voice before going out into the clearing, stealthily nearing the three pokemon.
As soon as Elly got a short enough distance away from them to watch them clearly, the espeon hid in one of the bushes, careful not to make any noise that would alert them as she studied them.

Elayne nodded as Elly went out to scout out the area, it might be that the espeon was being a little too cautious, but right now Elayne was glad for the protectiveness of the espeon. After all, three fire types could be dangerous if startled.

RYDER

Tiger Lilly let out a yawn as the Flareon started to walk up, seeing that Monster was out cold, and so was Artemis. She knew that Ryder wouldn't move, because if she did she would wake the other two fire types up. Getting down from where she was, Tiger Lilly started to look around, as she always did, she was always the kind to wonder off, but she would always come back. Sniffing the air, she only picked up the scent of flowers, and the cool crisp breeze that was now in the air.

Unknown to the little Flareon she was getting closer to where the Espeon and her trainer were, a little to close in fact. If she kept sniffing around, or looking around, it would only take her a few seconds to find them there hiding, and watching Ryder, and the other two fire types.

Elly continued to watch the flareon silently, not making a move as she continued to watch the fire pokemon and the person by all the pokemon. Elly assumed that was their trainer, but she didn't want to take that chance. Besides, her hiding spot was perfect, the espeon didn't think that she would be spotted unless they were actually looking for her.

Elayne watched in silence and leaned against a tree as she waited for Elly to either come back or tell her that it was safe to enter.

RYDER

Tiger Lilly flicked one of her ears when she heard pawsteps behind her, and turned around to see Artemis behind her. As she looked behind Artemis she saw Monster coming over as well, and she sighed. Monster was loyal to Ryder, but had a temper at times, and Artemis always seemed to make it worse then anything. "Flare Flareon." She was telling Artemis that she wanted to be left alone, but the fire fox pokemon didn't listen as she sat down on the ground. However, Artemis could hold back her rude comment to Monster, which angered the Houndour.

It wasn't long until a stray flamethrower hit Tiger Lilly, one that was shot from Monster aiming for Artemis. Thanks to her fire type, it didn't have much effect on her, but it still ticked her off. Letting lose her own fire attack, and hitting both Artemis, and Monster before storming off, leaving the two alone. Tiger Lilly was best suited to be on her own, not with other pokemon. It wasn't long until she once again heard pawsteps behind her, and turned to see Artemis following her, while Monster had gone back to Ryder, laying at his trainer's side. Tiger stopped walking, sitting down on the ground, allowing the Vulpix to sit next to her, though she didn't look at her.

Elly sighed and decided that the trio of fire pokemon were not a threat, more of a nuisance by the looks of it.
"It's safe Elayne, you can come on out." she said in a calm voice before finally revealing her hiding spot, mewing a hello to the other pokemon, although she was alert for any danger.

Elayne entered the garden quietly, not wanting to startle the other fire pokemon and waved shyly, not saying a word as she sat down in the grass by a rose bush.
Elly saw Elayne and trotted over to her, laying down in Elayne's lap, watching to other pokemon with a wary expression on her face.

[Ryder]

RYDER

Ears flicked when Tiger Lilly heard something, and turned to see an Espeon padding out of the bushes. Quickly coming back over with Artemis on her heels, she saw Ryder getting up from where shew as laying on the grass, Monster at her side, looking all proud and what not. It made Tiger roll her eyes at the show Monster was putting on.

Ryder had gotten up, when she felt Monster once again get to his paws. Looking around she saw a girl about her age coming into the garden, and sitting down next to a rose bush. Making her way over, with Monster walking next to her heels, she was also tempted to roll her eyes, but didn't. Monster was funny in someways, acting so proud, and so mighty, it was just plain funny. She sat down on the ground not far from the girl, Artemis padding back over to her, and resting her head on Ryder's lap.

She saw the Espeon, laying in the girl's lap, and smiled, "You know by brother has an Espeon as well, he named her Somber." At the thought of Somber she smiled more, thinking about the friendly Espeon, that was fearless in battle. Next to her, Monster stayed on his feet, while Tiger Lilly laid back down on the ground, her head resting on her paws, as if bored from the sudden outburst.

[Maid Melody]

Elayne looked down at Elly and smiled, stroking her fur gently.
"Elly and I have been together for years...she's very protective and I wouldn't have it any other way..."she said in a shy, quiet voice, not wanting to go into detail about why she felt this way since the girl was a complete stranger.

Elly purred as Elayne stroked her and closed her eyes contentedly, not caring about the other pokemon for now.

[Ryder]

RYDER

Ryder looked at the girl, that she guessed was around her age, and wondered what she was doing out here. But Ryder didn't voice this question, besides the stronger could be wondering the same thing as well. Looking at the Espeon again, before she looked at Tiger Lilly who had laid down on the ground. Sometimes wondered why some Eevees turned into Flareons and some would turn into Espeons, or even Umbreons. "The names Ryder." She had no trouble giving out her own name, and soon pointed to her Flareon, "Thats Tiger Lilly, the Vulpix is Artemis, and the Houndour is Monster." At the sound of his name, Monster stood up straighter then before.

Elayne nodded and smiled shyly at the pokemon and Ryder.
"Nice to meet you."she said in a quiet voice before looking back down at Elly, saying nothing more.

Elly purred contentedly as Elayne continued to pet her and rubbed her head against, Elayne's kneecap a few times to show her appreciation.

RYDER

Ryder sighed looking at her own pokemon, seeing Monster standing, Artemis on her lap, and Tiger Lilly just laying down. All there of them acted so different from each other, Tiger Lilly was relaxed, Artemis was so needing, and Monster was somewhat of a bully. She gave a small laugh to herself, but then looked back at the girl. She seemed uneasy, or nervous, or something like that. "Something bothering you?" Running her hand though Artemis's fur before looking back at the girl.

[Maid Melody]

Elayne looked up at Ryder and smiled shyly.
"No, nothing's bothering me...I just don't know what else to say..."she said in a kind voice.

Elly looked at Ryder and seemed to study her, wondering what this girl's intentions were.

[Ryder]

RYDER

Ryder watched the girl, and gave a soft laugh, "You know, normally that happens around a really cute guy." She saw Monster looked at her, and saw Artemis looked up, and look around. This only made Ryder chuckle again, and soon saw even Tiger Lilly look around. Monster looked annoyed at being woke up, but Tiger Lilly and Artemis seemed fine with being up now at Ryder's statement.

Elayne giggled softly and shook her head at Ryder's response before hugging Elly a little closer to her. This girl seemed nice but...Elayne wasn't going to trust her so easily...not after the last fiasco.

Elly looked up at Elayne when she hugged her and purred comfortingly, sensing what Elayne's reluctance to open up at that point.
