I Love The Way You Lie

Cricket had heard about there being an oasis in the middle of the desert bit of the region, but she had hardly believed it until she saw it for herself. In her perspective, it was a glorious, glittering place filled with natural beauty.. She decided to let her Pokemon out to enjoy the scenery, too, and out came Pepper, Sky, Nya, and a new Pokemon she had just bought, Miles.

"Miles!~ Hello there.. I'll be your new trainer." said Cricket, a note of pride in her voice. The bug Pokemon made a buzzing sound that could be heard as a confirmation of this fact, and he looked around him at the gorgeous desert oasis. If he was in awe, he didn't show it, but he did appear to be comfortable in the desert air, with the sand stretching as far as the eye could see in all directions away from the water and palms.

Immediately upon being released from her Pokeball, Pepper took it upon herself to burrow into the soft ground near the water for a nap in the shade of a large palm tree, and she curled up into the shallow hole she dug and promptly fell asleep without so much as a glance at her newest teammate.

Sky, on the other hand, was happy to merely fly to Cricket's shoulder and perch there, craning his.. head.. to get a good look at Miles as the insect hovered nearby.

Nya had no idea what to make of the environment, his new teammate, or anything else, and appeared to be overwhelmed by everything at once. It was so warm, but the shade and water were so cool, and who was this new Pokemon, where did Pepper go, why was there so much sand.. so many questions formed in the little Pokemon's head that he flopped down into the sand for a nap of his own to try to clear his head.

Just then, a curious goldeen appeared a little ways away from Pepper and splashed the pikachu playfully.
Goldeen goldeen."it laughed, obviously wanting to play.

[Rarity]

The Pikachu shook the water from her fur and gave the Goldeen a hard stare.

"Pikaaa.." she growled as a warning. Pepper took her naps very seriously.

Cricket turned in time to see Pepper acting hostile towards a water Pokemon, and she ran over to the pair to try to stop a fight from occurring. Battling for fun or defense was one thing, but to her it had looked like her Pokemon had just gotten angry at the Goldeen..

"What is going on..?" Cricket questioned of her Pokemon, and Pepper didn't see fit to answer, instead choosing to scuff her back paws in the sand and curl up with her back to the Goldeen. Cricket sighed, pushing her hand against her forehead and shaking her head. Why in the world did her Pokemon dislike her so? Sky remained on her shoulder, wings puffed up in a nervous manner. He didn't like being close to Pepper when she was mad..

Miles flitted over, hovering not too closely, to see for himself what was happening closer to the water. He didn't look terribly concerned, just.. curious.

[Maid Melody]

The goldeen didn't seem to know what to make of the pokemon and trainer that had just showed up but didn't think much of it and splashed Pepper once again.
"Goldeen goldeen."it laughed before splashing Miles and Cricket as well.

Pepper's ear twitched; she appeared as if she would remain where she was for a moment, but suddenly there was a very bright flash of light and a strong rumble of thunder shook the air.. When the thunder stopped, Pepper was standing, looming over the fish Pokemon with sparks dancing on her cheeks, face blank but for flames of rage in her eyes.

"Pika pii." she snarled, as if to say "I warned you." With no more warning than that, Pepper loosed a strong Zap Cannon at the Goldeen and the water, not caring if she missed due to blind rage.

Almost as soon as the thunder stopped and she realized what was going on, Cricket got the fuck out of there. Even she knew better than to induce the wrath of her Pikachu. Sky had been as far away as possible by the time the thunder began, however, and was even now observing from a long ways away. Miles remained at the edge of the oasis, watching, while Nya.. somehow continued to sleep. Go figure.

The expression on the goldeen's face could only be described as .__. as Pepper released a zap cannon at the water. Thinking quickly, the goldeen jumped into the air right before the zap canon hit the water. While still in the air, the goldeen sent a supersonic at Pepper before landing back into the water with a SPLASH, hiding from the insane pikachu.

The Pikachu was not pleased. First, this stupid FISH decided to interrupt her nap - TWICE, no less! And then she tried to fry it in its home, and it had the nerve to fight back? Just WHO did this stupid creature think it was?!

Another enraged growl erupted from Pepper's mouth, and she loosed a barrage of Thunderbolt, not really giving a damn where it ended up; between the confusion AND rage, though, it would be lucky if she hit anything she tried to aim at..

Cricket and her other Pokemon - the ones that were awake, at least - were hiding and cowering behind a palm tree.

The goldeen proceeded to jump out of the water time and time again in order to avoid the shock of the thunderbolts before jumping out of the water and aiming a fury attack at Pepper before splashing back into the water.

[Rarity]

With another enraged growl that sounded more canine than a Pikachu should normally sound, Pepper loosed a Shock Wave attack.

"Chu pikapi!" she growled, as if saying "Let's see you dodge THIS!" For Shock Wave was one attack that could not be avoided, one of those useful attacks for when one's accuracy was down or the foe's evasion was up.

The goldeen jumped out of the water just as the shockwave was used and was hit by it full force, uttering a cry of dismay as it fell back into the water. Jumping out of the water yet again, the golden used peck on Pepper, albeit weakly since the shockwave had taken a lot out of it.

[Rarity]

A hateful snort escaped the Pikachu as she was knocked back by the Peck attack - it had gotten her right in the chest, but as it was a Flying-type attack Pepper was not damaged too harshly. She backed away a few steps and Growled again, then unleashed one more Shock Wave. It backfired a bit, causing it to damage Pepper as well as hurtling towards the Goldeen.

The Goldeen was struck by the Shockwave and fell back into the water only to reappear on the surface but evidentally unconscious.

[Rarity]

Pepper gave a satisfied grin and flopped down into the sand again, on her side this time, and brushed some of the sand onto herself with her tail. Now that the stupid fish was out of commission, there was nothing stopping her from taking a nap, and the sun would soon dry her dampened fur, she knew.

Cricket was.. shocked, if you'll excuse the pun. She had never seen her Pokemon's mood shift so quickly! Though the incident hadn't been pretty all in all, the trainer felt as if she had gained a bit more understanding about her beloved Pokemon, and she sighed and shook her head when the Pikachu just went back to her nap so easily. Her attention shifted to the passed-out fish that was floating on the water; she figured it would be good to have extra Pokemon since she only had four, and so almost casually she tossed a Pokeball at the Goldeen. It was a certain catch since the poor thing was singed and out cold.

The pokeball sucked the Goldeen inside and DINGed without any sign of struggle.

Personality: Goofy and fun-loving, this Goldeen loves a good prank. She is very friendly towards other pokemon and loves any and all people, going out of her way to make sure they pay attention to her and nobody else. She doesn't really care for battling but when she does, she pulls out all the stops to try and impress her trainer.

A little ways away, a Lotad was walking over to the edge of the water, keeping a wary eye out in case he was spotted.

Miles was the first to spot the Grass/Water-type Pokemon, and he flitted closer with a cry to his trainer to catch her attention. The Ninjask circled the blue lily-pad-headed Pokemon from the air and cried out again.

"Neh?" Cricket followed the insect, wondering just what her dear little Miles could be trying to tell her. She spotted it when he began circling from the air; just a little Lotad, one that was trying to hide.. Cricket decided that Pepper could stay out of this one, and she moved slowly closer to the Pokemon.

"Hi, little guy.." she mewed, inching ever closer. She wouldn't fight it if she could help it, she just wanted to look at it. Cricket liked to just see different Pokemon without disturbing them sometimes.

The Lotad started when he heard another voice and stared up at the girl, shaking.
"Lo...tad..."

[Rarity]

The trainer bit her lip; she wasn't entirely sure how to deal with a terrified Lotad.

"Um.. um.. oh! Do you want to battle..?" she asked hesitantly. "Oh..! You won't be battling Pepper, of course.." she promised quickly.

[Maid Melody]

The Lotad seemed to calm down when the girl didn't hurt him. Instead she was talking to him, something about a battle...?
"Lotad..."he said, shaking his head no, thinking that after what he had just seen there was no way he could stand a chance against her pokemon.

^{"Alright, no battle then.. Hm.. How about a little food? I have a bit of sandwich left from lunch.." Cricket neglected to mention that the sandwich was left over from yesterday's lunch as she trailed off, but she hoped that the Pokemon wouldn't mind that anyway.}

The Lotad looked up at Cricket just as his stomach growled. Turning a little red he nodded and looked hopefully up at her.
