I think that statue over there is a statement on modern life. Possibly the statement is "Well shit."

A Hoothoot called her name from her perch not far above Wicked and Nightmare, then took off to fly to the other side of the rather large room. As she did so, she spooked a Chatot awake, but the parrot shrugged and tried to go back to sleep, after realizing it was only a Hoothoot. She couldn't see the Trainer and his Pokemon through the darkness.
At the other side of the room, a Glameow started at the sudden appearance of the Trainer and, more important, his Absol. He didn't know what sort of Pokemon he was, but hoped that if he didn't make any sudden movements as he creeped away, then HOPEFULLY the Absol wouldn't notice...

BENJAMIN WICKED
In fact Nightmare really hadn't noticed the cat like pokemon that had been in the same room with them. To worn out from the battle with the Gallade his mind was more on walking then anything else. He may be strong, but after a battle like that even he was worn down. Turning his icy blue gaze up at Wicked he sighed and then looked back around the room. Walking over to the water, he jumped up on the ledge, and bent down to take a drink from the water while Benjamin waited for him to finish.

The water was cool, and restored a bit of the Absol's health. While it was true that the water level of the fountain was much lower than it had been some time ago, and the pipes weren't working anymore, the fact that Fresh Water had been used in it kept algae or the like from growing in it. ...However, it still wasn't the cleanest water ever, and probably not potable for humans.
As Nightmare jumped up to drink, the Glameow walked off as silently as he could. Once he was around a corner, he ran, heedless of what little noise his paw-pads made.
[OOC: Hope you odn't mind me throwing my char in, since it says 'open' and all. :3]
Down the hall, however, the feline stopped as she ran into ANOTHER human who had a similar-looking white-furred creature... Yet, this one was--probably black-skinned? The Glameow thought the other had red skin. Either way, he was scared yet again, but this time he was obviously seen. He ran again, just trying to avoid being caught, but it was unnecessary; the trainer had no interest in him. "Maybe some other day, and a darker cat..." she muttered to herself. After all, what would be more 'gothic' than a black cat?
Her tall, many-buckled combat boots were a tad loud, but she didn't care; she'd come here looking for anything valuable that might have been missed. She didn't really expect to find anything, but for a place like the royal palace--it was worth the time to look.
She'd been through the rooms that went off this hall, so now she planned to--
As Whitney rounded the corner into the room with the dead fountain, she was rather surprised to see what seemed to be a person. Her eyes hadn't quite adjusted to the dark yet, after the last room-rummage with a rather-bright flashlight, but...that didn't seem to be a Gallade or the like.
Whitney stood there and blinked for a few moments. "Hello," he said flatly, a little deeper than intended. Meh. Whitney shrugged. All the easier to see this person squirm, realizing that that voice had come from her.

(Thats fine)
BENJAMIN WICKED
Benjamin had been watching his red furred Absol as he drank the water, and snickered to himself. As he watched his pokemon come back to his side, he saw its head shot up as it looked around. The sound of footsteps came from the hall, but Benjamin didn't move once. He just blinked his icy blue eyes, that stood out so much against his gray hair and all of his gray clothes, turning around he made out the shape of a girl in the darkness. Taking a glance at the pokemon next to her, and felt Nightmare go stiff next to him. He really hadn't been expecting to see anyone else here, he was even more shocked since it was the middle of the night. To most people they were be scared, or uneasy around another person, but Wicked wasn't. Smirking he looked at the girl, "Awful late for someone to be wandering around this old place." He did note the deeper tone to her voice, but didn't react to it.

Stepping into the room a few moments after his trainer, Whitney's own Absol stopped by her side, and cocked his head at the Absol across the room. Odd coincidence, that.
To the other trainer's comment, Whitney shrugged. Deciding she may as well keep the deeper voice for now, he responded, "Indeed--and I could say the same to you." Hm...this was just a tad deeper than his natural voice, just a smidge, and...there are girls with deep voices, she supposed. But at least it should be enough to question...
...Then again, Whitney wondered whether there was any point in messing with this young man. Well--Whitney couldn't tell what age he was, whether he was older or younger than she was. ...It didn't matter. The point was, she was here for a reason; sure, messing with people was always fun, but there was still so much of the castle unexplored. Was it worth the time it would waste...?
...Even if it wasn't, Whitney hadn't had her fun in a while. After a brief pause while the above went through her head--if rather more quickly, and rather more abstract than that, exactly--he continued, "I assume your reason for being here so late is the same as mine--to avoid prying eyes. I don't know your name, and you don't know mine--shall we leave it that way?"

BENJAMIN WICKED
Wicked chuckled to himself as he looked at the person in front of him. Most people would find it weird that this girl had a deeper voice then she should, but Wicked didn't. He smirked at her second statement, "Not really, I'm here because I can be here." His icy blue eyes flashed as he looked at her, and saw Nightmare's eyes flash as well. "But your right about the names." He saw the other Absol with the girl, and a grin spread to his face. "Wicked taste in pokemon." He saw Nightmare give a soft chuckle at the statement, before the red furred Absol looked back at the girl.

That--really wasn't much of a reason... But it didn't matter, so Whitney didn't give it a second thought.
At his comment, Whitney responded, "Heh, indeed.. if for a rather different reason." While Absol was a good battler by nature, it had been chosen for its monochrome color scheme, to fit into his image. Indeed, image counts for everything... well, most everything, anyway.
And, hey. His normal gender-confusion trick wasn't working. This had happened a few times before, but it was rare. Maybe it was because of the long hair? Most likely, but it was going to stay--no one would think twice about it if she had short hair on the days 'she' chose to be a 'he.'
Hm... despite the growing feeling that this really wasn't worth the time, the other Trainer also posed her a challenge. If he wasn't bothered by her androgyny, then how else could she screw with his head? It would actually take some effort, for once... though she hoped her ambiguous statement, regarding 'why' she chose Absol, would at least leave him curious.
if you're wondering why I'm changing pronouns sometimes to refer to Whit, I'll say a) it's not accidental and b) Whit's gender is listed as "s/he won't give a straight answer on this"

BENJAMIN WICKED
Looking at Whitney he smirked to himself, as Nightmare only gave a snort. He would have asked her to a battle to see which Absol was stronger, but Nightmare was worn down after his fight. Flicking his hair out of his face he looked at the girl in front of him. Whitney looked like a girl but had more of the voice of a man. If he had half an ounce of sanity to him he would be worried about this, or would be confused, but he wasn't. When he/she spoke though he lifted an eyebrow, "Oh, your telling me theres more then one reason to have an Absol?" He shrugged at his question as he looked at Nightmare who only smirked. Nightmare was his type fighter and his most loyal pokemon. Willing to attack people without a sense of regret, he acted more like a shadow pokemon then anything else, but he wasn't he was just a shiny Absol.

Not far off, a distinct meow sound is heard ever so faintly yet loud enough to be heard. A dark feline-like figure was slowly moving its away across with something, most likely it's tail, moving as if dancing like a ribbon being held by a gymnast.

Sorry for taking so long to post! I got busy and distracted and forgot and ;3;
Whitney breathed a syllable of a laugh, and began, "I am ind--" However, she was interrupted by the meow.
His eyes narrowed as she looked about, trying to discern where the sound came from. "You heard that too, right?" she said, trying to make certain he wasn't just jumping at the wind.

Whitney followed suit, wondering if she might be able to catch himself a new Pokemon tonight. It was doubtful the feline was as dark a black as she'd like, or if it was even a Glameow at all--it could well have been a Meowth--buuut, it couldn't hurt to check.
Of course, even if he did decide it was worth the Pokéball, there was also the fact that her companion may indeed want the creature. She tapped her own Absol on the head, and silently pointed to the other Trainer, and mouthed 'Be ready,' to the Pokemon. The Absol nodded, then obediently followed after his Trainer down the hall.
