A Coastal Visit (Open)

[Jaxa]

The water, it had always had that calming appeal, the way it ebbed and flowed. The peaceful serenity that the crashing of waves seem to bring with them, Jaxa just loved that calm. Though, today was a day that was a long time coming, the day he would finally evolve Flare. He finally managed to obtain a fire stone, not like it was hard, just having needed to stop by the capital city on his way here. But that wasn't the point! He was here now, and he was ready to evolve Flare, and that was what mattered to him.

His hand reaching for the ball on the belt as he let the dog out onto the beach beside him. "Hey pal, it's that day we've been waiting for. I've finally gotten you a fire stone." He said his hand moving to pet the dog's head as he wound up placing himself into Jaxa's lap. The canine barking up to him in a deep happy tone receiving a smile and gentle belly rub from his owner, and one of his best friends, in return.

It had been awhile since he had been to the beach, and it was a lovely day to do so. He just wished that Oz would've been able to join him. He understood that the other boy had business to attend to, and that they couldn't always be together... but it was just odd not having the other around. On the other hand, there was an upside to today. He had picked up some items at some local shops, among them a thunder stone. He had been debating on evolving Raimei for awhile...

With that thought, he looked down to the Eevee at his side, padding along happily in the sand. He seemed to be rather entertained at the fact that he could slide around in the sand, not to mention that he could never dig a good hole in it. The whole concept of sand just thrilled the young Eevee. It was then that Rai heard the barking up ahead, causing his head to shoot up from the sand below his tiny paws. With a twitch of his ears, he bolted forward, leaving a very confused Gilbert behind. "Rai..." He muttered before taking off after his pokemon.

Seeing the pokemon and his master, Raimei dug his paws deep into the sand, sliding to a stop to stare at them, head tilted. Once Gil finally caught up to the tiny canine pokemon, he went to scold him for running off when he noticed him staring. "You know, Rai... its not nice to stare..."

Laying his ears back, Rai looked up at Gil with a coy smile before retreating to stand behind his masters legs, contenting himself to gaze at the pair from the saftey of his hiding spot.

Jaxa's gaze out to the water and to his dog every once in a while remained at a constant, his right hand idly petting the dog as his other hand was propped back for balance. Talking to the canine as if he could understand his barks back to him which he didn't know for sure what the canine was saying, obviously, but he did have a hunch of what one of his few childhood companions was speaking of.

While Jaxa had remained oblivious to the Eevee that had ran up beside to them from down the beach Flare offered a greeting bark to the canine. Jaxa petting the dog as he turned around in his lap to calm him. "It's alright, I've gotten stares from weirder creatures then an Eevee." The male said, shifting a bit in his open jacket, wondering why he still had it on while sitting on the beach, but he didn't take it off and instead just smiled over towards the new arrivals.

At the welcome bark, Rai stepped out from behind Gil's legs and cautiously moved closer to the two before them. Behind the creeping Eevee, Gil offered the man an apologetic smile. Despite the man saying that it was alright, he still felt off about it, especially since they... well... more or less he stumbled upon them - He was damn sure that Raimei knew what he was getting into.

Shrugging this off, Gil reached into his pocket, pulling out his box of cigarettes and pulled one out before tucking it back away. Lighting the one up, he seemed to mull over it for a few moments before looking at Jaxa again, "Even then, I'm sorry he barged in on you. He's a bit of a reckless adventurer..." Even then, I'm thankful for it at times... He thought with a glance down at the Eevee who was now sniffing at the Growlithe.

Looking back up, Gil stuck the cig in-between his lips before running a hand through his hair, giving a good look around them. "It's a nice day... I wonder why there aren't more people out here..." He mused idly before pulling the cigarette from his mouth, blowing the smoke away from Jaxa. "Hn... I'm Raven... by the way..." He had chosen, as always, to give his Alias instead of his real name to the man. It wasn't an off thing for him to do, seeing as there was only one person who knew his real name. But hey, a name was a name, right? Most people knew him as Raven anyway...

SETO KAIBA

A little ways off, a man was standing on the beach, wearing a black shirt, with a collar that covered up most of his neck. Normally, this man would wearing his white jacket but it was too hot out here today for that, so he just worn his black shirt. He didn't why the hell he had come back to this beach, perhaps after going up the north he wanted some place warmer then that frozen land. Either way Seto was annoyed by both places, and cursed himself for coming back. He hated the sand that suck to the bottom of his shoes, and at times even got in his shoes. It was just annoying and a load of bullshit. However, his two pokemon were not in such a fool mood as their master.

Next to him stood a proud Arcanine that looked around the beach, and soon his sharp nose and sight spotted two other people out here as well. Looking back at Seto, he sighed and broke out into a run, wanting to see who else was out here. He came closer to them, and saw a Eevee, and then he spotted a Growlithe as well. Coming to a stop, he let out a bark as he looked at both the pokemon, and then took a glance behind him. He saw Raven just glaring at him, as the Grovyle stayed at Seto's side as he took his time walking up. Turning his attention back to the boy and the man, as he waited for Seto to reach them.

Jaxa looked between the dogs. He just chuckled softly and laughed when he was told about the Eevee being adventurous. "It's alright, I promise." He'd added to the laugh he'd offered. His hand moving out to pet the canine Pokemon, not moving his hand too quickly so that he didn't get scared and try to run from his petting hand.

He nodded at the man it was bizarre that weren't many people here, but he couldn't say he didn't mind. He mostly came here so that he could evolve Flare without too many prying eyes on the flash of light, though he didn't think about the sand possibly enhancing the brightness of the evolution. "And my name is Jaxa and this little lap dog right here is Flare." He said, mostly teasing the canine in his lap petting on his side softly.

And then bam an Arcanine, Grovyle, and their trainer, he would think, arrived. He was curious as to why everyone and their dog seemed to be coming out of the woodwork right now, but he didn't mind all too much. Though it did mean he had to wait to evolve his canine for a bit, at least until he had gotten Flare out of his lap. Though it was much easier said then done to do such once the dog was in his lap.

Looking at the offered hand, Rai moved closer and sniffed at it before rubbing up against it, making a noise similar to a purr. Seeing his young pokemon's actions, Gil relaxed a bit, now able to enjoy his smoke fully instead of it being a stress reliever. It's a pleasure to meet you, Jaxa." He spoke inbetween puffs before motioning to his Eevee, "That's Raimei. Little bundle of sunshine..." He added, almost sarcastically. At the comment, Rai looked back at his master and stuck his tongue out.

It was then that something caught the attention of the three before him. Turning to look at what had, he jumped suddenly as a loud BARK could be heard coming from an Arcanine from behind him. Nearly sweatdropping, Gil grumbled as Rai ran past him to growl at the larger pokemon. "Rai..." He warned before pulling out another pokeball, releasing yet another Eevee. "Tsu, calm him down..." The Second Eevee, known as Tsukeru, nodded and ran forward, pouncing on Rai.

It didn't take long for the two to start rolling in the sand, Rai attempting to play with Tsu. The latter didn't mind this behavior, he was rather used to it, and it also meant that his mission was a success. Gil didn't really care if Rai was calm or not, just as long as his attention was derived from the newcomers.

SETO KAIBA

Gabriel flicked his ear when the small Eevee growled at him, and ran towards him. It was amusing really, he was so much bigger then this little eevee, and yet it seemed to be trying to take him on. Looking at now two Eevees and the Growlithe, he waited for Seto to reach his side, and felt his owner standing next to him. Raven snorted as her lizard like eyes glared at him, and he only flicked his tail. Raven was a kill joy, while Gabriel liked to have at least some fun in his life.

Seto looked at his dog pokemon, and then at the lesser version on it. He hadn't kept his Growlithe a Growlithe for long, and had quickly turned Gabriel into a Arcanine. He looked at the younger boy, and then at the man that was always here. Smirking, "Seems like everyones walking their dogs today."

(Lol, Jaxa is 21, hes not a 'boy', hes technically a man, but I guess he would look younger, sitting with a canine Pokemon in his lap.)

Jaxa could not help but chuckle softly as 'Raven' called Raimei a bundle of sunshine. It was quite amusing, but he was tired of sitting down, and stood up, his height standing between both Gil and Seto's. His open jacket revealing his defined front as he turned to both of the older males. Today though, was actually going to be when he evolved Flare he was just going to wait, at least for a few minutes. Though, in his hand the fire stone would remain until they were knowing it was coming.

He finally noticed though that there was a Grovyle out, not that he knew what it was having not seen one before. The reptile intrigued him, but that sort of Pokemon didn't suit him really, but it was time to stop remaining silent and speak up a bit. "If ya got em, walk em?" He said jokingly making a reference to the 'If you've got it flaunt it' sort of appeal. Flare had started his way over too the larger version of himself, looking up at the male and greeting him with a healthy bark as his tail swished. This was the first Arcanine he had seen besides for his mother, and it was quite exciting for the smaller canine.

(*Totally was going to call the 11-13 year old dog a pup* >> << >> Pokemon have long lives! *Slapped*)

"Seems like everyone's walking their dogs today."

At this, Raven turned to face the man who had just spoken. It was a little strange, that all three who had managed to bump into each other all had canine pokemon with them, but at the same time, he found it completely normal. Canine pokemon were popular, as it seemed, they held power and beauty. He should now... he had his own Eevee mini-army. With a smirk at this thought, he looked over to the two where out of their balls, thinking back on the other two he still had yet to let out he sighed.

Behind him, Jaxa stood and commented his own words to Kaiba, which in turn, made Gil smile a bit, making a 'heh heh' noise. It was then that he remembered the cig in his mouth, how he had forgotten, even he didn't know, and placed his fingers around it, taking a healthy drag.

Finally settling, the two Eevees came back, sitting on either side of Gil. Shaking the sand from his fur, Rai released a yawn, now fairly bored with this situation. On the other hand, Tsu had his attention on Seto, focused wholly on him. "It is a fairly nice day, why not let them out to get some air, right? It has to be stuffy being in those balls all day." He offered his own excuse to the newest boy.

Gabriel flicked his tail when the Growlithe came over to him, and he looked at Seto. The man didn't say anything so he guessed he was fine with all of this. He gave a bark back to the smaller canine. He heard a snort from Raven as she crossed her eyes and set her lizard like gaze on him. Her eyes were bright gold and stayed still on the dog.

Seto snorted much like his grass pokemon did at the comment made by Jaxa. He crossed his arms when the other man spoke, and watched as Gabriel gave him one more glance before taking off. He didn't go father though, just down to the shore, flicking his tail for the others to come if they wanted to. His blue eyes narrowed, "It may be nice out, but the beach is covered in sand, that quickly turns to mud, which gets your dogs dirty."

Jaxa just couldn't help but blink a few times, this man was just really straight up stuck up... He couldn't help but look around the area as if seeing if they were on some hidden camera show or something. Just snorting to himself softly, this person's pokemon were almsot as bad as he was. "We're at a beach dude, chill out. It's a place to have fun, relax and the likes. Yet you're here trying to reprimand two random people for letting their pokemon enjoy themselves, do you know how messed up that is? I mean seriously. Besides, being a breeder, I know how to clean my pokemon." Jaxa said his eyes piercing into Seto's, he obviously seemed disgruntled at the fact he'd just done what he did.

At least Raven seemed to be on his side Flare going down into a playful position and swatting at the Arcanine's paw trying to get him to play. Flare offering a playful bark in further attempts to do so, even though he really thought it was futile since he too noticed the dog was a bit strung up like his owner. But he would try nonetheless, he wanted to at least try to play with the evolved form of 'himself.'

The cells I am at the moment, will soon die.
I watch them watch me, I watch them too.
Across the street, across the room.

Sand... turns to mud? Hah. I think not. That's dirt. Wet sand is more of a bother to get out of fur or hair than mud yes, but it was quite different. Meh, no matter... Pokemon could be cleaned, easily. Let the poor things have some damn fun. Running a gloved hand through his hair before taking hold of the cig again, Raven sighed. There was no point in arguing with this new man to their group, he didn't really want a battle today, and Seto seemed like the type who would jump at the slightest opportunity to fight, just to prove he's right.

Staying out of it, the black haired man let Jaxa take the matter as he took another drag of the stick before dropping it and putting it out between the sand and the toe of his boot before bending over and picking it up, placing it in a small tin, which was soon placed in his pocket.

With Jaxa finished, Raven looked at Seto, a serious expression on his face as gold eyes wandered over the tall body. Not only did ha act stuck up, he looked the part as well. "If you're so worried about your pokemon getting dirty, what is it then that brings you out here?"

Seto only smirked when Jaxa spoke and kept his arms crossed. He didn't say anything right away only thought about Jaxa's statement his blue eyes flashing. He made no comment on the part about the beach, to him it was just a place like any other place. "You say its messed up, but to me theres no big deal about it. Somebody's gotta make sure this place doesn't smell so bad."

'Grovyle!' Raven stood next to Seto as she glared at the other trainers in front of her. Her own arms crossed at her side as her gaze was 100 percent cold. After glaring at the others he turned her gaze towards Gabriel who was looking at the Growlithe, 'Grov!' Her tone was scolding and down right cold to the fire dog who flinched back.

Gabriel was looking at the Growlithe when he heard the cry from Raven and flinched. The grass pokemon always freaked him out, and he soon sat down on the ground. Using his claws to draw something in the sand that looked like a bad attempt at a tree and a ball.

Seto only blinked when the other man spoke, "I have my reasons for being here." He was thinking more about the person he was meeting here and wondering if they would show today.

((*Totally just realized he'd been using the wrong name for his Growlithe... SHOT*))

Jaxa briefly nodded his head in agreement to Raven's question, he was quite curious about that as well.. Ooooh if only there were any machines nearby, he'd let out Ghost Spark in a heartbeat and let the little trouble maker have his way with it to torture Seto, but he digressed and shook his head a bit. That would be quite unbecoming, at least in his own opinion.

The growlithe looked up at the larger canine then to his drawing then backed up. Tilting his head and arfing as if he was asking a question, having completely ignored the demon that was a Grovyle. Though Jaxa had some more reprimanding of this man to do, he was a hypocrite and he did not like it, not in the least bit. "So it's okay for you to get your pokemon dirty in these hopes of finding said reason to be here... And those of us who are looking to enjoy themselves with their pokemon can't have fun and do such?" Jaxa queried, quite interested to hear the male's answer as he kept his hand gripped around the fire stone, it currently being the last thing on his mind. Though his growlithe still made smaller less noticeable attempts in getting the larger canine to play with him.
