Doesn't this look like a magical sparkly forest? xD Uh I'm not big on the cave idea. Maybe you could sell me on the tunnel idea though..

x3 A tunnel IS a cave, technically, just with two openings. xP But yeah, from the moment I said river "cave" MEANT "tunnel". :3 Really, when you think about it, a previously-secret underground route from the capital to the sea gives us the perfect hook for insert-not-spoiled-plot-we-should-probably-get-back-to-planning-eventually-here. x3 So yar~ Not to mention, as stated, we don't really have an area like this environmentally yet, and this and a meadow would bring West to 13 areas to match the East if we get a forest, jungle, and second town/city all three, and it would both fit the West well and add more variety to it. :3 ... x'3 If you need more to sell you.... www.youtube.com/watch?v=JmtD4-WfhMw&feature=related(Edit: ... <_< I was going to embed it but it turns out if you do it comes with huge ads that stretch the page.. Fail.) *MAULED* --- .x. And mmm.. It would, but the trees are so far back.. I can't see where we'd crop it to get the right size without missing out on a lot of the effect of the awesome big version... To be fair, though, it turns out it's surprisingly difficult to find something that DOES work well. .x.; I actually did start working on this again when I woke up from that nap the other day like I said I would, but ended up doing nothing but scouring forever for pics... I found a few that kind of work, but even these could be better I think... >>; If you happen to like any, epic; if not, we'll keep searching I guess.

OHGODSECRETTUNNEL. Still not completely sold though ;p give me something super-duper awesome about the tunnel. I definitely think it would be useful plot-wise but I don't just want to plop a boring tunnel somewhere.
Oh oh oh! First picture is lovely :3 I like. Hm..but it needs more sparkles xD

... All right. 1) Environment we don't have yet =/= boring. EVER. :'3; I thought Pup proved that with her rabid complaint complete with supporters (at least me and MC if not more) that there was no forest plain enough. It may not be as exciting as it could be, but it won't be 'too boring'. 1.5) This is building off a general suggestion of Caden's, not just my own ideas, and there were a lot of ideas for more underground areas back toward the beginning of the thread at that. ;P 2) In addition to working well for a site plot, how many member plots do you think it could work for? While no longer secret, it still wouldn't exactly be a tourist attraction either. What better place for a young couple to sneak off to be alone? (Since on end is in the capital, parents/etc would assume they were just hanging out in the city. >;P) Or how about our smuggler or pirates- seems like a good route to take for certain deliveries, neh? Not to mention it'd be the best way to get things INTO Era. 3) On that note, it could be used commercially on occasion, too. Make the tunnel and its river big enough, and boats could bring supplies in for the Emporium through that. :3 Avoid having to pay a second carrier to bring it the rest of the way by land or air (where air, or even land for Orre imports, wasn't the initial method anyway, at least). 4) .... x3 "I AM a fan of secret rivers..." is an Avatar quote too! XP I just can't remember the epi... x3 But yar~ (You know, back before Facebook went to Like, SG became a Fan of Secret Rivers. xD *SHOTHARD*) 5) x3 It would LOOK pretty! *flail* If I could find a pic matching it in my head... x3 *shot* .... THAT'S eet! SG was trying to figure out just what about it looks so pretteh in her head and was trying to achieve it in a way that didn't make it look like a weird mine. |D SO NAO I GOT EET. x3 At the bottom of the river bed, we could haz glowing 'crystals' of some sort that give the tunnel a natural blue light and make that awesome water effect on the walls and stuff. :3 These crystals are only found in the water, and if removed cease to glow, as well as being a pretty brittle and plain-looking stone, making them not very valuable at all except for lighting the tunnel, hence why no one is farming them. |D (Prolly a scientist or few trying to figure out how they work, but other than that, anyway. xP) --- x3 I can throw some flares on it in GIMP in a few minutes... (*hubby's comp* That's okay though.. I actually know more how to use GIMP's flares than PS's anyway. xP)

lulz Jay, I love the idea of the secret tunnel and it could also be a logical reason as to why there has been no sightings of many rebels BECAUSE of the secret tunnel and not to mention it would be awesome for Jack *shot* yeah I said it...aaaanyway, I love the secret tunnel idea and it would make for good development in plot and yeah o3o

South (Picture when I get off my lazy butt XP) Xatu's Lookout A high, flat plateau that faces West at the highest point, this spot is popular with individual Xatu who wish to view the sun's setting each day. There is plenty of room for a Natu flock or two, but it is rare to actually see the namesake's pre-evolution around. Pokemon: Xatu, some stronger Flying-types, a few Natu, some Rock-types
(See above note n.n) Mineral Valley This valley is securely nestled between a twin pair of mountains close to the edge of the area that is known as the South. It is well-known for having rich mining by the few locals; however, they keep this secret for fear of having outside corporations coming in to destroy their home. As it is closer to the center of Era, it is cooler than most of the other places towards the south, and even has grass and trees. A medium-sized river carves its way through the middle of the valley, likely the very same river that made the valley in the first place. Pokemon: Pidgey, Rattata, a few Grass-types, some common Water-types in the river, maybe a few Fire-types can wander up from other places rarely

x3 There's already a plateau in the south, so I can tell you that one's probably a solid no. The valley doesn't feel very suiting imo, but Iunno. .x.
OH AND HEY!! 8U! Before I forget YET AGAIN, I've been meaning to ask... Don't I win money and a Pokemon for my sand-sea? xD *completely forgot (repeatedly)*

Yes you do mah frand~ You receive 700 pokedollars and an Ariados :3 Uh guys I just realized, we already have the sewage system which says that it is "linked to many different parts of the region" :S But if we still are going to go through with the idea, I'm a fan of this picture:

Hm... .x. this is true... Well... technically I guess the sewage system would be a secret tunnel of sorts *is shot* x3 I am now compelled to make Jack a thread down there because I can and *is shot* But ya... if we get enough resolve to make a separate system, we could make it a bit different here and there. Technically there could be a secret passage way developed specifically to get out in case of attack or something *Totally just pulled that off of Nobody Noticed the Cat as well as ToS I *.
Also maybe to separate this one even more, we could say that it goes even outside of the kingdom whereas the sewage system just goes around the major cities and things (though I'm not saying add moar boards outside of the country just saying that that can be a way to get things inwards such as from the Orre and what SG explained earlier. o3o oh and maybe there is some secret black market even farther down there? *is shot*).

... 'x3; This is true, but it really isn't very much alike at all past being underground and wet... Using Jay's points and adding some of my own.. [atrb=width,500px,bTable][atrb=width,50%]Sewer System | River Tunnel | Man-made Concrete Sewer Water Poison/dirty Pokemon Many entrances/exits Webs to Cities Mostly mid-sized passages Mainly in capital | Mostly natural formation Rock and dirt Clean natural water Cave/water/ambient Pokemon Starts near Castle Straight line to the ocean Massive tunnel/wide river Mostly in West |
:3 See? Many differentz. We could always think of more ways to make it vary, too. By 'mostly natural' I mean it seems unlikely it just happened to crop up by the castle... unless that's why the castle was built there in the first place. .3. Which would be another interesting way to go. x3 But the way I was thinking was just that the tunnel came close and then it was extended just a bit to make it a good escape/smuggling route for royalty back in the day. x3 Hence mostly natural with just a little man-dug extension at the entrance. Pokemon-wise, we could even have like Lapras, like in the lower levels of Union Cave in Johto. :3 Wooper, Psyduck, various fish... ... xD ACTUALLY, this could be the PERFECT explanation as to how all those fricking sea dragons get into the castle! *MAULED* Throw some Seadra, Dragonair, and Gyarados down here... x3 Hurrr. .... .3. OOH!!!!! It could also actually be a pretty good equivalent to Mt. Moon, and as such a good place for Clefairy and Jigglypuff that are currently extremely rare. =D -- Afterthought: If you're still at all uncomfortable, think of it this way. :3 We already have how many forest areas? Some have less overall differences than this, too. This would make only two areas that have this barest basic idea- an underground watery area- or only three 'cave'-like areas. We currently have over 50 areas total! ;3 And if we get all the areas up to the 12-14 range like it's looking like we will, we'll have between 60 and 70! Two or three out of that many doesn't seem so bad at all, now, does it? ^.^
Edit2: Sparkleh? |D Tunnelz. 83 <<33

Jay, your current avie is the sexiest shit I've seen in a while. Just thought I'd throw that out there. *SHOT* :"D -- x3 But yes, we do. We need: - C: A school/library/battle facility (any/all together or separate)
- S: Egypt-y ruins
- E: Enchanted forest
- E: Jungle/Rainforest
- E: Second urban area
- W: Secret Tunnel
- W: Meadow
- N: Just-mountains
- N: Hidden valley
- S: Something else? (For numbers' sake.)
- N: Same. (Maybe open tundra/a frozen lake/anything-but-city. 'xD)
- C: MAYBE something else, depending on how the three listed are handled.
x3 So yar. Feel free to throw out more ideas than the reminded that we need ideas. xD And that goes for everyone! ;P A few staff members agreeing on various basic concepts doesn't mean the details you submitted wouldn't count as your ideas, you know! (With the exception of the enchanted forest thing to a point. I think if someone other than Ether actually writes up a desc for that it'd be like half and half for credit there since we know part of those details already from her jungle idea and yah. x3 But still! *FLAIL*)

x'D You have NO idea how badly I wanted to write "(Complete with ranch!)" on that<3
83 OOH. Also, for a possible additional area in the capital if two or all three of the others are combined, a big park could be cool.

......x3 we need a ninja village *is shot* I'm serious o3o. Somewhere deep in the forests and all natural and what not. --- Tree-Top Town (Or maybe The Village Hidden In the Trees *is Naruto Shot* xP Name is subject to change)The buildings in this town are built out of and around the natural trees in the area. Most buildings are up off the ground, yet there are plenty of bridges to get to each. The town has been known for its defense due to its personal army of people trained to use illusion techniques and move about in the forest with silent tactics. Long ago, the people of the village made a treaty with Era and officially accepted being part of the kingdom. However, they have become more hostile and defensive through the fall of the kingdom. Pokemon: NINJASK *is shot*... a few more various bug types, grass types, flying types, a few poison types here, and there possibly ground types too depending on the length of the lists x3 that would totally be where Jack is actually from *is shot* I'm serious o3o. Also I resubmit my school and mountains >> back... in the back lol.

x"D THAT IS AMAZING<3 x'3 I would personally recommend not actually using the WORD "ninja" and just very highly implying it. That way it should receive a bit less eye-rolling from the anti-ninja crowd Naruto's rabid fanbase has provoked. xP Also because ninjas be sneakeh like that! *SHOTHARD* x'3 But seriously, YES. We got pirates; we MUST have ninjas. xD (And using the word pirate is different! xP They're less polarized, more universal (where ninjas are quite Japanese), and the sand pirates may or may not actually be real and/or present-day, so yar. xP) Ethar?
