TRADES
Maybe be done IC or OOC. To post a trade, just have each player involved post the following form:
The first three are obvious enough: your name, your character, and what Pokemon you want to offer. In the 'To Player' field, you may enter a specific member or "anyone"/"open"/etc. In the 'For' field, you may enter a specific Pokemon, a list of several Pokemon or certain types of Pokemon, or simply a "make offer", etc.
This means you may post predetermined trades just to make them official, or open trades in order to seek out partners. :3 If posting multiple Pokemon, please use the form for each one. Also, please do not overload a topic with tons of trade offers; if you have that many you're looking to get rid of, you'd probably take money too, neh? x3 Just post them in your shop instead with trade or buyout available.
ON THAT NOTE: This is not a board to sell to other members, only to trade. If you're trading for money, head to the commercial district.
Once all involved players have confirmed the trade, a mod will confirm it as well, take out the fee for same-player trades, and archive the topic.
Trade Evolution
Of course, it works the same way here. However~ If all you're looking to do is trade and trade right back anyway, it can sometimes be fun as well as rewarding to find a partner looking to do the same, and this is recommended. It is not, however, completely required.
If you'd like, as an alternative, you can simply trade with the system itself, no partner required, for a small fee of $300~ Of course, waiting to find a partner is free, but the fee is available for those who don't want to wait around. ^^ If you'd like to do this, simply use the following form.
'DONATING' (Abandoning)
If your Pokemon has been sitting in your shop forever, or you don't think you could find a buyer even if you put it up, or you just can't seem to find a trade partner, you're in luck! Here at the Shelter, you may drop off your unwanted Pokemon, and we'll do our best to find good homes for you! ^^
May be done IC or OOC. When donating, simply post the following form. Post as many Pokemon per character as you like, but please repeat the code for each character donating at once.
For each Pokemon donated, you will receive between $50 and $500 depending on how desirable the offered Pokemon is. (That is, a Caterpie will probably get you $50, while a Vibrava would be more likely to get $500. Personality comes into play as well, however. If your powerful Pokemon is a coward and weak for its species, etc, offering price goes down.)
This may seem small, but it is instant, or at least as quick as mods can reply, so it can prove a nice way to get something quickly and get a troublesome Pokemon out of your hair. ^^
Mods will make the offer for each Pokemon to give you a last chance to change your mind if you want to wait and try to get a better offer by selling/trading. Once you confirm it, the mod will grant you your money, then put the Pokemon up for adoption, usually for a bit more than was paid for it. Pokemon not adopted within two months will be "released into the wild".
ADOPTING
To adopt a Pokemon, simply find something you like in the Shelter thread and post its information with the following form. Again, this can be done IC or OOC.
Adoption can be a fun way to give back to the Pokemon community, as well as being much cheaper than most shop Pokemon. Won't you help a poor abandoned Pokemon today? D: (*shot*)
NOTE: In the event you actually create a character who does not have a Pokemon yet, he or she may obtain any Pokemon in the Shelter, no matter what it is, as a "starter" for only $100, regardless of listed price~
