Hell yes. The desert sun was high and blazing as morning started to fade into day, the dry breeze offered as much its own discomfort as relief, and Kali stood facing down her Master in what would soon erupt into a full battle. How could the day start any better~?
Early this morning, she had made a trip to the capital to take their Pokemon by the Breeding Center, and while waiting had seen the most exciting announcement in a paper: Era was having a tournament! But it wasn't even just fun, fame, and prize money- oh no~ The grand prize Pokemon was very highly implied to be a Shadow (and they'd be able to make it one by then if it wasn't anyway) of a rather powerful Pokemon, and more! The winner of each match sometimes got to take an opponent's Pokemon. Now, this may have scared some.. but Kali might have been just a little over-confident about her ability to win.
It had taken a little work, then, but she'd finally convinced Leon to come train with her. Between the allure of the prizes, of training his own Pokemon (even if not for the tournament it seemed), and of not having her running around all over Era to train instead when she could just battle him and get back to real work, eventually he'd come around. Of course, the fact she'd quite wanted to battle with him for some time anyway and the fact that the events of the previous night were currently tripling this urge were just perks. "So then~" she started, a little too happily. "Would you prefer single or double for our practice?"

Yue sighed rather unenthusiastically at his apprentice before forcing a light smile at her. Kali had managed to convince him to take a break and train with her...Well... for a bit it wouldn't bee too much of an annoyance. "Double battle," he answered back rather easily before taking out two pokeballs. Releasing Thunder, his Shimama and Patric his Piplup, the white haired man said nothing more but waited.

Surprised he'd chosen first, Kali mentally shrugged and decided to go with it. She'd not take too much type advantage starting out; that would be too easy. Thinking of something more neutral, she found two of the PokeBalls she'd brought out and loosed Helen the Abra and Coco the Togepi. The latter was a risk factor all on his own, but.. well, she wanted him evolved by tourney, so he had to battle sometime, and he'd been getting... a little better since he started playing with Mallow. Kali took a deep breath, then smiled easily. "Care to go first?" she offered.

Yue simply smiled a moment seeing the pokemon of choice. "Thunder use Toxic on the Abra," Yue answered in a rather light and easy voice. "Patric use Toxic on the Togepi," the white haired man finished. Both pokemon seemed to nod and released the toxic gas into the air trying to poison the other two pokemon.

Kali facepalmed as both were poisoned. That wasn't very good for training purposes at all... Well, she supposed this could come up in tourney, so... And actually.. Heh, this was only half as bad as it looked, eh? She smiled lightly then. "Mirror Move on Shimama, Coco. Helen, give Piplup an Energy Ball~" Coco hesitated a moment, but.. copying was fun. Mmkay! Clapping excitedly, he glowed a moment and then released the same poison back at the zebra, though he cringed from said poison's effect afterward. Helen, on the other hand, easily launched a green ball at the penguin, not seeming to realize she'd been poisoned at all.

Yue seemed to close his eye and waited a moment. The poison that hit the Shimama caused him to blink as his own attack came back at him. "Facade," he said aloud, and in a split second, Thunder charged forwards with the super powered move from his own poisoning. Patric was hit by the Energy Ball and cried out and backing up before shaking his head and standing strong again. He wasn't going to go down that easily! Right? Right? Yes. "Patric, use Rain Dance," Yue said aloud. The Piplup blinked at the order to use the non-attacking move, yet after a moment, he sighed and started up a rain dance. The water came down in sheets and seemed to seep into the sand as it did so.

Coco went flying back and flailed wildly at the attack, tearing up. "It's okay, Coco. Psycho Shift on Piplup." The Togepi began to glow again, and suddenly the light shot between him and his target, carrying his Toxic Poison away with it. The Abra meanwhile had little to worry about, bracing herself only to find she wasn't being attacked. Very well. "And Attract," Kali ordered the latter. Seeing Coco now on the penguin, Helen went after the zebra.

Hit with his own poison, the Piplup cried out irritated. "Surf," Yue sighed back almost as though he were bored with the battle. The Piplup quickly regained himself and formed a large amount of water as his attack grew it power thanks to the rain. Finally releasing it at both of the other pokemon, the Piplup smirked to himself and resisted the urge to cringe form the poison. The Shimama was hit by the Attract and seemed to freeze in place. The Abra....was....was..so....beautiful o3o.... how...no... he couldn't even move at that point. "Thunder," Yue called, yet the Shimama stood in place with all but hearts for eyes. The poison made him cringe...yet still he stood frozen there.

Kali twitched a bit at the Surf, as did Helen (though with more reason); Coco reacted with far more appall, but managed to keep his head. "Sunny Day, Helen," the trainer ordered. She'd go ahead and stop that now. "And Solarbeam Piplup, Coco." Instead, the Togepi used a Morning Sun. This recovered him fully, which was good, but Kali still facepalmed. He really didn't need that yet, but... whatever.

"Rain Dance," Yue turned his head to one side as he said this. Patric quickly started the rain again as though irritated that it had even stopped. "Thunder, use Thunder," Yue said rather dryly. The Shimama suddenly seemed to blink before shaking his head and charging his attack and released it towards the Abra. Attract...is such a....Venus move... Yue found himself slightly irritated but glad to see that Thunder was at least still attacking. The poison seemed to run through both the Piplup and the Shimama regardless of the outcome, yet both refused to acknowledged it as they attacked.

The Abra hissed as she was hit by the powerful move, evasion made much harder by the storm. "Energy Ball the Piplup," Kali ordered without blinking. "Coco, Light Screen." The Abra shot out her green orb while Coco put up a wall of pretty light.

"Dig," Yue stated aloud, and in half a second, Patric jumped in the air and then dived bombed into the ground avoiding the Energy Ball and disappearing under the surface of the now wet sand. "Thunder," Yue stated aloud. The Shimama stared for another moment and looked like he was seriously going to fall into the infatuation and not move that turn. However, at the last second, he shook his head and charged his electrical attack before shooting it towards the Abra. The storm continued down, and both the Piplup and the Shimama felt the sting of poison again.

Kali sighed in annoyance. Dig.. If she had most any of her main set out, she'd just quake it out, but no... Though that did remind her.. "Hidden Power, Coco," she ordered the Togepi. Seeing only the one target, he loosed orbs that glowed a light tan with earthy energy at the Shimama. "Sunny Day, Helen." And good riddance; those thunders were starting to really hurt. Again, the storm was cleared.

The Shimama was hit by the Hidden Power and was forced back twitching as he went. The poison took to him again, and the zebra pokemon was feeling at the end of his rope and fast. Yue sighed but retained his smile. "Rest," he stated aloud. The Shimama seemed to tense before finally allowing himself to fall asleep gaining back energy as well as taking away the poison. Patric came up from the ground and moved to hit the Abra.

Mm, stalling... She should invest more in that for her final tourney team. Helen got caught off-guard by the sudden attack at her feet and phased a few yards away before leering at the penguin. "Energy Ball and Solarbeam," Kali ordered both; between that and the incremental poison this late, the Piplup shouldn't make it to another attack of his own.

Indeed both super effective attacks caused the Piplup to cringe, and he was all but standing when the poison took effect as well. Falling backwards, Patric found himself out. Yue sighed and returned his Piplup before taking out another pokeball and releasing it. Taking out another pokeball, Yue smirked and released Freya one of his shadow hybrids. The Flying and Ground pokemon just stared blankly. "Vacuum Wave the Togepi." The Shimama remained asleep.

Kali stared at the Shadow in awe even as Coco was sent flying by the force of the wave. It wasn't naturally very powerful, thank goodness, but an incredible physical strength backing it and Coco's weakness certainly helped override that. After a moment, Kali managed to snap out of it. "Morning Sun," she told the lingering Pokemon, though there was little point as he'd already begun to do so. "Psychic, Helen." She considered an Ice Punch, but with the sun still out and Abra's abysmal strength, it seemed better to just stick with the STAB.

The Shimama remained asleep and seemed to be perfectly content to stand there sleeping. The Hybrid was picked up in the air by the Psychic and thrown a few feet, yet she didn't show an ounce of pain from the attack. "Night Slash," Yue stated aloud, and once more the shadow seemed to charge forwards to slash at the Abra.

[Red is totally harder than gray to read on this skin to me. x'D]
Kali cringed as she spat out the word she so deeply loathed: "Protect!" Throwing up a barrier, the Abra escaped without injury... for now. Kali sighed, then gave a rather bitter smile. "Sweet Kiss," she ordered the latter Pokemon, trying to keep her resentment out of her voice. This move in particular Coco was quite ecstatic to perform; it meant things in his mouth! Leaping up to Shadow, he gave her a rather awkward kiss on the.. leg, actually, due to height, taking just a second to gum on her afterward before running away.

The hybrid stared down at her own leg with the same lack of emotional always. However, the effects of confusion began to work on the shadow pokemon though outwardly she didn't reflect any of this due to her lack of motion. Just then Thunder seemed to wake up from his sleep refresh and rather ready to go. Seeing this, Yue smirked a moment. "Thunder, use Rain Dance," the white haired man called with ease. The Shimama instantly started up the rain once more, and again it came in sheets. "Freya use Shadow Break on the Togepi," Yue stated without much emotion in his voice. The hybrid blinked for a moment and managed the attack without harming herself this turn. [D< I'm gonna smack whoever took my change last night ;3; it was only like 75 cents... I mean come on....]
