Strolling the Savannah [MOD]

The sun was already past it's highest reach on the sky, Kei could guess it will be down in about four hours. He was walking calmly in the northern parts of the Savannah, a much more grassy terrain than the part close to the desert. He didn't like the completely plain and motionless sand wasteland so he was rather strolling the more lively parts. It was maybe easier to find pokemons as well, since it wasn't a secret what Kei wanted at that moment. He wasn't sure if he would catch any if they showed up though, as he had the habit of just meeting some, maybe talk to them and then releasing them right without a fight. Though Kei was somewhat set on getting pokemons now, as his little party of three wanted new friends. Who was he to get in his pokemons' ways? Shuri on his shoulder was sniffing the air curiously awaiting anything that may come at them - be it a pokemon or any other thing.

He stepped to a small river that they arrived at. It was actually a bit overconfident to call it a river, it was closer to a brook actually, but it seemed that Kei's Eevee didn't mind that. Shuri jumped off of Kei's shoulder and hopped to the water leaning down and drank of the water, his small pink tongue making ripples on the surface. Kei was waiting for him patiently while looking around, watching the area just like his little partner was. After Shuri finished he shook himself to try and get rid of the sand in his fur. Kei grinned at the little one. "I told you to stay in the ball." Shuri just answered with a cheerful "Veeee", showing that he didn't really care about that as he will be cleaned when they get home. 'And who will be doing that, huh?'

They kept on walking, his pokemon stayed on the ground this time to be ready for anything that may come at them.

[★ Ryuujin !]

Glowing eyes narrowed from up in the higher branches of one of the few trees around, claws digging into the bark as it crept down the tree, keeping its eyes focused on Kei as the boy moved. A deep growl erupted from its throat as a paw landed on the ground behind him, his body barely visible from the shade of the tree mixing with it's already dark pelt. Rolling his shoulders, the pokemon lowered himself to the ground and simply waited for the right moment... that Eevee looked so good...

Shuri's ears perked up as a little shiver run down his spine. He stopped in his tracks and sniffed in the air, though his nose couldn't pick up a scent. Then again a good hunter would position itself so the prey won't notice it right away. Kei stopped as well, looking back at his partner with a questioning look. He didn't say anything though, as he understood that he might have felt something nearby with his sharp instincts. The boy also looked around, but his sight being hindered by his blind right eye, he could only hardly measure the distances anyway.

Shuri kept sniffing the air stubbornly, believeing his instincts and prepairing for anything that may come.

Clawing at the earth beneath his paws, the pokemon continued to growl as he tilted his back end into the air, ready to pounce. His large, pink tongue fell out from his parted maw to run over his upper lip, nose filling with the scent of the pokemon before him. It was small, and wouldn't be much of a meal, but for one who hadn't eaten in a few days, food was food. Rolling his shoulders once more, he bolted forward, roaring as he went, fangs glittering with a Thunder Fang as the Luxray dove for the Eevee.

Kei was motionless and rather listened to the surroundings than actually looking, his ears were more trusty anyways. Shuri kept sniffing the air without any success, whatever was nearby was good at hiding. Kei heard, together with his pokemon the rustle of the grass, though it was too late for the Eevee to completely avoid the attack and when he wanted to jump forward his fluffy tail was grabbed by the attacking pokemon's fang.

Kei saw the Luxray attacking Shuri, the little pokemon was trying to get away from the feline without much success, an electric shock run through his body at the Thunder Fang's contact. He had to get away from the hunter. Fast. "Shuri, Sand Attack!" Eevee's legs moved at a higher speed as he heard the order from his trainer to hurl the sand under his paws into the eyes of his attacker, hoping to get away from the deadly embrace.

[★ Ryuujin !]

With a hiss, the Luxray tightened his grip before releasing the Eevee with a yowl, falling back as he pawed at his eyes in attempt to get the sand out. Damn the little thing, and damn the fact that it had a trainer - it would make it all the harder for him to get his meal! Lowering his paws, blinking as his sight slowly returned, albeit blurry, the Luxray leaped forward once again, a single paw outstretched, glowing a dark purplish gray, a Night Slash aimed for the small canine.

As soon as Shuri was released Kei ordered him to do a Double Team in order to avoid any next incoming attack, as together with the Luxray's blurry sight it might make a better chance for an evasion. His movements sped up to make an illusionary copy of himself that would eventually help him in avoiding being hit. His timing was right as the dangerously glowing claws missed him just barely, though at that moment Shuri had an idea.

He jumped to the side as if being hit by the power of the attack and layed down on his legs, his muscles ready in case he had to make an evading jump. He looked up at the bigger feline with big black orbs, Fake Tears shining in his eyes. <Why are you attacking me? I didn't do anything...>

Kei resisted the urge to facepalm at the sight of Shuri's tears, but decided it might be worth a try.

[★ Ryuujin !]

Sliding forward as he hit the ground on his paws, the Luxray quickly brought his head up as he spun around, glaring at the Eevee who had so lovingly destroyed his vision for the time being. The multiple copies caused him to roar in anger, stamping his paw as he released a thunder toward them, wanting them to stop. The several copies spinning around him made him dizzier and in fact, gave him quite the headache. Then, the question was asked, throwing the Luxray off. <Does it matter if you attacked me or not? I'm hungry! And you were right there!> He spat back, once again lowering himself to the ground, preparing himself.

At the Luxray's strong voice Shuri shuddered a bit. The pokemon was intimidating, not only because it looked rather wild but also because it was bigger and looked more stronger than the Eevee himself. At his words though Shuri stood up straight and cocked his head to the side lightly looking at the Luxray cutely with mocked confusion <But we have food.> He stated matter of factly, thinking that it was obvious that a trainer had food with them on a trip, though Shuri didn't think about the Luxray's situation. <You don't have to eat me.>

Shuri looked at Kei for a moment who was a bit further away from their fight. He was quiet, not giving orders for his pokemon on purpose, seeing that Shuri might have another idea for getting out of the situation. Though if it came down to it, he had his own plan as well.

Laying his ears back with a hiss at the 'emotion' he was shown before flicking his tail and looking away. Of course I run into the innocent one... He ran his tongue over his maw again at the mention of food before snorting, <I'm a hunter, it's what I do.> His tail began to sway from his annoyed state before glancing back at the Eevee, <Even if that was an offer, I couldn't accept it.> I'm wild... it's not how I was taught to live... With the thought, he glanced up at the pokemon's trainer, looking him over before straight in the eyes, standing tall.

Shuri looked at the Luxray with shining eyes, liking the pride and the strength radiating from the pokemon. He himself was only a tiny Eevee, he wouldn't get much bigger later either, so he always looked up at the bigger ones. <Well, you don't have to accept it if you don't want to.> He said, jumping over to Kei and looking up at the boy, mentioning to him with his paws, asking for food.

Kei was looking the Luxray in the eye, hoping that his little friend didn't actually told the feline to "eat my trainer please, not me". He glanced down at Shuri at his legs, catching up on the situation quickly. He reached inside his messenger bag and took out some set of pokemon food, about the amount that would make the Eevee full and placed it further in front of him on the ground, then stepped back and crouched down. He wasn't stupid enough to feed the wild pokemon from his hand, he wasn't sure if he would accept it anyway. "You can have some if you want." He said in the end gently while Shuri was watching the Luxray curiously.

Of course he didn't! That was right! Besides, the Luxray had his pride, and he was quite intent with holding it high. But... Tilting his head back as his ears laid back further yet, the Luxray snorted, his eyes traveling down to watch the Eevee and his movements. What a strange relationship... Then, the human spoke, a strange sound to the feline's ears and it made him shiver. It sounded so kind... something he wasn't used to. Taking a couple, cautious steps forward, the Luxray lowered his head, his eyes never leaving the human as he eventually stopped not far from the food. Lowering his head further, he sniffed at it, tail twitching with anxiety.

Kei was fascinated by the Luxray as well, he never saw such a pokemon. He did met with Shinx before but never it's fully evolved form, and he was really glad he had the chance of seeing one. They were really a beautiful and prideful creature. His gaze was not intent as to not to scare away the pokemon with eye-contact instead he just gazed over the Luxray's features with one eye shning from content, the other slightly lifeless and blank due to not seeing anymore. He was still holding a bit of Pokemon snack in his hands. "It's alright, the food isn't poisoned." He said with the same gentle voice, not sure if it meant anything for the feline but he had the habit of talking to the pokemons.

To ensure his sentence, he held the snack out for Shuri to take, the little one sniffed at it before taking it and nomming it happily, destroying the small bite in an instant. "See? Shuri likes it as well." He lightly rubbed the Eevee's cheek with the back of his hand before looking back at Luxray and watching him, relaxing his own position.

Dual colored eyes landed on the Eevee beside him as he rose his head from the food, watching the other take it from the human, eating it. It wasn't the fact that he feared it would be poisoned, it was more so that it was from a human, something that he had never had experience with before. It was a matter of going out of his own comfort zone, of beating back his pride and going against what he had always been taught.

With skin twitching, he shifted his gaze to land on Kei once more, his expression having changed from a hard, intense seriousness to one of slight curiosity and caution. He seemed to acknowledge the human as something that was alright, and in turn, lowered his head once more to the food, taking a little into his mouth - eating slowly.

Kei was content watching the Luxray and happy once he actually started to eat the food in front of him. Kei wasn't ever sure how to act toward people and pokemon, he just did what he think was somewhat right. Well, humans were different though. The boy hardly understood his own feelings so trying to understand a pokemon was quite a job for him.

Shuri already finished his snack and was waching Luxray curiously, just like he was doing so watching his trainer. Shuri seemed overjoyed when the feline took a bite and ate slowly, he even yelped quietly but happily. He pushed his chin to the ground while his backside and tail was still in the air, playfully wagging it while addressing the Luxray. <It's not bad, right, it's not bad. At least I still get to live!> He sit down on the ground with a cheerful smile. <Kei would be sad and that is just no good.>

Feeling oddly secure, the Luxray allowed his eyes to fall from the human before him to the food, examining it as he ate. The little silver snack beside him was right - it really wasn't too bad, though he wasn't sure if it would be something he could stand constantly, it wasn't something undesirable. <Yeah moyashi, you can live.> He muttered in between bites as he finished it, running his tongue over his maw once more. Continuing the action to clean his fur, he looked back up at Kei, curious, and took a step forward, nose twitching as he sniffed at him.

Shuri puffed up his cheek a little almost as if pouting with his canine face and retorted back, though quietly as he was still intimidated by the bigger feline's presence. <I'm not a moyashi! I have a name and it is Shuri!> He wasn't actually angry with the other but just a bit bothered by the nickname.

It was nice to see that the Luxray was somewhat satisfied with the food, though even a slightly and emotionally dumb person like Kei would guess that a wild and carnivorus pokemon likes raw meat better. Sadly he didn't have anything the likes with him, so the feline had to bear with the little pokemon food he had on himself. He was patiently waiting for the Luxray to get comfortable with him. As he stepped closer, Kei raised his hand just a little bit as to not startle the other with the movement. It would appear to be a bit stupid to raise his hand to a carnivore, but he was already captivated. "I don't have any normal food you would like with me. That one was made for Shuri actually, so I'm not sure how it fits your taste." The Eevee, hearing his name looked up at Kei for a moment then back to the Luxray. <I think we could actually get you food you like. It's hard to hunt in the savannah, isn't it?>
