Pleased to be out in some non-city air again, Cricket slowed down and turned to Ieri when they arrived in the place she had been leading him to.
"This place is perfect for battles, I think. It's mostly abandoned right now, and the environment is actually fairly variable." She took a deep breath and looked around. "It's also not a city."

Ieri nodded at this. They'd walked pretty far, yet it was rather nice to have some quiet. "Indeed," he answered after a moment before taking out a pokeball. It was time to push Tai a bit more. He needed the training to catch up to Rogue... and then, Ieri'd have all three hitmon evolutions. In another moment, he released the pokeball and watched the Tyrogue take form. Tai stood rather tough for a few seconds as he looked around realizing that he was in a battle now. Heh, great! "Ty-rogue," he stated aloud waiting for the battle to begin.

Cricket thought of using Sky, but.. she thought better of it. She wanted to train one of her newer Pokemon instead, at least for now. Instead, she released one of her hybrid Pokemon that she would love to have evolve.
"Druid, come out and play~" she purred as the spider-cicada creature appeared. The adorable thing blinked and looked around, giving a cute yet confused "Churrrr?"
"Isn't he cute? He's a Ninchuru, Nincada-Bachuru~" Cricket indeed looked proud to own the little bug-type.

Ieri blinked at the hybrid. He'd heard of them but never really seen one since they weren't common in nature given their inability to breed, usually. After a moment, he simply nodded slowly. Tai stared in utter confusion at the odd creature but finally shrugged his shoulders and made to stand in a fighting stance. "You may have the first move," Ieri stated aloud.

Cricket blinked, then smiled and dipped her head slightly in thanks to Ieri for allowing her first move.
"Druid.. Try a String Shot first~" The spider-like Pokemon nodded and turned to his opponent, breathing in deep and then shooting web at the Tyrogue to try slowing it down.

The Tyrogue was hit by the String Shot and made a rather long 'roooogue' sound which came out to something more masculine than 'ewwwww' but following the same context. Ieri sweat dropped but then thought about the next move. "Toxic," he stated aloud. The Tyrogue ripped through several off the annoying strings that were now attached to him and then formed the toxic substance before throwing it at the hybrid. In Tai's mind, it was rather perfect retribution for making him sticky!

Poor Druid was soaked in thick, oozy poison. He felt it get into his system and shuddered, knowing that it would damage him more and more every time it worked.
"..Crap. Uh.. Use Signal Beam!" Cricket hoped that the attack would confuse the small fighting-type that she was up against.

Tai fell square on his butt upon being hit with the Signal Beam. However, it didn't hurt him too bad given type match up, and it didn't seem to confuse him, thankfully for Ieri. After a few seconds, the Tyrogue shoved himself up and made to stand in a fighting stance again. Ieri seemed to nod at this. "Bulk Up," he stated aloud. The Tyrogue put his hands together and seemed to almost make the muscles in his arms explode with extra muscle.

The spider/cicada flinched as the poison harmed him, feeling slightly weaker as he shook himself. He looked to Cricket with a sidelong glance as if asking for direction.
"Uh.. Gastro Acid." Perhaps nullifying the Fighting-type's ability would be a good thing for her in the long run..?

The rather sickened look that came to the face of the Tyrogue when he was hit by the acid could only be compared with the XP smiley face as represented here. EWWWWWWWWWWWWW Dx. That wasn't cool at all! Ieri sweat dropped at the sight of the Tryogue flailing his arms a bit as he tried to get the acid off. After a few seconds more, Ieri shook his head a bit and became serious again. "Brick Break," he finally stated aloud. Upon hearing an order, Tai snapped back into reality and nodded before forming the attack and charging forwards.

Guh.. That had to hurt. A critical hit right in poor Druid's face. He shook with the effects of the poison again, then recovered enough to try a Discharge. Cricket allowed Druid to try what he thought he should try and only watched closely, in case she thought he'd need to be withdrawn.

The Discharge hit the Tyrogue who hadn't even had time to avoid the attack. Tai cried out and then fell back. Suddenly he cringed as the form of the Tyrogue was paralyzed. Ieri frowned for a moment but decided to try and order out an attack. "Try a Smooth Over," Ieri stated. The Tyrogue managed to fight the bulk of his paralysis down for that moment and released the attack (if a bit weaker due to his state).

((I assume Smooth Over is Level Field..? XDD I couldn't find Smooth Over anywhere, but Level Field was the closest thing I could find that was learned by Tyrogue))
It was super-effective on the Electric/Bug type, and he was getting close to his limit. The poisoning struck again, making him wince and he seemed to be struggling to stand. Cricket smiled as she thought of the best way out of this.
"Use Volt Change." she called to her Pokemon, who nodded and struck out with the Electric attack with all of his might. He was automatically withdrawn into his Pokeball as the attack was released, and then Cricket threw out her next Pokemon.
"Bright Eyes." she stated, giving her Pokemon's name as she appeared. It was a lovely little Nincada with shining green eyes and a sweet look.

The Volt Charge hit the Tyrogue, and he cried out shaking in his own paralysis barely standing there now. Ieri was debating whether or not to withdraw him, yet a rather oddly sharp look that came from Tai made Ieri stop. He... he wanted to keep going even if he fainted.... Ieri frowned a bit but sighed outwards. "Ankle Sweep," he stated aloud, yet Tai didn't move. Ieri blinked realizing that the Tyrogue was paralyzed then and there.

Bright Eyes nearly sighed in relief that she hadn't been attacked that turn. She looked to Cricket for a command, giving a little cry of "Nin nin?"
"..Oh, use Mind Reader." Cricket's mind seemed to be wandering, but Bright Eyes was happy to have gotten a command and used the attack to detect where the Tyrogue would move to next so that her next attack would strike without fail.

"Ankle Sweep," Ieri stated aloud, yet once again, it seemed that Tai had no luck and remained paralyzed there. The muscular man breathed in and then out again mentally rubbing his temples at this sort of dilemma. At this rate, Tai wouldn't be able to do anything but faint at the end of it.

"Now try a Metal Claw." Due to the Mind Reader in the previous turn, the Nincada's attack was guaranteed to hit, so Cricket wasn't worried. If she needed to, she could probably bring Druid back out to fight, but she wouldn't if she didn't really have to, and so far Bright Eyes appeared to be doing fine on her own.

Ieri sighed and slowly pulled out a pokeball to return the little overly determined pokemon, yet after a moment, the Tyrogue forced himself upwards, shook his head, and made for a fighting stance. A quiet smile of sorts placed itself on Ieri's face. He had to admit that he admired such determination whether it be in people or pokemon. "Rockslide," was the order, and with that, the ground and rocks were on the move. [/scrolly] |
