Stella-Maria was in a good mood for once. She was allowed out of the house today and atleast got to spend time out exploring the grounds of the heavily protected compound she lived in. The perky seven year old skipped through one of the few cactus gardens with her three pokemon at her side. She had been given five pokeballs recently in case she ever stumbled across any pokemon and really wanted to catch something.
Stella looked around through the different types of prickly plants hoping to see a pokemon. She was starting to get restless when one didn't show up right away. That was not how it was supposed to go. She was supposed to get one right when she wanted it. Stella-Maria wanted to have a talk with Amelia about this. Why were there no pokemon around? So what if it was winter and all the grass was dead and well living right on the outskirts of Scorch City it looked like a barren wasteland except for a few green cactuses. She still wasn't buying it as this was unfair.
WHERE WERE ALL THE FRICKIN' POKEMON!

Far off, what could appear to be a large rock if one didn't look at it carefully enough, a Torkoal pulled all the way into his shell could be seen relaxing rather openly yet somewhat inconspicuous to say the least of it. Even father away than that, a Nincada could be seen moving rather slowly west. However, other than that, there seemed to be no pokemon in the area for one reason or another.

Stella-Maria had been trotting about moving stones and lookings behind tumbleweed bushes trying to find any sign of life. It might have just been that snooty brat aura she put off that didn't attract pokemon to her. She saw something duck into its shell up ahead and realized it was a Torkoal. Stella realized she didn't have any fire type pokemon even after living in the south her whole life.
Instinctively she called out Olivier as in her opinion he'd be the best chance if it turned into a battle. At that point, though she'd probably end up running off crying since she had very little clue on how to fight. Stella-Maria had just recently been given pokeballs and the ability to go out on the property and try and catch a pokemon, but she sure didn't want to blow it.

The Torkoal seemed to register a new presence there yet didn't come out of his shell and resolved to continue trying to hide rather than deal with anything else. He wasn't one to fight on a regular basis, and most pokemon whether threatening or not, at least looked threatening to the timid creature.

Stella-Maria slowly approached the Torkoal afraid it'd burn her dress or something. She stood right in front of it hoping the pokemon would come out of it's shell. The little princess went really out her way for this one. "Sweety, please come out of your shell. There's no reason to hide from me." Stella said hoping to coax the Tokoal out so she could catch it.
She wasn't the most experienced, though and would probably end up doing something bad to it if not careful. Stella-Maria was in a good mood since she found a pokemon, though and it was perfect as it represented her home town which she had no other pokemon to do. All her pokemon were more East or West pokemon. In the south they had more ground and fire pokemon then anything else.

Slowly... very slowly... the Torkoal began to come out of his shell and looked towards the girl rather timidly but still looking none the less. She... was a ... child? Kind of cute given that younglings generally were.... So... what did she want? Er... uh......... The Torkoal turned his head to one side and then slowly to the other as he examined her.

Stella-Maria gigged as the Torkoal popped out of his shell. She thought it was so cute and motioned to rub down his shell as she squatted in front of him. The little girl was very happy he had come out and now wanted to play with him. "Hiya, I'm Stella-Maria, who're you?" Stella asked of the Torkoal who seemed to be wondering about her. It was really cute to the little, countess of the south's mind. She hoped he'd be nice and just let her catch him to make thins easy.

"Torkoal," was what the Torkoal answered with on the question of who he was ._. Well, that was it neh? After a few seconds, he slowly stopped examining the girl and found her not a threat before slowly nodding his head a bit. "Koal," he stated with a lighter smile more o rless saying 'hello'.

Stella-Maria was going nuts. The Torkoal was so cute and she just wanted to squeeze the ole' lump to death. She was very cheerful and was having an amzing time. "Hiya!" Stella said sitting down next to the Tokoal. Olivier jumped into her lap with a moments notice glad to have a spot to sit down at. She couldn't believe how cool it was to meet the fire-type pokemon. This whole process was blowing her mind away and she really hoped she could call the Torkoal hers soon.

The Torkoal sweat dropped a little but then smiled liking this sort of attention quite a bit. "Torkoal," he stated again rather happily more or less proclaiming another hello. "Tor-koaltor?" he asked after a few seconds wonder what she was doing out there.

Stella-Maria was absolutely swooned over the Tokoal and falling head over heels for him. She rubbed her hand down his shell smiling very widely at him. "Oh, I live here!" The little princess said pointing to the large house in the distance that was her residence. "What brings you here?" Stella was very happy and brought out Seraphina and Josaphina to come out and have fun, too.

The Torkoal blinked a little at the question. <I was just relaxing in the sun... I live around here kind of> he smiled after a moment nodding his head a bit at his own words. At the sight of the other pokemon, he blinked for a few seconds slightly worried that he was about to be attacked but then calming again.

Stella-Maria was smiling so widely from happiness. She gave the Torkoal a big hug and then began playing patty-cake with Olivier. The countesses other two pokemon walked up to Torkoal and playfully prodded at him. They were very intrigued by his thick turtle-like shell. "This is my new friend Tokoal you guys!" Stella told her pokemon focusing her attention back on the Torkoal and giving him another big hug.

The rush of attention was more or less beginning to unnerve the Torkoal whether he really wanted it to or not. The girl seemed sweet enough, if a little odd here and there eh. After a few seconds, he watched the pokemon that had come out and turned his head to one side. <Hello guys....> he finally stated to the other pokemon that were out.

Stella-Maria sat there next to the Torkoal leaning on him for support. She was so awe-struck it could seem to others that she had passed out. Really, the countess was just so happy because the Torkoal didn't seem to mind her. A lot of people and pokemon would just run away from her. <Hi there, I'm Seraphina and this is Josaphina,> the Rhyhorn said in pokemon speak to the Torkoal.

The Torkoal nodded at both pokemon's names. He didn't really have a given name, though Torkoal was the species name, after all.... <A pleasure to meet you both...> he answered back rather fluidly. <This little girl is quite an interesting one> he stated aloud hoping that maybe he'd get some more information on exactly who she was.

Stella-Maria was still gawking over the Tokoal while Seraphina and Josephina were continuing there conversation with him. <Yes, that's Stella-Maria. She's apparently famous or royalty or something like that to the humans. Sometimes she can be very well as you put it interesting> Seraphina said as Josephina gave her angry looks for talking abotu Stella in that way. <Oh stop it Josey, you know it's true.>

The Torkoal seemed to turn his head a little and sweat drop. Royalty? Erhm... ok? He wasn't exactly sure what that entailed but would accept it at this pioint. <Interesting........> he finally stated nodding his head a little.
