 Even though R4 began the rifts with the terrorist attacks, there is now an imbalance of energy within the Universes. Because of this, rifts begin opening up of their own accord, energy passing back and to between the rifts, escalating all the time until they eventually gain the power to swallow whole planets. It is now March 2463, and the Venia crew are working tirelessly to figure out a way to restore this balance of energy. The UGAP are busy building another new ship, the Helios, which should be ready in the coming months. But until then, the crew are working by themselves to solve the problem, and the more lives that are lost, the more the people begin to lose faith in their ability to be their saviours.
