Our Rangers are just like any others.
Though as far as I'm aware you still have pokeballs for your 3 starter pokemon and any you collect. (Though you don’t have to have them in the pokeballs). There are Ranger Stylers but players have been using it more of a prop as it doesn’t fit too well with VC and its normal rules.
I know we have a few pokemon rangers on the site already. Some of them have come from other regions and there is one character who is making a group for them. This also gives a bit more info about Rangers.

But yeah. Pretty much, our rangers are like the ones you see in the mainstream games. They still use PokeBalls and are perfectly allowed to catch Pokemon like any trainer (though once a group is officially established it might say otherwise, but even then they still 'could', they'd just be in in-char trouble), though most just choose not to. And they just go around helping people and Pokemon and being all nature-loving-tastic. ;P
