As Deep as The Woods(Jay/Open/Mod?)

Leaning against Yanti's side, Jason smiles as he listens to her scold him as he wraps his hand up. He was careful to keep the smile from her seeing it as he finishes tying off the wrap and turns toward her with a smile on his eyes still with the one on his lips gone.

"Yes, it was stupid of me to do it. But his words were rude and he was itching to draw out a fight. I simply solved the problem before it got out of hand."

As Yanti roared at him more, Jason shook his head. It was the truth. The man was verbally abusing Yanti for being too large and making a big deal out of something minor. So she bumped into a ancient statue and it fell down to shatter into pieces. It was an accident and she didn't deserve the abuse. So Jason had shattered the man's jaw and thrown him into the broken statue. Now Yanti was yelling at him and even though he couldn't understand her words, he could understand the jist.

"I am telling you it was an accident and he overreacted. Yes I realize that they probably are looking for me for the assault."

Walking over to Yanti, Jason hugged her and shook his head. He grew up with her and she watched him develop into the man that he was today. Unfortunately, she did have an opinion about it and wasn't shy in telling me. Rubbing her head, he walks over to the ruins of a stone ampitheatre and looks at it. So much history there.

"This will just put us on a more interesting path, Yanti."

The air was hot, yet the area was lush from the extra rain that the summer seemed to bring to the Eastern Woods. The day was moving away from full morning hours and was starting fully into the day. Yes this was the time to be out if any time such existed. The sounds of pokemon stirring could be hard with ease at this time, and the flapping of flying pokemon overhead was also able to be heard. Within this serenity of sorts, a blond haired man walked towards the Arcane temple with a light smile on his face, and an ease in his step.

What drew the eye as obscure in the picture was probably the noteworthy clothing the blond haired man was wearing. Despite trying to appear 'normal' while out in 'other areas' as quoted by Feliciano himself, he still managed to appear quite an odd thumb in the area. He wore a light lavender jacket along with what could only be described as flamboyant ruffles and several other extensively 'rich' clothing. One would have to admit that it was much more toned down than his regal wear, yet Feliciano was still a sight to be sure of even in that form of himself.

As he made his way towards the temple, Feliciano Rossi was neither rushing towards the temple or being over dramatically slow. Alongside him, a Roserade seemed to follow with a far more dropped demeanor than the man had. However, the Roserade did not complain or anything of the like for it was beneath him as far as Rosie, the Roserade whose name was more or less a torment he received upon joining Feliciano in the first place, thought. Instead, he was simply silent and kept the darker visage along with a wary eye in case any sort of commotion was about to begin.

"You're looking far more morose than usual, Rosie. What is wrong, dearest?" Felis asked with a light smile on his face even as he looked downwards at the Roserade. The Roserade said nothing but simply sighed to himself and made no comment. "Ah... ignoring me again are you? Well if you want to talk about it later, I am all ears," the blond haired man smiled lightly. The Roserade seemed to simply roll his eyes and say nothing.

"Oh and it appears that someone else is here as well..." Felis said aloud causing his Roserade to turn and look off to find a....Rosie's eyes narrowed a fraction, and the strange protective instinct that he had developed for Felis seemed to work its way into Rosie as he stared at the Tyranitar. However, Feliciano appeared un-fazed by the sight of a man and a Tyranitar and simply continued to approach with a light wave. "Hello~" Feliciano said stressing the sound of the word a bit. Rosie resisted the urge to smack himself in the face.

[With all the roaring that Yanti was doing at him, Jason couldn't hear anything else. Back and forth it went between the two till the man who had called was seen by both of them. Almost at the same time, they stopped arguing and sized up the stranger with both having the same thought going through their minds. This person might be here because of the incident. Yanti took the advantage before Jason could and stepped in front of him. Her stance was that of aggression and she tried to hide Jason behind her to protect him. Yanti opened her mouth and roared a warning toward the person.

Jason knew what she was doing and though he tried to move past her, she would push him back with her tail. They both studied the person and found that he was WAY too flamboyant for his own good. Such a person shouldn't exist, unless they personified that word. The person had a Roserade with him and it completed the look for the person, enhancing him.

If a battle the person was seeking, Yanti and Jason were willing to give on. A thought flashed through his mind briefly as they watched the person.

What if this person is innocent of our suspicions?

"ROSE-RADE!" Rosie shouted back at the Tyranitar as though threatening to maim her if she tried to harm Feliciano. Yep, the protection thing was a strange kick for the Roserade, and he was going to run with it if he had the chance. Unlike Felis, Rosie didn't mind a battle or two to prove he was stronger. Feliciano stared at the Tyranitar a moment before laughing lightly and smiling easily. Putting a hand on Rosie's head, Felis turned his head to one side carrying a light smile on his face.

"Now now that isn't very nice," he said aloud. Rosie looked irritated to say the least of things. "And what is all the roaring about? I swear one would think this place a quiet place since it is a Temple after all. You should work on your manners." Taking a step forwards before making an over dramatic bow, Felis stepped back up again and looked back at the Tyranitar. "See? One bows when meeting new people." He chuckled lightly to himself. Rosie's eye twitched, yet he said nothing.

Yanti and Jason stared in shock at this strange person as he bowed and smiled at them. A singular thought passed through their minds at such a display.

What sort of person is this?

Taking the initiative this time, Jason stepped around Yanti and pushed her open mouth closed. Smiling on the inside, he bowed and ignored the glare that Yanti was giving him. Maybe this person was innocent and did not know of the assault that he had committed.

"I am Alaste. This is Yanti."

Jason gestured toward Yanti and looked her in the eyes to reassure her. He was going to walk his path and his alone, no one else's. That is what landed him being disowned and that is what lead to his discovery of his calling.

Feliciano was more than pleased with getting a bow in return and smiled even more than before. Rosie rolled his eyes and finally gave into the urge of smacking himself in the face and sighing outwards. I will make no comment. I will make no comment. I will make no comment.... The Roserade repeated this thought over and over again as though trying to bring it into reality. However, in his own mind, he had already made a comment. Felis you idiot. Yes this was the comment that the Roserade would never begin to state outwards.

"My name is Feliciano Rossi, but feel free to call me Felis," Feliciano said happily. If his name didn't strike a chord with the man, Felis wouldn't care, but it it did, all the better. He could have used the formality 'duke' as it was his title. However, in the back of his mind, Felis always did believe that Lance II, his older brother, was going to come back from the Hoenn region and take control of the duke position once more leaving Feliciano to do what he wanted... which was exactly what he wanted in truth.

Responsibility was not Feli's goal in life, and he detested having the power to begin with. However, for his little sister that remained alive, he would do it. Yes, this was Felis's thought process... a tad more flowery, in truth, but basically the same meaning as the words that were just presented.

"So I'm guessing you're a traveler or something?" Felis asked with a light smile. In truth, he mostly guessed because of the fact that the man did not appear to be selling something not to mention the fact that the man was out of the castle which meant he wouldn't dare be employed anywhere else, so of course the last option was obvious. A traveler, yes. This was the thought process anyways.

Seeing the Roserade smack itself, Yanti bellowed out a laugh and held her sides as the man introduced himself. It was too much for her and she couldn't stop herself. She hit the ground as she collapsed from the laughter and Jason smiled. To him it was as if she was finally seeing the great things around them instead of worrying about a lynching mob coming after them.

As the man introduced himself, the name didn't strike a bell and Felis kept talking by asking a question.

"You might be guessing right and wrong at the same time, Felis. A traveler? Of sorts, yes. If it is my occupation you are seeking, I am a mercenary. Yourself?"

Now, Jason has had bad results in telling others his occupation. The problem with telling one the truth when asked is some don't wish to hear it or like the answer. That sort of thing causes a great deal of problems.

"Who is your comrade?"

Yanti finally pulls herself up off the ground and shakes her head at Jason. He shouldn't be so upfront with people. It will cause problems, she thought.

Upon seeing the Tyranitar laugh, the Roserade just continued to smack his forehead and rub it methodically. He did not hate his trainer. Feliciano had been very good to him, yet there were some times that Rosie knew Felis was a few candles short on a birthday cake.. or at least in Rosie's mind he was.

"I'm the Duke of the Eastern Woods," Felis said laughingly lightly as to almost confuse whether or not he was joking. The Roserade resisted the urge to smack Felis, failed in resisting, and smacked him on the leg anyways. The extremely blond haired man was oblivious to this. He could be after your head or something ugh.... Rosie thought to himself looking warily at the Tyranitar. He had no doubt that he could fight the pokemon if the need arose, and he was thankful for knowing many attacks that would easily beat down the Tyranitar being that it was part rock type.

"A pokemon trainer, if you would," he finally finished with a light smile. "And as for my companion, this is Rosie my Roserade. Your Tyranitar seems to be enjoying himself or finding some humor heh..." Felis laughed lightly. Rosie sighed outwards already knowing the Tyranitar was laughing at him despite how oblivious to this notion Feliciano was. The Roserade stared at the Tyranitar as though threatening if she dared laugh again at him.

Jason's and Yanti's eyes widened at the man proclaim that he was the Duke of the Eastern Woods. A smile goes across his lips as he turns toward Yanti and they both start laughing so hard that they have to lean against one another to stay standing. It fails and Yanti's weight forces them both to fall over onto the ground as they continue to laugh. Holding up a hand, Jason tried to get all the chuckles out before he spoke.

"You think ...ha.ha....tha..haha.... that Yanti....ha..hah.....to much.....I cant get it out."

As the laughter came spilling out from their mouths, Jason struggled to stand. He manages to stand and struggles to keep a straight face as he speaks.

"No offense meant, Duke Felis. Its just....ha haha.... Yanti is female. Normally she would be ...ha ha.... PISSED ...ha... at being called a male, but its just..."

The rest of his words gets swallowed up as laughter spills out again. After a few moments, it finally dies down and both of them compose themselves as they face the Duke of the Woods. They probably should leave right then and there, but this royal man was WAY too hilarious to miss. A smile was displayed across both of their faces.

"Enjoying a stroll through your lands?"

Rosie smacked his forehead again and sighed outwards wishing to attack them beyond normal reason to at least keep some of his pride. However, if they were laughing, it meant they didn't want to attack which was always a manner of a plus at least to Rosie. As long as he doesn't release that silly little Chikorita out as well, I'll be fine.... Rosie meditated to himself after a few seconds.

Feliciano, however, was simply standing there waiting for the laughter to finish. He laughed lightly to himself for a few seconds as well more or less spurred on by the man's laughter. "Indeed," Felis said lightly at the last comment on his lands. "Seeing as the Queen was overthrown, I've taken on quite more land than before," Felis aid with a light smile. "I also came to the temple to see if the suspicions were true."

At the duke's words, the mirth vanished from both of them and they once again were stone faced. It was the comment about suspicions being true that sobered them and made them almost wary. Jason knew that a Roserade was powerful and Yanti would be at a disadvantage against it, but that is why she knew a wide variety of moves. He was sure she could win a battle against such a tough opponent.

"What suspicions? That this place is haunted?"

Jason would rather not get in a battle among the ruins if possible. They were a valuable commodity of knowledge and much of it would be wiped out should a battle happen. He knew a Roserade was a dual type, but all he could remember about it was that it was a grass type. That was easy enough to see with the flower hands.

[Jay]

"Actually the suspicions about the temple being haunted have already been proven. Ghost pokemon do tend to make this place their home after all," Feliciano laughed lightly. Rosie said nothing but simply sighed to himself. Yes... haunted by... Gastly and the like. This had been proven time and time before.

"Apparently there is some sort of vandal working around and tagging and breaking the ruins," Felis sighed bit as a half frown worked its way on his face. "And of course the common people become scared, adn I can't have that now. Have you seen anyone like this?" he asked lightly with a genuine smile on his face.

Apart from his trainer, the Roserade was sizing up the Tyranitar and was already believing that she as well as her trainer were the ones who had vandalized the temple. Just one quick Petal Dance or Energy ball and it was finished..... he mused to himself wondering if he should simply attack or what to see what the man responded with.

A smile plays across Jason's lips as he answers the duke.

"I have not and if I should see this vandal, I will stop him for the sake of the ruins that are being destroyed. I give you my word as such."

Yanti looked at Jason in shock for a moment before cuffing him upside his head and roaring at him. She knew about his ridiculous code of honor and that he just bound himself to doing something. He has got to stop binding himself that way. After hearing his next words, she would sigh and start figuring out the best attacks to use should this get out of hand.

"I did upset your people and though I am not sorry for it, I am sorry for what happened to the statue."

[Jay]

The Roserade would have snickered had he not seen how irritated the Tyranitar was. Instead, he simply watched on with a cool amusement. At least he could tell he wasn't the only pokemon that had to play 'mom' for their trainer. However, this didn't lessen the fact that he actually did have to play mom which rather annoyed him in the end of things.

Feliciano bought it without a second thought, and as the man brought up what happened to the statue, he turned his head to one side for a moment and nodded a bit. People do tend to get upset easily.... especially the poor lower class... Felis had a strangely almost morose look on his face from thinking on this. "Well I hope the statue can be fixed," he finally answered back with a lights mile on his face once more. "But the entire temple can't be replaced." He pointed out suddenly griming to himself. "So as long as the temple itself is good then the pokemon residing in it are safe, and that means the people around it are safe. So everyone's happy right?" he grinned a bit. "But the vandals do need to be stopped soon." he continued a bit looking sideways now.

Jason smiled and nodded as he listened to the duke. The man knew more than he was letting on and there was the slip that proved the theory. Patting Yanti's side, Jason let her know that this was fine and signaling that it was time to leave.

"It was a pleasure to meet you, Felis. Unfortunately, my road lies elsewhere."

Turning to his left, Jason walked past Yanti and nodded slightly to her. They wouldn't impede the duke any longer and would find their fortune somewhere out there. The ground shuddered as Yanti walked with her friend and she roared out a farewell toward the duke as they walked away.

[Puppet]

A playful Abra watched from around a corner, floating silently with it's legs crossed. Grinning, it teleported right in front of the Tyranitar and made a face. Before it could even blink, it was gone again, behind Jason and tugging hard on a tuft of white hair. The psychic-type was gone again in a flash, appearing beside the Roserade and giving it a sharp kick on one of it's stubby legs. Making a face, it disappeared again, it's laughter echoing through the temple.

Feliciano was all but ready to get back to work trying to figure out what was going on in the temple, and he was about to say farewell to the man when the Abra appeared. He blinked and turned his head to one side. Rosie, who had been kicked, seemed to puff up a fraction and get angry. Forming an Energy Ball, he shot it at the Abra. In truth, he was just taking out irritation from the Tyranitar onto the Abra rather than angry at being kicked. Felis blinked again. "Well now...." he said aloud before looking around for where the Abra had gone to then. Is this the one that has been causing trouble....

"Heh."

No sooner had that left his lips at seeing a pokemon make a face at Yanti that it disappeared. Jason yelped loudly as his hair was pulled by a prankster and his eyes narrowed as Yanti chuckled at his misfortune. Turning, he watched as the Abra played some more pranks and an adequate revenge blossomed in his mind. He was as human as the next person, yet he was already thinking three to four steps ahead. Punching Yanti in the arm with his wounded hand, he bit back another yelp as he ran after the Abra with Yanti's laughter following.

It was a very exciting day without it being violent, Yanti thought. Turning, she pounded her way after her foolish friend. Today she was seeing him becoming more and more human than he has been in a long time. A smile came to her lips as she barreled through the forest after him and the Abra. Maybe she should thank it. As Yanti passed the Roserade, she snickered loudly while looking at him.

[Puppet]

The Abra was no where near when the energy ball was blasted from the angry Roserade. It cackled with glee at seeing the anger flash in the hair-pulled-man's eyes. Watching him dash away to go and find the Abra, it glanced back down at the blondie and it's bouquet. Appearing right in front of the duke, his closed eyes curved into a mocking smile, it spoke. That's right, spoke. "Hoggle posh flipper doodle dum." it taunted boldly, looking quite smug and satisfied before teleporting in front of Jason. Apparently, it didn't have anything worth listening to say, anyway.

As the white haired one and his tromping dinosaur drew closer, it poked it's tongue out of it's pointed little face. It levitated so close to the man that if it had stuck out a toe, it would've been right up it's nose. But instead, he merely stuck his finger down Jason's ear, cackling with glee before disappearing.

The Roserade swore sharply in a tongue all his own while Feliciano just stared some what surprised that it spokle. "Well... that was... unexpected...." he finally said aloud. "Rosie Magical Leaf the Abra," Feliciano ordered after a moment. The Roserade smirked and threw out petals designed to never miss their target. He was going to smack that Abra, and not to mention the Tyranitar, for being disrespected in such a manner. Feliciano, in truth, was having somewhat a humorous time with it.
