The Wind In The Trees [Mod]

[Willow]

Ilira gave a small smile, she hoped his spirits being high was a good thing. After all, some parents wanted their children to be all proper, like boring logs. However, the Leafeon didn't seem like that type. With a quick nod in response to the Leafeon the dark-type Pokemon turned to the Eevee and asked, "so, would you like to play a game?"

Raven nodded in response to the Togetic, while she probably wouldn't have used flowers as in example he was correct. After taking a deep breath the black-haired girl said, "yep, thats right. I was wondering, would you like to join us? You would get to see the rest of the region and grow stronger with us, like a flower."

[Lady Leaf]

[Leafeon - M] ~ [Eevee - M] ~ [Togetic - M]

<What would we play?!> The little Eevee all but yelped in excitement causing the Leafeon to chuckle. The Leafeon didn't feel like playing but he didn't mind waiting around and watching them. He slowly laid himself down just in time for a sudden drop of water to drip onto his nose. Then a second on his back followed by many more as the rain slowly grew stronger. <Perhaps we should play games another time.> The Leafeon suggested. It caused the little Eevee to let out a sigh and a little <Aww.>

<I can be a flower!> The Togetic cheered to Raven's suggestion as he spun around in the air. It seemed he had made up his mind within moments and was defiantly going to go with her. It would be fun after all.

[Willow]

Ilira was about to answer the Eevee when a drop of water fell on her nose, causing her to wrinkle it. I told Raven we should find shelter but nooo, she was to stubborn to listen. Lucky I was keeping track of potential hiding spots. As the rain began to increase Ilira offered, "I saw an abandoned den back with Raven, Cyar, and Gia. There was plenty of room, I think it was an old Ursaring den. You two could hide in there with me until the rain stops, I'm sure Raven wouldn't mind if she hasn't wandered off my now."

With a smile Raven exclaimed, "all right then!" She then threw a pokeball at the Togetic, hoping it would work. She didn't mind the rain, in fact she kinda liked it.

[Lady Leaf]

[Leafeon - M] ~ [Eevee - M]

The Leafeon nodded at Ilira’s words before looking at the Eevee with loving eyes, <What do you think?> He asked the young pup. <Yay!! Yes! Yes!> He called out, rather happy that he didn’t have to say goodbye to Ilira yet. <So it’s settled then. Lead the way.> The Leafeon smiled, as he looked back at the Zurua.

The pokeball scooped the Togetic up with a bright flash of red light. It winced once, then twice and then ‘Bing’ the light on the button went out as the pokemon was successfully captured.

Species: Togetic
Gender: Male
Ability: Hustle - Strengthens physical moves to inflict 1.5× damage, but decreases their accuracy to 0.8×.
Personality: This happy little egg pokemon isn’t the brightest light bulb in the lamp, but it tries it’s hardest. He loves making new friends and getting them to play games with him. He has a bit of curiosity within that little shell of his but he doesn’t seem to always understand things right away. He absolutely loves flowers of any kind, often rushing over to any he sees to smell, play with or pick. When it comes to battling he never seems to feel fearful or angry. He fights mostly by giving kisses and playing defensively. The only thing that usually gets him upset is when someone calls him mean names, in which then he will cry rather than getting mad.

[Willow]

Ilira smiled and announced, "okay, come on. Its not to far away." She was correct for it took little over a minute to reach the clearing where she had left her companions while going at a brisk trot. Once she arrived she found that Gia and Cyar where no longer fighting, instead the Piplup was twirling around in the rain while Cyar was avoiding the rain by hiding in a small one-Pokemon sized shelter in the roots of a tree. The Zorua cracked a small smile before telling the Eevee and Leafeon, "these are my traveling companions. The den is right behind the tree that the Cyndaquil, Cyar, is hiding under." At this Cyar glared at Ilira and exclaimed, "I'm not hiding! I'm a fire-type, I'm avoiding death!"

While some might have cracked a pose and loudly exclaimed that they caught a Pokemon Raven simply smiled upon catching the Togetic and began heading back to where she had left her Pokemon. Time to show them their new traveling companion.

[Lady Leaf]

[Budew - F] ~ [Castform - F] ~ [Leafeon - M] ~ [Eevee - M]

The Leafeon and Eevee followed closely behind Ilira. When they introduced to the ‘traveling companion’ the Leafeon nodded in greeting. <Hiiii!> was the greeting that cheery Eevee gave them. They then made their way into the shelter. The Eevee instantly shook his fur as the water splattered everywhere while the Leafeon just let it soak into his skin. It kind of felt nice on his leafy body.

Coming out to enjoy the rain a small Budew could be seen on one of the outside branches of a large tree. Floating around the ground in its water shape, a Castform could also be seen.

[Willow]

Ilira happily stretched when she entered the shelter, it was nice to be out of the wind and rain. The Zorua gave her fur a quick shake, making it looked all fluffed out, something that gave her a rather adorable appearance. She then cast a quick glance around, this place actually seemed pretty cozy. The ground, roof, and walls where all made out of soil, this was a natural den. You could seen roots on the roof, twisting around and making loops before vanishing back in to the soil. With a grin Ilira glanced at the Eevee and called, "look up at the roof! Those are roots up there, the bottom of a tree." While a den was not directly under a tree roots could spread pretty far, these where the roots of a near-by tree.

Raven noticed the Budew and Castform out of the corner of her eyes. She froze and silently turned to look at them, just to see what they where doing.

[Budew - F] ~ [Castform - F] ~ [Leafeon - M] ~ [Eevee - M]

The Eevee and Leafeon both looked up when Ilira told them to look at the roof. The Leafeon just smiled again as the Eevee claimed, <It’s like at home. But a bit bigger.> Of course the Eevee was talking about his and the Leafeon’s den. They normally used the same one over and over again each night. There use to be others living in it with them too which was why it was bigger but now it was only them.

The Budew had fond a small opening in the tree’s where the rain water could fall onto her freely without getting too big from the leaves. It seemed the grass type liked the rain. The Castform on the other hand seemed to be searching for something. Perhaps food?

[Willow]

With a curious tilt of her head Ilira asked, "whats you're home like? It must be pretty small if this is large compared to it, I mean while its bigger then most it is still just a dirt den." Upon saying these words the Zorua sat down, preparing to make herself comfy while waiting out the rain. A small cloud of dust formed when her body disturbed it, causing her to sneeze.

Raven frowned slightly as the Castform began looking for something. She quietly approached it before crouching down about three feet away so she wouldn't scare it before quietly whispering, "hey there, what ya looking for?"

[Lady Leaf]

[Budew - F] ~ [Castform - F] ~ [Leafeon - M] ~ [Eevee - M]

<Our home is the forest> The Leafeon replied before the Eevee could, <Everything you see from the tall trees to the dirt beneath our feet. The other pokemon living here are our brothers, out sisters and family.> The Eevee giggled a bit at this. He had been told things like it by the Leafeon many times before. <Our den is just were we sleep and its full of dirt too! But it has memories!>

The Castform didn’t look up as she heard the voice of Raven but instead continued to search, <Something shinny> It replied as he searched, <It has to be shinny>

[Willow]

Ilira smiled and commented, "thats sweet. My home is anywhere my friends are, you see we are always moving. We rarely stay in one place for more then two nights, in fact knowing Raven we will probably be on the road again when the rain clears up. But then again we might leave in the morning, depends on if she feels like camping here for the night." If you looked out of the den you would see that the sun was beginning to set, giving the dark clouds light pink and orange tints.

As Raven reached for her bag she commented, "shiny, eh? Well I might just have something for you in that case." After rooting around in her old black bag for a moment she withdrew her hand with something in it, a shiny coin. With a small smile she placed it in from of the Castform and said, "here ya go."

[Budew - F] ~ [Castform - F] ~ [Leafeon - M] ~ [Eevee - M]

<I never left the forest.> The little Eevee claimed before pouncing on top of the Leafeon, <Have you ever left the forest pa?> The Leafeon shook his head. <No, I was always told it was dangerous out side the forest.> After all, they never had much to fear inside the forest but without the protection of the trees… well, they didn’t know much about the out side world.

The Castform stopped searching for a moment to look up at the human for the first time. She was rather interested to see what kind of shinny the human might have. Maybe it would fit! When the coin was presented to the Castform, the pokemon instantly smiled. Quickly she took the coin, uttered a <Thanks> and raced over to a large tree. The tiny weather pokemon then disappeared inside a small hole in the tree. It seemed pokemon were disappearing often on Raven that day. Luckily enough, she came back, carrying a small purple, top hat on top of her head and the coin in her mouth. In the center of the hat their was a small imprint that indicated some sort of jewel or stone was once placed inside it. <It’s too big> the tiny pokemon sniffed as she made her way back over to Raven.

[Willow]

Ilira nodded and said, "you're right, the outside world can be dangerous." Her eyes seemed to zone out for a moment as she said, "I know that better then most." However, it was not long before she snapped out of it and said, "but, the rewards are great. You will get to see things that you know never imagine, go to places that you can normally only visit in you're dreams. You can see the sun set over the ocean, making it look like an endless sea of gold. You can see great snow-tipped mountains that seem to touch the sky, imagine being able to climb that. In some places there are great rock mountains with a hole at the top, sometimes you will see liquid fire when you look in it. There are seemingly endless fields of grass and flowers, places where it seems like the sun is always shining and places where you can see every single star at night. Far up north Raven said there is a land where it seems like its always winter, tiny cold pieces of cloud that turns to water when it gets warm, snow, falls from the sky. When you look up at the sky at night in this place you can see all sorts of colors dancing in the sky. There are many more things that I haven't described, that I can't describe. However, you can only see these things if you travel and explore, if you risk the danger."

Raven frowned as the Castform came out with the hat, so it seemed like the shiny thing had to be a certain size. With a sigh Raven reached in to her bag again and pulled out a smaller leather bag. She dumped its contents on the ground, revealing a collection of shiny stones and gems in all shape and sizes. They are mostly worthless things that she had found on her journey, however one of them might fit. With a quick gesture to stones she announced, "take you're pick."

[Lady Leaf]

[Castform - F] ~ [Leafeon - M] ~ [Eevee - M]

The Leafeon listed to the Zorua’s speech and even though he found it interesting he didn’t appear any more interested with the idea of leaving his safe home than he did before. He was content with life the way it was, though at the moment his life revolved around the little Eevee. A little Eevee that seemed overly fascinated with explanation of the outside world. <I want to see the colours! That would be so cool! And snow! What’s snow like? I heard it is cold. I dunno if Id want to see liquid fire though. That sounds scary.>

The Castform’s eyes widened with excitement as it saw all the pretty shinnies fall onto the ground. With a happy cry, it set its top hat onto the ground and began searching through the stones and gems looking for something that might fit. Sure enough she found one. It was a bright green gem that seemed to pop into place almost instantly! It was so perfect! With even more excitement the little Castform slipped the hat back onto it’s head and began to move about, trying to show off how pretty she though the purple top hat with the lime green stone was.

[Willow]

Ilira couldn't help but give a small chuckle at the Eevee, he just seemed so exited! With a grin the Zorua chirped, "you're right, snow is cold. However its fine as long as you aren't out in it to long, plus snow can be light and fluffy, like clouds or feathers. Its really fun to play in when its like this, in fact its probably the best thing about winter in my opinion. You don't have to worry about the liquid fire, thats called lava, as long as you don't come to close to it and you don't come when the volcano, thats the mountain that the lava is in, is erupting. Luckily that doesn't happen to often. As for the colors I've never seen them in person, however Raven said that we will be going to see them when we're done exploring the Eastern Woods."

Raven smiled as the Castform danced around in its top hat on, it really was an amusing sight. As she began to pick up her stones and put the collection in her bag she announced, "well, I have to get back to my Pokemon, they will probably be wonder where I am by now."

[Lady Leaf]

[Castform - F] ~ [Leafeon - M] ~ [Eevee - M]

The Eevee hopped up and down listening to Ilira explain again before looking down at the Leafeon who didn’t seem to mind being hoped on. He didn‘t think the lava sounded fun at all but the lights did. <Do you think could see the lights, pa?> She asked, causing the Leafeon to let out a sigh as he looked up at the Eevee. He didn’t really want to leave the forest but he also didn’t want the Eevee to venture out of the forest without him either. What if he got hurt? <Maybe> he finally replied.

‘More people to show off the hat too!’ was the thought that ran through the Castform’s mind as it chased after Raven.

[Willow]

Ilira cast a small smile at the Eevee before commenting, "you seem pretty interested in the lights. You know, there is a story about how they where made, its actually about a Espeon and a Umbreon. Would you like to hear it?" Ilira personally loved the story, it seemed to speak to her. She figured it was because she related to it, being in a bad place then getting somewhere better.

Raven raised a eyebrow as she noticed the Castform fallowing her and asked, "would like like to come travel with me?"

[Lady Leaf]

[Castform - F] ~ [Leafeon - M] ~ [Eevee - M]

The Eevee gave a huge smile before snuggling into the Leafeon, <Ohh yes! I love stories! Pa tells me some all the time.> The Leafeon smiled at this, also interested in hearing the story. <Yes I do, but I have never heard this story before. Let’s listen.> and all went silent as they waited to hear it.

The Castform paused for a moment when Raven asked if she would go with her. She thought about it for a moment before shaking her head. No, she wasn’t ready for something like that yet. But she did want to meet her other pokemon to show of her hate!

[Willow]

With a small smile Ilira took in a deep breath before beginning her story, "Long ago there was a great forest. Many Pokemon lived in this forest, however this story focuses on five of these Pokemon. The Leafeons that thrived by the trees, the Espeons that walked in you're dreams, the Vaporeons that swam through the streams, the Umbreons that prowled the night, and the Eevees that where yet to choose what they would be. However, not all was well in this forest.

The Leafeons, the Espeons, the Vaporeons, and the Umbreons where at war. They all thought that their evolution was superior and deserved to rule the forest, all others below them. The Eevees and Umbreons where the ones that had suffered the worst so far in this war, the Eevees lost all choice, they where expected to become the same evolution as their parents or where captured by an enemy evolution and forced to evolve. The Umbreons on the other paw where almost extinct in the forest, only ten or thirteen left. This was because the other evolved Eevees viewed them as scum, demons. After all, they where dark-types, creatures of the night. The only thing the other evolutions agreed on during the war was the time they teamed up to attempt to destroy the Umbreons, the demons.

Kalia was one of the few remaining Umbreons. She was nothing special, she was not a shiny, not incredibly beautiful, not shockingly ugly, not from a powerful family, not well-off, and not famous. She was not perfect, she was not anything clearly remarkable. However, she was brave and she was dedicated. Kalia did not like the war, she wanted out, she wanted freedom. Kalia told this to her best friend, a Vaporeon named Tetsuki many times. However, every time Tetsuki told her to get over it and accept things the way they where, to live with it.

And she did until one fateful night. One day Kalia heard horrifying screeches coming from the rivers, coming from the Vaporeons territory. The young Umbreon raced over there just in time to see a horrifying sight, the Leafeons where attacking the Vaporeons. It looked like every single Leafeon old enough to fight was there, attacking the Pokemon with a type disadvantage. Almost the moment she arrived the lead Leafeon, Charleston, let out a loud yowl and ordered his Leafeons to retreat. Kalia had to suck behind a tree to avoid getting trampled by the wave of retreating grass-types. Once they where gone Kalia raced out on to the battlefield. However, what she saw was a river running red with blood. It was obvious that this was a slaughter, the Vaporeons never stood a chance. No matter how much she searched she could not find a single living Vaporeon, ether the Vaporeons where now extinct of the survivors had all fled the forest. At least, that is what she thought until she found one familiar Vaporeon, hanging on to life by a string. There was Tetsuki, laying on a flat rock by the river, her blood stinging the gray surface crimson.

Kalia called, "Tetsuki, hang on, I'll go get help!"

However, Tetsuki just gave a sad smile and said, "its to late, Kalia. Now, listen and listen closely because I don't have much time. I was wrong, you need to leave. Gather up all the Eevees you can then go south, leave the forest. Search for any surviving Vaporeons, look for other Eeveelutions. This is just one forest, there must be more out there."

Kalia shook her head and croaked, "goodbye, Kalia."

With that she closed her eyes and let the last breath leave her body. A tear fell down Kalia's face and she lowered her head in despair as possibly the last Vaporeon, her best friend, became forever still."

Ilira paused, allowing the Leafeon and Eevee to comment before she continued.

[Lady Leaf]

The Leafeon and Eevee listened to the story. They had both been pretty claim at first but that slowly changed as the story went on. The Leafeon managed to stay rather claim the entire time but the Eevee had to hide his eyes every now and then or would shift his body around. Finally when there was a break from the story the Eevee looked down at the Leafeon. <Why did the Vaporeon become still?> He asked a tad confused. The Leafeon sighed before looking up at the Eevee. <Remember what I explained about mother?> He asked causing the Eevee to gain a rather sad expression. <Oh> he sighed before adding, <This story is sad> They both then looked back at Ilira, waiting to here what else happened in the story.
