Mekura vs. Charisma

Roulette battles had finally been decided. The blond haired girl sighed with relief. She had gotten all her pokemon. Although it had been her pokemon's choice to enter she really didn't like the fact that she would be battling with pokemon she didn't sooner or later. Walking to her spot in the battle Area outside she pulled her cap low so that her eyes couldn't be seen.

Risa patted her Trainer's head from her spot on Mekura's shoulders. Risa and Rio thought this would be fun so they had left all the others in a storage unit. This was to keep Kaiyou from popping out in the middle of the battle. Knight had refused to be left behind so he got signed up instead of Hana. Oh well Risa knew this was going to get interesting. Resting her arms and chin on Mekura's head she looked about noting everything in the arena and giving Mekura pictures and Details.

Mekura pulled out Knight's poke ball and waited for the other Challenger and for someone to say begin. "Alright Risa lets hope we win this. If we lose I will treat you all to a good dinner." Risa smiled and patted the bill to the hat.

[KARP KARP!]

Charisma surveyed the surroundings, sizing up her opponent with her red eyes as her long, maroon hair flowed behind her. In her hand, was a Pokeball. Though, one would probably wonder how the bassist wasn't burning alive in her navy blue long sleeves and matching slacks.

"You ready?" she asked Mekura politely, sending out Pyro, her Magmortar. The woman hadn't a clue what Mekura was going to send out, but Pyro was usually the first Pokemon she relied on. And the fact that she got to use her full team in the first round, as opposed to flying blind. As a result, however, her opponent got the same privilege.

Both Trainer and Pokemon stood there, waiting for the opponent to make her move.

Mekura listened and nodded her head to her opponent. When Risa told her what she was using she sighed at not having signed up a water type instead. Hitting the button on Knight's ball she let the young Shinx out. "Knight Thunderfang."

Knight nodded and charged forward attempting to hit the fire type with Thunder fang. It it hit it could cause the foe to flinch or become paralyzed. Though it was only a chance but knight was counting on it. He wanted to do the best for his queen. He would help her win no matter what. Even if she seemed to not care either way.

[KARP KARP!]

Charisma's eyes flashed, a grin on her face; she was already fired up for this. Aside from being a bassist for Grass Ice and Fire, battling was the second thing Charisma lived for. However, she wasn't in it for the prize; she just wanted to compete. It was her addiction, being locked in battle with her team by her side.

"Pyro, Fire Punch!" The Magmortar's fist became engulfed in flames as he aimed the flaiming punch at the Shinx. Charisma had to smile softly at Knight, though. He reminded her of her own Shinx.

[Admiral Striker General]

Though his Intimidation had plenty of time to take effect, the Shinx barely had time to charge his fangs before the flaming punch connected, but he took it surprisingly well. His bite soon sank into that fist to discharge its electric energy, hitting surprisingly well, too, though he did also sustain a burn. For as uneven as the fight seemed, it was actually off to a fairly even start. The real question was how long would it last?

Mekura nodded as Risa reported the damage to her. "Alrighty Knight use Scary face then Crunch." Knight nodded his head and used scary face. Quickly following it up he raced in an attempt to hit the foe with crunch.

Mekura seemed to look over at the other girl but to her opponent she would probably sense that Mekura wasn't really looking at her. Risa watched from her spot on Mekura's shoulders seeming to be nothing more then an audience at the moment.

[KARP KARP!]

Charisma smiled; so it seemed the little guy was tougher than he looked. That was always a good thing.

"Pyro! Sunny Day, then Flamethrower!" Charisma countered, her red eyes never leaving her opponent. This would prove to be rather fun, and Charisma loved it that way.

[Admiral Striker General]

The sun's rays intensified over the battlefield, as if shining a massive spotlight on the site of combat. As Pyro leashed a Flamethrower, Knight's face became unnaturally horrifying, a power bordering on supernatural seeping into the Magmortar's mind and making him to wary to move at his full speed. However, poor Knight had no time to continue his orders once the Flamethrower hit. Between the powerup of the sunlight and then ungodly difference in Pyro's special attack compared to Knight's special defense.... The term "overkill" might have been an understatement at this point, leaving the kitten on his back, twitching, and possibly a little crispy.

Knight's last thoughts before he had passed out were that he couldn't believe he had lost. He'd failed his queen. Mekura blinked as Risa reported what had happened. Dang. Maybe bringing her young pokemon was a bad idea. Pulling out Knight's pokeball she returned her pokemon with a mental promise of getting him some special treats.

Pulling out Rio's ball next she hit the button letting the Riolu out. Alright Rio lets show your brother we can win this. Rio jumped up and down excited as he awaited his first orders. Rain dance then Earthquake... Riolu nodded his head and quickly performed the move rain dance before using the move Earthquake. This round was bound to be more fun because Mekura no longer had to call out her attacks.

[KARP KARP!]

Okay, that was one down.

"Pyro! Hyper Beam!" Charisma commanded, and the Magmortar obeyed, blasting the powerful beam of energy at the Riolu.

[Admiral Striker General]

The Hyper Beam was absolutely devastating even with no particular bonuses, simply by merit of the Magmortar's god-like special power compared to the Riolu's minimal defenses against such attacks. The Earthquake certainly took its toll, but the baby simply couldn't compare to the fully evolved Pokemon's power.

Mekura sighed as Risa reported the damage. Rio Substitute then Rest. Rio nodded and quickly moved to follow orders. He wanted to show his brother he could do this. The only reason he had gotten to sign up with Mekura was because he said he could do it.

"Sunny Day! Then Belly Drum!" The Magmortar gave a nod, though he really wanted to tear into something. But nonetheless, he obeyed. [/scrolly]

Rio created a magnetic plasma copy of himself, then promptly fell asleep while the sun dried up the rain. It was a horrid price the Magmortar paid for his Belly Drum, but the stat boost received in return could make some legends tremble. If measured in numerical terms, his Attack now exceeded his maximum health!

Mekura waited for Rio to wake up before calling out her next attack. Alrighty Sleep talk... Risa watched as the battle commenced. It was rather interesting. She hoped she got a crack at it. Blinking she watched the other girl's pokemon and wondered what would happen. Rio would probably have one good hit before the sub was down.

Then Dynamic Punch!" Charisma knew Pyro didn't have much left. But it didn't matter. Pyro was normally her starter, yeah. But by no means was he her only heavy hitter. And due to her good luck, she had all three of hers for this round. [/scrolly]

The smoke obscured Pyro a good deal, and as he reared back, Rio called a rather speedy move from his Sleep Talk. The Vaccuum Wave hit just before the DynamicPunch annihilated the Substitute. Unfortunately for Mekura, the Riolu's special power was.. less than impressive, but unfortunately for Charisma, while the inaccurate move was lucky enough to hit at all, the Substitute had protected the target from the accompanying confusion. At any rate, Rio should be waking up after Pyro made his next move.

Mekura watched as Rio finally woke up. Rain dance followed by an earthquake.. Hopefully this would work though considering the other pokemon was an evolved one it might not.

Rio woke up and looked around at the orders he stretched and moved to obey. He was happy to work with Mekura. If he could take down this pokemon maybe his brother would give him a break.

Pyro knew that he was nowhere near a hundred percent, but hey, his attack had been amped up to a ridiculous level. And he was going to make sure the Riolu felt it. If only there was some pretty girl watching... [/scrolly]

The rain poured down, but in the time it took to do so, the Magmortar had come rushing with his own attack, colliding with massive force just as the tremor shook the field. In their contact, Rio was burned, sustaining damage from this as well. When the smoke cleared from the field- that is, both when the Pokemon separated and when the literal Smokescreen dissipated- both lay unconscious.
