The first Thunder did indeed break the Substitute, and the second hit Jubal for a good bit of damage. Afterward, the rain finally wore off. Jubal should be waking after Z's next attack. It was worth noting, however, that using so many powerful Thunders in a row had made Z look particularly worn out. Already his second had been a bit weaker than the first, and he looked as though further would just keep diminishing unless given a good long break from them first.

It still hurt, but eh. Jubal could take it... now only if he would wake up. In the mean time Z used another evasion raising ability, causing Xav to groan slightly. He wracked his brain for any moves to counter that particularly nasty stat... just in time for Jubal's lids to crack open. "Ah, rise and shine~" He chimed, Jubal yawning somewhat before looking back at Xavier. "Throw a Safeguard up and try an Ice Beam." He said, Jubal humming in reply and performing said moves. More of Z appeared while Jubal protected himself from ailments. By some luck, the Ice Beam still hit the right Z.

Xavier didn't like the sound of that at all... and with Z's massive evasion boost, it felt like this was going to be an uphill battle. "Try and Protect against the Cannon, then Roar." Xavier spat, Jubal quickly throwing (or at least attempting to throw) up a shield, before bellowing in a fierce Roar. [/scrolly]

The Protect worked, a wall of energy flying up in the last half-second- just in time to block the Zap Cannon. The Roar then forced Z into his ball, and out came Thorn the Weavile. Her Pressure would make it much harder for Jubal to use two moves per turn.

The irritated looking Weavile looked backwards at Haii, who leered back at her, before they settled forwards again and leered at the Lapras in question. "Start out with Sword Dance then use Brick Break," Haiiro ordered. [/scrolly]

Oh lord, not a powered up Brick Break. Xavier sighed, scrambling to find something - anything, really - for the Lapras to do in order to counter measure the attack. Fff... well fine. Go big or go home, ne? "Perish Song." He winced, Jubal wincing also, but began singing his song of death. Ugh, How unsavory.

Thorn's hit was as precise as devastating, but Jubal was fortunately a fairly hardy Pokemon. He wasn't going to go down quite that easily. Even as he recovered from the blow, the eerie requiem began, pouring out from Jubal as if merely flowing through him as opposed to being sung by him. The entire battlefield, for humans included, suddenly felt cold and unnatural, as if death could snatch any of them away at any moment.

Xavier wasn't thrilled to have sentenced Jubal to death like that, but it would be beneficial in the long run... hopefully. Xavier had a plan spring to mind, somewhat... "Set up a Rain Dance, Jubal." Was all he ordered, Jubal nodding and proceeding to do his dance of sorts.
