Heck yes this was going to be fun. She had entered for a variety of reasons, yet the one that seemed to stick in the front of her mind the most was just how fun this was actually going to be. Smirking to herself, the blond held the ball she was going to release first close to chin and smirked a bit more. "Let's start this off with some bangs," she chuckled to herself before finally releasing the contents of the ball. Drake had been very excited to sign up for the Roulette Tourney, it was a great way to get some battle practice in. Plus the chance to win prices, but that wasn't the main reason he was here. He had always enjoyed a good battle and the chance to learn from it. He could see his opponent Teme stood not far off and seemed eager to start the battle. From her own pokeball she released a shiny Manectric that looked as ready for battle. Picking his own pokemon he released his Haxorus onto the field. "Tallera, kick this off with earthquake." It was a strong move to use right away He could feel the ground underneath move as his dragon obeyed.

Teme had no problem with that. "Magnet Rise!" Teme called, and with that, Shiori raised herself up off the ground. "Now Charge Beam!" the blonde called. With that, the electrical attack was released. The Manectric was faster by far, her levitation rendering the Earthquake useless, both now and for a while to come unless Drake and his Haxorus found a way to bring her back down to earth. Meanwhile, the Charge Beam connected, and while it did rather minimal damage thanks to the dragon's resistance, it did grant the benefit of empowering the Manectric's special abilities a bit.

As the Manectric used her magnet rise to avoid the earthquake attack, Drake was already trying to think of what he should have Tallera do next. It was clear that the Manectric was faster then her, but there were ways to get around the advantage of speed. "Use dragon dance, then use payback." The attack if it hit should do more damage since Tallera just got hit by the charge beam attack, plus with the added effects of the dragon dance her attack power should go up a little bit. He watched as the rings formed around Tallera before she fought back with payback.

Illusory copies of the Manectric began appearing, increasing the odds of dodging the move. Shortly after, the Dragon began her Dance, raising her power and speed, though still falling just short of the agile Manectric. Shiori's moving first with a self-targeting move did give time for the temporary boost Payback would have received to wear off, but that didn't change that Tallera's power was massive, and she still landed a fairly good blow despite the copies.

Drake watched as the copies formed on the field, but was thankful that Tellera manged to make a good hit. "Use your dragon pulse." It was a more powerful dragon attack and if it hit could do some damage thats to her raised attack from the dragon dance. However this Manectric was fast and he wouldn't be shocked if she was able to get out of the way in time.

"Thunder Wave then Flash!" Teme called back. She wasn't going to let that Dragon hit if she could help it. [/scrolly]

The Thunder Wave paralyze the dragon, reducing her speed harshly, while bright lights made it harder to see her foe. Thanks to the stacking of evasion boost and accuracy reduction, the Dragon Pulse missed.

Drake cringed with his pokemon was hit with the thunder wave and no doubt her speed went way down. "Use double team." With her double team in place there would be a higher chance that the Manectric might not hit her every time. He watched the clones form and waited to see how his opponent would strike back.

"Mimic!" she called hoping that due to the speed of Shiori, she would move first and mimic the Dragon Pulse that had been used the round before. Mimic was not Mirror Move, so it really wouldn't have been fine. Shiori already knew Double Team, after all. Fortunately, the move did work, and temporarily Dragon Pulse was added to Shiori's movepool. Such did not bode well for the Haxorus, but at least she was able to raise her evasion.

Crap, so now that Manectric could use the move dragon pulse. "Use harden first off." The move would rise her defense, which now they would need that on their side. "Now use surf." Hardly a strong attack to use on the electric pokemon, but that wasn't what Drake was aiming for. He watched as she moved slower with her attack, but he was hoping an attack like surf might have a little bit higher chance of hitting its target.
