Don't Tread on Me [Mod]

Ashter stumbled through the brush awkwardly, stepping over thorns and stumps The whole of the place seemed to suck you in, and Ashter gasped several times trying to untangle her hair from the vines. She was followed by her Bulbasaur, who was parting the foliage and plants with his own vines. The Bulbasaur seemed to be listening for any other sign of Pokemon life, while Ashter was looking around intently for movement. This jungle was just the kind of place Ashter had been looking for; she was in a dire mood for some jungle Pokemon. Any kind would have been nice for her, as long as the Poison types kept a reasonable distance. She wanted the perfect team.

That team consisted of Fire and Grass and Dragon, along with some other random types. Or even a starter (she almost squealed at that thought). She was determined to catch as many here as she could find. Any type was fine, as long as they appeared before Ashter was covered in brush.

[KARP KARP!]

An Aipom swung happily through the trees nearby; he didn't even notice the human. A Chatot's squawk could be heard not too far away from the spot.

Off in the distance, a Sceptile was heading Ashter's way. It seemed as if she wasn't very happy. But, at the same time, there was something different about her...She was more of a bluish tint...yes! She was Shiny!

Shasta stiffened at the Chatot voice, and then growled almost inaudibly when she saw the Sceptile. Ashter, however, could not believe her luck. A last evolved form? And shiny at that! She instantly pointed to the Sceptile and whispered to the Mightyena, "That's yours, use Crunch."

Shasta ran up to the Sceptile immediately with her jaws ready for attack.

Ashter had no idea what the bird calls were, but, interested, sent out her Gothita. "Go find that bird, Rue, and use Psyshock." Rue nodded, excited, and ran over to where she could best hear the Chatot calls. She then let loose with her psychic powers, aiming for the point where the Chatot seemed to be.

[KARP KARP!]

Occasionally, the Sceptile would glance over her shoulder, almost as if making sure no one was following her. Upon turning back to the road the last time she looked, she noticed a Mightyena charging her. Great...another one. Rushing in, she instinctively met the Crunch attack with a Leaf Blade; the consequence of this being a set of Mightyena teeth sinking into her arm, but no matter.

The Chatot was nailed by the Psychock, and blinked, shaking himself off. Then...he attempted to fly away. <Nooo! Don't hurt me!>

Shasta yelped as the Leaf Blade hit her, but went in for another Crunch at Ashter's command. The Mightyena ducked this time as she went for the Grovyle, as if to prepare for another Leaf Blade.

Ashter frowned as she watched the behavior of the Chatot - or what she could see of it. "Another Psyshock, now!" she yelled at Rue, wondering why on earth the Pokemon seemed so edgy. Rue, however, had no intention of letting her prey escape. She let another beam of energy trained at the Chatot, running as to keep in sight of the bird. She was here to train.

[KARP KARP!]

The Chatot fell to the ground, shaking himself off. Turning around, he glared at the Gothita, then unleashed a Hyper Voice.

Meanwhile, the Sceptile saw the Crunch, and retaliated with a Low Sweep. Again, she took the attack, but she was nowhere near finished.

<Foolish human-slave!> she shouted.

Rue flew backwards but quickly stood up, determined to show this bird how strong she was. Without listening to her trainer, the Gothita used another Psyshock, flashing a grin that ordinarily would not belong on the small Pokemon.

The Mightyena hesitated for a moment, taken aback by the Sceptile's agility and most of all, her language. Slave?! We're friends!

"C'mon, Shasta, don't back down! Use Assurance!" The Mightyena circled the Sceptile, as if to warn it not to try and run, then bared down on it with the attack.

[KARP KARP!]

The Psychock dropped the Chatot, and though he struggled, the poor little bird finally fainted.

The Sceptile, though hit by the Assurance, would not give in so easily. <You're just like the rest of them. Attacking innocent Pokemon just because you're told and the human wants one. My coloring doesn't help matters, either. Do you know what it's like to try to eat and get hit from behind? Or fearing sleep because you're afraid of being attacked? Humans are dirty, selfish, and careless. And you're just as guilty for obeying one.>

Finishing her lecture, the Shiny Sceptile rushed in with a Drain Punch.

Ashter smiled and yelled a "Good job!" to her Gothita as she pulled out a Pokeball and threw it at the Chatot. Rue just blushed and congratulated herself silently, turning to watch her Mightyena friend fight.

Shasta had been buddies with Ashter for so long. At the Sceptile's words, she simply shook her fur and growled. Ya, well, the same question goes for a lot of other life situations, don't they? Like how war is suddenly started on innocent Pokemon and humans alike? The Mightyena fell when hit with the attack, and felt energy being sucked. Tired... And I can't say all of these trainers hunt you guys down all of the time. My human isn't like that at all! She's nice to us!

"Shasta, c'mon and use Crunch again! We're almost there!" Ashter was cocking her head in a doglike position as she squinted in the direction of her dark type Pokemon. Wondering what it was doing..?

Shasta jumped back up to her feet and dodged in towards the Sceptile, jaws bared in indignation.

[KARP KARP!]

The Chatot was sucked into the ball, which shook a few times before finally ringing in capture.

Gender: Male
Ability: Tangled Feet
Personality: This Pokemon is usually quiet, peaceful, and cheerful. He loves to sing, and mimic the last few words everyone says. However, this Pokemon does not fancy himself a fighter, and would prefer to run and hide when faced with confrontation. However, if pushed far enough, or backed into a corner, he will fight his little heart out.

The Sceptile jumped out of the way, now wary of the Crunch. <YOU'RE attacking me because she ORDERED you to! That's exactly like the other humans! You're saying your trainer isn't like that, but you're in the act of just that! I didn't even have a chance to prepare. I was just minding my own business and you ATTACK me...how is that any different?>

The Shiny Grass Type crossed her arms, rushing in and striking at the Mightyena with an X-Scissor.

Ashter called Rue back, congratulating the Pokemon, but her eyes remained fixed on the fight with the shiny Sceptile. "Try and counter attack," she finally said, mouth refusing to yell. But Shasta heard, and bared his fangs. The riskiest play of the game, counter attacking, where Shasta would not dodge the attack but merely try to attack at the same time. The Mightyena lashed out with another Crunch as the X-Scissor slashed into her.

[KARP KARP!]

The Sceptile took the Crunch on the arm again, dropping to a knee this time. Apparently the battle had taken more of a toll on her than she wanted to admit. Using her hands, she pushed herself back to her feet, briefly showing a long scar on her left shoulder. From the looks of it, this obviously wasn't her first run-in with humans, by a long shot.

She didn't have much left in the tank, no, but thanks to Overgrow, her grass moves were now powered up. <You don't want to admit it, but your human is just like the others I've had to fight off since I was a young Treeko. One that just wants to collect and doesn't care about the Pokemon itself.> The only difference was, this time, the Grass type was losing.

Not willing to go down without a fight, she released a Leaf Storm in a last ditch attempt.

Shasta growled at the Sceptile's coarse definition of Ashter. The stubborn Mighyena would not tolerate this! <That may be what other trainers are like,> she muttered, hair raised, as she backed off to prepare another attack, <but my Ashter is a lot better than that! She's friends with us, not some cruel person! I dunno what humans you're talking about, but that's definitely not what mine is!>

Shasta had an idea now. As the Leaf Storm was releasing from the Sceptile, she dashed forward. The attack that would hit before the opponent, if the opponent was attacking. Sucker Punch. Rawr.

The Sceptile fell, but managed to give the Mightyena one more good scolding. <I don't care how she treats them after she catches them. It's how she treats the ones she wants to catch. And I don't want to go...> Then, the Shiny female stopped moving, unable to continue any longer.

Suddenly, there was a rustling in the bushes, and a little Treeko came running out into the open, a horrified look on his face. <Mommy!> he cried, throwing his little arms around the fainted Pokemon. Looking over, he spotted the human and Pokemon. <Why'd you hurt my mommy...?>

[Ferorodono]

Mightyena gave a small grin. <You don't know my human enough.>

Though neither Pokemon nor trainer were prepared for the Treeko. Ashter tightened her grip on Rue's Pokeball, realizing the levity of this situation. Shasta raised a brow but withheld a growl. Both stood there, motionless, staring at the poor youngin.

While the silence threatened to arise, a sudden PSSSSHHH! erupted from a certain pokeball. Ashter had unintentionally pressed the pokerelease button, and a disoriented Gothita emerged on the ground. She looked around, blinking out the sunsets, before fixing on the Treeko.

<AWWWWWWW!!! Rue squealed in delight at the young Pokemon. <SOOOO cute! He's like, my little brother or something! He could be my best friend, we could hang out together with Jackie, and and--

What..?>
