Looking sideways at Joel, Rosa raised her eyebrow at him. "What do you think they're talking about?" she asked rather quietly. For whatever reason, her stomach was churning a bit more than she would have liked at the moment. Shaking her head, Rosa snatched up another cookie and bit into it slowly. [/scrolly]

[KARP KARP!]

Joel shrugged, smiling. "I don't know, Rosa. Probably something important?" Standing up, he reached into a cabinet and pulled out a large cookie jar, setting it on the counter.

"Here Rosa, help me out. See all these cookies? Will you put 'em in this jar for me while I finish dinner?"

"Sure," she answered back nodding her head before hesitating a moment. Turning towards the sink first, Rosa hopped up on a stool and then turned on the water before washing off her hands. "Don't want anyone else getting my gerrrrms!" she said rather quickly before then returning to the counter and starting to put the cookies in the actual jar. "Hey Joel?" Rosa asked hesitating for a moment. [/scrolly]

[KARP KARP!]

Joel nodded, washing his own hands and collecting the cups from the cocoa. Quickly, he thoroughly washed out the glasses, putting them away. Then, pulling a wooden spoon from a drawer--not the one he used to smack people, he began to stir the spaghetti sauce, letting it simmer while he took the noodles off of the stove and drained them.

Then, he began to add his own special mix of seasoning to the sauce. "Yes, dear?" he replied to Rosa, whistling lightly as he stirred.

"Where did you learn to cook?" she asked deciding to change the question at the last moment as a different thought came to mind and seemed more pressing for the moment at least. [/scrolly]

Joel gave a chuckle, looking at Rosa as he cut off the Spaghetti sauce. "Well, I was born to a rich family, but I still wanted to work. So my family cook taught me from an early age. When I was eighteen, he introduced me to your family's cook at the time, who was planning to retire. He taught me the rest of what I know, and when Felis was ten, that cook retired, and I became the new Rossi family chef."

Taking a bit, she chewed and swallowed before answering back. "Ah! Can you teach me how to cook different stuff?" she asked with a huge grin. It'd be fun to learn how to cook, and then maybe she could make cookies and sweets for when Kitty came over to play or something~! [/scrolly]

"Rosa, deary. Cookies go in the jar, not in your mouth. Dinner's ready," he said in a sort of teasing tone.

"I'll be glad to. But even if you become a better cook than me, I'm still cooking for you and your friends~" This, he meant teasingly, and he tuned around and smiled at the girl.

"We should have dessert for dinner and then dinner for dessert," she answered back in a matter of fact tone. At the other comment from Joel, Rosa just grinned. "I bet Kitty would love Slowpoke candy and cookies," the young blonde nodded her head and curls at this. [/scrolly]

"Me too!" Joel said with a laugh. "I don't think Felis would agree with that though." The chef finished what he was doing, then turned to stand beside her, helping to finish putting the cookies in the jar. "Not to brag, but I haven't met a soul who doesn't. Let me know when you expect her over, and I'll have a nice fresh batch of aaaallllll your favorites." The chef smiled, patting Rosa's head gently.

Sweet! "Really?" she asked finding herself standing on her tip toes for no real reason as she looked at Joel. "That would be great!" she beamed a moment before turning and setting a few of the cookies into the jar again. "I met Kitty at the Spring Festival; we dressed up like princesses and played outside," she grinned thinking about it. "Have you ever been to one of the festivals?" she asked looking sideways a moment. [/scrolly]

Joel smiled, continuing to help Rosa. Arceus, that girl had grown so much since he left two years ago. It seemed like only yesterday, a ten-year old Felis was helping him in the kitchen.

"That sounds nice, Joel said with a smile. "I can't say that I have. Festivals aren't usually something I go to. My place is in the kitchen."

Then, the chef smiled at an old memory as his eyes brightened. "You know...Felis was your age when I started teaching him." Then, he did something he rarely ever did. The man took off his chef hat, then placed it on Rosa's head.

Rosa had been about to ask for the conformation on the chef's words, yet when he set the hat on her head, she stopped a moment and simply beamed at Joel. "Teach me too teach me too!" she answered back suddenly very excited as the thought of one day beinga chef too came to mind. Well that was just one more thing she would add to her list of dreams! She'd do everything! [/scrolly]

Joel smiled, adjusting the hat on her head for her, though it was a little big on her. The man looked around, seeing what else there was to do.

"Well, all that's left to do is go get everyone. Or you can help me feed the chickens," he said, looking at the girl.

She knew very well what animals were, and so it wasn't so much a question about that.... Simply enough, she had yet to see Joel's chickens and didn't have memories of ever seeing them as far as she could think back, and because of this, she found herself both a mix of surprised and confused. "Chickens?" she finally questioned. [/scrolly]

Joel gave a nod, smiling. "I haven't had them long; Felis let me get some when I came back to work for you again. There's just something so much better about a fresh egg. I actually used fresh eggs in the cookies. Come, I'll show you the chickens~"

Joel held out his hand to Rosa. Meanwhile, a sleepy Slowpoke looked at the pair and yawned.

Joel smiled, holding her hand and leading her out back, where there was a small fenced-in area, with a hen-house in the center of it. He opened the door, and five hens of assorted colors were scattered about, minding their own business. Reaching for a small sack on his belt, he handed it to Rosa.

"Just grab a handful, then scatter it on the ground, the chickens'll take care of the rest," he replied.

Ohhh~ They were kinda cute :'3. Scattering the seed as she had been instructed to, Rosa giggled a bit and spun her form around as she put down the seed. "There you go chickies! Yummy... ._. seed... " Rosa stopped a momenta s a thought came to her. "Hey Joel... why do chickens eat seed when ... we don't." she asked after a moment. [/scrolly]

Joel chuckled. "Everything has a different diet; they eat different things. It keeps the world in balance. Which is why we eat pasta, and steak, and cookies while chickens eat seed and worms. Keeps everything all balanced and in order." The chef flashed a smile. "Maybe in a few days or so we'll have some eggs to pick up."
