He knew a bit of Era from what he had happened to get from passing people, but most of it seemed bias in one form or another or it didn't make too much sense. "Ah so all hell broke lose then," he answered back thinking back a good number of years to Usara's revolution. Heh, that history lesson would come about at another time. Western Waters... and a lake.. and it seemed that there were quite a lot of cities. Oh right the map! Indi quickly fished it out and unrolled it looking over the map for a moment. "Wow there are a lot of places..." he mumbled to himself for a moment before looking up at Ruka. "That'd be interesting. I'd just been wandering around mostly, lately. It'd be cool to actually have a full aim," he laughed a moment. Suddenly feeling a bite on his line, Indi quickly reacted and began to tug up and real in whatever it was. A rather sassy looking Magikarp broke out of the water finally and flung herself up into the air only to quite literally smack Indi in the face with her tail and dive back down into the water. It had all happened so fast that all Indi could do was stand there dumbstruck for a few seconds. His poor cigarette, drenched with water now, was more or less sagging at his lips as he stood there. "....The heck?" was the question that was asked before Indi found himself looking over the side confused. [/scrolly]

"Yeah, that's exactly it." Leaning in a little to look at the map herself, she grinned softly at his mumbled comment. There were definitely a lot of places in the Western Waters, not to mention across Era as a whole. His response to her offer dimmed the grin into a warm smile. "I don't have a plan for where to go after that just yet, but you can come along with me for as long as you like. I have to return to Orion City fairly often, though. I live with my grandparents to make sure they don't get hurt. My mother's a worry-wart," she explained. Gasping when the Magikarp broke the water, she leaned back away. Kira and Shade were immediately both on the offensive regardless of the fact it was just a Magikarp... but watching the scene, all three just sort of blinked in shock. The brief bout of silence from Indi started to make the woman wonder if he had gotten a concussion or something, but upon hearing his baffled question, she couldn't stop herself from emitting a quiet, strained giggle-snort of sorts. "S-sorry, but..." Unable to contain it, she started to giggle outright, her hand to her mouth to try and keep it back, to no avail. Kira started snickering as a result, but Shade just went back to sitting. [/scrolly]

"I guess the fish wasn't happy I caught it," he laughed a bit more before the now dead end of his cigarette spring=boarded off his lip and made for a swan dive towards the water-- only to hit the dock an inch away. Indi, meanwhile, only continued to laugh and finally caught himself again. Shaking his head and pressing one hand to his side, Indi slowly cooled and shook his head. "That was one hell of a huge fish though," he said after a moment slowly looking back towards the water where the Magikarp had rushed off to again. [/scrolly]

Ruka was quite glad he wasn't upset with her for laughing at him and even made it so she was laughing with him. It certainly made her feel better about the situation. As he calmed himself down, she started to relax as well. Gazing down at the water herself, she nodded in agreement. "It was a Magikarp, I think. Big, bulky, and... generally assumed to not be very bright. When they evolve, though..." She left the comment hanging, shaking her head along with it. That was an evolution that always baffled her. It was pretty incredible, of course, but from a sweetly dumb orange fish to a vicious blue sea serpent was just... a very odd process to her. "I hope it doesn't go tell it's friends," she mumbled almost absent-mindedly. To have a swarm of Magikarp or even some Gyarados come to the surface to teach them a lesson did not sound very pleasant to her. "I'm already starting to get impatient," she added with a faint little laugh at herself. "I guess fishing isn't really my thing, huh?" [/scrolly]

A Magikarp... When she mentioned evolving, Indi both realized that it was a pokemon as well as the fact that it changed into something....but what? "What do they do when they evolve?" he asked turning his head to one side rather questioningly. At the comment on telling its friends, Indi had to fight off the urge to physically flinch. That didn't sound too good.... having a bunch of fish jumping up from the sea and smacking him... As Ruka spoke about getting impatient, Indi found himself grinning a little. "I was up until the fish decided to use my face for punching practice..." he answered back shaking his head. "Ya know... I think I'm gonna wander around Era a bit more..." Indi said slowly as he looked sideways at Ruka. "I wanna see more of it... figure it out and whatnot.." It was far from a new clock that he liked to take apart and put back together again, but still.... [/scrolly]

They evolve into something called Gyarados. Though there are, of course, exceptions, the majority of them are very angry Pokemon and have been known to cause havoc. They're... quite a bit larger than Magikarp, too," Ruka explained. That being said, Magikarp were actually pretty big for a fish... At least by regular animal-fish standards. At his following comment, she giggled faintly. That was part of what had made her more impatient, actually. He'd caught something, even if it hadn't really been caught so much as... annoyed, but still! When he mentioned wandering around Era, she got a bit worried at first. Did that mean he wanted to leave now? He'd said he was going to wander, so did that mean he didn't want her to go with him? Or that he wasn't even going to go to Orion City with her like they talked about? After a few moments of inwardly panicking, Shade dragged her out of it by reaching out to tap on her shoulder. She turned her attention to him and, after a few moments of sorting out the last few moments' activities, she realized how silly she was being. Her attention quickly shifted back to Indi. "Ah! Er, sorry, I... got a little lost in thought. I... I think that sounds like a great idea! I'd even go with you if I could, but... I have to keep going back to Orion City at least every two weeks to check in. I wouldn't want to cause any annoyances during the travels. I'm sure it would be much more fun to do it alone, anyway. The freedom to make decisions without worrying about someone else seems nice," she concluded, if a bit lamely. [/scrolly]

That inquisitive part of himself wanted to know more, but he ended up mentally deciding he would look into it himself, sooner or later. Ruka's expression at his mention of what he wanted to do caused Indi to reflect confusion. What was wrong? As Ruka spoke, Indi understood. A soft smile came to his face, and he turned his head to one side. "I'm sorry.. I didn't mean to make you uncomfortable..." he stated after a moment. Though that entire statement was somewhat awkward when Indi thought about it, it was the first words that had come to mind, and he wasn't one to take back his own statements. "I wouldn't mind hangin' around this area for a while if you did want to travel with me a bit," he grinned offering somewhat of a smirk back. In reality, he could probably get as much information by staying around one area as he could traveling, and though he wouldn't admit this to anyone right off, knowing where he was was a lot better than not knowing where he was. "We could check out all the places in the west and whatnot," he stated as his voice slowly grew a bit more excited at this thought. Living outside of the labs was certainly different but damn exciting.   [/scrolly]

"No need to apologize, really. It was more just... me being weird. T-travelling together sounds kind of nice, though! If you want to, then I would certainly love to accompany you." He was a nice guy and she felt a little... guilty for having thought too far into the situation as she had moments before. Quickly ignoring those feelings as it was just repeating the whole stupid situation over again, she just smiled brightly and squeaked in surprise when she got a tug on her line. The rod was almost pulled from her grasp, even, but again Shade saved the day by snatching part of it with an apparent sigh being emitted from him. Such an absent-minded woman... Surprised, she took a moment to recover before reeling in the tiny fish. An animal, not a Pokemon, and even smaller than Ruka's hand. Giggling lightly at it, she carefully removed it from her hook and tossed it back. The Golett was a little confused... how could such a small thing even threaten to tug such a large implement from his trainer's fingers? ... Ah, well... She baited the hook again and tossed it back out, smiling over at Indi again a bit more calmly.[/scrolly]

She was a little weird? Well he was a little weird, and the world was a little weird. He had yet to find anyone that was completely normal, and his hypothesis that normal people didn't actually exist was slowly coming to the front of his mind. Where people got normal from he would never know, but then again he was a scientist not an English teacher or a linguistics teacher. That would have been a scary sight... and suddenly Indi had the image of himself in front of a class teaching, and for a brief moment, something a little less than horrified came to mind. I better not get old enough to feel the compulsion to teach... he thought dryly to himself before slowly chuckling again. It was during this time that he suddenly realized that Ruka had fished something. Looking at it surprised, he flashed a sudden grin. "Oh hey a real fish," he stated the obvious before blinking at his own words and chuckling a bit again. "Well like... not a fish pokemon, I guess," he hummed briefly after. "But yeah... that sounds like a plan!" he said suddenly excited once again. It would be fun to have a traveling buddy... especially since travel was still relatively new to him. It was silly to think that he had never really wanted to even leave the labs before, but his world- his home- was different from this country, heh.... Suddenly feeling a droplet of water hit the very middle of his skull, Indi blinked and looked up. Rain...   [/scrolly]
