Enjoying the cold (Open/Mod)

[[happens before Patching Up, Yuki does not have Boreas the Cryogonal yet but she does have Hades the Gengar. ]]

Everywhere but the north was too hot in the summer. It wasn't as bad as some regions, but it was still more than she liked. Now, she stood in the cool evening air, and while it wasn't as cold as it could have been, it was definitely better than the Capital where she'd been for so long.

She turned and thanked Aphrodite for Teleporting her her--there was no way she could have walked all this way with what little supplies she had--and released her other Pokemon. Persephone, Circe, and Hades materialized behind her, all happy to be let out of their ball for one reason or another.

Yukiko greeted them each, then started down the street, not planning for anything but a pleasant walk with her Pokemon, but expecting that something would interfere--it always does. Oh, well, Persephone really needed to let out her frustration--see, just now, she was lashing out at Hades for his adoring gestures, and normally she didn't mind them, occasionally actually liking them, it seemed. She clearly needed to let out some steam...

Loopy finally stopped walking and found herself looking around. Uh-oh.... Where did Gwen go? Taking a few steps and continuing to walk around, Loopy started to quite literally tear up. A block or so away from Loopy, Gwen walked with a rather quick stride carrying several bags of different groceries in both of her hands. She had to get back to the manor and fast. Lord Arceus she didn't even know WHY Glacial village didn't have the spices she needed. It was just so inconvenient. Possibly becuase her mind was elsewhere, Gwen didn't even realize her small Smoochum wasn't by her side. [/scrolly]

Yukiko turned a corner, stopping and blinking when she saw a small Pokemon sitting by the edge of the street in front of her, under the street lamp that had just flickered on. She hurried forward to the Smoochum, crouching down and saying "Shh, sh, it's okay, dear, don't cry."

Meanwhile, her Pokemon caught up behind her, curious about the Pokemon as well. Yukiko looked up and behind her at Aphrodite, and asked, "Please see if you can figure out why she's so upset?"

The Gardevoir knealt down as well, using both Pokespeech and psychic pulses to talk to the poor dear.

Choking out a few words, she managed to make at least a little sense. <I-I-I can't find Momma ;_; She was right h-h-h-here and I and I and I - I - I....> That was as far as it got for logic seeing as after that, the Smoochum simply continued to weep. Meanwhile, 'Momma' in the form of Gwendoline had finally stopped a moment down the street she had started down. "So what'cha think Lop-......py?" the teal haired woman stopped a moment now looking around and finding her heart jump up into her throat. Where was she? She was just here wasn't she? She'd been keeping up right? Panic instilled for a good half second before Gwen managed to kill it. She'd just back track. Yes, yes of course. Turning and starting to walk back, she began to look around for the Smoochum. [/scrolly]

Aphrodite communicated the general idea to Yukiko, who sweatdropped. Well, that was some information, and narrowed down things such as "I lost my toy," but still wasn't much to go on.

"Er, could you maybe try to see if Mama is human or Pokemon, at least? Yukiko figured it was likely to be Pokemon considering how up north they were, but then again Smoochum was likely a popular Pokemon for girls fond of pink, and likely other purposes too, being humanoid and all.

Nodding, the Gardevoir tried to ask just one more thing of Loopy, trying her best not to be too forceful--granted, this wasn't terribly hard as Aphrodite was very timid in the first place and found it much more difficult to be pushy than to just stand by.

However, after a moment, she formed a mental image of Gwen in her mind and did her best to transmit it to Aphrodite though just a tad skittish in nature given she was so young. Meanwhile, Gwen was now turning the corner and stopped as she caught sight of her little pink darling in the distance. Upon seeing the woman next, Gwen fought down the urge to yell. If it had been a man, she probably would have whipped out a gun in an instant. However, for now, she'd keep herself in line. Walking faster down the street now, she was coming up fast and probably at least getting into ear shot. However, Loopy didn't notice just yet. [/scrolly]

Aphrodite nodded, and looked to Yukiko. 'The image wasn't clear at all, but it's almost certainly a human. Dark skin, and since she's 'momma,' I'm guessing female. I can't tell you much m--oh geez I think that's her and I can feel her anger from here YUKI WE SHOULD BACK AWAY'

Yukiko nodded as well at the information she was getting, until her Gardevoir's mind-voice started to ring of urgency. The human looked behind her and saw the 'momma' but didn't really react quickly enough for Aph, who had already stood up as she was talking to Yukiko and now pulled her away. Persephone and Hades were nearby, the Gengar hitting on the Sneasal as usual, with the latter (as usual) denying his advances and instead was sharpening her claws. Circe, the Shuppet, was just floating about. Aphrodite didn't think any of this looked good if it came to a confrontation, so she pressed the button for each of the others' Pokeballs while still attached to Yuki's belt and withdrew them.

Yuki blinked as all this happened, finding herself standing facing the woman who did look rather--well, her expression was hard to read, but it certainly wasn't happy--with her Pokemon suddenly withdrawn (other than Aphrodite) and figured it polite to wave and greet the woman. "Uh, hello there miss! Is this your Smoochum? We saw it, and it was crying, so we were trying to determine how to find you since she said she lost her, uh, 'Momma,' and ..." That didn't sound suspicious at all...

However, by that time, Loopy finally looked up. MOMMA! Suddenly standing up and all but somehow managing to fly into Gwen's arms, the Smoochum clung to her trainer and giggled sweetly. "My baby!" was the answer to this, and in another moment, Gwen's demeanor had completely lightened. "Ah my poor little Loop," Gwen sighed petting the Smoochum before looking at Yukiko and nodding in understanding. "I'ah swear. One minute, she 'as with me, and dah next she wasn't," she frowned before half smiling and sighing. "M' name's Gwen by the way," she said as the thought of introductions finally came to mind. Oh, splended! She didn't seem angry anymore. Both Yukiko and her Gardy let out a mental sigh.

"I--completely understand that," Yukiko replied, thinking on the early days when Persephone hadn't quite learned yet that not staying close meant things being thrown and other abuse... "Oh, and I'm Yukiko. Pleasure to meet you, Gwen." Oh, good, she was falling into formality, that was always nice when she could do that.

"Don't take it as a--challenge of some sort, but I'm going to let my other Pokemon out now. I withdrew them so it didn't look as if I was... looking for a fight, I suppose? But I do prefer to have them out, so..." Without waiting for a response, Yukiko let out her Pokemon: first Circe, then Persephone, then Hades.

"Ah yeah sure," she answered back rather easily continuing to coddle her Smoochum who was being torn away from her day dreaming world but going willingly in this case. After a moment, Gwen eyed the pokemon that had been released. Oh hey, a Sneasel... Was the female ear-leaf thing smaller than the males? Gwen couldn't quite remember. "Ah 'ey, I have a Weavile kinda pretty just like yah... though ah guess I shouldn't call 'em pretty but yeah," she chuckled a bit to herself. [/scrolly]

Persephone was somewhat indignant about this. <'I am pretty, don't you go calling me otherwise.'> Of course, this was in Pokéspeech, so the offending party likely couldn't understand her. She looked as annoyed as she was, though, with crossed arms and a scowl, and her voice was pretty clearly irritated.

Yukiko blinked. Normally Persy wasn't the sort to get angry over something like that. Maybe she'd just been looking for something to be angry at? Mentally shrugging, she replied to Gwen, "I think they are all fetching creatures, myself... Though of course, I do like my Persephone best" She petted Persephone's head and smiled down at her for a moment, making the Sneasel smile and look up at Yuki--though she kept her arms crossed. Yukiko opened her mouth to continue, then realized she had nothing to say. She closed her mouth, wondering if she should just leave now.

Raising her eyebrow a tad confused as to why the Sneasel was angry, she finally looked up at Yukiko instead as the woman talked. Grinning a little, she nodded her head. "Can respe't that," she answered back nodding her head a bit as the conversation continued and she slightly forgot that she needed to get back to the manor soon. Tray would understand wouldn't he? Of course. "Oh ya wanna see mah baby?" she asked after a moment already fishing out another pokeball. This actually brought a rather startled look to Loopy's face. D: Wut? But... No she was Momma's baby! o3o Oh wait... Everyone was Momma's right? Right :U Now back to wonderland...mhm.... After a moment, Gwen released a Weavile, solid black in color save for his claws and gem. Nails blinked and stood tall for a brief moment before relaxing ever so slightly. Looking over towards Yuki and her pokemon, he turned his head slightly to one side. Who was...No who were these people? "Nailzykins say 'llo," Gwen prodded causing Nails to jump just a little before offering something of a cool smile and waving a hand. [/scrolly]

"All right," was all Yukiko managed to say before Gwen released her Pokemon.

Oh, s/he was melanistic! Yukiko recalled from her books that that was possible, but hadn't actually seen any up close before. She was momentarily conflicted in her desire to study him or her, and the feeling that said action(s?) would be immoral as Pokemon were no less than humans and any/everyone would think that studying a person in said way was terrible.

These were just vague feelings, though, and took only a moment or so to pass through Yukiko's head; outwardly, she smiled and waved at the Weavile and said, "Hello there, uh.. Nailz." While normally she would greet anyone as the full name given to her, she didn't feel as if it would be polite to address him/her--wait those ears were fairly long, okay so it's probably a male. Anyway, Yukiko felt it wouldn't be a great idea to call him "nailzykins", as that seemed a personal nickname rather than anything else.

"I suppose I should introduce my companions as well. Did I already say this was Persephone? I think I did..." Yukiko absentmindedly patted her Sneasel again. "And this is Aphrodite," she nodded towards the Gardevoir, "Circe is the Shuppet hanging about som--ah, there she is. Finally, Hades is--" She looked around and didn't see her newest Pokemon, until she noticed a pair of eyes underneath her and Persephone. "Hades come out please." The Gengar faded out of the shadows and next to Persephone.

"Sorry if that was a bit extensive, but since you formally introduced, er, Nailz, I thought I ought to do to the same for all present."

"His full name's Rushnails, but I tend to call 'im sweeter things," she grinned a little causing the Weavile to blink a moment and rub the back of his head a tad sheepishly. Looking at the pokemon as they were introdued, Gwen did her best to remember the names of each of them. "Ah y'r going with the..." she stopped a moment placing a hand on her chin and trying to remember what the names were from. "Greek gods, hm?" she finally settled after a moment. O.O OH SWEET MOTHER OF ARCEUS WHAT WAS THAT?? Loopy squirmed a little startled by Hades to say the very least of it. "'S wrong hon?" Gwen asked looking down as Loopy began to try and climg up her shoulder or burrow into it (it was a tad hard to tell which, in truth). Nails was actually rather interested in the ghost and found himself drawing closer and trying to poke at Hades with one of his claws. It was far from an attack but more of just a ... test to see if he was really there or not. Of course he had seen other ghost pokemon, yet that one had come out of...well someplace but yeah.... That clarification was definitely nice. "Rushnails it is," she had time to comment before Gwen responded; after that, she answered, "Yes! Er. Yes. I--I am not sure how you're the first I've met to take note of that... but yes, that is the theme."

Trainer and Pokemon remained rather oblivious to the cause of the Smoochum's distress. While Yukiko at least noticed and wanted to say something--offer to help maybe?--she didn't, because honestly she had no idea how to and as Loopy's trainer Gwen likely knew how to handle such things better.

Aphrodite was on the opposite side of Yuki as the two ghosts and Persephone, and stepped even further away as the Weavile approached. She wasn't the most comfortable around her own teammates due to their typing, but it was tolerable; unknown Ghost or especially Dark types she was very afraid of indeed.

Hades had been trying to get Persephone's attention and woo her as he almost always did, and she ignored him as usual; he was distracted, though, as Nails poked him. Turning, he poked the Weavile back.

Thankfully this, and the fact that the large scary creature wasn't looking directly at her as far as she could tell, settled Loopy well enough, and somewhere in her mind, she began to day dream what it was like to be aghost and be able to faze through walls and o3o stuff like that yeah.... Gwen beamed a bit too proudly at the conformation and nodded her head. "Thoughtso," he grinned mixing her two words. "I name most of 'em after parts...nails, paws, Loopeh's full name is Lipy-Loopy seein' as Smoochum'r known for sensitive lips." she laughed a little at her own thoughts. Rushnails was oddly surprised that he could in fact poke the ghost, yet as he was poked back something flickered in his eye. >8U POKE WARRRRRRRRRRRR!!!!!!!! Poking back, he suddenly man-frolicked away rather quickly but stopped to see if Hades would follow. [/scrolly]

Yukiko nodded, commenting "Ah, that makes sense! Theme-naming is nice, for a few reasons I must say. I--oh Hades what are you doing."

She sounded almost, but not quite, annoyed and also somewhat curious as to why her Gengar was pursuing the Weavile--neither Pokemon seemed angry, and Hades' grin didn't look any more evil than usual. He disregarded Yuki, less because he was intentionally being disobedient and more because he was intent on catching up to the faster Pokemon without his shadow-sneaking aid (they were under a streetlamp because this narrator has been imagining that for a while but has just realized that it was probably never stated but it's being stated now :U.)

Persephone seemed rather relieved to have him not pester her anymore, though also somewhat bored as she was simply watching the pair and their poke war. Aphrodite stepped back, having nothing to add to this conversation and feeling awkward being next to Yukiko as if she were in fact a part of it.

Circe hovered around, slower and rather full from the amount of fear and confusion Yukiko had put out earlier. She floated toward Aphrodite for a moment, who batted the little ghost away. She never really would become terribly comfortable around the types she was weak against, though at least she could sense what ghosts were thinking (if not always where they were.)

Stopping suddenly and making to poke the Gengar even if he got poked in the process, the Weavile laughed a little. Gwen turned her head towards the Weavile and Gengar with a rather obscure expression for a few seconds before she suddenly smirked and looked back at Yukiko. "Ah dat's just Nails... Thinks he can win a pokin' war with 'nyone," she grinned shaking her head a bit. "Least teh Gengar's got a sense of humor.... Ah yeah..hm...."" she stopped to consider if she could spare a few minutes or maybe an extra hour away from the manor. She needed to start dinner in a bit, but she could always just turn up the temperature and hm... That'd work. "Oh, hope I'mmah not holdin' ya up for anything." Loopy was pulled from her day dreaming world once again and blinked a moment as her eyes focused in on Aphrodite for a second or two. .....Oh right! Raising both hands, she made a few gestures before actually beginning to speak. <Oh ya! You helped me find Momma! Thanks!> she grinned ear to ear. [/scrolly]
