Garci had followed Soleh throughout Era. Since the embarkation of their journey, he had been holding close, happy with the fact that she'd let him tag along. Since they left the spa, he started to wear his usual clothing, the sweatervest, his slacks, and those fancy, reflective dress shoes. The only exception was a small woolen jacket to warm him up in the approaching, cooler fall.
As they had been wandering through the forest, Garci had his oversized Klinklang, Thanos, as his companion. The set of gears was churning along quickly and speedily, able to more than keep up the pace with his trainer. Today had a dense, somewhat irritating fog, and Thanos's movements managed to remove some of the fog in the perimeter.
It was the early morning, possibly around 6 AM, and he had been leaning onto Soleh in order to stay still and not collapse from fatigue. His sleep cycle was never quite in order, and it didn't help that they were starting to walk so soon. Thanos remained at their side, though in amiable spirits, slightly irritated by the highly dense fog preventing him from seeing any bird Pokemon that may have been in the air at the time. Garci continued to trudge along, clung to her arm. He tiredly moaned out, "How long do we get to move until we can take a br-" There were lights in the distance. Anyone, really, could see them, as Thanos was able to point out and confirm, merely by voice. "Klink. Klang."
Garci started to tug at Soleh's arm slowly. "Soleh, you see that, right? I think there's a town or a camp somewhere in that way!" He excitedly pointed in the direction of a lighted city, the light only somewhat obscured by the trees and the fog. "We need to see what's going on over there!" His voice started to jolt with an unexpected. The little trek they had since Garci had woken up was starting to kill him, and seeing traces of civilization was always welcome.

I think that statue over there is a statement on modern life. Possibly the statement is "Well shit."

The sun was low in the sky, having risen not too long ago, ans Soleh rose with the sun when on the move. Making the most of daylight, and all that, hm? She wasn't really fond of the fog, though, and while she was determined to continue moving forward--she did hate being stuck someplace when she hadn't planned on it--she was more concerned with not tripping on exposed tree roots than looking around her, so she hadn't actually noticed the city before Garci said anything. Looking up, though, she blinked and wondered how she'd missed it. Looking over at Bonbon and Quentin, her Flareon and Mienfoo respectively--and, more importantly, the packs of camping supplies they were helping to carry--she said, "Yeah, stoppin' sounds good! Could definitely do with some extra foodstuffs if nothin' else. 'N' you c'n get all reacquainted with civ'lization, hey?" He hadn't really seemed to enjoy the camping, and she felt a little bad for bringing him along despite that. So they found the path to the city and at some point later, were there. "First thing we should do is get a place to stay I think. Or at least a place where I can drop off all this campin' stuff. What'cha think?"

Garci nodded in agreement at her little saying about civilization, absolutely serious about returning to a place with real, warm, soft beds. While it appeared he didn't mind the camping, his inexperience with being out in the wild and resting there spooked him slightly. Fearful, of, for example, bug Pokemon sneaking into a sleeping bag or a tent. While he had all the experience he needed with his Larvesta, it would already be too much for him. It seemed, though, that the only real luggage he carried with him was his one remaining suitcase, containing his remaining clothes and toiletries, and a single wallet decorated with a large Sableye gem nestled in one of the case's pockets.
"Of course, Soleh. I'd be okay with an inn or a campsite." His eyes darted to the side for a moment. "You know I'd prefer an inn, but I'll let you decide." The convenience shone through as Garci looked around, easily spotting a hotel a short distance away. Thanos had been following behind him closely, as he looked around the architecture of the area. This was most likely once a grand forest, now cut down so that humans could make their homes. He had thought on and on about how this city may be destroyed to eventually form a new one, just as how a forest, essentially a city for Pokemon, was somewhat leveled to make one for humans.
Garci pointed behind him at the hotel, indicating to it for Soleh. "Well, the foremost place to rest for the city is here, but if you can find a campground, I'd be alright with setting up there, too. .. Er, as I said before, of course." He realized that it would be a little silly, bringing it up again. "Once we've established where to stay for a few nights or so, we should probably look around town for a grocery store, like you suggested. Maybe pick up anything else that the stores have in supply, of course." He smiled as he said the next sentence, happy that he could sound as though he would be of a big help to her in this case, "I can spot you as much cash as you need, of course!"

"Aren't you just darlin'," Soleh said to Garci, smiling all the while. "I c'n prob'ly get a decent hotel room and some food with what all I've got left, but I am a bit low after staying at the springs 'n' all... But if'n you're sure y'don't mind, I'd certainly not turn down gettin' a bit nicer food th'n I would on m'own." In a moment, she blinked, and started talking again--if Garci had been trying to say something after her initial bit, she didn't notice and just talked right over him (of course if he didn't then whatever)--"Wait, you pointed--so we already passed it whenever did that happen--" She turned around, motioned for her Pokemon to do the same, and headed towards what looked like it was indeed the inn, and how in the world did she miss that before.
It must have been the fog. Never mind the fact that it was essentially nonexistant here it was the fog all right.

He looked at her confusedly as a response to her quick confusion. "Er.. yes, there were a few lights and signs we passed indicating to the inn. It shouldn't be too far from where we are." He gestured to Thanos, who went to his side and faced the hotel. "Anyway, yes. I've got quite a large amount of money still on me," With an almost bitter respite, he continued. "Even if it is a former family, don't forget that you're still traveling with the son of a Hoenn crime family." Whether the smile was a facade, some sort of way to remind her of their past conversation, or to offer it as a sort of joke.
Shaking off the short, somber moment he had, he started excitedly toward the inn. "Come on, Soleh. I've been waiting to see an accommodating room for some time now. The bedroll is hardly doing it for me anymore," he jested. It was true, though - camping was something he was hardly at all accustomed to. Before this point, he always managed to reach some sort of town or village and buy some room, anything to keep himself away from using that dreaded, cumbersome bedroll he inexplicably managed to pack into his suitcase. Now that they were traveling so much longer distances, the boy was hardly hardy enough to keep up precisely at Soleh's pace.
On his way, he zipped open a pocket in the bag and yanked out his wallet. It had that same, hauntingly nostalgic Sableye gem on it. Clutching it in his hand, he opened it up to see what money he had on his person. He was, well, visibly distraught by what he saw, to say the least. "I.." His expression took on a somewhat droopier one. Thanos stopped in his tracks, curious as to what Garci might be so offended by.
