Or at least he appeared to be a woman, especially considering the purple plaid skirt with a pair of spandex pants beneath them. Those were accompanied by leather boots, a purple long-sleeve shirt with belled sleeves, and a black vest. Jemma seemed quite interested in almost every shop he passed, but when he came across one that was selling all natural products, he had to go in. These ranged from hemp jewelry to organic foods. He seemed most interested in the toiletries: shampoo, conditioner, soap, and even some of the other hair products, such as scrunchies. Even some of his Pokemon were loose, looking around interestedly. Devi, an Indigo Nincada, seemed the most interested. She was looking mostly at the plants and such, however.
His Budew was waddling back and forth between him and the jewelry, seeming both interested and bored simultaneously. Both keeping an eye on her and looking around herself was Stephanie, his Jigglypuff. Jemma himself couldn't seem to decide what he wanted as he continued to read information on available options. He didn't seem to be getting very far, though, and didn't seem interested in having the employee help him. Every time she offered, he just said he was looking.[/scrolly] |

[ Delilah ] Browsing through the plants of this same shop was another woman, heavyset with somewhat dark skin and darker brown hair, though bright pink streaks ran through the latter. She was feeling a little bit frilly today for no reason in particular, with a low-v-cut dark teal shirt etched with black and gold floral/vine-type patterns, form-fitting but not too tight around the middle, and a long somewhat flowing black skirt that fell just short of her ankles. Gold-trimmed black sandal heels put her around 5'6" for now. A simple necklace chaining polished black river stones hung around her neck, while an untransformed Ditto hung over her shoulder. "He" had no need to hide and she'd no need for protection, here, so just being himself was proving a nice change of pace- not that he'd want to get used to it. She was, for the moment, completely absorbed in the various flora here, meticulously checking leaf after leaf of this sort of herb and petal after blossom of that type of flower, debating not only which specimens looked best but what and how much she even wanted to buy. She kept quite a garden on her balcony back at her Evergreen apartment, especially impressive given its fairly cramped location, filled with things both for natural remedies and that just looked or smelled nice. As such, she was always certain to keep an eye out for anything that may make a nice addition, but at the same time she wasn't sure how much she wanted to carry with her until she headed back home. She might buy a few things to ask the shopkeeper to hold for her until just as she was heading out of town, but even then the journey back could-- "Ah-" Delilah felt her ankle brush a touch too hard against something, making her quickly recoil as she looked down. "Sorry-oh?" She blinked a bit in surprise at the Nincada's unusual coloration. "Now aren't you interesting..." she mused quietly to herself. She wasn't especially fond of bugs, but it seemed working with Faith had caused her to develop a certain eye for unique ones. Not that she was looking for Faith's sake or anything, of course! Of course, the Nincada and Ditto were not the only Pokemon in the shop, either. Aside from her own Shiny Cherubi, who was bouncing around completely overwhelmed and doing her best to take in everything the shop had to offer, and her Shiny Deerling, whose color scheme was similar to his trainer's due to the Winter Pendant hanging from his neck and who stood not far off from her studying some plants himself, it seemed a few others belonging to various customers (or maybe to the shopkeeper? she'd not paid much attention upon entering) were scampering around, too. These were only added to the Cherubi's list of things to investigate; next on said list was a Jigglypuff. <Hi hi hi HI there~!> Having sooo many potential new friends to talk to miiight have been making her just a little hyper. She also seemed thankful for the semi-complimenting comment the woman had made about her being 'interesting', but she was quite interested in the plants and went back to them rather quickly.
Stephanie blinked when the energetic Cherubi greeted her. <Hi. Um... what's up?> While she seemed willing to converse, she also seemed semi-awkward. This wasn't helped when the Budew quickly seemed to pout and even whined a bit. This quickly snapped Jemma out of his reading trance as he looked over. "Misty! What is it this time?" His question started a long, mostly incoherent babbling where the only words that might be made out by other Pokemon were things like 'me' and 'ignored'. Rather than understanding any of this, just looking at Stephanie and the Cherubi, Jemma could figure out that the Budew was complaining that she wasn't getting the most attention. Sighing, the 'girl' shook his head and looked around quickly before gesturing toward the Deerling. "Why don't you try talking to someone else, like that Deerling? Or, better yet, instead of starting to cry, see if you can't join the conversation with Stephanie?"
Said Jigglypuff, meanwhile, had a small bead of sweat creep down her cheek. <She's always like that,> she whispered in explanation to the Cherubi. While still pouting, Misty nodded slightly and ambled over to the suggested Deerling and unfurled her 'arms' to wave. She seemed slightly disappointed that she had to initiate contact, but smiled anyway. With a slight sigh from Jemma and Devi, the Nincada, the former spoke up to apologize. "I'm really sorry for that bit of commotion... If it happens again, I'll return her to her Pokeball," he promised, followed by a slightly horrified look overcoming the Budew's face. [/scrolly] |

[ Delilah ] Delilah had found herself watching her little Sheena- who she'd more recently taken up calling 'Pinkie Pie' for a number of ridiculous reasons- bounce around a bit, mostly to make sure that she wasn't looking to break anything anytime soon. As such, she'd ended up watching with quite a bit of amusement as the whole exchange unfolded. Though she was fairly certain the other woman's apology had been either to her Cherubi or possibly to the staff here at the shop, Lilah couldn't help but note it. Setting down the most recent herb she'd been looking over and making certain not to trip on the cute Nincada, she took a few steps toward the blonde to make herself more known if she wasn't already, but did not fully close the gap between them by any means. "Oh my," she cooed. "Are both these adorable babies yours then?" She looked down to the trio of Pokemon now not far from her feet and smiled. She was never just huge on collecting Grass-types, but they were definitely her favorite as far as typing went, even if Normal really had more of her favorite species; and absolutely anything cute and pink was always certain to earn her adoration. She knew if the blonde had many Pokemon, these could be the only two that fit her own scheme, but they were still the only two of hers that to her knowledge Delilah knew (having not made the connection with the Nincada as of yet), and it would be just too much fun if very many of them did. <No problem at all!> Sheena chimed in the meantime. <The more the merrier, amirite!?> Giggling, she turned a bit to the Budew then, only to giggle a bit harder. <Oh look, look! Your limbs are just like mine!> Leaning back, she balanced herself between one 'leg' and the back of her rounded body, then raised the other leg/arm/nub as an offer to 'shake hands'. <Seeee?<3>[/blockquote]

"Yes, they are~ I have another Pokemon in here, too... Hm, Devi?" The Nincada quickly scuttled over to stand beside Delilah and waved up at her. "Ah, there she is. Yes, so that's Devi, the Jigglypuff is Stephanie, and the Budew is Misty." He giggled somewhat at this, apparently just now realizing they all ended with the same kind of sound.
"I take it that friendly little Cherubi is yours? I'm really very sorry about Misty. She just... acts like such a baby and not always in a good way." He smiled, turning his attention back to the Pokemon for a moment. Misty was still a bit pouty but she did seem to cheer up a bit when Sheena commented that they had the same kind of limbs. Not exactly, but it was pretty similar. She giggled, nodded, and shook the other Grass-type's limb. Everything seemed to be going well, so Stephanie stayed rather quiet. [/scrolly] |

[ Delilah ] Delilah blinked a bit, but then waved back at the Nincada when she saw her. "Well hello there again."At the comment on the Budew, she chuckled softly. "Oh, but she is a baby!" she exclaimed, probably much more amused by that claim than she should have been, considering the trainer had meant it to refer to her behavior but... Lilah called all cute Pokemon 'babies'... and Budew was literally considered a 'Baby'... and.. She giggled slightly more. Puns were fun~ "But yes, that's Sheena." She decided to spare the poor girl the full names for now. "And this is Cyn," she noted, bringing up a hand to lightly scratch the Ditto still draped on her shoulder. "..Hi there..." came Cyn's tiny breathy squeak, and he waved a little blob extension that served for the moment as an arm. "There's another.." she mumbled to herself, looking back. "Basil?" she called. Despite the spelling, it came out as a rather thick 'bah - seeil' rather than the herb written in the same way, though she couldn't deny the herb had influenced the decision. At his name, the Shiny Winter Deerling looked up and blinked, then pranced lightly over to her side; it wasn't anything prissy, really, just his natural gait. Lilah smiled and nodded at him, then returned her attention to the woman. "And this is Basil." She shifted her weight to one side and toed the ground a bit idly with the other foot; meanwhile, she continued to pet Cyn a bit. "I'm Delilah, by the way." All the while, when her attention was not on the Pokemon, she was mentally measuring up the semi-tall blonde (with a small question as usual in the back of her mind why she seemed to meet oh so very many blondes). She was pretty thin, but it seemed to fit her, for the most part. In a certain way, it also didn't, but she couldn't seem to place how or why. Lilah paid much closer attention to bone structure in others than most would ever consider for this very reason (she didn't hate all thin girls, after all; only those that 'clearly' would have looked better heavier, or who had a superiority complex about it), and she couldn't shake that there was something about hers, but eventually she just wrote it off as 'unique' for now. She'd postpone judgement on her for the moment, at least. [/blockquote]

The little brat just used it too much to her advantage. While the three Pokemon were introduced, he nodded softly to the name of the Cherubi, then gave a wave back to Cyn (somewhat surprised by the English), only to grin at the prance the Deerling gave. "They're all quite impressive. Ah, and I'm Jemma. Good to meet you," he offered and offered a hand to shake.
He didn't seem to notice that he was being sized up but, really, even if he did realize it he likely wouldn't care. All that was really going through his head during this moment was wondering if he should ask this woman what her opinion on bath products were. He didn't want to ask because he wasn't sure if he'd actually take her opinion to heart and didn't want to get that 'then why did you ask?' glare if he chose something different. He couldn't really go about looking while they were having a conversation either, though. Thankfully, Stephanie was quick to slip away when the two Grass-types seemed to be getting along and Jemma asked her to pick something while she talked to Delilah. The Jigglypuff seemed fine with this and started looking at and taking sniffs of different shampoos and soaps.
"So, do you come here often? I just found it today but it looks like they have a wonderful variety of all sorts of things I could use. Of course... I come here too often and Misty might actually get a make-shift necklace out of the deal," he commented with a light snicker. The little Budew was definitely spoiled and he knew that if she found something she liked enough, she would cry until she got it or give him the cold shoulder for weeks if she didn't. [/scrolly] |

[ Delilah ] Delilah couldn't help but take note of Jemma's comment to her Jigglypuff, but made no comment at the moment. When conversation picked back up, she smiled. She wasn't exactly certain what was meant by the 'make-shift' necklace, and briefly wondered if the Budew had a habit of using shiny scraps as accessories or something of the sort, but it wasn't something she really cared to pursue so much as the initial topic. "Not here exactly, per se- I actually live out in Evergreen- but I love places like this, and I've come here specifically at least a time or two." She shrugged without thinking, eliciting something of an indignant sniff from the slightly offset Cyn, which in turn just elicited a light chuckle back from her. "Haven't you been up here long enough anyway," she teased. It was her way of asking him to move now, and unfortunately he knew it. Not keen on getting down in the floor with that prissy little Budew (not even to mention Pinkie), nor on returning to his ball just yet, he sighed heavily before taking a third option. "Fiiine.." How eyes that consisted of no more than dots could be rolled was beyond Delilah, but roll them he did before slipping backward and morphing around her neck; then slimming down, enlongating, and hardening until he was a semi-fine silver chain with a hanging pendant. Said pendant was quite pink and proudly displayed a thickly drawn DX face. Looking down to see what he'd become, Delilah just grinned brightly and let out a fairly hearty laugh, even if she began trying to stifle it almost instantly. "Cute," she commented dryly, though she couldn't hide her amusement completely. She tapped at it a few times lightly, and another huffing sigh was heard seemingly from nowhere before it shifted instead to a plain amber cat's eye (to better compliment her outfit). "Speaking of makeshift necklace..." she mumbled, half-teasing. Returning her attention to Jemma, she pasted her friendly smile back on. "Sorry about that.. Anyway.." She clasped her hands together and leaned forward a bit as if glancing at the merchandise behind the blonde before looking back to her. "What sorts of things were you looking for exactly, did you say?" She'd heard her, after all, but specifics never hurt. In the meantime, Basil concluded that he had only been called over for introduction, and began meandering back toward the plants, and Sheena seemed to be having quite the time with Misty. It would be amazing if the Budew could actually keep up with her, heh. [/blockquote]

He'd heard that Ditto could do that but actually seeing it was entirely different. "Wow..." he muttered softly before blinking when Delilah leaned slightly closer. Once he realized she was looking over his shoulder more than actually attempting to get close, he inwardly sighed in relief. It wasn't that he didn't like her, but anyone getting exceptionally close to him made him nervous.
"Oh, um... I don't think I did say, but I'm just here for some shampoo, conditioner, and soap at the moment. If Devi finds any plants she wants to take home, maybe that, too. She's sensible... She wouldn't want something just because it looks or smells pretty, so I tend not to deny her things she wants," he admitted with a soft chuckle. "If you have any suggestions, I'd be glad to hear them. I'm pretty indecisive so I always have the hardest time buying things like this... Oh! Are you here for anything in particular?" He was starting to babble a little bit, so he made himself shut up before he started to annoy her. She was nice; he liked her. [/scrolly] |

[ Delilah ] Delilah smirked and cocked one eyebrow slightly when Jemma mentioned plants that were 'just' pretty, but she let the poor girl finish. Actually, her smirk had grown a little through the whole rambling. She seemed.. a little bit awkward.. It was cute. (Just as long as it didn't get too out of hand, of course.) "Just browsing everything really," she answered with a shrug. "I was looking at the plants when I bumped into your little Devi a few minutes ago- literally, but quite by accident I assure you." She faked a sheepish little laugh. "I keep a garden on my balcony at home. It's pretty pressed for space, but I try to keep a bit of everything.. from spices to medicinal herbs to, you know, things that just look and smell pretty~" It should have been quite clear she was teasing. A darker but more legitimate laugh escaped her, and she moved over toward the various bath stuffs the blonde was looking for. "You realize these aren't terribly more effective than the more chemical products, right?" They didn't cram artificial ingredients into things for nothing, after all; each had their pros and cons, of course, but some all-natural products like this were even indisputably inferior when it came to the primary purpose of actual cleaning power. Not that that stopped Delilah from picking up a bottle to skim over the back. "Mmm.." She set that bottle down and glanced back to Jemma. "It's really no better than buying a pretty plant instead of a pretty plastic knickknack, neh?"Another bottle was picked up, and then another. Comparing them a moment, she put one back and grinned at Jemma, offering it. "Damn if they don't smell amazing though." This particular one, if the woman would open it, smelled very strongly of cherry blossoms, with a hint of... citrus? The bottle also claimed that the ingredients were 100% organic and that it was good for most hair types. [/blockquote]

She was just so relaxed that it made him relaxed. Either way, at the slight tease, he blushed faintly and reached up to scratch his cheek sheepishly. He did also giggle a little to show he didn't really think she was offended by his earlier comment, though. At her following comment about the effectiveness of the product, he grinned. "Oh, yeah, I know. I, uh... well, this may sound silly, but sometimes I like to take a bath with my Pokemon. Rather than buy some product for actual animals, I like to baby them a little. This both smells better than the majority of chemical products and better for them. I assume it is, anyway."
At the second little "jab" of sorts from Delilah, he just lightly sighed. He just preferred to get things that had a purpose rather than just things for the sake of having things. After a moment, he smiled calmly and nodded in agreement to them all smelling damn good. Taking the bottle she offered and test-smelling it, he sighed with a pleasant hum. "Indeed they do. This one is most definitely nice," he said, closing the bottle and tilting it to look at the information. He was sure he had a citrus-y kind of perfume back at the apartment, too. Might go especially nice with this.
"Thanks," he offered with a bright smile. Jemma was glad she came along, otherwise he might've been standing there for several more hours with Misty getting increasingly more whiny over that time. He was pretty easy to please, he was just indecisive about little things like this. Reaching out to pick up a matching conditioner, he hummed thoughtfully and looked to Delilah curiously. "If you don't mind, maybe we could get together sometime when I'm not showing my... least impressive traits," he suggested with a light chuckle. Hoping it was clear he meant his indecisiveness and very likely his obliviousness regarding his comment on the plants, he just smiled and added, "We can exchange numbers." [/scrolly] |
