Nathan was chronically on edge. His exhausted heart was still slamming against his rib cage like some violent jailbird threatening to break away, and he continued to pace up and down the pokemon center that was located inside of the shelter and exchange. He had never felt, never wanted to feel, so helpless. His Amina was brutally injured, and there was nothing he could do about it. Nothing. Nathan had never felt so helpless.

There she had been, right in front of him, his Amina had been right in front of him, and in another moment, she'd been gone. It had all happened too quickly. One minute they had been walking into the Old Clock Tower out on a date, and in another moment, he'd found himself thrown into a void. It had confused him, and he found himself unable to move or do anything until this voice opened up and he found himself feet away from the tower with her, his Gardevoir, his Amina on the ground looking weakly at him before allowing her head to fall forwards and fainting. He'd never felt so helpless.

He hadn't even stopped to look at what had happened to the tower. His attention was on her and her alone. Picking her up, he'd run as fast as he could, nearly tripping several times, before he finally came to a pokemon center. He didn't know what had happened. He didn't care. His Amina had never fainted in front of him, not once, and it terrified him to see her in the state she was in, bruised, bloody, and weak. It hurt him.

Upon breaking through the doors of the center, he'd demanded someone come and help him, but it seemed that others had flooded the area as well. He broke through them. He'd fight them if he had to. He threatened people, those he would never have, in order to get to one of the nurses that was working. She'd taken one look at Amina and took her into her pokeball that he had never once thought to do. She was human to him, and it had startled him a moment to remember that she wasn't. However, after that, the nurse moved to the back leaving him standing there still horrified and helpless.

There were details, obviously, yet fear had burned them away, and raw thoughts were all that left in Nathan as he continued to pace up and down the pokemon center even now. It had been more than three hours, and still his Amina had not come out... People had administered pokemon and had gotten them back, yet his Amina... She was not by his side yet... "Sir? Sir...." a voice called, and Nathan froze in mid step before looking over to the nurse who was standing there. She had not been the one that had taken Amina back, and thus she received an unintentional scornful look. "Sir...uhm... would you like some coffee or something...?" she asked quieter than she had started. Nathan simply looked away and continued to pace as though he had not even heard her in the least.

He probably should have stopped to ask what had happened. It seemed a number of people knew or were talking about some sorts of explosions, yet Nathan didn't even register their existence. He didn't care. All that mattered was Amina. He'd wait.. he'd wait until he saw her... He'd wait until he was sure she was ok. Though he had managed to fight them back, there were fresh tears threatening to burst from Nathan's eyes.

The man himself sat on the floor, leaning against Pookins the Luxray that was settled just behind him, while the other eight smaller cats settled around him; KITTY the Zorua taking his lap, Misa-Misa the Skitty and Matsuda the Glameow huddled together on his left side, Marissa the Purrmeow hybrid and Miss Tuffsey (his second Skitty) cuddled into his right, Boo! the melanistic Eevee and Maya the Torchorua laying just in front, with Narukins the Eevoura perched just on his left shoulder. It was an odd site, but Felix could care less right now... one of his darlings, his most precious pet, was missing; Miss Nubbins... his very first cat, his most treasured, and his best friend. He hadn't found Nubbins until after the initial commotion... he heard of the Commercial District being bombed, or something, and was planning on heading over to loot any possible stores he could find... a distraction was always nice... but he hadn't planned on coming across his darling Skitty in such a... condition... Felix grunted, shaking his head and looking up his spot on the floor, glaring daggers at the people around him with bloodshot eyes, his eye patch pushed down around his neck. Yes, he had cried, and even now he was stifling a sob, but that didn't matter. He just needed to know Nubbins would be okay. His gaze shifted to Nathan, a growl coming up from his throat. He was so distracting, it just... annoyed him... and everyone was so loud... "Shutup!" He finally yelled, throwing his arms up over his head in an attempt to muffle the noise. Ugh, this just sucked... he just wanted to get Nubbins and go... [/scrolly]

He blinked looking towards the other red haired man but not seeing him. Closing his eyes, he said nothing for a few seconds before opening his eyes again and focusing on Felix. Felix Agro. The name came to him, and though he possibly could have said more about the man had his thoughts not been elsewhere (seeing as that was just the type of creeper Nathan was), he couldn't think of anything but a name. "I haven't said anything. Regardless, sorry for the noise," he stated dryly before starting to pace once more. Amina... his Amina... why hadn't she just whipped up a Protect or something? Why had she allowed herself to be hurt... why did she protect him when she was far more important? It wasn't right, not right at all. It wasn't fair... it wasn't right. He had been a rather academic during his tutored years and knew Era's laws by heart, and there was nothing ... nothing that could be used to excuse what had happened. A nurse came out, and Nathan stopped again only to find it was a different nurse relieving the other at the front and directing her to the back. Sighing softly, Nathan looked forwards again and started to walk slower this time. [/scrolly]

His eyes were swollen enough, glaring only strained them more than he had to. "Whatever..." He grumbled, leaning his head back onto Pookins, whom only looked at him with a sharp eye before giving a small lick to his temple. It seemed even she knew how dire the situation was. The other cats had an idea, but weren't exactly sure. To them, Miss Nubbins was sick and just had to be treated... thats what Felix told them, anyway. They simply nuzzled into their master's sides, huddling for warmth and protection in such a crowded, foreign place;even Maya was a bit uneasy, which was odd for the level-headed Poke'mon. KITTY turned in her seat and regarded Felix for a moment, pressing both paws onto his chest and leaning up to nuzzle his chin. Felix looked down at her, noticing the sadness in her eyes... so she knew too, eh? ... stifling a subtle sob, the man leaned forward and hugged the Zorua, his hair falling to hide his face from view. Another half hour passed with still no information. However, a nurse came out of the back shortly after this mini!spurt of time was over and seemed to hesitate before actually approaching Nathan. "You're Amina's..." she started. "Husband," Nathan snapped before realizing he had spoken so harshly. Falling silent for a brief moment, he stopped his walking and looked at the nurse almost challengingly. "Is she alright?" he asked trying to force a calmer appearance and failing. The nurse faltered for a moment. She was aware that people worried for their pokemon but hadn't expected to hear the world 'husband'. After a second or so, she nodded slowly. "She's still in intensive care... but she's starting to stabilize now... the nurse working on her wanted me to tell you that," she mumbled rubbing her arm quietly. Nathan's eyes widened, and though they had appeared dead beforehand, a flicker of life sparked in them. She was stabilizing... "Oh thank God," he nearly cried before wrapping his arms around the nurse. The nurse froze startled but slowly understanding this was simply his way to cope. Slowly patting him on the shoulder, she managed to smile. After a moment, she looked over towards Felix. That man was the one who had administered the Skitty wasn't he? Slowly making a gentle press on Nathan's chest to make him let go, which he did if a bit unwillingly at first. "And... sir... your Skitty... the nurse who was working on him wanted me to tell you he's stabilized and resting now..." she mumbled if a bit nervously. [/scrolly]

Not only did they contribute to the noise, but... he was getting good news, from what it sounded like. Why just him? What about Miss Nubbins? He was about to voice this complaint when the very same nurse cut him off, stating how his Skitty was... stabilized and resting. That was... that was a good thing, right? "Uhm..." He started, unsure, but Pookins finished for him, standing up behind Felix and nudging him upwards. "That is good news. Nubbins is safe." She stated matter-of-factly, with a small smile. Felix blinked, standing up. "Really...?" He asked softly, Pookins nodding. Nubbins was... safe! "He's okay!" He turned to his cats, arms open wide. They hopped and flung themselves at Felix's form, mewling all sorts of celebration. The momentum was too much and Felix toppled over, being swarmed by his feline loves, giggling uncontrollably. He was so relieved, he never felt anything like it! Pookins, however, turned to the nurse. "How long until Nubbins is retrievable?" She asked, fixing her with a keen eye. "We have plans that have been delayed because of this." She purred, thinking about the scheduled manicure she had for Felix to perform on her claws. Since things were okay, it was about time to get back to pampering herself. [/scrolly]

The nurse, however, hesitated a little and looked at the talking Luxray a tad worriedly. "W-well he probably should rest for at least another thirty minutes before anything... and..he should stay for longer, but if you really need to go..." she rubbed the back of her neck thinking about all the other pokemon she had to take care of at the moment. It didn't matter. Every pokemon's life counted. "C-can I see Amina?" Nathan asked finding his voice falter for a brief moment out of some still nervous feeling that was driving its way into him. He wanted to see her for himself to make sure she was alright... The nurse turned and once again hesitated --she seemed to be good at that now wasn't she?-- "Y-yes in a minute..." she answered before looking back at Felix again. "Would you like ... to see your Skitty as well?" she asked in her quiet voice. [/scrolly]

Pookins hummed, sitting down on her haunches. "Nubbins shall stay for as long as he needs to. That way my pet doesn't suffer any anxiety." She stated, swishing her tail around her ankles and looking sideways at Felix. 'You'll be leaving Miss Nubbins overnight. Lets go-" But she was cut off by the nurse's offer to see the Skitty. Although her eyes narrowed, she took the lead once more and stood back up. "Yes, we will. Come along, Feli." She looked back to Felix, before following the nurse. Felix didn't have to be told twice. He stood up quickly, brushing the mewling cats from his form, turning to regard them a moment. "None of you are leaving my sights again!" He said, the cats nodding in agreement. No more separation! "Two lines, grab a buddy... Tuffsey and Boo!, KITTY and Maya, Matsuda and Misa-misa, Narukins and Marissa, chop chop!" He went down the list, the cats scrambling over one another to stand next to their partner. Once they were settled, Felix smiled, adjusting his eye-patch back over his right eye, before turning heel and leading the way after Pookins. [/scrolly]

As the Nurse started to move, Nathan was on her heels almost too close for comfort, which the nurse mildly mumbled quietly about to herself. The hall that they were walking down had several different doors, and stopping at the first, the nurse directed Felix to it before then turning and walking across the hallway to another door and directing Nathan to that one. As he walked in, Nathan's form was a whirlwind towards Amina whom his eyes instantly caught laying peacefully in the bed. "Ami..." he hummed quietly setting a hand on her shoulder. The Gardevoir looked up weakly at Nathan but offered a smile. 'Sorry... I didn't think to...whip up a Protect or anything I just panicked.....' she mumbled softly to herself, yet Nathan shook his head battering away her words. "I'm... just so glad you're alright," Nathan choked a little before sinking onto his knees having his head then level with the bed. "I was so scared that... I'd lost you..." he frowned deeply. His eye(s) widened, yet before he could take a step forward, he almost toppled over as his felines rushed past him, clamoring onto the bed around the Skitty. It was Miss Nubbins! "Careful, careful!" Felix barked, squeezing himself between his cats at the side of the bed. "No touching! Hes still asle-" Yet he was cut off, the small head of Nubbins bumping affectionately into his own, a soft mewl accompanying it. Blinking, Felix squeaked, nuzzling his little bundle of joy. He was... happy. Pookins grinned a little and shrugged, laying out in the corner of the room. She... she could wait. [/scrolly]
