The day had been long and a little on the hotter side with clouds dotting the sky. Rivers traced their way across the lands, various pokemon finding solstice in the cool water. A slight wind blows across the flat Savannah, bending the yellow grasses and trees. Most pokemon slept during this time, waiting until night when it was cooler. This however was not what this girl had done.
Emirii and her strange family had been walking all day long. Trista, her newborn Vulpix was in her arms, Zori her Zorua had turned into a pidgy and was flying above, and, as always, Lanora her albino Espeon wasn't too far away. They had walked for a very long time, stopping sometimes for a drink of water that Emirii had in a canteen. When it turned into night time the group figured it was time to find somewhere to stay, deciding that the river was their best bet, they set up camp.
The fire was set, food was cooked and eaten and the travelers had nothing to do but lay around. Trista laid in Emirii's lap sound asleep, her only tail curled around her small warm frame. Lanora and Zori were sparring on the other side of the fire, being careful not to burn each other. Emirii let a smile creep across her dusty face as she lightly stroked the ball of sleeping fur in her lap.
This was heaven. This was her life.

Darkness had been a theme for that day, clouds mottling the sky ominously in warning of possibly severe weather. The Sun had poked its gaze through a couple of times, but only briefly, before it was swallowed up once more. It was a dreary, dark day, and the Poke'mon of the savannah sensed this, as many weren't out at the moment.
However, a slight scuttling could be heard nearby. Just barely being revealed in the fire's golden light was a Patrat, gazing at the ball of fire enviously, a slight shiver noticeable on her frame. Taking small peeks towards the girl and her Poke'mon, she slid down onto her stomach and remained still, trying to hide the fact that she was there seeking warmth.
In front of the small camp, a Girafarig could be seen ambling by, pausing to give the campsite a glance before looking left, then right. A slight grin overtook his muzzle and he turned, making his way around the back of the camp, as if 'just passing through' yet... hmm. What was he up to?
If Emirii dared to look beyond the tall grass nearby, she would find a pair of bright, yellow and red eyes staring back at her, or so it seemed anyway. In actuality, this Luxio was staring down the Patrat, licking her chops hungrily. The lioness was crouched low, and slowly, foot by foot, approaching...

The sounds of the night had Emirii almost to sleep when she heard a soft scuffle nearby. Knowing how dangerous things could possibly get, her eyes immediately popped open and searched the area around her. A Patrat was on it's stomach near her in search of warmth. Emirii immediately felt sorry for the little pokemon and went beside her to the leftover dinner and tossed it in a warm spot about a foot away. She hoped that the Patrat would take her offering and go into the warm light to warm it's little body.
A few seconds later another pokemon grabbed her and her Poke'mons attention, it was a tall Girafarig walking past. It glanced over at them, but just walked passed. Emirii detached her attention from the poke'mon and looked back into the fire, absently stroking her sleeping Vulpix's fur. She wasn't paying attention as her Zorua took the form of a Rapidash. But she was up in a second as the great horse Poke'mon reared up and started stomping and thrashing about with it's horn. The mane a bright, thick flame that looked hot enough to burn mountains.
Emirii stood up, the vulpix in her lap was now on the ground behind her legs. She was ready for anything, as her life in the mountains had taught her to be. As she grew closer she noticed that a Luxio was in the brush. Zori was fiercely trying to protect the campsite without coming close enough to get himself hurt.
On the other side of the fierce Rapidash, the Espeon looked the lion in the eyes. < What do you want from us, lion?> She asked in a strong voice. There was no way this Luxio was going to get any easy food here.

The Patrat jumped back when the food was thrown, but quickly came back into view, nose wrinkling furiously as she sniffed the offering. Suddenly her eyes widened and she looked back to the girl, squeaking a quiet thank you before diving onto the food, nibbling away happily. She was much more comfortable by this fire! However, the sudden movement and commotion spooked her and she dove into the grass again, peering out nervously with a small shiver. What was going on...?
The Girafarig was also taken aback by the sudden movement and sidestepped into taller grass, blinking slowly before snorting. Well, there went his idea of mischief and surprise... shaking his head, he looked around to try and figure out what they were so riled up about, when... he gasped, taking another step back into the grass and ducking his head. Oh no, that couldn't possibly be her...
Upon being found out, the Luxio smirked and stood, revealing herself fully in the flickering fire's light. She tossed her developing mane gently before laughing, sneering at the group in front of her. <I want nothing with you, fox and friends.> She crooned smoothly, a bright eye flickering to the side, towards the Patrat's hiding spot. <I am simply hunting dinner, which you oh-so conveniently spoiled. As such...> She suddenly sprang, claws exposed, towards the Patrat. <Fast food!>
