While that's definitely a fine idea, and I'll be technically okay with anything at all, there seems to be something kinda nice about just the admins having their own special-colored-names?

that said ofc I'd be wonderfully happy with my own green-to-yellow name <3.

I was a little concerned that if EVERYONE had different names someone may eventually find it a bit confusing. I mean, there's a huge list at the top of the board telling you who's what, but I'm sure it's still a thing to someone??

But as a way to have everyone unique and still distinguishable, what about:

Admins have monochrome names
Mods have two-tone names

Just to be safe (since apparently Firefox is dumb), no one will be able to have the same starting or ending color as an admin, though you can have an start color that matches an end color or vice versa. So like, no one could have my dark green fading to anything, but they could have something fading to it if they really wanted (though I'd try to slightly offset them anyway).


So uh... I guess if most people like that and everyone can agree one who gets what colors I can set that up? X3

Please post your preferred colors in their preferred order. :B Try to be specific. Like I know Flora's favorite shades but there's a difference between "blue to red" and "sky to crimson" and "navy to indianred". I reserve the right to switch order or tone down colors a little or whatever if I feel something is too harsh, but will try not to change it too much, and if you're unhappy with the result you can request something else.

Caden isn't super picky about the colors, but he wants something really bright and happy ^_^ *shot* D: But no orange.. or yellow.. I don't like either of them much. Especially orange.. ^^

x3; And again, SOMEONE is going to complain no matter WHAT we do. (That's not a personal jab; MC was complaining he didn't like green when it was just that and Caden was sad when there was no purple, etc.) But at least this way everybody will like his or her own colors so we can avoid fighting over what everyone will be and there is no appearance of favoritism if one person's preference is chosen over another's and so-on.

Anyway, I'm really not concerned with who thinks it's "tacky" as long as each mod is content enough; just like I really don't care for big elaborate banners even if someone might think a smaller one looks "bare" because I prefer people can actually see the board to some extent upon page load; and just like I really don't care about having a fancy image-heavy skin even if someone might think it's too "simple" because I prefer that everyone has options to fit their tastes and/or mood.

And just like people can use whatever layout for signatures/post tables/bios/bio storage/whatever that they want as long as all the necessary info is present, for that matter. :3

X3 Customization over uniformality has always been a pretty big thing on VC when I think about it, heh~

I wasn't sad about no purple, I just said that I like purple ^_^ Just a hint, my emoticons don't ALWAYS ENTIRELY show how I feel. T_T Is just my super sad face, though it doesn't mean I'm crying.. *though sometimes I am* ^_^ So if I used a sad face, I am sorry.

And I have had many, MANY, MANY arguments with Ether about this. She has replaced SO many nice little banners with massive horrible bulky obtrusive ones and I hate it more than I can tell you. That's pretty much all Ether does here outside of her occasional spurts of activity. x3; She advertises like crazy, and messes with skins without telling anyone despite having been asked a good two dozen times to at least let us know what she's done if she's not going to bother talking to anyone beforehand about such big changes.

X3; Yes we've also had this chat debate several times. For the record, Caden, some people use T__T as a leering face. Not necessarily "mad" or "angry", though it can be that too, but definitely at least annoyed. It's more upset than -__- but not as raging as D:< or D< or Dx, etc. It's like this face, I guess. [here]

That said, plenty of other people, like you and Kero, use it as an alternative for TT__TT.

Personally, I lean toward the latter for two reasons. For one, I just see it more; my focus is naturally drawn to the stalk of the T rather than the top, which makes my mind perceive that part as the eye with an eyelid rather than seeing a closed eye with a line of tears. But for the other, while you can convey similar crying with TT__TT as well as do other different crying emotes, there really isn't a good easy-to-type alternative for T__T as a leer. The only decent one is ¬__¬, and even that is a little more sideglancing. But yeah.

Overall it's a preference thing, though to be safe I try to avoid that emote if I think about it outside of direct chat with people I know see it the same way I do in order to avoid confusion. x3; Since there's a big difference between crying and annoyed, heh.
