How many times must a man look up, before he can see the sky? Yes, how many ears must the pokemon have, before they can’t stand to listen? Yes, how many lives will they waste, before they realize it was pointless? The answer my friend, is sitting in a cell. The answer is sitting in a cell.
Well, he was. It didn’t seem to matter how many times Sen looked up, there was no sky. Just the hard, cold and plain ceiling above him. He had managed to talk so much that no pokemon alive would have been able to stay sane if he began talking to them again. Luckily for them, Sen had found himself a distraction. A rare occasion through out the days he had been locked up but it did happen. Most often it was caused by his need to exercise. Today however, it was caused by a couple rocks he had found under his bed. They were proving to be rather fun.
“No, no, I just can’t do it! I’m not talented enough!” Sen claimed as he made one of the rocks run hopple away to the side. “But my dear, you are! I know you are! You must do it!” And thus he moved the second rock towards the first and clicked them together. “No! I can’t” Such a dramatic tone he took on for the voice of the first rock. “If not for you, than us! You must.” … “Ohhhh Aric” “Ohh Alic!” And with that the kissing sounds began to escape Sen’s lips. Sure, it was a typical love story and most likely something he had seen in a movie in a motel. None the less he seemed rather occupied. It wasn’t like he had much else to do. He didn’t know what was going on in the world outside. He was pretty sure Kel had been moved somewhere else because the man hadn’t been talking for weeks. The pokemon didn’t seem to want to talk to him much. He had already spent a while working out. Last but not least, he had slept enough he had no desire to sleep again for a good long while.

From all that had transpired in the past few months, things were finally starting to cycle the way they should have done. That being said, some things were still not right and never would be, yet for now, Felis found himself at least partially at peace. The relief efforts were continuing to go on in the capital, and Ferdinando had woken up and would be coming home from the hospital soon. Changes here and there had been made, and quite a lot of running around had occurred. People were seen, talked with, and the like. What had once been chaotic was now settling down into order once more............. .Though a certain inmate had taken that time frame wherein Felis was out dealing with the tragedy to escape, sigh. Well, Felis decided he would simply look on the bright side of things. Yes, remember the positives. It would all be alright, somehow....though lives were lost, though chaos had reigned, though someone had escaped from his own jail--- Ok he really needed to stop.
Felis blinked realizing that he was staring at the door to the basement and had been doing so for the last fifteen minutes. Uh... What was he uh.... Shaking his head slowly and rubbing the back of his neck, he looked down realizing that he had the cart and trays of food pressed up against the door as though willing the thing to open on its own despite the actual lock now on the door. Sighing to himself, Felis took out a key and slowly stuck it in the lock before opening it and starting to push the cart down the ramp. Why exactly did he not have one of the butlers, who had come home again, if sporadically, administer the food, Felis would never quite understand himself. However, if one looked into his psyche, it held some obscure need to tell of what had happened: the capital, that was, among other things. He couldn't explain why nor was able to find any logical answer that gave any sort of explanation. Then again, Felis was only logical on some attributes when it came down to it.
As he pushed the cart down the ramp, Felis noted the squeaking of the wheels as they moved and tried to make a mental note to have that looked at.... though with other more important maters on his frontal cortex, it was more likely he would forget. As he finally came down to the bottom, Felis pushed pas the rows of cells and finally came to the single one that was left. Opening the door, Felis looked towards Sen with a somewhat blank if tired expression before pushing the food inwards. "Lunch time," he managed to hum if not in his fully light matter. Come on now... he needed to push that up a bit more.....but.....sigh.

Had the sound of the cart reached Sen’s ears? Well of course it had. It didn’t, however, mean that Sen was going to look up right away. After all, he had become accustom to the sound. It always meant the same thing; food for the day. Possibly the time of day that Sen liked the most. Not only was it because of the food, but because reminded him that another day had passed. So, for being the most interesting time of his day, why hadn’t he looked up? It was just so funny to see what different ways Sen could come up with to piss off Rosie. Today he was going to try the ignoring factor. And then….. Wait? There was a different sound as well. It seemed… almost human?
Well if there was one thing Sen couldn’t do, it was to ignore someone who wasn’t Rosie. Sure enough, to Sen’s surprise, he found himself looking up at the blond haired man. How long had it been since Sen last saw Felis make his way down to see him? Forever ago it seemed. Then again, Sen had lost track of how many days he had been down there. It just didn’t seem important for one reason or another.
None the less, the kissing rocks were shoved aside as Sen jumped to his feet and gave a rather warm smile back. “I wasn’t expecting to see you again.” was the first few words out of his mouth. They were spoken in an almost teasing tone, “I thought that Roserade was having too much fun threatening me to let someone else come down.” With that he gave a small chuckle. It seemed it was all a game to Sen. A game that took place in a small cell he thought to be more like an extended stay in a hotel. The only down side, though Sen didn’t seem to take much note on it, it was that the game never tended to last long. Perhaps…. He could get Felis to stay longer than Rosie would.

Looking back at Sen, Felis let out a half sigh. "Rosie was tending to the green house plants along with a few other pokemon, so I decided to give him a break," he finally answered back. In all effect, this was only somewhat of a truth not because Felis endorsed lies so much as Rosie wasn't just tending to the plants: more like... he was ordering others around to help tend to the plants. Sargent Rosie El Roserade on command. Ah well... same difference in the end, yes?
Unsure if he even wanted to really continue talking, Felis found himself hesitating there still in mid step. Who was he kidding? He wanted to explain what had happened, least it somehow affect the man there in the basement. He didn't even know how he assumed this would change anything, but it felt like it still needed to be said for whatever reason.......However, he still wasn't going to make any sort of alert to the fact that Kel was no longer there... or at least he would try to. These thoughts seamed the forefront of Felis's mind as he stood there.

Sen’s smile faded for a slight moment as a thoughtful expression took place. “There is a green house?” the words had been blurted out before Sen even realized it had been silly of him to ask. “Of course there is. Heh, I forget I’ve only seen a few parts of this castle.” With that a bit of laughter escaped his throat. Sure enough the smile was back on his face and Sen had turned a bit to pick off the sweetest tasting item on the tray. It really did make him wonder though… how big was the place? If he managed to get out of his cage, could he find his way out of the castle if he couldn’t use the same way he came in? Hopefully it wouldn’t be that big.
That wasn’t worry at the moment though. He had made no efforts to escape just yet. The perfect moment hadn’t presented its self. For now, what was important, was the need for human contact. Even if it was short and only talking. “You seem a bit down than when I remember you before.” Yet another comment escaped his lips, though this was one was carefully picked. “Does it mean you’ve finally picked a hanging date?” Surely that day would come, wouldn’t it? He was, after all a criminal and in most of the area that was the punishment. He was actually shocked he had lasted as long as he had. Perhaps…. Perhaps it was why Kel had become so quiet. Well, if that was true, Kel would have excaped, right? Of course he would.

However, at the second question, Felis found a smile slowly coming to his lips and fading again. Shaking his head, he forced what almost sounded like a groan more than a laugh. "No, been too busy," he partially lied again. For one thing, the sudden rush of action at the capital and the like had pressed itself to him making it hard to do anything outside that situation. However, there was also the other factor that...that somehow for all the toughness he had tried to place onto himself, he still wasn't strong enough to kill... or at least.....
"There was an attack on the capital.... people were killed by the scores," he murmured after a moment as his eyes rested forwards and away from Sen. "A lot more were injured and or were left close to death anyways..." he sighed being reminded then of those that hadn't made it... those that he ad rushed to the hospital that, though he had tried everything to save them, had died anyways. A lump smacked itself against Felis's heart so rhythmically with the beating of it that he wondered for a brief moment if it had seeped into the tissue and become one with the muscle.

For many, such an answer as ‘No, been too busy’ would be sort of well, hurtful. Even for a criminal. Many would think of it as being so unimportant that his own hanging wasn’t even worth the time of day. A few would probably feel rather crapy about that, while others would be angry. On the other hand, there would also be that small handful that would be rather grateful for such a response. It meant more time for life, didn’t it? For Sen, well, he had none of those emotions. No relief, no anger, no sadness. He just continued to smile and nodded, “Ah, you’ve busy.”
After that small comment Sen fell silent and listened to Felis explain something about an attack on the capital. The capital, was of course, his home. Though he didn’t spend much time there, he always did end up back there one way or another. It was also the home for many of his gang members. Not to mention it was the best place to go if one was behind the dues. Yet instead of worrying about them, or if all the people were ok, Sen’s mind went straight to wondering what the capital must look like. In fact, he almost opened his mouth to ask Felis just that. Luckily he stopped himself before he could blurt it out. Felis was clearly upset about the attack on the capital and thus Sen would be required to at least fake feeling saddened about this news.
“It must have been a real disaster.” Sen replied finally, trying his best to muster up a sympathetic expression. Though it was hard to do so this time. It had been so long since he had another human to talk to that it rather hard to keep the smile off his face. “I hope no one I know was there at the time.” Not that he knew many people anyway. Or would even care if they did get hurt. He knew he wouldn’t even if he should. “Guess I was lucky I was here, heh. I often visit the capital.” Perhaps it would have been an early death.

It stared at the expressions Sen made for less than a second before retreating forwards again as though it had finished whatever it had been looking at despite the fact that the mind had not. The owner of the eye was quiet as he listened to the finishing words of his prisoner, and a sigh quietly echoed out after a moment. "Guess so," he answered back in a far more dry tone than he had initially intended it to be.
"Thankfully a good portion of the Eran Emporium was rebuilt and is now suctioning again... though the Clock Tower is completely destroyed," he sighed again as though he weren't even talking to Sen anymore but rather possibly to some unnamed audience hiding there in the shadows who were possibly far more attentive than Sen was being at the moment. "Have you ever seen the Clock Tower... when it was around?" he asked not even sure why he was bothering to make conversation. It didn't make sense, and yet he was doing it anyways... sigh. A somewhat thoughtful look crossed Sen’s face when Felis began talking about the clock tower. He had seen it a few times. Been inside it as well. To hear it was gone was sort of… well it was just wired. Sen couldn’t really imagine it actually being gone. Most likely it would have to be something he would need to see with his own eyes to fully believe it had happened. But, Sen knew the Duke had no reason to lie to him either. Did he?
He was failing greatly at keeping up his sympathetic expression and had almost completely abandoned it. When Felis finally asked if he had ever seen the clock tower when it was around, Sen nodded, the smile returning to his features as he completely dropped his act. “Yup I have. I caught a few pokemon there. Ohh like my- errr…..” He paused after that. He didn’t want to give Felis any indications that he had any hope of ever escaping. Perhaps this was a good time to play on that. “I use to have a Bronzong named Flora who I found in the tower. It was the only place she had ever seen before Plum and I- ……” Once again Sen cut himself off, this time a question forming in his head. One he couldn’t seem to ignore. It almost…. It almost caused something to stir deep inside him. Eh, it was probably nothing. Yet somehow, fear was slowly rising as well. “What happened to the other pokemon living there? So many grew up there all their lives. Do they have a new home?”

However, towards the end and final question, he turned around and put his hands in his pockets staring at Sen. "Most likely the bulk of them died," he answered back abet more dryly than he had anticipated. True, most of them were capable of leaving the tower, but it had collapsed so quickly due to the bombings that it wasn't undoubted that many died just as many humans had died in the commercial district.
Looking up at the ceiling then, Felis sighed. "If they couldn't get away in time, they were crushed... plain and simple," he stated in a dry, deadpanned tone though echoed something deeper... as though he had already extinguished the emotional grief necessarily to go further at least for the moment. Now this was harder logic than he had wanted. However, there it was in all its raw coldness. There was nothing that could be done to alter it either....sigh.

Dead? Crushed? Sen had seen many horrible things happen to humans. He had done a few of those horrible things to them. He had even had some die by his own hands. Never completely on purpose, but when living the life of a thief… well it happened. He had also seen many horrible things happen to pokemon. Some were beaten, others abused. Many stolen and sold or forced to fight when they couldn’t. But he had never in all his life heard of innocent wild pokemon being the victims of such a …. Well Sen wasn’t even sure what the word for it was. Yet it caused that fear to rise even higher. It was silly really. What he was afraid of? The tower had already collapsed and just as Felis had said. Nothing could be done about it. So what was this fear for? Perhaps it was for something else.
“Yah…. I guess you are right, heh….” Sen replied in a small voice as he thought it all over, “I guess they are in a better place.” With that his smile returned as his purple eyes fell on the blond haired man once again. The fear suddenly suppressed its sell as the odd feeling deep inside vanished. Sen had no idea what had been going on with himself but he felt better now. Perhaps it was sickness from being locked up for so long. “No matter, the past is past and the only future is ahead of us. Well, you. … But you didn’t come down here to tell me all this, did you?

Turning, Felis finally looked back at Sen and offered something of a weak smile. "That and a few days ago was New Years," he answered back as though this were somehow on par with all that he had already said though it cut him far less than the others had. It was something that his mind had come up with quickly as though trying to find a still logical excuse for standing there stull when he could be upstairs either finishing the last of his paperwork or watching The Lion King with Rosa in her tower.
"Enjoy your meal," Felis said after a moment before turning to leave. Despite this motion again, he felt an odd compulsion to stay there despite all had been said and done. He wasn't sure exactly wha and thus he walked slowly away least the thought come to him.

A few days ago was New Years? He had been there that long? It had been a lot longer than a few weeks, perhaps a month, like he has assumed. He had been locked up for what seemed to be, well, a good three months at the least. No wonder his face actually had some pretty long stubble! New Years…. It was the first one he had ever missed. Not that he did much for the other New Years anyway. Usually just found himself a bar and got plastered. Then again, it was the first New Years he had spent alone as well. It also meant he missed Christmas. Not that he cared about that at all. Santa never came down his chimney to give him even coal. After all, he didn’t have a chimney. Ah well, life would go on.
Yet…. Something didn’t add up. Sure the Duke was busy, and he had to deal with the attack on the Capital, but how long would have kept him too busy? Sure there was probably lots Sen didn’t know but something deep inside that clever mind of his was whispering to him. Something he couldn’t help but say aloud. “I’m not going to be hung, am I.” A simple enough question and one easy enough for the Duke to ignore. Felis, could, after all, just keep on walking. Sen, however, felt that the man wouldn’t ignore it. Or maybe that was hope? Hope that he wouldn’t ignore it. Hope that he could finally understand what he was dealing with and what to expect or prepare for.

There was somewhat of an interesting silence, yet after that, a forced laugh followed, and Felis finally looked back towards Sen. It felt so odd. It had been forever ago since he had talked to Kero and come to that decision, but it was only then that Felis actually realized he had made no real note of it to the inmate in question. There had been no real reason to, but now that the question had been posed, he decided to give the answer that he had come to.
"Nope," he answered back oddly lightly thought his face fell shortly after that. "You're going to be chained into the servitude of Evergreen City when I get around to it... for at least a good fifty years, give or take." There was something caught between an eerie calm and a still tired expression that now laced Felis's lips. His mind was still on other things when it came down to it.

An eyebrow raised as the word, ‘chained’ came out of Felis’s mouth. Chained? Now that wouldn’t do. He was pretty sure the only time he would enjoy being chained to anything was when he was roleplaying with someone. Heh, that was always fun. Always ended with no- 50 years?
Sen blinked at that last statement, thinking it over for a moment as he lifted his eyes and began counting using his fingers on one hand. Finally his purple orbs fell down to Felis with an almost amazed expression set on his features. “That’d mean I’d live past the age of seventy, give or take.” he announced with disbelief. He certainly didn’t see himself ever living past forty let along making it to seventy. What would he even do once his time was served? He’d be too old and worn to steal anymore. He’d have no home to return to, no job to take up and no way to even feed himself. If that all happened then he would certainly feel bad feelings and he certainly couldn’t have that happen either. At least from the sounds of it he would get fresh air at last. That was… if he didn’t make a successful escape.
“Do people even live that long? I always thought sixty was the limit unless you were a well fed noble. Although some of them risk death due to unhealthy weights. Could you ever imagine being fat? I certainly can’t. How would one ever climb a tree with so much extra weight. Or even paint their toe nails?!” With that last question Sen actually found himself looking down at his own hand. His usual purple paint was all but gone and for the first time in years one could actually see his real nails. It was so…. Odd to him. A couple of them were even chipped. They looked so messy. Not to mention he felt rather dirty. It had been months since he had bathed. He had a comb and toothbrush that had been placed on the cart of food about the third day he had been locked up.

Even as he continued to ask questions, Felis didn't answer back. In all honesty, it was fairly likely that Sen would die before his term was up for various reasons, but Felis wasn't going to say this. In truth, for whatever reason, he couldn't seem to bring himself to say it even if he had wanted to. Once Sen had finished speaking, Felis simply sighed and managed a weak smile before looking back towards Sen.
'You've caused people a lot of problems, it seems," he answered back dryly. "This way you'll end up being forced to make amends for it." He made no notion to address anything that Sen had said, and he simply wasn't going to even if asked again. "And people need work done anyways, now a days," he finished before starting to walk away again. He wasn't walking particularly fast, but his motion at least seemed to say that he was done with that conversation. [/scrolly] |

Sen blinked again when Felis began to speak. The man certainly wasn’t answering any of his question’s, but that was ok. Sen knew he had began to rumble on anyway. But Felis’s words confused him. Emends for the problems he caused people? He had heard of some people being forced to work at restaurants, stores and things after stealing from them. Even Sen had done that. He made the mistake of stealing from one of the stew places in the central. The owner, a rather tall, muscular man was use to Sen’s kind coming around a lot and well… he had traps for theifes. Instead of reporting him to the authorities though, he put Sen to work for the day. It wasn’t all that bad, but the labour was enough to pay for the meal he had stolen. Yet in all Sen’s years, he had never heard of labour being the solution for a Duke.
Before Sen could comment at all, the man before him was leaving. It seemed there was no room for further comments on the subject. It was happening and that was that. On the other hand, Sen wasn’t ready to be left alone again. Besides, he knew it was Felis who made the finale decisions around the place. “Wait!” Was the very first word that rang out of Sen’s mouth as he raced up to the Plexiglas. “I’m only going to cause more problems if you make me work next to people smelling like this!” He exclaimed rather dramatically, “They’ll get sick, and woozy and then pass out! It will be a catastrophe! ”

He... wanted a bath? Turning his head slightly to one side, Felis stared for a few seconds before stepping back and looking at Sen. After a few seconds, he looked upwards and almost seemed to be addressing the ceiling before pulling out a pokeball and releasing a Skiploom who hovered there for a few seconds before turning her head to one side. "Skip?" he asked.
"Skai please go up to the first floor and have a bath prepared in the bathroom that is closest," Felis smiled a little. For a brief moment, Skai looked surprised, yet after that, he managed to smile a bit and nodded his head before quickly floating up the stairs and heading towards the nearest bathroom. After that, Felis looked back and put his hands in his pockets before smiling. "We can fix that easy enough," he answered back. [/scrolly] |

With a tilt of his head, Sen fell silent once more as purple eyes watched Felis come to a halt. He continued to watch as the man stood there. It seemed Sen had him at least considering the possibility of letting him have a bath. Sure enough, a pokemon was called out and commands were given. There was a smile spread from ear to ear long before Felis even claimed that they could fix the problem easy enough.
“I’m more grateful than you can ever imagine“ Sen blurted out with a clap of his hands, and a step back from the Plexiglas. He then gave a few quick bows just to prove how happy he was to be getting such a treat as a bath, “You never realize how much a bath is worth until you’ve gone without one for so long.” With that, he finally stood up straight again, waiting. Perhaps he would be seeing Beth again.

"I'll be right back," was all he mumbled rather quietly to himself before starting to walk away. Heading up the stairs, he walked through the castle and then out of it before calling one of his mildly obscure hybrids from the lawn. Rather that call his Garchomp, Felis instead had flagged over one of his his Druddilotic, Natalie, whom, after a bit of confusion, followed after her trainer.
Thus, he came back down the stairs and to the basement before looking towards Sen with a quiet stare and finally unlocking and opening the door. Natalie, more used for intimidation than anything, made a sort of 'hmmm' sound and waited to see what this human would do.
