Luana was in a horrid mood. she hadn't been able to do much of anything for the people that had suffered only weeks ago, and she was finding it even harder to take care of herself. For one damn thing, the winter was cold, as if anyone doubted this, but Luana had thought she would have found Indi before winter had set in... and worse, Christmas. It was their first Christmas apart, and fuck her life she wanted out. She wanted to be home away from this stupid, weak-minded, idiotic place where doctors frowned on her intelligent ways because they were too stupid to realize that she was trying to help. She wanted to be home by a warm fire eating that stupid tasteless but horribly addicting fruit cake that Isaac always made during the holidays. She wanted to be watching A Christmas Story over and over again while eating stale popcorn that her mother-in-law always bought in those ridiculous tins during the season. She wanted to be yelling at Ivan and Illian for their baboon treatment of the kitchen and dining table. She.... she wanted to play Pong with Indi. God damn it.
That ... above all else... was what she wanted. She wanted her Indi. Her Indiana, her Indifference, her Indiot, her Indibot. She wanted her stupid goofball of a husband who, despite being a lazy oaf that rarely did his work unless one counted playing video games as such, loved her, and all powers above she loved him back. She wanted the man she had jumped continents for, the man whom she'd been searching for for what felt like forever now. She wanted to tell yell and scream and punch the shit out of him for allowing himself to be captured by those idiots, but she also wanted to cry and beg him never to leave her ever again. She wanted to tell him how much he meant to her and how hard of a time she had had without him, even if it was a smack to her pride as the strong woman she was. God damn it all, she wanted her Indiana Indigo. She didn't care how, where, or why...she wanted her Indi for Christmas.
She walked down the street of the capital's residential district boding like this... freezing like hell but also boding. Damn, she wished she had a better jacket... but Indi first.
Meanwhile, a block over, Indiana Indigo was walking with his head down and his teeth chattering. He had never minded the cold, at least the artificial cold that came with living in a laboratory, but winter was another story. Despite his freezing body, his thoughts were elsewhere. He knew it was around Christmas. As if the cold and decorations on the street weren't enough to give that away. He wondered what his family and Luana were doing back in Usara. He wondered if Aletha had managed to get back home. He was sure that someone had thought of something and managed to get her out... possibly Illian or Angel... or maybe Jabari. Probably Jabari. He wondered what... what Luana was doing... He hoped she was having fun... possibly still working on some experiment with her biology even now... or maybe Mom had managed to get her to stay home and celebrate. He hoped for the latter. Luana didn't deserve to be lonely. She was too good a woman for that.
Luana.... he missed her... the most. He missed his rival and his best friend. He missed his stern-faced crazy wife who always made him laugh. He missed the woman whom had always been by his side even in the worst of circumstances. He missed her... and allowing himself to feel it fully was causing something to shake ever so slightly deep inside Indi. That scowling cold expression he could always somehow manage to push into a smile and those sharp brown eyes that always leered over her glasses that he loved to make change into a lighter expression..... He missed that pale face that he could set his hand on and run his hands down... those soft lips he liked to kiss especially when they were turned down. He missed her laugh, that obscure gasping sound that only came out when he was either being really funny or tickling the shit out of her. He loved those words 'you Indiot' but only if they came from her mouth. He loved that look she gave when she gave into his games.. when she stopped and actually played Pong with him or when they played Lego Star Wars like pros... heck even when she kicked his ass at Wii sports...He loved when they simply sat in their bed and talked about how many dots each thought was on the ceiling of their room.... He... he wanted her....He wanted to take her into his arms and just hold her there.
He wanted her to be with him.... and with that, though he was slow, Indiana realized this was the first Christmas they would spend apart from one another since they got married....damn. Why was he doing this to himself?
Both continued to look downwards and walked towards the corner that met at a ninety degree angle....
BANG.
Indi found himself sitting on the icy sidewalk groaning and rubbing his forehead slowly. "Ow damn... uh... sorry..." he mumbled. Luana found herself sitting on the ground readjusting her glasses that had been messed up during the collision.
"Ugh... the fuck is wrong with you watch where you're going..." she growled finally fixing her glasses enough to see. Indi, though he might have said something back if it were any other person he was now staring at, was dead silent. No. Way. Luana blinked startled as her eyes settled on the red --.... red.
"Luana."
"Indi...."
"No way."
Both sat there staring was if not believing, yet in another moment both had sat up and in less than a second, both had wrapped their arms around each other. "Indi... it is you..." Luana said quietly.
"Luana... Luana it is you... My ... My God... Luana I ... I can't beli---" Yet before he could say any more, Indi felt a punch to the face and fell silent. Ohshi---!!!!
"Indiana.... HOW DARE YOU GET YOURSELF CAUGHT YOU IDIOT!" Luana shouted before proceeding to smack him across the face again. Indi flinched, yet in another moment, a high pitched laugh escaped from the red haired man. "I'm going to KILL you for worrying me you son of a bitch!" she continued to shout no longer smacking him but shaking him rather hard. Despite this, Indi continued to laugh. "Do you know how expensive it was to get here? Do you even know how much you worried me? Do you even know how idiotic you are?" she continued to shout before breaking into illogical high pitched roars.
Suddenly Indi raised his hands and snatched Luana's hands pushing them together before staring at her for a moment. "I'm an idiot. I know. I'm... sorry for worrying you....I'm ... sorry for getting myself caught.... I'm... Luana... I'm... so glad... to see you...." though he was trying to fight back the sudden rush of tears that were threatening his single eye, Indi made a quiet whimpering sound that vibrated the air for a moment. In another moment, Indi had released Luana's hands again and wrapped his arms around her setting his forehead on her shoulder fighting back the feelings. Luana didn't move for a moment, yet after a few moments of shock, she slowly hugged him back.
And thus they found each other on Christmas no less. Due to the cold, they ended up getting up off the street a few minutes later and started walking around before finally finding a pokemon center closer in town to rest in. Though the bunk-beds of said pokemon center were not meant for two people, they both squished into one and both felt at peace for the first time in months.
