After flying a little ways out, Vengeance spotted the mesa and after thinking that it would be quiet enough, told Lucifer to land. Lucifer complied willingly and in no time they had landed at the top of the mesa. Everything was quite ... or at least it seemed that way for now, sliding off of the shiny Hydreigon, Vengeance looked around for a moment. After seeing that she was alone, Vengeance sat down on the ground and leaned against Lucifer, closing her eyes as she did so,"Another year older .... ,"Vengeance sighed, shaking her head slightly,"I hate birthdays ... ." Of course there was good reason for her dislike of birthdays considering the last birthday she had celebrated had been the day she'd come home to see her dad over Lily who was covered in blood. Vengeance had thought her baby sister was dead ... had every reason to believe it ... only to find out years later that she was alive. Still, even though finding her sister was supposed to make her ... happy ... Vengeance had been even more miserable than before ... she could never forgive herself for leaving Lily like that when she could have helped. Never mind the fact that she hadn't been in a state of mind to even think of doing that at the time .... ever since then, Vengeance had hated birthdays, especially her own. That was why she hadn't told anyone (or at least everyone aside from Jack) when her birthday was ... Vengeance didn't want people to fuss over her and wish her a 'happy' birthday because to her it just wasn't a 'happy' occasion and never would be as far as Vengeance was concerned. To her it was just evidence that another year had passed, nothing more ... nothing less, opening her eyes Vengeance felt the wind flowing through her hair and sighed. Everything was so peaceful up here ... Vengeance wished that she could stay like this forever but knew that could never be ... she had work back at the lab after all ... sooner or later she would have to leave this place but ... that could wait for a while. For now, Vengeance was just enjoying the peace of her surroundings; the sanctuary of sorts she had found, and for now this was enough.[/scrolly]	[atrb=style,border:0 black none;]

The sound of vibration in the air could be heard where Vengeance was, but for now it was far off. What was making the noise in question? A rather softly tinted Flygon was flying rather quickly towards the Mesa. This probably wouldn't have been much of a surprise, really. Though rare, there were Flygon in the area naturally. However, what would catch the eye if they happened to actually see the buzzing creature was that he was a bit off tint wise... and upon his back, a white haired, red eyed young woman dressed in rather tight leather clothing. Every few seconds, the young woman excitedly look around at the land before her, constantly smacking herself with hair as she went but continuing to do so anyways. "It's so amazing, Flint," an excited voice escaped from Skye as she continued to look around and grin ear to ear. "The land is actual land! Not like... that sea of sand Dad calls land!" a surprisingly easy exaggerated laugh escaped following this statement.

No one could imagine how excited Skyler was to be out and away from home. She'd had just about enough of work and all this preparation for a job she wasn't even sure she wanted to take when it came down to it, and thus, she had taken Flint, her best friend, and simply departed. A part of her wondered if she should have asked Fang to come along at least, but another brash part of herself wanted to strike out on her own and prove that she could be out more than five minutes without getting killed. Well, she'd been out for nearly an hour, and nothing had happened. So there. Take that everyone back home! She could be on her own!

As she continued to look forwards, Skye actually noticed the massive rock that was the Red Mesa and wondered how in the world she could have not seen that thing beforehand. Meantlly sweat dropping and cruising her distractions while mentally blaming them for blinding her, she nodded her head. "Hey Flint! Let's go up that way!" Skye called pointing up towards the Mesa. The Flygon was quick to comply and quickly started to fly higher and higher before finally coming to the top. Upon coming over rock, Flint stopped and hovered a moment, as if he had somehow read the next intentions of his trainer who was already trying to do her best to slip off her friend's back. Ungracefully falling to the ground, Skye flinched a little before quickly shoving herself up. "I'm alright!" she quickly reassured the air before blinking and wondering who she was talking to.

It wasn't overly warm on top of the red mesa but then again, Vengeance was wearing her more ordinary outfit that kept the heat in well enough. That plus a black jacket lined with grey faux fur kept her warm enough that she wasn't shivering constantly, placing her hands inside her jacket pockets, Vengeance sighed quietly and opened her good eye considering she had opted to leave the eye patch at home that day when the whirring sound of wings seemed to grow louder. Of course when Vengeance saw the Flygon, she relaxed once again and closed her eye only to open both eyes a moment later when she heard someone or something fall. Spotting the girl, Vengeance nearly dead panned at the sight of her yelling into thin air ... what was a girl doing here of all places anyway ... . No matter, it wasn't like the girl had spotted Vengeance as of yet anyway and Vengeance certainly wasn't going to get up to see why the girl had so suddenly invaded her sanctuary of sorts. Lucifer looked up when he saw the Flygon approach and dead panned when the girl fell only to yell to the air that she was all right ... or perhaps she had meant her Flygon. Shaking one of his heads, the Hydreigon decided there was no threat where this girl was concerned and laid his head back down, hoping to be able to relax for at least a little while longer.[/scrolly]	[atrb=style,border:0 black none;]

"But... but yeah! Look at this!" Skye grinned turning around again and stomping her feet on the ground in a mild disbelief. There was actual solid ground... solid rock here! Sure she had read about such, but her father had never let her stray as far to get to such. Flint chuckled to himself at Skye's demeanor. His silly human~ However, as soon as he thought of this, Flint suddenly realized someone else was here and turned his head to look off towards Lucifer. Upon noticing Flint's actions, Skye jumped and looked off. That-... that's a Hydreigon.... the thought came to Skye, but all she could do there was stand and stare at it... And... it was... a different color than what she had seen in the books! Just like Flint, kinda... Though she hadn't noticed the adult woman just yet, Skye''s entire motion suddenly stemmed off towards the Hyreigon, and in a startlingly fast run, she quickly came straight up to the Hyrdeigon. "Wow... you're gorgeous..." she grinned, her eyes sparkling a little at the sight of the dragon. Flint instantly tensed as Skye moved closer, and in a brief moment, he had taken to the air and buzzed after her. [/scrolly]

Jade eyes shifted to the Flygon with the girl, interested in its rare coloring but since it seemed that the girl was talking to the Flygon, chances were that it was hers. Of course Vengeance hadn't come here to catch Pokemon but then again if she found one with rare coloring so much the better. When the Flygon looked in her direction, Vengeance blinked wondering what the Flygon was going to do ... but then the girl looked as well and came running towards them causing Vengeance to stifle a groan as the footsteps came nearer ... this just wasn't her day ... . Lucifer had been largely trying to ignore the girl and the Flygon that had come but was finding this rather hard to do with the girl's loud voice ringing in his ears. Before he knew it the sounds of running feet reached him causing the Hydreigon to open his eyes only to find that the girl was standing right before him. Hearing the girl speak, Lucifer smiled slightly and raised his middle head up proudly though the other two heads were all but leering at the girl. Though it was true that Lucifer appreciated the compliment, he still had no patience when it came to younglings like this one but for now it seemed that the Hydreigon was tolerating her presence if nothing more. Vengeance heard the girl's voice nearby and sat up to see that the girl was foolishly standing close to Lucifer who seemed to be fine with the girl's presence for the time being but who knew how long that would last. "I would be careful if I were you ... ,"Vengeance warned the newcomer, "Lucifer has little patience with kids and only listens to me. He may seem fine right now but I'm not certain how long that will last ... ."[/scrolly]	[atrb=style,border:0 black none;]

Turning her head, she finally noticed the other woman and stared for a brief moment wondering how long that Vengeance had been there. Wait... this is a stranger... she's not from home... There was actually no fear in this thought, in truth. More than anything, this was curiosity. The few times she had snuck out before, Skye had never really come into direct contact with someone outside of her home. I wonder if she's as scary as everyone says the outsiders are... Skye wasn't sure, yet there wasn't any sort of fear in her demeanor just yet. From the way that she was taking, this is her Hydreigon. Though this possibly would have discouraged a considerable number of trainers that may have just been here to befriend pokemon and capture them, it had a rather opposite effect on Skye. Breaking into a huge grin, she turned her full form towards Vengeance and nodded her head. "Oh ok," she spoke with an earnest smile of sorts. "Did you raise him? He looks really strong. Maybe even stronger than Flint." After a moment, a snort of sorts vibrated from the Flygon, and Flint shook his single head and rolled his eyes. It wasn't so much the fact that Skye had just said that the dragon was possibly stronger than him. In truth, he was snorting because Skye seemed to be completely blind to the fact that the dragon could probably eat her if he wasn't there. The Flygon flew a bit closer to his trainer as this thought became more prominent in his mind. The last thing he needed was to have Bret on him for letting Skye get hurt while she was out and away from home, and the Flygon knew this a bit too well for reason. "Oh, my name is Skye by the way," the young cross dresser of sorts smiled making a thumb point to herself possibly for emphasis. "What's your name?" she asked completely oblivious to any notion that Vengeance probably didn't want to be talked to. [/scrolly]

"I've had him ever since I was young ... yes, though I'd say Lucifer's taken care of me more than I have him,"Vengeance explained before the Flygon moved in closer. A wise move in Vengeance's opinion considering this kid still hadn't taken her warning seriously and Lucifer was certainly not known for his patience with kids ... well except for one, but that had been a while back and ... well they had both changed since then. Breathing out quietly, Vengeance shook her head slightly and looked up when the kid- apparently named Skye, spoke again,"I take it 'Flint' is your Flygon? Interesting color ... I have a few shiny Pokemon myself but none that particular shade ... ,"Vengeance began before sitting up a little more and resting an arm on Lucifer,"I go by Vengeance." Of course Vengeance wasn't about to go into detail about the reasons why she went by that name ... but after years of being called such, it was hard to remember her real name or rather if she had been called anything else aside from Vengeance in the first place.[/scrolly]	[atrb=style,border:0 black none;]

"Yep Flint is my Flygon. My dad called him uh..." she stopped a moment and set a finger on her chin trying to remember what exactly he had called that particular shade of Flygon. "Red I think...." she mumbled a bit more quiet than before. Skye blinked at the name that was given. Vengeance? So she was a 'Ven' too? Well... Skye had given her true name, far from her gang-given name of Venom to which she was called 'Ven' sometimes. Realizing this rather quickly, she decided not to bring it up least her affiliation with the Sand Vipers get her into trouble or something. "Vengeance? That's a weird name," she stated rather bluntly. "Why would anyone ever name their child that?" she asked with a total disregard for how that might have insulted Vengeance. [/scrolly]

Yes ... now that Skye mentioned it, Vengeance could see the red coloring more clearly but then again she had never seen a red Pokemon before so it was only natural that she didn't recognize the coloring at first. Hearing Skye mention her 'name,' Vengeance chuckled softly and shook her head, a tentative smile on her features,"That isn't my real name ... I've just been called that for so long I'm ... used to it you could say," she replied, her voice trailing off at the end of the sentence and hopefully making it clear to Skye that it wasn't something Vengeance wanted to talk about. Lucifer had more or less fallen back to sleep as the talking continued on, though he did keep one ear open for anything that sounded odd or out of place. A part of her did recognize the signs and motions, yet when she wanted to know something, she was going to ask. Flint sighed a little and smiled to herself when it seemed that everything was alright for now. That being said, he didn't leave Skye's side not even for a moment. The Hydreigon knew all too well how remembering her past tortured her with the memories and today being what it was ... well, Lucifer had decided this kid was pushing just a little too hard. The Hydreigon wasn't going to attack Skye of course, he hadn't moved once since Skye had come over to him, the growl was more of a warning to back off than anything else. Vengeance was all too glad that Lucifer had growled when he did and hoped that that would stop Skye from asking anymore bothersome questions. The truth was, Vengeance wasn't quite sure if she could remember what her given name was ... she had been going by Vengeance for so long, it had become second nature to say that was her name. Looking at Lucifer, Vengeance pet him calmly as if by doing so would calm down the Hydreigon though Vengeance knew well enough that the growl hadn't been a sign of danger but simply a warning to Skye. The wind blew a strand of her hair out of her eyes, showing just a glimpse of the scar that had left Vengeance blind before it disappeared from view as the strand fell in front of Vengeance's right eye once more.[/scrolly]	[atrb=style,border:0 black none;]

Eh? Skye blinked at Lucifer's growl and looked at him before then looking at Flint. Turning her head to one side, she frowned a little at the Flygon before smiling a bit. "Easy, big guy," she hummed before raising a gloved hand and patting him on the shoulder. "It was my fault," she reassured. The Flygon looked towards his trainer before sighing and rolling his eyes not wanting to take that as an excuse but finding no alternative at the moment. Looking back at Vengeance, Skye nodded her head a bit. "I guess it's a secret, hu?" she asked before leaning forwards a little and pressing an index finger to her lips. "I can dig that, I guess." she grinned before standing upright. "So Vengeance, did ya come out here to have fun too?" she asked changing the subject rather fluidly. [/scrolly]

As long as the kid didn't push things too far the Hydreigon would be just fine. Vengeance gave a tentative smile when Skye asked if it was a secret and shrugged,"Yeah ... ,"she replied quietly. Well her real name could be called a secret sure, but Vengeance truly wasn't quite sure if she could remember her name but Skye surely didn't need to know that. Upon being asked if she had come here to have fun, Vengeance sighed and shook her head,"I came here to think ... ,"she replied as she leaned against Lucifer once again and stared up at the clear sky. Vengeance wasn't about to give further explanation to her reason to being here, truly all Vengeance wanted at that point in time was some peace and quiet but it appeared she wasn't going to be getting that any time soon.[/scrolly]	[atrb=style,border:0 black none;]

Well that just opened a new can of worms, and Skye wondered what exactly the older woman was thinking about or why she would stop and come all the way out there just to thi--- oh. Well... she had a Hydreigon, even if she didn't live close, this woman could fly. That made sense. Slowly leaning back on her heels and turning around slowly, Skye threw her arms out. "I didn't even know this was here till now. It's so cool," she proclaimed before whipping around again and pressing her hands together in front of herself. "I've never seen such hard rock or hard ground. It's so odd...." [/scrolly]

How could a person not know that the Red Mesa didn't exist ... but then again she had spent nearly her entire life in the Orre region and as such was unfamiliar to quite a few of the locations in Era still. Looking back at Skye as she started talking about never seeing hard rock or ground, Vengeance raised an eyebrow,"There's actually quite a few places with hard rock .... not just the Red Mesa .... . How come you haven't seen hard rock before ... not from around here ... ?"she asked quietly, relaxing against Lucifer more as she did so.[/scrolly]	[atrb=style,border:0 black none;]

"Yeah... I'm from a lot father south," she explained. That was ambiguous enough, right? The south was huge, after all, and it was full of sand and --- yeah. "All I ever see is sand... so this is... really cool," the teen answered back grinning a little and finding herself hopping up and down a bit before stopping again. "I guess I sound silly, hu?" she asked after a brief moment upon realizing her own statement. [/scrolly]

The reason why she hadn't seen rock before made sense, especially considering Vengeance herself hadn't seen much else except for sand before she moved to Era years ago. Vengeance waited until Skye had finished speaking before looking back at the girl and shaking her head."Nah, I know what' you're talking about,"Vengeance replied quietly before sighing and looking back at the sky,"I lived in a place where there was practically nothing but sand, it wasn't until i moved to Era that I saw anything different ... though I still hate the cold ... ." Well, Vengeance wasn't quite sure why she added that last part but it had seemed to fit at the moment she said it. Though in hindsight it probably would have made more sense if Vengeance had completed the thought involving her flight near the Northern region of Era while searching for something ... that was certainly something she was not too keen on repeating ... or even attempting again.[/scrolly]	[atrb=style,border:0 black none;]

The winter was horrible even in the south! Fighting off a sudden shiver that was wracking her bones, the young woman shook her head rather quickly and bounced on her heels trying to keep herself warm. "I hate the cold... when it gets too cool we always move further south," she said aloud not thinking that it was revealing too much of how she lived. Flint, however, realized that it could be inferred that they moved around a lot and thus were possibly more than just a girl and her dragon.
