[th] Jasmine | |
Species: Chikorita Gender: Female Ability: Overgrow Starter
[th]Extremely impulsive and quirky, Jasmine is prone to acting on every strange, childish whim that enters her head, which could be anything from bursting into song at random to deciding that a particular dark, scary alley looks like it has to be explored right this second. Completely fearless and always eager for a battle, she'd go toe to toe with Heatran without a second thought. However, she is also very compassionate, and she'll do pretty much anything for a friend in need, or even a stranger. She's a bit small by chikorita standards, and absolutely refuses to evolve. She can also read and write in English, but she's given up trying to learn to speak it. |
[th] Charity | |
Species: Gardevoir Gender: Female Ability: Telepathy Starter
[th]Charity's personality is something of a paradox. On one hand, she loves to help others, her natural empathy drawing her to individuals who are in emotional pain and making her want to alleviate suffering in any way she can. She'll fight to defend someone in need without a second thought, and would take a bullet for any of her friends. On the other hand, she also has a very sharp tongue, is extremely stubborn, and has had a bad habit throughout her life of using her psychic powers to find out what's wrong rather than actually asking people, making her difficult to get along with. Charity is aware of these flaws and, in her evolved state, she's tried to reign them in as much as possible, but once she's under enough stress, they come back full force. Her and her trainer are very deeply bonded, both emotionally and psychically; it is extremely hard for Charity to not hear Celeste's concious thoughts unless she does the psychic equivalent of sticking her fingers in her ears and going 'la la la,' and her empathy actually causes Celeste to feel her emotions to a small degree as well as vice-versa. Charity can communicate with humans and non-dark pokemon with telepathy, but it takes more effort with those who aren't Celeste. She's wary of unfamiliar dark pokemon, due to her inability to read them, but warms up pretty quickly to them, and is very close to her trainer's sneasel, Shilo. |
[th] Shilo | |
Species: Sneasel Gender: Female Ability: Inner Focus Starter
[th]Shilo entered Celeste's life as a soulless monster who flew into fits of bloodlust for seemingly no reason, barely controllable by her trainer. It took two years to peel back the layers of darkness that had infected her heart and closed her off from her emotions. Even now, purified of those influences, past traumas and guilt over her actions as a drone wreak havoc on her conscience. Shilo keeps most people at arms' length, calm and polite but not very warm or receptive to close contact. She speaks English fluently, carries herself in a two-legged posture at nearly all times unless she needs to move quickly or is moving on a slippery surface, and is obsessed with her own personal honour code. This code includes protecting those who can not protect themselves, the act of dueling, always keeping her word and repaying her debts, and adhering to 'an eye for an eye.' The last has the exception that, if the one who has wronged her was not in their right mind, she will forgive them, giving them the opportunity to atone rather than taking her revenge. After all, she knows what that feels like. Despite her usual calm, detached demeanor, Shilo is both extremely close to Celeste, whom she occasionally shows a small amount of affection and trusts with her life, and extremely vicious when angered. Though very restrained and careful not to do serious harm to a dueling opponent, in a battle sparked by her fury, she is merciless. Her berserk button is harming Celeste, who is also the only one who can make Shilo stop once she's committed to ripping someone apart. |
[th] Jane | |
Species: Growlithe Gender: Female Ability: None Starting Companion
[th]Jane is a strange one; she was born unable to breathe fire, or perform any pokemon moves, for that matter, along with no apparent ability. She's still a bit hardier than a garden-variety dog, but completely useless in battle. The whole thing gives her a bad inferiority complex, really. Other pokemon are pretty scary to her, and she's always timid when first meeting them, since she can't retaliate if they attack. She'll warm up to pretty much anyone in time, however, once she's sure they're not going to hurt her, and can be very friendly, playful and compassionate once she has, ready to stand by her 'pack' to the end. However, Jane adores humans with very few exceptions, becoming a complete cuddlebug to the point of being a bit pushy. Or a lot pushy. But she doesn't mean to be an irritation; she's just desperate to be loved, and she feels she can relate to humans since they don't have fancy powers either. |
[th] Septimus | |
Species: Glaceon Gender: Male Ability: Snow Cloak Bought here
[th]Septimus is the youngest of seven sons- and, ironically, arguably the most dominant of the lot. The only one of his siblings for whom he strongly cares is his younger sister, while his brothers inspire little but ambition to prove that being the youngest (male) does not make him the weakest. He is very serious and hard-working, even now that his family has been split up and the odds of his brothers seeing his prowess is fairly low. Septimus is very pragmatic in his ambitions as well as fairly lacking in sympathy and desensitized to violence, and disproportionate retribution is an unfortunate side effect of this often enough. Simply striking the wrong nerve when he is in an ill mood can result in a full-on assault. When actually provoked either by threatening him directly or something for which he cares, he is ruthless, and if a conflict ends with blood on his paws, he won't be particularly concerned. He is in no way a warmonger of any sort, however. In fact, he is quite cunning and skilled at strategic maneuvers, often coming up with creative, unorthodox solutions for even the most unusual problems. He is also quite loyal to his trainer, and will remain so just so long as his trainer seems equally loyal to him, and he is quite happy to offer his brilliant mind as aid if ever needed so long as proper gratitude is offered. Being offered and shown one's loyalty and respect in bulk is pretty well the best way to gain his comradery- even if largely circumstancial and prone to change- no matter who one is. He fears very little in life, bravely facing whatever comes his mind with claws sharp and mind clear. However, he does exercise a healthy caution of several things, and will stop to think things through if a situation looks to have high odds of inducing injury. If an alternate route cannot be found, he'll simply have to risk it, but he is usually quite good at finding alternate routes. In particular, he is unfortunately not the strongest swimmer, but neither has he ever really had a need to be. As such, while he can swim a little if need be, he likes to avoid it whenever he can out of a |
