Jade loved the beach, so what better a place for time away? Time away from the castle, away from the reality that she couldn't get a decent bar job. But hey, it wasn't her fault a lot of the owners and managers were total douchebags, right? She walked along an area that was scarce by means of people, before pulling out a Pokeball and tossing it. "Alright, Leviathan. Let's make you tougher, eh?" A shiny Magibass appeared from the Pokeball, flopping on the sand. o.o Oh no! Sand! On his SCALES! The shiny hybrid frantically scrambled about trying to get the sand off, but after realizing this was fruitless, he glared at Jade, then rushed at her in a tackle attack, chattering something in Pokemon. Jade ducked, and the Pokemon flopped onto--MORE SAND! Leviathan rolled about, attempting to pick each little bit of sand off of himself. Jade face-palmed, before making her way over and picking up the now-squirming Magibass. "Hold still...." she sighed, beginning to brush off the Water type, who relaxed once he realized what she was doing. [/scrolly]

The section of the beach Jade had found was sparse on other people.. but not devoid of them. For instance, a good ways out in the water, a young man was swimming around and playing with a few Pokemon: specifically a Kingdra and a Pelipper. Alaric... had really needed a break. He loved his family.

....Most of his family*.

He loved them to pieces, he did. But being around them too long was exhausting. And he'd been around them more often than not since No-fricking-vember, when he'd taken in Yukiko and vowed he was going to keep her until she had fully recovered from her state of destitution. He adored his poor little Yuki, and even now felt pretty terrible for leaving her all alone with them.... though he supposed it was progress that he was even able to leave her alone and needed to fear only for them annoying her rather that destroying her.... heh.... ....No, that really wasn't funny after all.

No, he'd.... he'd go back home yet again, soon enough. He just needed.. a few more days. Just a little time to cool his head. There were only so many times that he could explore Harmony Woods in a row before even that started losing its appeal. So he'd come to his other home, his private personal dwelling, in Orion. He was never so glad to be in the small apartment as when he'd just returned from visiting his family, and now that 'visiting' probably better qualified for it, it was only that much more special. He couldn't stay cooped up for his whole 'vacation', though, and so had come to the beach. It was his favorite place, the reason he'd moved to Orion in the first place, and always a sure-win to help him relax.

Right now, he was mostly just enjoying the sea's cool embrace, winding down from a water fight with these two Pokemon, and--

Oh hello.

Eyes slightly greener than the ocean happened across a blonde on the beach tending... some sort of fish Pokemon? How odd. Some part of him registered it must be a hybrid, but he'd never 100% trusted his knowledge of Pokemon species. Regardless the case, an idea was starting to form- an awful idea; Alaric got a wonderful awful idea- and a slow grin spread across his face. He called Tide and Pistol in closer.

Some thirty seconds later, Tide, the Pelipper, took to the sky. At first he flew nonchalantly, in wide circles. In the meantime, Alaric and Pistol began having an innocent splash war. He really doubted the blonde was looking his direction at all, but if she was, the blond was going to have his bases covered.

After a few rounds, Tide "noticed" Jade. Swooping down, he opened his mouth, and with just enough pressure to be irritating (but hopefully not really hurt), he sprayed the woman with a Water Gun. Not-quite-immediately, Alaric turned and saw, looking appalled. From his place some fifteen to twenty yards out, he called/scolded, "Tide! What, no!" He grabbed hold of Pistol's fin, then, and the Kingdra began pulling him toward land. Tide, meanwhile, reacted immediately to the scolding, giving an 'eek'-ish squawk and landing nearby, cowering apologetically.

Although right now, her entire focus was her narcissist Magibass. Finally, she got his scales all clean, and was debating trying their training session in the water when--SPLASH! Jade jumped, not expecting the sudden 'attack' if one would call it that, seeing as how it didn't hurt, just got her soaked and scared the living crap out of her. And on top of that, she dropped Leviathan. The shiny hybrid....was far less than amused. Turning toward the Pelipper, he glared before attempting to launch a tackle attack at it. That sorry bastard soaked Jade! And worse than that, he had SAND all over him! Again! This was an outrage! Seeing what the hybrid was doing, Jade returned him before he had much chance to do anything. Sure, she was more than a little irritated, but Leviathan wasn't much of a threat--yet. Even though she sort of had her doubts about evolving fish-Pokemon nowadays, seeing as how Mr. Fishy turned out.... Sighing softly, she brushed her now dripping hair from her face, and turned to the source of the voice. The woman started to yell at him, give him a piece of her mind. But she was again reminded of Mr. Fishy, who'd done far worse than shoot a light Water Gun at people. And besides, she was at the BEACH, so of course she hadn't done anything overly extravagant to her hair aside from getting the tangles out and making it look nice. ...Speaking of nice.... What she saw coming towards land on a Kingdra didn't look all that bad from this distance...Jade shook those thoughts away, trying to ignore the fact that she hadn't seen any....action...since November. Great Arceus that was a long time....especially for her.... Jade forced a smile, remembering one of her OWN Pokemon once tried to attack her with a HYPER BEAM, which was a lot worse than what just happen. She made her way over to the water, to meet the man halfway, still forcing down her frustrations of trying to prepare her Pokemon for training only to have it ruined. The blonde gritted her teeth, reminding herself that today was a day to relax. No yelling, no unleashing a Red Gyarados to wreak his havoc on the world....not today.... [/scrolly]

As Alaric reached the depths where he could touch the bottom, he released his hold on Pistol (who stopped there) and hurried up to the shoreline at a slightly hurried pace that wasn't quite jogging. Looking simply distraught, he exclaimed, "I am so, so sorry, I--.. What were you thinking?" The last part was directed at Tide. The Pelipper looked away 'ashamed', just as he was supposed to.

The young man gave a little 'augh' sound and partially rolled his eyes. "We've talked about this. You should know better." Sighing, he bowed to her, one arm sincerely placed over his chest, hand twisted palm-up; the other more to his side and slightly behind him, fist balled. He held the pose.. even if he was actually still a bit taller than her despite it. "You have my deepest apologies, m'lady," his deep voice crooned now. He maintained his position still, but his head tilted up a bit and his eyes moved to hers, a gentle smile on his face. "Might you let me make it up to you...?"

"I've had much worse, and I was planning on getting in the water, anyway." She flashed him a small smile. "Although...Leviathan may not be so forgiving...so much so that I'm sort of debating not evolving him. As cool as a Gyarados/Milotic would be...I always seem to get the demonic fish." The woman shook her head. "Sorry about that. Thinking out loud. But don't worry about it; was just water, and I am at the beach." [/scrolly]

Alaric blinked at the woman's words. Milotic-Gyardos? Ah, so that had been a hybrid- named Leviathan apparently. When she finished, he gave a light chuckled. "Well, I'll admit 'demonic' and 'fish' aren't generally two words I hear coupled together like that," he joked, immediately feeling it had fallen a bit flat. ..Ah well, he made worse jokes intentionally all the time. :B

He thought for a moment, wondering which direction to go here considering he really did legitimately want to apologize (even if she didn't know it had been on purpose), which made it a touch more complex than his usual random flirting. Finally, it hit him, and his smiled at her.. looking for a moment a bit more like a sweet kid than the usual grins he might give. "Oh hey. If you do decide you want to evolve him, I'd be happy to help you train. ..Seeing as I seem to've messed up your training-- or whatever else you were doing with him I guess?-- out here and all~"

"Mr. Fishy's gotten WORSE since he evolved...and not to mention the other Shiny Magikarp I have and Mr. Fishy's THREE children....But I have this Carvahna who's really sweet. Most of the time." She rolled her eyes lightly. "All I know if is kids are like that I don't want any." Jade smiled, but it was uncertain whether this was a sweet smile, or merely humored. "I honestly don't know. I'll probably do better to train him in obedience first. And he is SO vain..." Suddenly, a thought came to her. "Ya know....this IS the beach...and I was thinking of taking Leviathan into the water before I got sprayed. And I'm already wet...How bout we go for a swim and call it even?" The blond woman winked. Alaric smirked at the amusing recount of her... lol FISH STORIES hehehehe.. only to frown a little at her comment on kids. Fortunately, though, either she seemed not to notice or it wasn't as apparent as it felt, both being quite possible. At any rate, he reminded himself of the big 'if' in there and tried to focus on the humor; she'd in no way said she didn't like kids in general, right?

A little smirk returned as some part of him wondered what was wrong with being a little vain, though truth be told he had no idea how ironic that thought really was. The poor noble seemed to have no concept of just how obsessive his love of his hair seemed to others; in his own mind, he just took really good care of it at a completely reasonable level. It wasn't as though he had any little urge to brush it right now or-.... Hey where did that come from? Right, pay attention to the hot blonde.

As she finished her statement, Alaric cracked a grin so hard it made him flinch a little in order to suppress a laugh. It took everything in the his will to resist commenting on the words 'already wet'. What no he wasn't- okay so he was 12. It's too early for that, he reminded himself, and after a moment to regain his composure his smile turned more gentle and he shook his head.

"Ah, m'lady, I'm afraid that simply won't do." He looked back over his shoulder at the waves, stretching a bit in the process, then turned to Tide. "Go find Honey and get in your Ball to think about this, by the way." With the eye on the side opposite the woman, he winked. They'd been playing for some time, and Tide was probably in the mood for a nice rest anyway.

"Peli.." the bird 'sighed' 'dejectedly', just before taking off perfectly chipperly and flying a bit inland.

"My Luxray is wandering around her somewhere with my bag," he explained off-hand. Sighing lightly and turning slowly back to face her, he brought a hand to his chin and stroked his beard a bit 'in thought', as if he hadn't known for a good five minutes roughly what he was going to say.

Finally smiling again, he offered, "How about we go for a swim.." He removed his hand from his chin, interlacing both behind his head instead. (In retrospect, perhaps flashing one's armpits wasn't the best lead-up, but at least he didn't really smell like anything but sea water. Really, for such a scrappy guy, he was fairly hairy, but meh.) "..and then afterward, you let me buy you dinner~?" he finished.

She just figured that odds were, considering her lifestyle, that she'd end up a single Mom and that would just turn her entire life around to revolve around the baby. That and she was thirty-two...She may have wanted kids, deep down, but she didn't have but several years until....whoa where did this come from? Jade shook her head, to clear these thoughts, only to notice the smile. This, she also shrugged off, not sure she wanted to know. "Luxray, huh? Looks like you have quite the interesting assortment~" She smiled. "I've got a variety as well, I just have more of some types than others, heh." She smiled; ah, nothing like a guy flashing his armpits at you to make you wanna jump in the water with him. But hey...he was cute. Okay so he was hot and Jade hadn't been with a guy in forever, especially out to dinner... "Dinner and a swim, hrm? Tell ya what, you seem sweet enough. It'll be your pleasure~" She teased lightly, winking at him, not noticing the exchange with the Pelipper. But what Alaric would notice was the woman shedding her red tank top and blue shorts to reveal a nice black and purple bikini. The shorts and shirt, she tucked into her purse before setting it down. She figured if someone stole it they'd be fool enough to crack open the lock box she had in there... [/scrolly]

Alaric flashed a rather.. intent, perhaps even slightly hungry grin, and for the moment his already-deep voice dropped and took on its borderline-purring quality. "I have no doubt of it."

And just that quickly, he shifted back as she set down her purse. "Oh hey, do you want me to have Honey watch that for you? I doubt she's too far off." He gave a slightly cheesy grin. "I don't have too many Pokemon, really, but I think I favor Water and Electric types a bit.. if unintentionally, heh~" ...Come to think of it, he should really find a Chinchou. .3. ..Huh. Had he ever realized that before? Well, it was far from urgent, so meh.

Alaric chuckled, assuming said lockbox probably contained one or more of her aforementioned demon fish. As she moved toward the water, he found his eyes trailing over her, snapping back to her face when she turned around. With a sweeping bow, he replied, "Alaric Egilart, at your service."

Peering back over his own shoulder once he stood, he thought for a moment, then grinned slightly. "...Hang on. Watch this." He took a few deep breaths, then...

"AAHHHGGYYGYGGHHGHGH!!!!!!"

The pained cry rang out as he twisted and fell into the sand dramatically. ...For a few seconds, he just looked like an idiot, and was beginning to become concerned. But soon enough a loud catscreech rang in reply, and a crazed looking Luxray came leaping to the scene, sparks flying from her fur, bloodlust in her eyes; Tide followed close behind. The lioness was ready to kill something until--..... oh God. Alaric had burst into a fit of giggles. She hung her head and leered, letting out a heavy sigh.

"Loooove you~" he told her as he got up. "Still got my bag?" A moment after asking, he realized she must have left it in her hurry, but noticed Tide had grabbed it. "Awesome~" Taking it from the Pelipper, he recalled Tide, put his ball back in the bag, and set it back down. "Honey-love, mind watching my friend's purse here too?"

Honey's eyes trailed over to Jade, and though she could have easily looked through the woman, there was no mistaking she was glaring directly at her, at least for a few moments. After a moment, though, she just murred a little concession and collapsed into a lounging heap. "Thankya~"

Turning to follow Jade at last, he was more or less beaming. "Honey's the best." The cat behind him gave a sniff that probably meant 'damn straight, bitch'. "So where were we~?" Honey deadpanned.

But then the Luxray came bounding to them, and she smiled, despite the fact the Pokemon looked like it was ready to tear her to shreds at first. "Wow. Well, if I'm around when shit goes down, I'm on your side," she joked lightly, meeting the Luxray's stare with her usual gaze. A flirty smile crossed Jade's lips at the question. "Well, we were about to go for a swim. As for what we end up doing....well that's still up in the air~" She winked, giving her head a jerk to send her still damp hair behind her as she turned and ran for the water.
